| 1 | Fengyun Meteorological Satellite Products for Earth System Science Applications显示文摘Following the progress of satellite data assimilation in the 1990s, the combination of meteorological satellites and numerical models has changed the way scientists understand the earth. With the evolution of numerical weather prediction models and earth system models, meteorological satellites will play a more important role in earth sciences in the future. As part of the space-based infrastructure, the Fengyun (FY) meteorological satellites have contributed to earth science sustainability studies through an open data policy and stable data quality since the first launch of the FY-1A satellite in 1988. The capability of earth system monitoring was greatly enhanced after the second-generation polar orbiting FY-3 satellites and geostationary orbiting FY-4 satellites were developed. Meanwhile, the quality of the products generated from the FY-3 and FY-4 satellites is comparable to the well-known MODIS products. FY satellite data has been utilized broadly in weather forecasting, climate and climate change investigations, environmental disaster monitoring, etc. This article reviews the instruments mounted on the FY satellites. Sensor-dependent level 1 products (radiance data) and inversion algorithm-dependent level 2 products (geophysical parameters) are introduced. As an example, some typical geophysical parameters, such as wildfires, lightning, vegetation indices, aerosol products, soil moisture, and precipitation estimation have been demonstrated and validated by in-situ observations and other well-known satellite products. To help users access the FY products, a set of data sharing systems has been developed and operated. | 3 | Recovery of neodymium,dysprosium,and cobalt from NdFeB magnet leachate using an unsymmetrical dialkylphosphinic acid extractant,INET-3显示文摘Rare earths (REs) and Co are critical strategic resources.Their recovery is crucial for ensuring that their supplies are adequate and for reducing environmental pollution.End-of-life NdFeB magnets are important secondary RE sources.The separation of Dy,Nd,and Co from NdFeB leachate using a relatively new extractant (2,3-dimethylbutyl)(2,4,4’-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid (INET-3),was investigated in this study.The separation parameters,such as equilibrium pH,phase ratio,INET-3 concentration,and number of counter-current extraction stages,were optimised.The results show that INET-3 can separate Dy,Nd,and Co efficiently.For the preferential extraction of Dy from synthetic iron-free NdFeB leachate,the optimum equilibrium pH is 2.60.Under this condition,separation of Dy from the leachate requires four counter-current extraction stages at A/O (volume ratio of aqueous to organic)=1:2.This is demonstrated by a simulated four-stage counter-current extraction process.At equilibrium pH=2.52and A/O=1:2,98%of Dy is recovered with 95%purity.As to the subsequent separation of Nd from the leachate,nearly 100%is recovered with 99%purity through a simulated three-stage counter-current extraction process at equilibrium pH=5.33 and A/O=1:1.Approximately 95%of Co remains in the raffinate with 99.98%purity. | Zhengyu Liu a Jiaming Wu a Xinyu Liu Wen Wanga Ziwei Li Ruijing Xu Yue Ding Junlian Wang | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,10: | 3 |

| 6 | In situ kinetics and flocs conformation studies of kaolinite flocculated by Chi-g-CPAM显示文摘This study presents a comparative study of the flocculation behavior of kaolinite induced by chitosan-graft-poly(acrylamide-dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride)(Chi-g-CPAM) and a commercial cationic polyacrylamide(CPAM).The flocculation behaviour was characterised in terms of both flocculation kinetics and the corresponding morphology changes during flocculation.Both Chi-g-CPAM and CPAM were grafted from silica wafers by means of atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP).The quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation(QCM-D) tests were conducted.The equilibrium time flocculated by Chi-g-CPAM was found to be 0.46 times as that of CPAM,together with a larger total mass of kaolinite layer.The flocculation behaviour by Chi-g-CPAM can be well captured by a pseudo-first-order model.In contrast,the presence of CPAM leads to a more complex kinetics.A relatively larger fitting slope(0.4663) was obtained at the initial stage but the fitting slope droped to 0.2026 after 800 min,indicating a densification process caused by CPAM.The flocculation kinetics of CPAM can be captured by the Elovich model for the inital stage but the combination of pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models for the latter stages,which can be attributed to the long chain of CPAM.With a dosage of 75 g/t,the settling test with Chi-g-CPAM exhibits the same turbidity in the supernatant but a smaller layer thickness of the settlement compared to CPAM.The study enables a better understanding of the flocculation behavior and contributes to the development of efficient flocculants in mineral processing and tailings treatment. | Ruijing Xu Wenjie Zou Bo Rao Wei Zhao Ting Wang Zhijun Zhang | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,5: | 0 |
