| 1 | Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA. | Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1: | 29 |

| 3 | Large-eddy simulation of shock-wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction with and without Spark Jet control显示文摘The efficiency and mechanism of an active control device ‘‘Spark Jet' and its application in shock-induced separation control are studied using large-eddy simulation in this paper.The base flow is the interaction of an oblique shock-wave generated by 8° wedge and a spatially-developing Ma = 2.3 turbulent boundary layer.The Reynolds number based on the incoming flow property and the boundary layer displacement thickness at the impinging point without shock-wave is20000.The detailed numerical approaches were presented.The inflow turbulence was generated using the digital filter method to avoid artificial temporal or streamwise periodicity.The numerical results including velocity profile,Reynolds stress profile,skin friction,and wall pressure were systematically validated against the available wind tunnel particle image velocimetry(PIV) measurements of the same flow condition.Further study on the control of flow separation due to the strong shock-viscous interaction using an active control actuator ‘‘Spark Jet' was conducted.The single-pulsed characteristic of the device was obtained and compared with the experiment.Both instantaneous and time-averaged flow fields have shown that the jet flow issuing from the actuator cavity enhances the flow mixing inside the boundary layer,making the boundary layer more resistant to flow separation.Skin friction coefficient distribution shows that the separation bubble length is reduced by about 35% with control exerted. | Yang Guang Yao Yufeng Fang Jian Gan Tian Li Qiushi Lu Lipeng | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2016,29,3: | 8 |
| 4 | Optical conductivity-based ultrasensitive mid-infrared biosensing on a hybrid metasurface显示文摘Optical devices are highly attractive for biosensing as they can not only enable quantitative measurements of analytes but also provide information on molecular structures.Unfortunately,typical refractive index-based optical sensors do not have sufficient sensitivity to probe the binding of low-molecular-weight analytes.Non-optical devices such as field-effect transistors can be more sensitive but do not offer some of the significant features of optical devices,particularly molecular fingerprinting.We present optical conductivity-based mid-infrared(mid-IR)biosensors that allow for sensitive and quantitative measurements of low-molecular-weight analytes as well as the enhancement of spectral fingerprints.The sensors employ a hybrid metasurface consisting of monolayer graphene and metallic nano-antennas and combine individual advantages of plasmonic,electronic and spectroscopic approaches.First,the hybrid metasurface sensors can optically detect target molecule-induced carrier doping to graphene,allowing highly sensitive detection of low-molecular-weight analytes despite their small sizes.Second,the resonance shifts caused by changes in graphene optical conductivity is a well-defined function of graphene carrier density,thereby allowing for quantification of the binding of molecules.Third,the sensor performance is highly stable and consistent thanks to its insensitivity to graphene carrier mobility degradation.Finally,the sensors can also act as substrates for surfaceenhanced infrared spectroscopy.We demonstrated the measurement of monolayers of sub-nanometer-sized molecules or particles and affinity binding-based quantitative detection of glucose down to 200 pM(36 pg/mL).We also demonstrated enhanced fingerprinting of minute quantities of glucose and polymer molecules. | Yibo Zhu Zhaoyi Li Zhuang Hao Christopher DiMarco Panita Maturavongsadit Yufeng Hao Ming Lu Aaron Stein Qian Wang James Hone Nanfang Yu Qiao Lin | 2018 | Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1: | 6 |
| 5 | Expression patterns of the rice class I metallothionein gene family in response to lead stress in rice seedlings and functional complementation of its members in lead-sensitive yeast cells显示文摘Metallothioneins (MTs) are a group of low molecular mass and cysteine-rich proteins that can chelate heavy-metal ions. In this paper,Northern blot analysis was used to investigate the influence of lead stress on the expression patterns of 10 rice class I MT genes (OsMT-Is) in rice seedlings. With the ex-ception of OsMT-I-3b,the data demonstrate dynamic changes of 9 OsMT-I transcripts in response to Pb2+ treatment in rice seedling roots. Of these genes,transcription of OsMT-I-1a,OsMT-I-1b,OsMT-I-2c,OsMT-I-4a,OsMT-I-4b and OsMT-I-4c increased significantly,while transcription of OsMT-I-2a and OsMT-I-3a increased marginally. In contrast,the expression of OsMT-I-2b was inhibited. Pb2+ induced the expression of 6 OsMT-I genes in seedling shoots,but had no obvious effects on the expression of OsMT-I-1a,OsMT-I-1b,OsMT-I-4a and OsMT-I-4b. All the 10 OsMT-Is had enhanced lead tolerance when heterologously expressed in lead-sensitive yeast mutant cells. These results provide an expression profile of the rice MT gene family in response to Pb2+ stress in rice seedlings and demonstrate in-creased lead tolerance in sensitive yeast mutant cells expressing OsMT-Is. | 7 | Exploration of presence/absence variation and corresponding polymorphic markers in soybean genome显示文摘This study was designed to reveal the genome‐wide distribution of presence/absence variation(PAV) and to establish a database of polymorphic PAV markers in soybean. The 33 soybean whole‐genome sequences were compared to each other with that of Williams 82 as a reference genome. A total of 33,127 PAVs were detected and 28,912 PAV markers with their primer sequences were designed as the database NJAUSoyPAV_1.0. The PAVs scattered on whole genome while only 518(1.8%) overlapped with simple sequence repeats(SSRs) in BARCSOYSSR_1.0database. In a random sample of 800 PAVs, 713(89.13%) showed polymorphism among the 12 differential genotypes. Using 126 PAVs and 108 SSRs to test a Chinese soybean germplasm collection composed of 828 Glycine soja Sieb. et Zucc. and Glycine max(L.) Merr. accessions, the per locus allele number and its variation appeared less in PAVs than in SSRs. The distinctness among alleles/bands of PCR(polymerase chain reaction) products showed better in PAVs than in SSRs, potential in accurate marker‐assisted allele selection. | 13 | METTL5 stabilizes c-Myc by facilitating USP5 translation to reprogram glucose metabolism and promote hepatocellular carcinoma progression显示文摘Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world,with a high likelihood of metastasis and a dismal prognosis.The reprogramming of glucosemetabolism is critical in the development ofHCC.TheWarburg effect has recently been confirmed to occur in a variety of cancers,including HCC.However,little is known about the molecular biological mechanisms underlying the Warburg effect in HCC cells.In this study,we sought to better understand how methyltransferase 5,N6-adenosine(METTL5)controls the development of HCC and theWarburg effect.Methods:In the current study,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of METTL5 in HCC tissues and cell lines.Several different cell models and animal models were established to determine the role of METTL5 in glucose metabolism reprogramming and the underlying molecularmechanism of HCC.Glutathione-S-transferase pulldown,coimmunoprecipitation,RNA sequencing,non-targeted metabolomics,polysome profiling,and luciferase reporter assays were performed to investigate the molecular mechanisms of METTL5 in HCC cells.Results:We discovered that METTL5 drove glucose metabolic reprogramming to promote the proliferation and metastasis of HCC.Mechanistically,upregulation of METTL5 promoted c-Myc stability and thus activated its downstream glycolytic genes lactate dehydrogenase A(LDHA),enolase 1(ENO1),triosephosphate isomerase 1(TPI1),solute carrier family 2 member 1(SLC2A1),and pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2).The c-Box and ubiquitin binding domain(UBA)regions of ubiquitin specific peptidase 5(USP5)binded to c-Myc protein and inhibited K48-linked polyubiquitination of c-Myc.Further study revealed that METTL5 controled the USP5 translation process,which in turn regulated the ubiquitination of c-Myc.Furthermore,we identified cAMP responsive element binding protein 1(CREB1)/P300 as a critical transcriptional regulator ofMETTL5 that promoted the transcription of METTL5 in HCC.In patient-derived tumor xenograft(PDX)models,adenovirus-mediated knockout of METTL5 had a good antitumor effect and prolonged the survival of PDX-bearing mice.Conclusions:These findings point to a novel mechanism by which CREB1/P300-METTL5-USP5-c-Myc controls abnormal glucose metabolism and promotes tumor growth,suggesting that METTL5 is a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker for HCC. | Peng Xia Hao Zhang Haofeng Lu Kequan Xu Xiang Jiang Yuke Jiang Xiangdong Gongye Zhang Chen Jie Liu Xi Chen Weijie Ma Zhonglin Zhang Yufeng Yuan | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,3: | 3 |
| 14 | Machine learning helps improve diagnostic ability of subclinical keratoconus using Scheimpflug and OCT imaging modalities显示文摘Purpose:To develop an automated classification system using a machine learning classifier to distinguish clinically unaffected eyes in patients with keratoconus from a normal control population based on a combination of Scheimpflug camera images and ultra-high-resolution optical coherence tomography(UHR-OCT)imaging data.Methods:A total of 121 eyes from 121 participants were classified by 2 cornea experts into 3 groups:normal(50 eyes),with keratoconus(38 eyes)or with subclinical keratoconus(33 eyes).All eyes were imaged with a Scheimpflug camera and UHR-OCT.Corneal morphological features were extracted from the imaging data.A neural network was used to train a model based on these features to distinguish the eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.Fisher’s score was used to rank the differentiable power of each feature.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were calculated to obtain the area under the ROC curves(AUCs).Results:The developed classification model used to combine all features from the Scheimpflug camera and UHR-OCT dramatically improved the differentiable power to discriminate between normal eyes and eyes with subclinical keratoconus(AUC=0.93).The variation in the thickness profile within each individual in the corneal epithelium extracted from UHR-OCT imaging ranked the highest in differentiating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.Conclusion:The automated classification system using machine learning based on the combination of Scheimpflug camera data and UHR-OCT imaging data showed excellent performance in discriminating eyes with subclinical keratoconus from normal eyes.The epithelial features extracted from the OCT images were the most valuable in the discrimination process.This classification system has the potential to improve the differentiable power of subclinical keratoconus and the efficiency of keratoconus screening. | Ce Shi Mengyi Wang Tiantian Zhu Ying Zhang Yufeng Ye Jun Jiang Sisi Chen Fan Lu Meixiao Shen | 2020 | Eye and Vision2020,7,1: | 3 |

| 17 | Control system for cryogenic permanent magnet undulator(CPMU)of high energy photon source(HEPS)显示文摘Background High energy photon source(HEPS)is the fourth-generation light source,which uses a large number of highperformance insertion devices to generate synchrotron radiation.The control system is an important part of the insertion device(ID).Purpose Cryogenic permanent magnet undulator(CPMU)is one kind of IDs that works in liquid nitrogen temperature and ultra-high vacuum environment,and its control system is more difficult and complex than in-air ID.The design of the control system for CPMU will be introduced in detail.Method The sub-systems include high-precision magnetic gap control,safety protection,measurement and compensation of magnetic gap at cryogenic temperature and cryogenic temperature monitoring.Mature,reliable,stable technical schemes are designed to meet the technical specifications of sub-systems.Results The experiment results show that the magnetic gap motion accuracy can be controlled within 0.2–0.3μm under the step size of 1μm.The safety protection system has been tested in turn,and the predetermined protection can be achieved.The average value of magnetic gap cold contraction is 1.512 mm measured by optical micrometer,and the compensation is realized by software.The average temperature of the main magnet structure measured by the temperature sensors is 81.0 K,and the temperature gradient is 0.7 K/m.The temperature monitoring is reliable and stable.Conclusion The CPMU control system which is based on EPICS has been successfully applied to the CPMU prototype,and the test results have met the design specifications. | Shutao Zhao Jianshe Cao Huihua Lu Xiaoyu Li Shuchen Sun Yajun Sun Xiangzhen Zhang Lei Zhang Yuhui Li Zhiqiang Li Wan Chen Lingling Gong Qing Guo Keyun Gong Yongsheng Huang Yanwei Yang Yufeng Yang | 2021 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2021,5,1: | 2 |

| 19 | Evolution of micro-pores in a single crystal nickel-based superalloy during 980℃ creep显示文摘The evolution of micro-pores in a single crystal nickel-based superalloy during creep at 980 ℃/220 MPa was investigated by X-ray computed tomography. Time-dependent ex-situ 3D information including the number, volume fraction, distribution and morphology of micro-pores was analyzed. The results reveal that the signifi cant formation and growth of micro-pores occur at the end of secondary/beginning of tertiary creep stage. The irregular large pores as well as high density pores located at strain concentration region are the major detrimental factors facilitating the creep damage.
