1Bone physiological microenvironment and healing mechanism:Basis for future bone-tissue engineering scaffolds显示文摘Bone-tissue defects affect millions of people worldwide.Despite being common treatment approaches,autologous and allogeneic bone grafting have not achieved the ideal therapeutic effect.This has prompted researchers to explore novel bone-regeneration methods.In recent decades,the development of bone tissue engineering(BTE)scaffolds has been leading the forefront of this field.As researchers have provided deep insights into bone physiology and the bone-healing mechanism,various biomimicking and bioinspired BTE scaffolds have been reported.Now it is necessary to review the progress of natural bone physiology and bone healing mechanism,which will provide more valuable enlightenments for researchers in this field.This work details the physiological microenvironment of the natural bone tissue,bone-healing process,and various biomolecules involved therein.Next,according to the bone physiological microenvironment and the delivery of bioactive factors based on the bone-healing mechanism,it elaborates the biomimetic design of a scaffold,highlighting the designing of BTE scaffolds according to bone biology and providing the rationale for designing next-generation BTE scaffolds that conform to natural bone healing and regeneration.Guanyin Zhu Tianxu Zhang Miao Chen Ke Yao Xinqi Huang Bo Zhang Yazhen Li Jun Liu Yunbing Wang Zhihe Zhao 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:11
2DNA barcoding of 18 species of Bovidae显示文摘Genetic divergences of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I genes,known as DNA barcodes,have been used in species identification in the animal kingdom.Barcodes can assist field workers and taxonomists to determine groups in need of taxa analysis,and facilitate the recognition of appropriate populations and scales for conservation planning.In this study,18 species of Bovidae were selected to evaluate the effectiveness of DNA barcoding for species differentiation.The results showed that all but 2 species had unique DNA barcodes.The mean intraspecific variation was 0.63%,yielding a threshold of 6.3% for flagging putative species.The results supported the inference that barcode variation within species of mammals is somewhat higher than within other animal groups.The present study validated the effectiveness of barcoding for the identification of bovid species.CAI YanSen ZHANG Liang SHEN FuJun ZHANG WenPing HOU Rong YUE BiSong LI Jing ZHANG ZhiHe 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,2:10
3Preparation and activity evaluation of NiMoB/-Al_2O_3 catalyst by liquid-phase furfural hydrogenation显示文摘Amorphous MoNiB/ -Al 2 O 3 alloy catalysts were prepared by reducing NiCl 2 ·6H 2 O and (NH 4 ) 6 Mo 7 O 24 ·4H 2 O supported on -Al 2 O 3 with NaBH 4 as reducing agent. Using liquid-phase hydro-genation of furfural (FFR) as a probe reaction, the activity of MoNiB/ -Al 2 O 3 was examined. Compared to NiB and NiMoB, NiMoB/ -Al 2 O 3 exhibited excellent activity and selectivity towards furfuryl alcohol (FFA). After reaction for 3.0 h at 80 ℃ and 5.0 MPa in methanol, FFR conversion reached 99% with FFA yield of 91%. The effects of doping amount of Mo and calcination temperature before NaBH 4 reduction on hydrogenation activity were also investigated. The optimum Mo/Ni atom ratio and calcination temperature were found to be 1:7 and 300 ℃, respectively. 4In-situ/operando techniques to identify active sites for thermochemical conversion of CO_(2) over heterogeneous catalysts显示文摘The catalytic conversion of CO_(2) to fuels or chemicals is considered to be an effective pathway to mitigate the greenhouse effect. To develop new types of efficient and durable catalysts, it is critical to identify the catalytic active sites, surface intermediates, and reaction mechanisms to reveal the relationship between the active sites and catalytic performance. However, the structure of a heterogeneous catalyst usually dynamically changes during reaction, bringing a great challenge for the identification of catalytic active sites and reaction pathways. Therefore, in-situ/operando techniques have been employed to real-time monitor the dynamic evolution of the structure of active sites under actual reaction conditions to precisely build the structure–function relationship. Here, we review the recent progress in the application of various in-situ/operando techniques in identifying active sites for catalytic conversion of CO_(2) over heterogeneous catalysts. We systematically summarize the applications of various optical and X-ray spectroscopy techniques, including Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), in identifying active sites and determining reaction mechanisms of the CO_(2) thermochemical conversion with hydrogen and light alkanes over heterogeneous catalysts. 6Polydopamine-mediated graphene oxide and nanohydroxyapatite-incorporated conductive scaffold with an immunomodulatory ability accelerates periodontal bone regeneration in diabetes显示文摘Regenerating periodontal bone tissues in the aggravated inflammatory periodontal microenvironment under diabetic conditions is a great challenge.Here,a polydopamine-mediated graphene oxide(PGO)and hydroxyapatite nanoparticle(PHA)-incorporated conductive alginate/gelatin(AG)scaffold is developed to accelerate periodontal bone regeneration by modulating the diabetic inflammatory microenvironment.PHA confers the scaffold with osteoinductivity and PGO provides a conductive pathway for the scaffold.The conductive scaffold promotes bone regeneration by transferring endogenous electrical signals to cells and activating Ca2+channels.Moreover,the scaffold with polydopamine-mediated nanomaterials has a reactive oxygen species(ROS)-scavenging ability and anti-inflammatory activity.It also exhibits an immunomodulatory ability that suppresses M1 macrophage polarization and activates M2 macrophages to secrete osteogenesis-related cytokines by mediating glycolytic and RhoA/ROCK pathways in macrophages.The scaffold induces excellent bone regeneration in periodontal bone defects of diabetic rats because of the synergistic effects of good conductive,ROS-scavenging,anti-inflammatory,and immunomodulatory abilities.This study provides fundamental insights into the synergistical effects of conductivity,osteoinductivity,and immunomodulatory abilities on bone regeneration and offers a novel strategy to design immunomodulatory biomaterials for treatment of immune-related diseases and tissue regeneration.Yazhen Li Lu Yang Yue Hou Zhenzhen Zhang Miao Chen Maoxia Wang Jin Liu Jun Wang Zhihe Zhao Chaoming Xie Xiong Lu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,12:3

Emerging and bursting of cavitation in the cavity above pump delivery valve, in injection pipe, and in fuel trough of injector of the fuel injection system were observed and mechanism of cavitation were discussed. Effects of liquid-gas two-phase flow on propagation velocity of pressure wave of the system and on irregular injection were analyzed. 16Laboratory and pilot scale studies on fast pyrolysis of corn stover显示文摘In order to design a hot ceramic ball heated down-flow tuber reactor for the pyrolysis liquefaction of agricultural residues,the devolatilization characteristics of pulverized corn stover were studied in a Laminar Entrained Flow Furnace(LEFF)with the temperature range of 800-950 K.The flow characteristics of corn stover particles and ceramic balls in a vertical square tube were measured and analyzed by the techniques of particle image velocimetry(PIV).The devolatilization experiments were carried out in an isothermal manner and the maximum of volatile matter of pulverized corn stover particles was 72.68%with the residence time of 189 ms at 950 K.Parameters of the first order Arrhenius equation for describing the pulverized corn stover flash pyrolysis were determined.In the PIV experiments,the corn stover particle axial velocity were measured at different cross-sections of the tube for different conditions.For the tuber connected with a suction pump,the maximum velocity was about 0.79 m/s,determined by the flow rate of the suction pump.Finally,a hot ceramic ball heated down-flow tuber reactor was constructed for pilot demonstration.The capacity of the reactor was 110.5 kg/h of corn stover powder and the yield of bio-oil was 41.6%of the feed stock.Yi Weiming Bai Xueyuan Li Zhihe Wang Lihong Wang Nana Yang Yanqiang 2008International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2008,1,1:1
17Resilience patterns of human mobility in response to extreme urban floods显示文摘Large-scale disasters can disproportionately impact different population groups,causing prominent disparity and inequality,especially for the vulnerable and marginalized.Here,we investigate the resilience of human mobility under the disturbance of the unprecedented‘720’Zhengzhou flood in China in 2021 using records of 1.32 billion mobile phone signaling generated by 4.35 million people.We find that although pluvial floods can trigger mobility reductions,the overall structural dynamics of mobility networks remain relatively stable.We also find that the low levels of mobility resilience in female,adolescent and older adult groups are mainly due to their insufficient capabilities to maintain business-as-usual travel frequency during the flood.Most importantly,we reveal three types of counter-intuitive,yet widely existing,resilience patterns of human mobility(namely,‘reverse bathtub’,‘ever-increasing’and‘ever-decreasing’patterns),and demonstrate a universal mechanism of disaster-avoidance response by further corroborating that those abnormal resilience patterns are not associated with people’s gender or age.In view of the common association between travel behaviors and travelers’socio-demographic characteristics,our findings provide a caveat for scholars when disclosing disparities in human travel behaviors during flood-induced emergencies.Junqing Tang Pengjun Zhao Zhaoya Gong Hongbo Zhao Fengjue Huang Jiaying Li Zhihe Chen Ling Yu Jun Chen 2023National Science Review2023,10,8:1

20Preparation of bio-oil by catalytic pyrolysis of corn stalks using red mud显示文摘Red mud is a solid waste residue with alkaline nature(pH>12)-originating from the Bayer process in the production of alumina,which was probed in catalytic pyrolysis to determine its feasibility as a solid catalyst for bio-oil formulation.The red mud was characterized using X-ray fluorescence,XRD(X-ray diffraction),TG-DTG(thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry),BET(surface area and pore size analyzer)measuring and testing techniques.Experiments of non-catalytic and catalytic pyrolysis of 40-60 mesh size corn stalk powder were channelled for bio-oil production in a fixed bed reactor.It was ascertained that adding different proportions of red mud had minute influence on bio-oil production rate and product distribution.The study signaled that liquid yield from the catalytic pyrolysis was lower than that from non-catalytic pyrolysis.Through a series of bio-oil characterization,it was encountered that the most obviously change in the bio-oil from catalytic pyrolysis was significant acidity reduction(pH>4).Meanwhile,the content of ketones and phenols was enhanced.Hence,the co-processing of agricultural waste and by-products alumina industry may offer an economical and environmentally friendly way of catalytic pyrolysis with abbreviating the red mud environmental effects.Wang Shaoqing Xu Meili Wang Fang Li Zhihe 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,5:1
