| 1 | Indocyanine green clearance test and model for end-stage liver disease score of patients with liver cirrhosis显示文摘BACKGROUND:The indocyanine green(ICG)clearance test(clearance rate(K)and retention rate at 15 minutes (R15))is a sensitive indicator to evaluate liver function. The model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score has emerged as a useful tool for estimating the mortality of patients awaiting liver transplantation and has recently been validated on patients with liver diseases of various etiologies and severity.In this study,we investigated the correlation between the ICG clearance test and MELD score of patients with liver cirrhosis. METHODS:From June 2007 to March 2008,52 patients with liver cirrhosis admitted to our center were classified into Child-Pugh class A(8 patients),B(14)and C(30).The ICG clearance test(K value and R15)was performed by ICG pulse spectrophotometry(DDG-3300K),and the MELD scores of patients were calculated. RESULTS:As the Child-Pugh classification of liver function gradually deteriorated,the K value decreased, while R15 and MELD score increased.There were significant statistical differences in K value,R15 and MELD score in patients with different Child-Pugh classifications. Significant correlations were found between the parameters of the ICG clearance test(K value and R15)and MELD score.A negative correlation was observed between K value and MELD score(r=-0.892,P<0.05),while a positive correlation was observed between R15 and MELD score(r=0.804,P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:The ICG clearance test and MELD score are good parameters for evaluating liver function.Moreover, K value and R15 have significant correlations with MELD score,especially the K value,which may be a convenient and appropriate indicator to evaluate liver function of patients with liver cirrhosis. | Sheng, Qin-Song Lang, Ren He, Qiang Yang, Yong-Jiu Zhao, De-Fang Chen, Da-Zhi | 2009 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2009,8,1: | 37 |
| 2 | Laparoscopic cystogastrostomy for the treatment of pancreatic pseudocysts: A case report显示文摘Pancreatic pseudocysts(PPs) are collections o pancreatic secretions that are lined by fibrous tissue and may contain necrotic debris or blood. The interventions including percutaneous, endoscopic o surgical approaches are based on the size, location symptoms and complications of a pseudocyst With the availability of advanced imaging system and cameras, better hemostatic equipments and excellent laparoscopic techniques, most pseudocyst can be found and managed by laparoscopy. We describe a case of a 30-year-old male patient with a pancreatic pseudocyst amenable to laparoscopi cystogastrostomy. An incision was made through the anterior gastric wall to expose the posterior gastri wall in close contact with the pseudocyst using an ultrasonically activated scalpel. Then, another incision was made for cystogastrostomy to obtain complete and unobstructed drainage. | 3 | Establishment of an animal model of ischemic type intrahepatic biliary lesion in rabbits显示文摘AIM:To explore a method to establish an animal model of ischemic type intrahepatic biliary lesion in rabbits. METHODS:Forty Japanese white rabbits of clean grade were divided randomly into four groups(10 rabbits per group)including sham operation(SO) group,and artery-bile obstruction(ABO)-1 h group, ABO-2 h group and ABO-3 h group.All the rabbits in this study underwent the same initial surgical procedure in which the liver was prepared as for graft removal during liver transplantation.Subsequently in the SO group,no additional vascular intervention was performed,while in groups ABO-1 h,ABO-2 h and ABO-3 h,the animals underwent combined clamping of the hepatic artery and common bile duct with microvascular clips for 1,2 and 3 h,respectively.After the scheduled occlusion time,the clip was removed to recover blood supply.The animals were killed 4 wk after operation.The survival rate,liver function, cholangiography and histopathological manifestation of the rabbits in each group were observed. RESULTS:The survival rate was 100%in groups SO,ABO-1 h and ABO-2 h,while it was 60%in group ABO-3 h.At each observation time,the change degree of the indexes of liver function was proportional to the clamping time(ABO-3 h>ABO-2 h>ABO-1 h> SO,P<0.05).Cholangiographical and histopathologic manifestations both showed that intrahepatic biliary lesion aggravated proportionally with the increase of the clamping time. | 4 | Autoimmune pancreatitis:report of two cases and literature review显示文摘BACKGROUND:Autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP)is a unique chronic inflammation of the pancreas in which autoimmune mechanisms are involved in the pathogenesis.It is characterized by clinical,histopathological,radiographic,serologic and therapeutic features.Since it was first described in 1995,increasing numbers of AIP patients have been diagnosed.METHODS:In this study,the data from 2 patients with AIP who had elevation of serum immunoglobulin G,positive autoantibody,swelling of the pancreas and narrowing of the main pancreatic duct on imaging were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS:With the initial diagnosis of AIP,both patients underwent regular prednisone therapy,which was initiated at a dose of 40 mg per day with a tapering schedule of 5 mg every 2 weeks.The patients responded very well to treatment with prednisone.CONCLUSIONS:AIP is a relatively new disease entity.Although it is diagnosed by distinct characteristics of the clinical,radiologic,histopathologic,and serologic findings,many questions require further clarification,including its relationship to other autoimmune diseases and misdiagnosis as pancreaticobiliary malignancies. | Sheng, Qin-Song Chen, Da-Zhi Lang, Ren He, Qiang Han, Dong-Dong Pan, Fei Li, Ping Qu, Zhao-Wei | 2009 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2009,8,6: | 8 |
| 5 | In-situ cosmogenic ^(36)Cl denudation rates of carbonates in Guizhou karst area显示文摘This study quantifies surface denudation of carbonate rocks by the first application of in-situ cosmogenic36Cl in China. Concentrations of natural Cl and in-situ cosmogenic36Cl in bare carbonates from Guizhou karst areas were measured with isotope dilution by accelerator mass spectrometer. The Cl concentration varied from 16 to 206 ppm. The 36Cl concentrations were in range of (0.8-2.4)106 atom g-1 , resulting in total denudation rates of 20-50 mm ka-1 that averaged over a 104-105 a timescale. The 36Cl-denudation rates showed roughly a negative correlation with the local mean temperature. | 6 | Giant hepatobiliary cystadenoma in a male with obvious convex papillate显示文摘Hepatobiliary cystadenoma is an uncommon lesion that is most often found in middle-aged women and difficult to diagnose preoperatively.Here,we report a case of giant hepatobiliary cystadenoma in a male patient with obvious convex papillate.On the basis of imaging examinations,the patient was diagnosed as hepatobiliary cystadenoma prior to operation. | 7 | Preventive effects of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell implantation on intrahepatic ischemic-type biliary lesion in rabbits显示文摘BACKGROUND:The ischemic-type biliary lesion(ITBL)is one of the most serious biliary complications of liver transplantation. This study aimed to investigate the effects of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell(BM-MNC)implantation on neovascularization and the prevention of intrahepatic ITBL in a rabbit model. METHODS:The rabbits were divided into control,experimental model,and cell implantation groups,with 10 in each group. The model of intrahepatic ITBL was established by clamping the hepatic artery and common bile duct.Autologous BM-MNCs were isolated from the tibial plateau by density gradient centrifugation and were implanted through the common hepatic artery.Changes in such biochemical markers as aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase,total bilirubin and direct bilirubin were measured.Four weeks after operation, cholangiography,histopathological manifestations,differentiation of BM-MNCs,microvessel density and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor were assessed. RESULTS:Compared with the experimental model group, the BM-MNC implantation group showed superiority in the time to recover normal biochemistry.The microvessel density and vascular endothelial growth factor expression of the implantation group were significantly higher than those of the control and experimental model groups.The ITBL in the experimental model group was more severe than that in the implantation group and fewer new capillary blood vessels occurred around it.CONCLUSIONS:Implanted autologous BM-MNCs can differentiate into vascular endothelial cells,promote neovascu-larization and improve the blood supply to the ischemic bile duct,and this provides a new way to diminish or prevent intrahepatic ITBL after liver transplantation. | Qu, Zhao-Wei Chen, Da-Zhi Sheng, Qin-Song Lang, Ren He, Qiang Wang, Ming-Feng | 2010 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010,9,6: | 4 |

| 20 | Extending aromatic acids on TiO_(2)for cooperative photocatalysis with triethylamine:Violet light-induced selective aerobic oxidation of sulfides显示文摘Designing visible light photocatalysts with a metal oxide semiconductor as the starting material could expand a new horizon for the conversion and storage of solar energy.Here,the benchmark photocatalyst TiO_(2) was used to pursue this goal by anchoring aromatic acids.Extending the aromatic acid was strategically deployed to design TiO_(2) complexes with violet light-induced selective aerobic oxidation of sulfide as the probe reaction.With benzoic acid(BA)as the initial molecule,horizontally extending one or two benzene rings furnishes 2-naphthoic acid(2-NA)and 2-anthracene acid(2-AA).Moreover,triethylamine(TEA),an electron transfer mediator,was introduced to maintain the integrity of the anchored aromatic acids.Notably,there was a direct correlation between theπ-conjugation of aromatic acid ligand and the selective aerobic oxidation of sulfides.Among the three aromatic acids,2-AA delivered the best result over TiO_(2) due to the most extensiveπ-conjugated system.Ultimately,violet light-induced selective aerobic oxidation of sulfides into corresponding sulfoxides was conveniently realized by cooperative photocatalysis of 2-AA-TiO_(2) with 10 mol%of TEA.This work affords an extending strategy for designing the next-generation ligands for semiconductors to expand visible light-induced selective reactions. | Hui Li Xia Li Jun Zhou Wenlong Sheng Xianjun Lang | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8: | 0 |
