| 1 | Dopant-Controlled Synthesis of Water-Soluble Hexagonal NaYF_(4) Nanorods with Efficient Upconversion Fluorescence for Multicolor Bioimaging显示文摘A novel strategy is proposed to directly synthesize water-soluble hexagonal NaYF4 nanorods by doping rare-earth ions with large ionic radius (such as La^(3+), Ce^(3+), Pr^(3+), Nd^(3+), Sm^(3+), Eu^(3+), and Gd^(3+)), and the dopant- controlled growth mechanism is studied. Based on the doping effect, we fabricated water-soluble hexagonal NaYF4:(Yb,Er)/La and NaYF4:(Yb,Er)/Ce nanorods, which exhibited much brighter upconversion fluorescence than the corresponding cubic forms. The sizes of the nanorods can be adjusted over a broad range by changing the dopant concentration and reaction time. | 2 | Changes in soil microbial community and enzyme activity along an exotic plant Eupatorium adenophorum invasion in a Chinese secondary forest显示文摘The exotic plant,Eupatorium adenophorum,has invaded rapidly across southwest China,damaging native ecosystems and causing great economic losses.Soil microbes,as an important component of belowground community,can drive nutrient cycling and regulate plant competition in terrestrial ecosystems.Therefore,knowledge of the soil microbial community and function will enhance our understanding of the mechanism of exotic plant invasive process in natural ecosystems.In this study,we examined the soil microbial community,soil enzyme activity,soil property and plant community along an invasive gradient of E.adenophorum in a southwest Chinese secondary forest.The soil analysis demonstrated that heavy invasion significantly increased the total P and NO3–-N contents,whereas it significantly decreased the total N and soil organic matter contents.The available P content was significantly decreased by moderate invasion.The E.adenophorum invasion significantly decreased the biomass of total soil microbes,as well as Gram-negative bacteria,actinomycetes,arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungi and non-AM fungi.However,E.adenophorum invasion significantly increased the activities of soil urease,acid phosphatase,polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase.Non-metric multidimensional scaling showed that soil microbial composition and soil enzyme composition were significantly different in the three E.adenophorum invaded sites.Partial Mantel tests indicated that plant composition was the most important factor for structuring soil microbial and enzyme compositions.The results suggest that changes in soil microbial community structure and enzyme activity may play an important role in the process of E.adenophorum invasion in a Chinese secondary forest ecosystem. | SUN Xin GAO Cheng GUO LiangDong | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,33: | 15 |
| 3 | Advances in the application of quantum dots in tumor markers investigation显示文摘Tumor markers have been of vital importance in cancer diagnosis,treatment and monitoring. However,the sen-sitivity of current tumor markers for early diagnosis is low,reducing the clinical usefulness of tumor markers. Quantum dots are new fluorescent nanoparticles with unique photophysical and chemical properties,thus having a great potential impact on the investigation of cancer pathogenesis,early diagnosis,targeted therapy,prognosis and monitoring,when combined with tumor markers. The current research is focused on the detection of specific tumor markers or molecules based on tangible carriers such as cells and tissues. One of the most promising clinical applications would be to explore the potential of this highly sensitive labeling technique for the detecting and imagining tumor markers in serum and other body fluids,where some progresses have already been made recently. | 4 | Introduction of Foreign Genes into Silkworm Eggs by Electroporation and Its Application in Transgenic Vector Test显示文摘Electroporation as a methodology to introduce foreign genes into silkworm eggs was system- atically analyzed. The foreign gene in both the newly hatched and 3rd instar larva DNA can be detected by PCR. The amount of foreign gene in 3rd instar larva DNA was about 1/1000 of that in newly hatched larva DNA. The ratio of foreign gene entering into silkworm eggs was voltage dependent and showed significant difference between the tested silkworm strains. When the piggyBac transposon system was applied, the effect of nuclear localization signal (NLS) peptide and the in vitro transcribed transposase mRNA on the transposi- tion rate has been measured. Results showed that the in vitro transcribed transposase mRNA facilitated trans- position to take place earlier and NLS could result in higher transposition probability and earlier transposition as well. | 5 | Coordinated Multiple Spacecraft Attitude Control with Communication Time Delays and Uncertainties显示文摘In this paper, we consider the coordinated attitude control problem of spacecraft formation with communication delays, model and disturbance uncertainties, and propose novel synchronized control schemes. Since the attitude motion is essential in non-Euclidean space, thus, unlike the existing designs which describe the delayed relative attitude via linear algorithm, we treat the attitude error and the local relative attitude on the nonlinear manifold-Lie group, and attempt to obtain coupling attitude information by the natural quaternion multiplication. Our main focus is to address two problems:1) Propose a coordinated attitude controller to achieve the synchronized attitude maneuver, i.e., synchronize multiple spacecraft attitudes and track a time-varying desired attitude; 2) With known model information, we achieve the synchronized attitude maneuver with disturbances under angular velocity constraints. Especially, if the formation does not have any uncertainties, the designer can simply set the controller via an appropriate choice of control gains to avoid system actuator saturation. | 6 | Effect of Salinity on the Zooplankton Community in the Pearl River Estuary显示文摘Understanding the relationship between the zooplankton distribution and salinity may provide key information to understand ecosystem function under the condition of a global mean sea level rise caused by global climate change.However,little is known about how increasing salinity level will affect the entire zooplankton community on a large scale.Here we completed 1 year of field investigations on the Pearl River Estuary and analyzed the distribution and structure of the zooplankton community.A total of 68 zooplankton species were identified during the survey.The number and diversity(richness,evenness,Shannon index,and Simpson’s index)of the zooplankton species decreased as salinity increased from 0.10 to 21.26.Salinity negatively affected the abundances of rotifers,cladocerans,and total zooplankton,while it had little effect on copepod abundance.Some salt-tolerant species,such as Keratella tropica,Polyarthra vulgaris,and Paracalanus crassirostris,survived at high-salinity sites.A pattern was observed at all sites:the peak in copepod abundance always occurred when rotifers were abundant(sites S1 and S2)or after rotifer abundance reached a maximum level(sites S3,S4,and S5).In general,salinity was the most important environmental factor shaping zooplankton biodiversity and abundance.This study provides insight into potential biodiversity and structure of the zooplankton community in response to salinity change. | YUAN Danni CHEN Liangdong LUAN Leilei WANG Qing YANG Yufeng | 2020 | Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,6: | 5 |

| 8 | The electrolyte comprising more robust water and superhalides transforms Zn-metal anode reversibly and dendrite-free显示文摘A great challenge for all aqueous batteries,including Zn-metal batteries,is the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction on the low-potential anode.Herein,we report the formula of a highly concentrated aqueous electrolyte that mitigates hydrogen evolution by transforming water molecules more inert.The electrolyte comprises primarily ZnCl_(2) and LiCl as an additive,both of which are inexpensive salts.The O-H covalent bonds in water get strengthened in a chemical environment that has fewer hydrogen bonding interactions and a greater number of Zn-Cl superhalides,as suggested by integrated characterization and simulation.As a result,the average Coulombic efficiency of zincmetal anode is raised to an unprecedented>99.7%at 1mA cm^(−2).In the new electrolyte,the plating/stripping processes leave the zinc-metal anode dendrite-free,and the zinc-metal anode delivers stable plating/stripping cycles for 4000 hours with an areal capacity of 4 mAh cm^(−2) at 2mA cm^(−2).Furthermore,the high Coulombic efficiency of zinc-metal anode in the ZnCl_(2)-LiCl mixture electrolyte is demonstrated in full cells with a limited anode.The V_(2)O_(5)·H_(2)O||Zn full cell with an N/P mass ratio of 1.2 delivers a stable life of more than 2500 cycles,and the LiMn_(2)O_(4)||Zn hybrid cell with an N/P mass ratio of 0.6 exhibits 1500 cycles in its stable life. | Chong Zhang Woochul Shin Liangdong Zhu Cheng Chen Joerg C.Neuefeind Yunkai Xu Sarah I.Allec Cong Liu Zhixuan Wei Aigerim Daniyar Jia‐Xing Jiang Chong Fang P.Alex Greaney Xiulei Ji | 2021 | Carbon Energy2021,3,2: | 3 |
