1Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA.Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang 2014Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1:29
2Dynamic Changes in the Wetland Landscape Pattern of the Yellow River Delta from 1976 to 2016 Based on Satellite Data显示文摘The Yellow River Delta wetland is the youngest wetland ecosystem in China's warm temperate zone. To better understand how its landscape pattern has changed over time and the underlying factors responsible, this study analyzed the dynamic changes of wetlands using five Landsat series of images, namely MSS(Mulri Spectral Scanner), TM(Thematic Mapper), and OLI(Operational Land Imager) sensors in 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016. Object-oriented classification and the combination of spatial and spectral features and both the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) and Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI), as well as brightness characteristic indices, were used to classify the images in eCognition software. Landscape pattern changes in the Yellow River Delta over the past 40 years were then delineated using transition matrix and landscape index methods. Results show that: 1) from1976 to 2016, the total area of wetlands in the study area decreased from 2594.76 to 2491.79 km^2, while that of natural wetlands decreased by 954.03 km^2 whereas human-made wetlands increased by 851.06 km^2. 2) The transformation of natural wetlands was extensive: 31.34% of those covered by Suaeda heteropteras were transformed into reservoirs and ponds, and 24.71% with Phragmites australis coverage were transformed into dry farmland. Some human-made wetlands were transformed into non-wetlands types: 1.55% of reservoirs and ponds became construction land, and likewise 21.27% were transformed into dry farmland. 3) From 1976 to 2016, as the intensity of human activities increased, the number of landscape types in the study area continuously increased. Patches were scattered and more fragmented. The whole landscape became more complex. In short, over the past 40 years, the wetlands of the Yellow River Delta have been degraded, with the area of natural wetlands substantially reduced. 3Comparison of the postoperative pain change and spinal stenosis rate between percutaneous vertebroplasty combined with radiofrequency ablation and with ^(125)I particle implantation in the treatment of metastatic spinal cord compression:A retrospective st显示文摘Background context:Metastatic spinal cord compression(MSCC)seriously affects the survival rate.Objective:The therapeutic effects of two treatment strategies for MSCC:percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)combined with radiofrequency ablation(RFA)and PVP combined with^(125)I particle implantation,were compared.Study design:Retrospective study.Patient sample:40 patients with MSCC were divided into two groups:19 cases in the RFA group and 21 cases in the^(125)I group.Method:All patients were accessed to determine the differences in pain,which was evaluated using the visual analog scale(VAS)at 1 week,1 month,and 3 months after the operation,and spinal stenosis rates(SSRs),which were measured at 1 and 3 months after the operation,between the two groups.Results:The VAS scores and SSRs at baseline were comparable between the RFA group and the^(125)I group(7.19±2.07 vs 7.42±1.95,37.7%±11.2%vs 41.1%±11.4%).The VAS scores and SSRs at 1 month and 3 months after the operation were significantly reduced in both groups,compared with those at baseline.The VAS scores and SSRs in the^(125)I group were lower than those in the RFA group at 3 months after the operation(1.09±0.97 vs 1.75±1.06 p=0.048 and 12.3%±6.4%vs 18.1%±10.1%p=0.034),while the VAS scores at1 week after the operation in the RFA group were lower than those in the^(125)I group(4.39±1.34 vs 5.05±1.82 p=0.049).Conclusion:PVP combined with RFA has a slight advantage in relieving pain in the short term,while PVP combined with^(125)I particle implantation may have a better effect in the relieving pain and decreasing the SSRs at 3 months after the operation.Yu He Shilong Han Chungen Wu Fei Ge Jianbo Wang 2021Journal of Interventional Medicine2021,4,4:4
4Peroxyacetyl nitrate observed in Beijing in August from 2005 to 2009显示文摘Measurements of peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) were made at a Beijing urban site each August from2005 to 2009. Over this 5-year period, the average PAN concentration for August in each year increased from 3(2005) to 11.7 μg/m3(2007); however, it decreased rapidly in 2008(4.1 μg/m3).Generally, the variation over the 5 years showed a rise in the first part of the study period,followed by a decline. We considered two categories of local and regional air masses in this study, which revealed that the PAN concentration in Beijing was affected mainly by southeastern air masses. The August PAN variation was influenced predominantly by local air masses in 2005,but by 2009 regional air masses had become more important. This study showed the level and variation of PAN in the month of August in 5 consecutive years for the first time, and proved that control measures are useful in decreasing photochemical pollution; hence, these measures are probably feasible for other megacities too. 6Immune responses of dendritic cells combined with tumor-derived autophagosome vaccine on hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Background:To induce and collect tumor-derived autophagosomes(DRibbles) from tumor cells as an antitumor vaccine by inhibiting the functions of proteasomes and lysosomes.Methods:Dendritic cells(DCs) generated from peripheral blood mononuclear cell(PBMC) of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients were cocultured with DRibbles,and then surface molecules of DCs,as well as surface molecules on DCs,were determined by flow cytometry.Meanwhile,immune responses of the DCs-DRibbles were examined by mixed lymphocyte reactions.Results:DRibbles significantly induced the expression of CD80,CD83,CD86 and HLA-DR on DCs.The enzyme-linked immunosorbnent assay(ELISA) showed that IFN-γ levels after vaccination increased than before in most patients,but CD8+ proportion of PBMC increased only in nine patients.Higher levels of IFN-γ were detected in the CD8+ cells than CD4+ T cells.These results suggested that DCs-DRibbles vaccine could induce antigen-specific cellular immune response on HCC and could prime strong CD8+ T cell responses,supporting it as a tumor vaccine candidate.Conclusions:Our results demonstrate that HCC/DRibbles-pulsed DCs immunotherapy might be deployed as an effective antitumor vaccine for HCC immunotherapy in clinical trials.Yongxiang Yi Jianbo Han Liang Zhao Chunying Wang Yuan Fang Qiang Wei Liang Hu Junmao Liu Yufeng Zhang Lili Wang 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6:2

9Differential SW16.1 allelic effects and genetic backgrounds contributed to increased seed weight after soybean domestication显示文摘Although seed weight has increased following domestication from wild soybean(Glycine soja) to cultivated soybean(Glycine max), the genetic basis underlying this change is unclear. Using mapping populations derived from chromosome segment substitution lines of wild soybean, we identified SW16.1 as the causative gene underlying a major quantitative trait locus controlling seed weight.SW16.1 encodes a nucleus-localized LIM domaincontaining protein. Importantly, the GsSW16.1 allele from wild soybean accession N24852 had a negative effect on seed weight, whereas the GmSW16.1 allele from cultivar NN1138-2 had a positive effect. Gene expression network analysis,reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and promoter-luciferase reporter transient expression assays suggested that SW16.1 regulates the transcription of MT4, a positive regulator of seed weight. The natural variations in SW16.1 and other known seed weight genes were analyzed in soybean germplasm. The SW16.1 polymorphism was associated with seed weight in 247 soybean accessions, showing much higher frequency of positive-effect alleles in cultivated soybean than in wild soybean. Interestingly,gene allele matrix analysis of the known seed weight genes revealed that G. max has lost 38.5%of the G. soja alleles and that most of the lost alleles had negative effects on seed weight. 16Craniometrical evidence for population admixture between Eastern and Western Eurasians in Bronze Age southwest Xinjiang显示文摘Xinjiang,the most northwest provincial administrative area of China,was the area where the oriental people met the occidental.The populations in Xinjiang exhibit very high genetic diversity.Previous study revealed that the eastern Xinjiang populations of the Bronze Age were mixed by the Eastern and the Western Eurasians.However,few studies have been performed to reveal when the population admixture started and how far to the west it reached.In this paper,we studied 148 craniofacial traits of 18 skulls from the Bronze Age Liushui graveyard in Khotan(Keriya County) in the southwest of Xinjiang.Seventeen craniometrical parameters of the Khotan samples were then compared with those of other ancient samples from around Xinjiang using dendrogram cluster analysis,principal components analysis,and multidimensional scaling.The results indicated that population sample of Liushui graveyard was mixed by the Western and Eastern Eurasians with about 79% contribution from the east.Therefore,we demonstrated that population admixture between east and west Eurasia can be traced back to as early as 1000 BC in southwest Xinjiang.TAN JingZe LI LiMing ZHANG JianBo FU WenQing , GUAN HaiJuan2, AO Xue2,WANG LingE1, WU XinHua3, HAN KangXin3, JIN Li1'2 & LI Hui1'2. 17Identification of two glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase genes in maize leaf phosphorus remobilization显示文摘Phosphate deficiency is one of the leading causes of crop productivity loss.Phospholipid degradation liberates phosphate to cope with phosphate deficiency.Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterases(GPX-PDEs)hydrolyse the intermediate products of phospholipid catabolism glycerophosphodiesters into glycerol-3-phosphate,a precursor of phosphate.However,the function of GPX-PDEs in phosphate remobilization in maize remains unclear.In the present study,we characterized two phosphate deficiency-inducible GPX-PDE genes,ZmGPX-PDE1 and ZmGPX-PDE5,in maize leaves.ZmGPX-PDE1 and ZmGPX-PDE5 were transcriptionally regulated by ZmPHR1,a well-described phosphate starvation-responsive transcription factor of the MYB family.Complementation of the yeast GPX-PDE mutant gde1Δindicated that ZmGPX-PDE1 and ZmGPX-PDE5 functioned as GPX-PDEs,suggesting their roles in phosphate recycling from glycerophosphodiesters.In vitro enzyme assays showed that ZmGPX-PDE1 and ZmGPX-PDE5 catalysed glycerophosphodiester degradation with different substrate preferences for glycerophosphoinositol and glycerophosphocholine,respectively.ZmGPX-PDE1 was upregulated during leaf senescence,and more remarkably,loss of ZmGPXPDE1 inmaize compromised the remobilization of phosphorus fromsenescing leaves to young leaves,resulting in a stay-green phenotype under phosphate starvation.These results suggest that ZmGPX-PDE1 catalyses the degradation of glycerophosphodiesters in maize,promoting phosphate recycling from senescing leaves to new leaves.This mechanism is crucial for improving phosphorus utilization efficiency in crops.Jingxin Wang Wenbo Pan Alexiy Nikiforov William King Wanting Hong Weiwei Li Yang Han Jana Patton-Vogt Jianbo Shen Lingyun Cheng 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,1:1
18Estimated HCFC-142b emissions in China: 2000–2050显示文摘1-Chloro-1,1-difluoroethane(HCFC-142b)was both ozone depleting substance under restriction of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer(Montreal Protocol)and potent greenhouse gas with high GWP.Controlling its emissions in China will contribute to both mitigating climate change and protecting ozone.A national emission inventory of HCFC-142b for China during 2000–2012 was established and projected to2050 based on the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories and the Montreal Protocol,showing that(i)in contrast to the downward trend revealed by existing researches,HCFC-142b emissions kept increasing from 0.1 kt/y in 2000 to the peak of 14.4 kt/y in2012,making China a crucial contributor to global HCFC-142b emissions and(ii)for future emission projections,a continuous increase from 14.9 kt/y in 2013 to 97.2 kt/y in2050 was anticipated under the business-as-usual(BAU)scenarios,while a reduction of about 90%of the projected BAU emissions would be obtained by fulfilling the Montreal Protocol,namely an accumulative mitigation of 1578kt HCFC-142b from 2013 to 2050,equal to 103 kt ODP and 3504 Tg CO2emissions.Emissions from each province in 2012 were also estimated to identify key emission areas.Among the 31 mainland provinces in China(Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan were not included),Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Shandong,and Guangdong had the highest emission ratesin 2012(2.06,1.85,1.52,and 1.04 kt/y,respectively);Zhejiang,Jiangsu,and Shanghai exhibit the strongest emission strength(0.83,0.59,and 0.54 t/km2,respectively),much higher than the average national level of 0.33t/km2.Jiarui Han Li Li Shenshen Su Jing Wu Xuekun Fang Shenglan Jia Jianbo Zhang Jianxin Hu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,24:1
