1Starch/polyvinyl alcohol blended materials used as solid carbon source for tertiary denitrification of secondary efuent显示文摘Starch/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) blended materials for using as a solid carbon source(SCS) were prepared by blending PVA and gelatinized starch in an aqueous solution system, in which PVA served as framework material and starch as carbon source. The optimization of starch content and temperature efects were investigated. It was indicated that higher denitrification efciency could be achieved with more starch in the materials. The average specific denitrification rates were 0.93, 0.66, 0.37 and 0.36 mg/(g·day)corresponding to starch content of 70%, 60%, 40% and 30% respectively at 37°C. The denitrification rates increased when operating temperature was raised from 23°C to 30°C and then 37°C. The mechanism of carbon release was analyzed incorporating the experimental results of abiotic release in deionized water. The organic carbon was mainly hydrolyzed by microbes, and the biological release efciencies were at the range of 89.2% to 96.0%. A long-term experiment with a continuous flow reactor with SCS material containing 70% starch was conducted to gain some experience for practical application. When the influent nitrate concentration was in the range of 35.2 to 39.1 mg/L, hydraulic retention time of 4 hr, and operating temperature of 30°C, a nitrogen removal efciency up to94.6% and denitrification rate of 0.217 kg/(m3·day) was achieved. 2Experimental research on hydrophilic characteristics of natural soft rock at high stress state显示文摘In order to study features of rock–water interaction, a self-developed experimental system called Intelligent Testing System for Water Absorption in Deep Soft Rocks(ITSWADSR) was utilized to analyze the hydrophilic behaviors of natural soft rock at high stress state. Combining X-ray diffraction and mercury injection test, main influencing factors on hydrophilic characteristics were studied. According to the results, it could be concluded as the following:(1) the effective porosity, and the content of illite, illite/smectite formation(S = 5%) and kaolinite have positive correlation with the water absorption capacity of rock; meanwhile, the initial moisture content, fractal dimension of effective pores, illite/smectite formation(S = 30%) and chlorite present negative correlation;(2) among the positive factors, the ascending order is kaolinite, illite/smectite formation(S = 5%) and illite;(3) the descending order among the negative factors are chlorite, illite/smectite formation(S = 30%) and fractal dimension of the effective pores;(4) influence of effective porosity on the pressurized water absorbing capacity of rock is minimal, while it is maximal in the process of no pressurized water absorption.Guo Hongyun Lei Xiangyang Zhang Yumei Yang Guoxing Niu Zhang 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,3:10
3Confined spaces path following for cable-driven snake robots with prediction lookup and interpolation algorithms显示文摘While cable-driven snake robots are promising in exploring confined spaces, their hyper-redundancy makes the collision-free motion planning difficult. In this paper, by combining the prediction lookup and interpolation algorithms, we present a new path following method for cable-driven snake robots to high-efficiently slither into complex terrains along a desired path. In our method, we first discretize the desired path into points, and develop the prediction lookup algorithm to efficiently find the points matched with joints of the robot. According to geometric relations between the prediction lookup results and link length of the robot, we develop the interpolation algorithm to reduce the tracking errors caused by the discretization. Finally, simulations and experiments of inspections in two confined spaces including the obstacle array and pipe tank system are performed on our custom-built 25 degree of freedoms(DOFs) cable-driven snake robot. 7Different Ablation Models for the Wall-plasma Interaction Process in Pulsed Plasma Thruster显示文摘Ablation excited by current pulses is a very critical physical process in pulse plasma thrusters(PPT).Its effects on wall-plasma interaction directly determine the PPT performances.In order to reveal the process of the ablated wall interaction with the discharge plasma in PPT,ablation models formulated by three different boundary conditions at the wall-plasma interface are studied.These are the two widely used high-speed evaporation models(Model-L and Model-M),and the recently developed Keida-Zaghloul model(Model-K)of the Knudsen layer that takes into account the internal degrees of freedom on the energy flux conservation.First,fundamental mechanisms of the three ablation models are clarified by comparative analysis in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the wall-plasma interaction.Then,the applicability of different ablation models with the numerical solutions of LES-6 PPT is investigated in detail using magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)modeling.Results show that Model-L and Model-M are actually special cases of Model-K when a simplified jump conditions limited by high velocity at the vapor/plasma interface is used;A ratio of ablation rate in Model-L to that in Model-M is about 0.8at the same wall surface temperature,while it rises to 1 at different surface temperature determined by Model-L and Model-M in PPT.Even though Model-K solution requires significant computational time,it shows more accurate ablation feature for the wall-plasma interaction and possesses better computing precision of impulse bit during post-pulse which is useful for future studies of the late time ablation.YANG Lei LIU Xiangyang WANG Siyu XIE Kan WU Zhiwen WANG Ningfei 2013高电压技术2013,39,9:3
8A quasi-3D Fano resonance cavity on optical fiber end-facet for high signal-to-noise ratio dip-and-read surface plasmon sensing显示文摘Surface plasmon devices mounted at the end-facets of optical fibers are appealing candidates for rapid and point-of-care sensing applications,by offering a special dip-and-read operation mode.At present,these devices’noise-equivalent limits-of-detection lag far behind the free-space counterparts,leaving them incapable of most biosensing applications.Here we report a quasi-3D Fano resonance cavity and its fabrication method to fundamentally improve the quality factor and coupling efficiency for fiber-coupled surface plasmon resonance.In this device,the Fano resonance combines the high coupling efficiency of a Fabry-Pérot etalon and the high quality factor resonance of a plasmonic crystal cavity.The quasi-3D device was fabricated on a planar substrate and transferred to a single-mode fiber end-facet,which requires a low-adhesion yet surface-plasmon-tunneling interface between the device and the planar substrate.Such an interface was realized with a nanocap-slit unit structure,of which the plasmonic crystal was consisted.A noise-equivalent limit of detection of~10-7 RIU was experimentally obtained,allowing bovine serum albumin physical adsorption to be distinguished at ng mL-1 level concentrations.Therefore,breaking through the long-standing signal-to-noise ratio bottleneck,this work makes fiber end-facet surface plasmon devices into one of high sensitivity label-free sensing technologies.At the same time,it provides an enabling top-down fabrication technology for making 3D plasmonic structures on fiber end-facets at the nanometer scale.Xiaqing Sun Zeyu Lei Hao Zhong Chenjia He Sihang Liu Qingfeng Meng Qingwei Liu Shengfu Chen Xiangyang Kong Tian Yang 2022Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2022,3,4:2

10Operational-space wrench and acceleration capability analysis for multi-link cable-driven robots显示文摘Multi-link cable-driven robots(MCDRs)have potential advantages in confined spaces exploration because of their redundancy and flexibility.Operational space wrench and acceleration capability analysis of MCDRs is important for their design,manipulability optimization,and motion planning.However,existing works mainly focus on capability analysis in the joint space.In this paper,we present a zonotope-based iterative method and a simplified capability zonotope to analyze the operational-space wrench and acceleration capability of MCDRs.In the iterative method,the capability generated by some cables can be iteratively added to the initial capability zonotope based on the Minkowski sum.In the simplified zonotope capability representation,a threshold is put forward to reduce redundant vertices and faces with little volume loss.Finally,simulations on a 24 DOFs MCDR are performed to verify the effectiveness of the developed method.The results demonstrate that our iterative algorithm can easily generate the capability zonotope with a few MB ROM,while traditional operational wrench capability evaluation without our iterative algorithm needs 18432 GB ROM.Furthermore,our simplified representation reduces the vertices and faces from 1260 and 2516 to 88 and 172,respectively,but with only 3.3%volume loss,which decreases the constraints of the robot and is conducive to manipulability optimization and motion planning.SHENG XinJun TANG Lei HUANG XinJia ZHU LiMin ZHU XiangYang GU GuoYing 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10:1

15Identification of serum metabolites enhancing inflammatory responses in COVID-19显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),is characterized by a strong production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF and IL-6,which underlie the severity of the disease.However,the molecular mechanisms responsible for such a strong immune response remains unclear.Here,utilizing targeted tandem mass spectrometry to analyze serum metabolome and lipidome in COVID-19 patients at different temporal stages,we identified that 611 metabolites(of 1,039)were significantly altered in COVID-19 patients.Among them,two metabolites,agmatine and putrescine,were prominently elevated in the serum of patients;and 2-quinolinecarboxylate was changed in a biphasic manner,elevated during early COVID-19 infection but levelled off.When tested in mouse embryonic fibroblasts(MEFs)and macrophages,these 3 metabolites were found to activate the NF-κB pathway that plays a pivotal role in governing cytokine production.Importantly,these metabolites were each able to cause strong increase of TNF and IL-6 levels when administered to wildtype mice,but not in the mice lacking NF-κB.Intriguingly,these metabolites have little effects on the activation of interferon regulatory factors(IRFs)for the production of type I interferons(IFNs)for antiviral defenses.These data suggest that circulating metabolites resulting from COVID-19 infection may act as effectors to elicit the peculiar systemic inflammatory responses,exhibiting severely strong proinflammatory cytokine production with limited induction of the interferons.Our study may provide a rationale for development of drugs to alleviate inflammation in COVID-19 patients.Chen-Song Zhang Bingchang Zhang Mengqi Li Xiaoyan Wei Kai Gong Zhiyong Li Xiangyang Yao Jianfeng Wu Cixiong Zhang Mingxia Zhu Lei Zhang Xiufeng Sun Yi-Hong Zhan Zhengye Jiang Wenpeng Zhao Wei Zhong Xinguo Zhuang Dawang Zhou Hai-Long Piao Sheng-Cai Lin Zhanxiang Wang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,10:1
