| 1 | Corrosion Mechanism of Corrosion-Resistant Steel Developed for Bottom Plate of Cargo Oil Tanks显示文摘A new type of corrosion-resistant steel consisting of ferrite and bainite phases was developed for cargo oil tanks of crude oil tankers. The corrosion rate of this new steel was 0.22 mm/a, which was equivalent to ca. 1/5 of the criterion ( ≤ 1 mm/a) for corrosion-resistant steels. The composition and element distribution of the corrosion products were investigated by micro-Raman spectrometry and energy dispersive spectrometer. The results demonstrated that the corrosion product was composed of α-FeOOH, Fe3O4 and a continuous Cu enrichment layer. | 4 | Disinfection byproduct formation from algal organic matters after ozonation or ozone combined with activated carbon treatment with subsequent chlorination显示文摘Algal organic matter(AOM),including extracellular organic matter(EOM)and intracellular organic matter(IOM)from algal blooms,is widely accepted as essential precursors of disinfection byproducts(DBPs).This study evaluated the effect of ozonation or ozone combined with activated carbon(O_(3)-AC)treatment on characteristic alternation and DBP formation with subsequent chlorination of Chlorella sp..The effects of p H and bromide concentration on DBP formation by ozonation or O_(3)-AC treatment were also investigated.Results showed that the potential formation of DBPs might be attributed to ozonation,but these DBP precursors could be further removed by activated carbon(AC)treatment.Moreover,the formation of target DBPs was controlled at acidic pH by alleviating the reactions between chlorine and AOM.Besides,the bromide substitution factor(BSF)value of trihalomethanes(THMs)from EOM and IOM remained constant after AC treatment.However,THM precursors could be significantly decreased by AC treatment.The above results indicated that O_(3)-AC was a feasible treatment method for algal-impacted water. | Qiufeng Lin Feilong Dong Cong Li Junkui Cui | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6: | 2 |

| 6 | Experimental Study on Impingement and Film Overall Cooling Characteristics of Turbine Shroud显示文摘Based on the variable characteristics of the actual operating conditions of the turbine shroud and the purpose of improving the cooling effect of the turbine shroud,this paper builds a test system of the impingement-film cooling shroud with two gas inlet angles(90°,167°).The effects of film cooling hole arrangement,gas inlet angle,blowing ratio(0.7,1.0,1.5,2.0,2.5,3.0)and temperature ratio(1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5,1.6)on the cooling characteristics of the impingement-film cooling shroud were experimentally studied by infrared temperature measurement technology,especially the effects of gas inlet angle and temperature ratio.The results showed that the film covering effect of the film cooling hole vertical or the same direction of the high-temperature gas incoming flow is better than the film covering effect of the reverse direction with the incoming flow,and the optimal arrangement of film cooling holes can improve the cooling effectiveness of the shroud.Compared with 90°intake gas,the film coverage area on the shroud surface of the 167°intake gas is expanded,and the surface average overall cooling effectiveness is increased by 1.03%to 12.6%.The overall cooling effectiveness of turbine shroud increases with the increase of blowing ratio,which increases the flow rate and pressure of cooling gas,and the corresponding increase rate is between 1.04%and 9.96%.However,the increase in the temperature ratio increases the mainstream heating capacity,resulting in a decrease in the cooling effectiveness of the shroud,with a maximum reduction rate of 11.04%. | LI Ziqiang WANG Longfei MAO Junkui BI Shuai WANG Feilong | 2022 | Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,1: | 1 |
| 7 | On the Role of Heterogeneous Nanopore Junction in Osmotic Power Generation显示文摘Summary of main observation and conclusion Osmotic power generated by mixing ionic solutions of different concentration is an underutilized clean energy resource that satisfy potentially the ever-growing energy demand. For decades, substantial efforts are made to enhance the power density. Toward this goal, we once developed a heterogeneous nanoporous membrane comprising of heterojunctions between negatively charged mesoporous carb on and positively charged macroporous alumina to harvest electric power from salinity differe nee and achieved outsta nding performance (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2014, 136, 12265). The heterogeneous nanopore junction effectively suppresses ion concentration polarization (ICP) at low concentrmtion end, and consequently promotes the overall power density. However, to date, a systematic understanding of the role of the heterogeneous nanopore junction in osmotic energy con version remains urgent and largely unexplored. Herei n, we provide an in-depth theoretical in vestigation on this issue with special emphasis on several in flue ntial factors, such as the ionic con centratio n, the surface charge density, and the geometry of heteroge neous part. To balance the suppression of ICP and maintenance of charge selectivity, we find that these influential factors in the heterogeneous part should be restricted to a specific range. | 12 | Donor age and body weight determine the effects of fecal microbiota transplantation on growth performance,and fecal microbiota development in recipient pigs显示文摘Background:The application of fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)to improve swine growth performance has been sporadically studied.Most of these studies used a single microbiota source and thus the effect of donor characteristics on recipient pigs’fecal microbiota development and growth performance is largely unknown.Results:In this study,we collected feces from six donors with heavy(H)or light(L)body weight and different ages(d 42,nursery;d 96,growing;and d 170,finisher)to evaluate their effects on the growth performance and fecal microbiota development of recipient pigs.Generally,recipients that received two doses of FMT from nursery and finisher stages donor at weaning(21±2 days of age)inherited the donor’s growth pattern,while the pigs gavaged with grower stage material exerted a numerically greater weight gain than the control pigs regardless of donor BW.FMT from heavier donors(NH,GH,and FH)led to the recipients to have numerically increased growth compared to their lighter counterparts(NL,GL,and FL,respectively)throughout the growing and most finishing stages.This benefit could be attributed to the enrichment of ASV25 Faecalibacterium,ASV61 Faecalibacterium,ASV438 Coriobacteriaceae_unclassified,ASV144 Bulleidia,and ASV129 Oribacterium and decrease of ASV13 Escherichia during nursery stage.Fecal microbiota transplantation from growing and finishing donors influenced the microbial community significantly in recipient pigs during the nursery stage.FMT of older donors’gut microbiota expedited recipients’microbiota maturity on d 35 and 49,indicated by increased estimated microbiota ages.The ageassociated bacterial taxa included ASV206 Ruminococcaceae,ASV211 Butyrivibrio,ASV416 Bacteroides,ASV2 Streptococcus,and ASV291 Veillonellaceae.The body weight differences between GL and GH pigs on d 104 were associated with the increased synthesis of the essential amino acid,lysine and methionine,mixed acid fermentation,expedited glycolysis,and sucrose/galactose degradation.Conclusions:Overall,our study provided insights into how donor age and body weight affect FMT outcomes regarding growth performance,microbiota community shifts,and lower GI tract metabolic potentials.This study also provided guidance to select qualified donors for future fecal microbiota transplantation. | Xiaofan Wang Tsungcheng Tsai Bin Zuo Xiaoyuan Wei Feilong Deng Ying Li Charles V.Maxwell Hua Yang Yingping Xiao Jiangchao Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,5: | 1 |
