1Downstaging and resection of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with extrahepatic metastases after stereotactic therapy显示文摘Background:A combination of tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)and anti-PD-1 antibodies with local regional therapy has elicited yield substantial clinical benefits in patients who have hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with extrahepatic metastases.Using this treatment strategy to convert HCC patients with extrahepatic metastases from unresectable to resectable has not yet been reported.Methods:Consecutive hepatocellular carcinoma patients with extrahepatic metastases who received first-line therapy with a combination of TKIs and anti-PD-1 antibodies and at least one local regional therapy were analysed.Results:Nine patients with localized disease who received first-line systemic therapy were enrolled.At baseline,all of them had oligometastatic disease,namely,Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C(or Chinese Liver Cancer stage IIIB).The most common treatment administered was lenvatinib plus anti-PD-1 antibody and transarterial chemoembolization,and the median time span from systemic therapy to surgery was 3.2(IQR,2.8-6.2)months.Three patients achieved a pathological complete response.Six patients underwent laparoscopic surgery,and the other 3 patients underwent open surgery.After a median follow-up of 10.2(IQR,8.6-20.0)months,7 patients survived without disease recurrence,and 2 experienced tumour recurrence.All patients had any-grade AEs,and 55.6%of the patients experienced grade 3 AEs.Fatigue was the most common AE,followed by elevated aminotransferase levels and hypertension.Conclusions:Stereotactic therapy is a feasible conversion therapy for HCC patients with extrahepatic metastases to become resectable.This is the first study to analyse therapeutic outcomes of patients receiving these therapies for HCC with extrahepatic metastases.Xiaobo Yang Haifeng Xu Bangyou Zuo Xu Yang Jin Bian Junyu Long Dongxu Wang Junwei Zhang Cong Ning Yanyu Wang Ziyu Xun Yunchao Wang Xin Lu Yilei Mao Xinting Sang Haitao Zhao 2021Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,4:17
2Interannual variability in soil respiration from terrestrial ecosystems in China and its response to climate change显示文摘Soil respiration is an important process in terrestrial carbon cycle.Concerning terrestrial ecosystems in China, quantifying the spatiotemporal pattern of soil respiration at the regional scale is critical in providing a theoretical basis for evaluating carbon budget.In this study, we used an empirically based, semi-mechanistic model including climate and soil properties to estimate annual soil respiration from terrestrial ecosystems in China from 1970 to 2009.We further analyzed the relationship between interannual variability in soil respiration and climatic factors (air temperature and precipitation).Results indicated that the distribution of annual soil respiration showed clear spatial patterns.The highest and lowest annual soil respiration rates appeared in southeastern China and northwestern China, respectively, which was in accordance with the spatial patterns of mean annual air temperature and annual precipitation.Although the mean annual air temperature in northwestern China was higher than that in some regions of northeastern china, a greater topsoil organic carbon storage in northeastern China might result in the higher annual soil respiration in this region.By contrast, lower temperature, less precipitation and smaller topsoil organic carbon pool incurred the lowest annual soil respiration in northwestern China.Annual soil respiration from terrestrial ecosystems in China varied from 4.58 to 5.19 PgCa-1 between 1970 and 2009.During this time period, on average, annual soil respiration was estimated to be 4.83 PgCa-1 .Annual soil respiration in China accounted for 4.93%-6.01% of the global annual soil CO2 emission.The interannual variability in soil respiration depended on the interannual variability in precipitation and mean air temperature.In order to reduce the uncertainty in estimating annual soil respiration at regional scale, more in situ measurements of soil respiration and relevant factors (e.g.climate, soil and vegetation) should be made simultaneously and historical soil property data sets should also be established.CHEN ShuTao HUANG Yao ZOU JianWen SHI YanShu LU YanYu ZHANG Wen HU ZhengHua 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,12:8
3Climate and Vegetation Drivers of Terrestrial Carbon Fluxes:A Global Data Synthesis显示文摘The terrestrial carbon(C) cycle plays an important role in global climate change, but the vegetation and environmental drivers of C fluxes are poorly understood. We established a global dataset with 1194 available data across site-years including gross primary productivity(GPP), ecosystem respiration(ER), net ecosystem productivity(NEP), and relevant environmental factors to investigate the variability in GPP, ER and NEP, as well as their covariability with climate and vegetation drivers.The results indicated that both GPP and ER increased exponentially with the increase in mean annual temperature(MAT)for all biomes. Besides MAT, annual precipitation(AP) had a strong correlation with GPP(or ER) for non-wetland biomes.Maximum leaf area index(LAI) was an important factor determining C fluxes for all biomes. The variations in both GPP and ER were also associated with variations in vegetation characteristics. The model including MAT, AP and LAI explained 53%of the annual GPP variations and 48% of the annual ER variations across all biomes. The model based on MAT and LAI explained 91% of the annual GPP variations and 92.9% of the annual ER variations for the wetland sites. The effects of LAI on GPP, ER or NEP highlighted that canopy-level measurement is critical for accurately estimating ecosystem–atmosphere exchange of carbon dioxide. 4Efficacy of water fraction from Dioscorea cirrhosa on oxidative stress and apoptosis in H9c2 cardiomyocytes induced by H2O2显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of water fraction from Dioscorea cirrhosa(WF)on oxidative damage and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes induced by H2O2,and to study its mechanism.METHODS:Cell viability was measured by the MST assay kit.The content of malondialdehyde(MDA),release of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)and activity of catalase(CAT)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were detected by biochemical kit.The content of reactive oxygen species(ROS)was assessed by nonfluorescent probe 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescin diacetate(DCFH-DA).JC-1 was used to analyze the mitochondrial membrane potential(mtΔΨ)and Annexin-V-FITC/PI staining was applied to assess apoptosis of H9c2 by flow cytometry.Moreover,the expression of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),Bcl-2-associated X(Bax),caspase-3,caspase-9,cleaved-caspase-3 and cleaved-caspase-9 proteins was determined by western blot analysis.RESULTS:WF increased cell viability and decreased LDH leakage in H9c2 cells exposed to H2O2.WF treatment decreased ROS and MDA level,enhanced SOD and CAT activities,improved mtΔΨand inhibited apoptosis.Western blot analysis demonstrated that the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax was increased and the expression cleaved-caspase-3,caspase-3,cleaved-caspase-9 and caspase-9 were decreased in group treated with WF.CONCLUSION:WF protects H9c2 myocardial cells on H2O2-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis by scavenging ROS,improving antioxidant capacity,protecting mitochondrial and regulating the proteins expression related to apoptosis.LIU Chunhua PAN Jie WANG Aimin LAN Yanyu LI Yongjun LU Yuan SUN Jia WANG Yonglin LIU Ting LU Dingyan YOU Jingrui 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,1:4
5Efficacy of seasonal pandemic influenza hemagglutinin DNA vaccines delivered by electroporation against aseasonal H1N1 virus challenge in mice显示文摘Prophylactic DNA vaccines against the influenza virus are promising alternatives to conventional vaccines.In this study,we generated two candidate gene-based influenza vaccines encoding either the seasonal or pandemic hemagglutinin antigen(HA) from the strains A/New Caledonia/20/99(H1N1)(pV1A5) and A/California/04/2009(H1N1)(pVEH1) ,respectively.After verifying antigen expression,the immunogenicity of the vaccines delivered intramuscularly with electroporation was tested in a mouse model.Sera of immunized animals were tested in hemagglutination inhibition assays and by ELISA for the presence of HA-specific antibodies.HA-specific T-cells were also measured in IFN-γELISpot assays.The protective efficacy of the candidate influenza vaccines was evaluated by measuring mortality rates and body weight after a challenge with 100 LD50 of mouse-adapted A/New Caledonia/20/99(H1N1) .Mice immunized with either one of the two vaccines showed significantly higher T cell and humoral immune responses(P<0.05) than the pVAX1 control group.Additionally,the pV1A5 vaccine effectively protected the mice against a lethal homologous mouse-adapted virus challenge with a survival rate of 100%compared with a 40%survival rate in the pVEH1 vaccinated group(P<0.05) .Our study indicates that the seasonal influenza DNA vaccine completely protects against the homologous A/New Caledonia/20/99 virus(H1N1) ,while the pandemic influenza DNA vaccine only partially protects against this virus.TAN Lei LU HuiJun ZHANG Dan WANG KaiYan TIAN MingYao LIU CunXia LIU YanYu HU Bo JIN NingYi 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,4:2

8Climatic Characteristics of Hail and Risk Zoning of Its Disaster Factor in Anhui Province显示文摘[Objective]The research aimed to study climatic characteristics of hail and risk zoning of its disaster factor in Anhui Province.[Method]Based on the hail-day records from 82 weather stations in Anhui Province,Chinese Meteorological Disaster Dictionary(1951 to 2005)and The Yearbook of Meteorological Disaster in Anhui Province(2006 to 2009),we discussed the climatic characteristic and risk zoning of hail disaster in Anhui Province.[Result]The hail days exhibited significant interdecadal variability,and it had a significant negative correlation with annual mean minimum temperature.The hail usually occurred from March to August,most frequently in June but less in autumn and winter.It most likely took place from afternoon to sunset.The spatial distribution showed that the hail occurred more in northeast of Huaibei,south of Dabie Mountain and some areas of Huangshan Mountain,but less in Jianghuai region.The index of hail intensity was defined by three factors,the diameter,duration and gust grade,and the percentile method was used to grade the intensity of the hail disaster.This work provided a possibility for quantitative assessment of the intensity of hail disaster.The results of hail disaster risk zoning in Anhui Province showed that high risk zones were concentrated in northeast of Huaibei,and low risk zones were mainly in south of Huaihe River.Finally,verified by historic disaster,it showed that the results of risk zoning had a certain rationality and feasibility.[Conclusion]The research could provide reference basis for hail disaster defense and assessment.Huayang Wen Hong Tian Weian Tang Yanyu Lu Rong Wu 2013Meteorological and Environmental Research2013,4,8:1

11Zoning strategy of zonal modeling for thermally stratified large spaces显示文摘Large space buildings play a significant role in modern society because of their environmental advantages and market value.While the zonal model is promising for the efficient and rapid evaluation of the stratified thermal environment,there is a lack of a reasonable and convenient zoning strategy with the advent of modern computing.This paper presents a universal and practical zonal model,in which a simplified momentum equation is applied to consider air momentum preservation,transformation,and dissipation.Hence,the zoning structure is generalized and flexible.Moreover,limiting the dimensionless temperature constraint between adjacent zones establishes the connection between thermal nonuniformity and zoning results automatically.Simultaneously,the dimension and number of zones should be restricted within reasonable ranges to satisfy the characteristics of zonal simulation and reach the criteria of convergence.To further explore and validate the zonal model,a reduced-scale experimental model was constructed to replicate the thermal stratification in a mechanically ventilated large space by considering many crucial realistic factors.A particle image velocimetry(PIV)measurement was then conducted to visualize the airflow pattern and support the partition of zones.The results showed that the zonal simulation with adaptive zoning method can realize a similar accuracy with fewer zones and exhibit a better tolerance for zoning results compared to the conventional empirical zoning method.Furthermore,a case study of an atrium was performed to demonstrate the practicality and efficiency of the method for long-term dynamic simulations of complex thermal environments and building energy use.Yanyu Lu Zhaojun Wang Jing Liu Jiankai Dong 2021Building Simulation2021,14,5:1

15Correlation between cerebral cortex changes and clinical features in patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder with normal-appearing brain tissue:a case-control study显示文摘Neuro myelitis optica spectrum disorder(NMOSD) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system.However,whether and how cortical changes occur in NMOSD with normal-appearing brain tissue,or whether any cortical changes correlate with clinical chara cteristics,is not completely clear.The current study recruited 43 patients with NMOSD who had normal-appearing brain tissue and 45 healthy controls matched for age,sex,and educational background from December 2020 to February 2022.A surface-based morphological analysis of high-resolution T1-weighted structural magnetic resonance images was used to calculate the cortical thickness,sulcal depth,and gyrification index.Analysis showed that cortical thickness in the bilate ral rostral middle frontal gyrus and left superior frontal gyrus was lower in the patients with NMOSD than in the control participants.Subgroup analysis of the patients with NMOSD indicated that compared with those who did not have any optic neuritis episodes,those who did have such episodes exhibited noticeably thinner cortex in the bilateral cuneus,superior parietal co rtex,and pericalcarine co rtex.Correlation analysis indicated that co rtical thickness in the bilateral rostral middle frontal gyrus was positively correlated with scores on the Digit Symbol Substitution Test and negatively correlated with scores on the Trail Making Test and the Expanded Disability Status Scale.These results are evidence that cortical thinning of the bilateral regional frontal cortex occurs in patients with NMOSD who have normal-appearing brain tissue,and that the degree of thinning is correlated with clinical disability and cognitive function.These findings will help im prove our understanding of the imaging chara cteristics in NMOSD and their potential clinical significance.Chuxin Huang Yanyu Li Yanjing Chen Xuan Liao Huiting Zhang Zhiyuan Wang Jun Liu Wei Lu 2023Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,11:0

18Comprehensive analysis on the economy and energy demand of pressure-swing distillation and pervaporation for separating waste liquid containing multiple components显示文摘A large amount of waste liquids containing methanol/acetone/water mixtures are produced in the synthesis of methyl methacrylate(MMA).Under the advocacy of green chemical industry,it is urgent to develop an efficient,economic and energy-saving mixture separation process.Through thermodynamic azeotropic behavior and pressure sensitivity analysis,pressure-swing distillation was determined and the optimal separation pressure of each column in the process was obtained.Due to the composition of waste liquids produced were quite different in MMA production,the pressure-swing distillation separation process was designed to fully achieve the accurate waste liquids treatment.Taking the total annual cost(TAC)as the target,the sequential iteration method was used to optimize the process,and the impact of composition on economy was compared.In order to further realize the energy-saving of the separation process,the pervaporation membrane module was introduced to pretreat the waste liquid in the pressure-swing distillation.The results showed that the TAC of the coupling process was 46% higher than that of the pressure-swing distillation process,and the thermodynamic efficiency was 30% higher.This study provides waste liquid treatment technology for enterprises and analyzes its economic and energy efficiency,which has reference significance for the development of coupled separation technology.Hongru Zhang Yusen Chen Haiyang Cheng Yangyang Wang Peizhe Cui Shiqing Zheng Zhaoyou Zhu Yinglong Wang Yanyue Lu Jun Gao 2023Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,63,11:0
19A STIR nucleic acid drug delivery system for stirring phenotypic switch of microglia in Parkinson’s disease treatments显示文摘Neuroinflammation is one of the three important pathological features in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson’s disease(PD).The regulation of neuroinflammation can reduce the severity of neurological damage to alleviate diseases.Numerous studies have shown that the phenotype switch of microglia is tightly associated with the nuclear factorκB(NF-κB)-mediated inflammatory pathway.Therefore,the small interfering RNA(siRNA)therapy for downregulating the expression of NF-κB,provides a promising therapeutic strategy for Parkinson’s disease treatments.Considering the brain delivery challenges of siRNA,a sequential targeting inflammation regulation(STIR)delivery system based on poly(amino acid)s is developed to improve the therapeutic effects of Parkinson’s disease treatments.The STIR system sequentially targets the blood–brain barrier and the microglia to enhance the effective concentration of siRNA in the targeted microglia.The results demonstrate that the STIR nanoparticles can transform microglial phenotypes and regulate brain inflammation,thus achieving neuronal recovery and abnormal aggregation ofα-synuclein protein(α-syn)reduction in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.Herein,this STIR delivery system provides a promising therapeutic platform in PD treatments and has great potential for other neurodegenerative diseases’therapies.Yanyue Wu Wenli Wang Xinyu Qiu Zhiguo Lu Weihong Ji Jie Shen Huan Peng Ruichen Zhao Jingwen Wang Tianlu Zhang Jun Yang Xin Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
