1CN-DBpedia2: An Extraction and Verification Framework for Enriching Chinese Encyclopedia Knowledge Base显示文摘Knowledge base plays an important role in machine understanding and has been widely used in various applications, such as search engine, recommendation system and question answering. However, most knowledge bases are incomplete, which can cause many downstream applications to perform poorly because they cannot find the corresponding facts in the knowledge bases. In this paper, we propose an extraction and verification framework to enrich the knowledge bases. Specifically, based on the existing knowledge base, we first extract new facts from the description texts of entities. But not all newly-formed facts can be added directly to the knowledge base because the errors might be involved by the extraction. Then we propose a novel crowd-sourcing based verification step to verify the candidate facts. 2Increased leptin by hypoxic-preconditioning promotes autophagy of mesenchymal stem cells and protects them from apoptosis显示文摘Autophagy is the basic catabolic progress involved in cell degradation of unnecessary or dysfunctional cellular components.It has been proven that autophagy could be utilized for cell survival under stresses.Hypoxic-preconditioning(HPC)could reduce apoptosis induced by ischemia and hypoxia/serum deprivation(H/SD)in bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).Previous studies have shown that both leptin signaling and autophagy activation were involved in the protection against apoptosis induced by various stress,including ischemia-reperfusion.However,it has never been fully understood how leptin was involved in the protective effects conferred by autophagy.In the present study,we demonstrated that HPC can induce autophagy in BMSCs by increased LC3-II/LC3-I ratio and autophagosome formation.Interestingly,similar effects were also observed when BMSCs were pretreated with rapamycin.The beneficial effects offered by HPC were absent when BMSCs were incubated with autophagy inhibitor,3-methyladenine(3-MA).In addition,down-regulated leptin expression by leptin-shRNA also attenuated HPC-induced autophagy in BMSCs,which in turn was associated with increased apoptosis after exposed to sustained H/SD.Furthermore,increased AMP-activated protein kinase phosphorylation and decreased mammalian target of rapamycin phosphorylation that were observed in HPC-treated BMSCs can also be attenuated by down-regulation of leptin expression.Our data suggests that leptin has impact on HPC-induced autophagy in BMSCs which confers protection against apoptosis under H/SD,possibly through modulating both AMPK and mTOR pathway.WANG LiHan HU XinYang ZHU Wei JIANG Zhi ZHOU Yu CHEN PanPan WANG JianAn 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2:8
3The rice Raf-like MAPKKK OsILA1 confers broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial blight by suppressing the OsMAPKK4-OsMAPK6 cascade显示文摘Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase(MAPKKK)are the first components of MAPK cascades,which play pivotal roles in signaling during plant development and physiological processes.The genome of rice encodes 75 MAPKKKs,of which 43 are Raf-like MAPKKKs.The functions and action modes of most of the Raf-like MAPKKKs,whether they function as bona fide MAPKKKs and which are their downstream MAPKKs,are largely unknown.Here,we identified the osmapkkk43 mutant,which conferred broad-spectrum resistance to Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo),the destructive bacterial pathogen of rice.Oryza sativa(Os)MAPKKK43 encoding a Raf-like MAPKKK was previously known as Increased Leaf Angle 1(OsILA1).Genetic analysis indicated that OsILA1 functioned as a negative regulator and acted upstream of the OsMAPKK4-OsMAPK6 cascade in rice-Xoo interactions.Unlike classical MAPKKKs,OsILA1 mainly phosphorylated the threonine 34 site at the N-terminal domain of OsMAPKK4,which possibly influenced the stability of OsMAPKK4.The N-terminal domain of OsILA1 is required for its homodimer formation and its full phosphorylation capacity.Taken together,our findings reveal that OsILA1 acts as a negative regulator of the OsMAPKK4-OsMAPK6 cascade and is involved in rice-Xoo interactions.Jie Chen Lihan Wang Zeyu Yang Hongbo Liu Chuanliang Chu Zhenzhen Zhang Qinglu Zhang Xianghua Li Jinghua Xiao Shiping Wang Meng Yuan 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,10:3
4Impaired SWEET-mediated sugar transportation impacts starch metabolism in developing rice seeds显示文摘Sugar transportation and sugar-to-starch metabolism are considered important processes in seed development and embryo viability.A few plant SWEET proteins acting as sugar transporters have been reported to function in inflorescence and/or seed development.Here,we identified seven members of the 21 Os SWEET genes in rice that play essential roles in sugar transportation and sugar-to-starch conversion in seed development.Nineteen Os SWEET genes exhibiting different expression patterns during inflorescence and seed development were knocked out individually by CRISPR/Cas9.One third of the mutants showed decreased fertile pollen viability and shriveled mature caryopses,resulting in weakened seed traits.Grain fill-related genes but not representative grain shape-regulating genes showed attenuated expression in the mutants.Seed of each of these mutants accumulated more sucrose,glucose or fructose but less starch.Among all Os SWEET genes,Os SWEET4 and Os SWEET11 had major effects on caryopsis development.The sugar-to-starch metabolic pathway was significantly altered in ossweet11 mutants based on differential expression analysis in RNA sequencing assays,confirming that Os SWEET11 functions as a sugar transporter with a key role in seed development.These results help to decipher the multiple functions of Os SWEET genes and to show how they might be used in genetic improvement of rice.Pei Li Lihan Wang Hongbo Liu Meng Yuan 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,1:3
5Two-in-one solution using insect wings to produce graphene-graphite films for efficient electrocatalysis显示文摘Natural organisms contain rich elements and naturally optimized smart structures,both of which have inspired various innovative concepts and desig ns in human society.In particular,several natural organisms have been used as element sources to synthesize low-cost and environmentally friendly electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in fuel cells and metal-air batteries,which are clean energy devices.However,to date,no naturally optimized smart structures have been employed in the synthesis of ORR catalysts,including graphene-based materials.Here,we demonstrate a novel strategy to synthesize graphene-graphite films(GGFs)by heating butterfly wings coated with FeCI3 in N2,in which the full power of natural organisms is utilized.The wings work not only as an element source for GGF generation but also as a porous supporting structure for effective nitrogen doping,two-dimensional spreading,and double-face exposure of the GGFs.These GGFs exhibit a half-wave potential of 0.942 V and a H2O2 yield of<0.07%for ORR electrocatalysis;these values are comparable to those for the best commercial Pt/C and all previously reported ORR catalysts in alkaline media.This two-in-one strategy is also successful with cicada and dragonfly wings,indicating that it is a universal,green,and cost-effective method for developing high-performance graphene-based materials.Huaiyu Li Lihan Zhang Long Li Chaowen Wu Yajiao Huo Ying Chen Xijun Liu Xiaoxing Ke Jun Luo Gustaaf Van Tendeloo 2019Nano Research2019,12,1:3
6Coseismic Slip Distribution of the 2021 Mw7.4 Maduo,Qinghai Earthquake Estimated from InSAR and GPS Measurements显示文摘On 22 May 2021,the Maduo Earthquake occurred on a branch fault of the East Kunlun fault in the Bayan Har Block,which provides opportunity to constrain fault geometry and strain accumulation and release for assessment of earthquake hazards.We processed the Sentinal-1A/B SAR images acquired before and after the earthquake,with which we constrained a finite fault model to best fit to the combined data set of downsampled InSAR image and GPS displacements.The inversion indicates that the Maduo event ruptured a 160 km long section striking 286.5°and a dipping 81.39°with rake angle of 4.62°.The model suggests three compact rupture areas with the slip amplitude exceeding 4 m on the main rupture section and the largest slip region is in the east of the epicenter with a slip of approximately 4.6 m below the surface,in a good agreement with the field geological survey.The total geodetic moment is 1.67×10^(20) N·m equivalent to Mw7.44,slightly larger than estimate of the USGS.Lihan Xiao Rui Zheng Rong Zou 2022Journal of Earth Science2022,33,4:2

15A Comparative Investigation of Single Crystal and Polycrystalline Ni-Rich NCMs as Cathodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries显示文摘Nickel-rich LiNi_(1-x-y)Co_(x)Mn_(y)O_(2)(NCM,1-x-y≥0.6)is known as a promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries since its superiority of high voltage and large capacity.However,polycrystalline Ni-rich NCMs suffer from poor cycle stability,limiting its further application.Herein,single crystal and polycrystalline LiNi_(0.84)Co_(0.07)Mn_(0.09)O_(2)cathode materials are compared to figure out the relation of the morphology and the electrochemical storage performance.According to the Li^(+)diffusion coefficient,the lower capacity of single crystal samples is mainly ascribed to the limited Li+diffusion in the large bulk.In situ XRD illustrates that the polycrystalline and single crystal NCMs show a virtually identical manner and magnitude in lattice contraction and expansion during cycling.Also,the electrochemically active surface area(ECSA)measurement is employed in lithium-ion battery study for the first time,and these two cathodes show huge discrepancy in the ECSA after the initial cycle.These results suggest that the single crystal sample exhibits reduced cracking,surface side reaction,and Ni/Li mixing but suffers the lower Li^(+)diffusion kinetics.This work offers a view of how the morphology of Ni-rich NCM effects the electrochemical performance,which is instructive for developing a promising strategy to achieve good rate performance and excellent cycling stability.Xianming Deng Rui Zhang Kai Zhou Ziyao Gao Wei He Lihan Zhang Cuiping Han Feiyu Kang Baohua Li 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,3:1

18Effect of environmental stresses on the survival and cytotoxicity of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli显示文摘The objective of this study was to determine the effect of environmental stresses on the cytotoxicity of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). STEC O157:H7 and six non-O157 STEC strains (O26:H11, O103:H1, O104:H4, O111:NM, O121:NM, and O145:NM) were subjected to osmotic (aw 0.95-0.98), acid (pH 4-7), and chlorine (1-5 ppm) stresses. After stress treatments, bacterial populations, expression of virulence-associated genes, and Vero-cytotoxicity were determined. Among the strains, O145:NM survived at aw 0.97 longer than other serotypes, while O111:NM was significantly more sensitive to osmotic stress. At pH 4, O103:H1 was more resistant to the stress, while O26:H11 and O111:NM had significantly less growth. For 2 ppm chlorine stress, O26:H11, O103:H1, and O145:NM had higher populations (>3 log) than other strains. Stressed strains showed a significant increase in relative gene expression levels of stx1, stx2, and eae in O103:H1, O104:H4, and O145:NM than non-stressed control. Additionally, significantly higher Vero-cytotoxicity, as indicated by lactate dehydrogenase assay, of stressed O26:H11, O103:H1, O104:H4, and O145:NM was observed.
