| 2 | Textbook Outcome as a measure of surgical quality assessment and prognosis in gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma:A large multicenter sample analysis显示文摘Objective:Quality assurance is crucial for oncological surgical treatment assessment.For rare diseases,singlequality indicators are not enough.We aim to develop a comprehensive and reproducible measurement,called the'Textbook Outcome'(TO),to assess the quality of surgical treatment and prognosis of gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma(G-NEC)patients.Methods:Data from patients with primary diagnosed G-NEC included in 24 high-volume Chinese hospitals from October 2005 to September 2018 were analyzed.TO included receiving a curative resection,≥15 lymph nodes examined,no severe postoperative complications,hospital stay≤21 d,and no hospital readmission≤30 d after discharge.Hospital variation in TO was analyzed using a case mix-adjusted funnel plot.Prognostic factors of survival and risk factors for non-Textbook Outcome(non-TO)were analyzed using Cox and logistic models,respectively.Results:TO was achieved in 56.6%of 860 G-NEC patients.TO patients had better overall survival(OS),disease-free survival(DFS),and recurrence-free survival(RFS)than non-TO patients(P<0.05).Moreover,TO patients accounted for 60.3%of patients without recurrence.Multivariate Cox analysis revealed non-TO as an independent risk factor for OS,DFS,and RFS of G-NEC patients(P<0.05).Increasing TO rates were associated with improved OS for G-NEC patients,but not hospital volume.Multivariate logistic regression revealed that nonlower tumors,open surgery,and>200 mL blood loss were independent risk factors for non-TO patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:TO is strongly associated with multicenter surgical quality and prognosis for G-NEC patients.Factors predicting non-TO are identified,which may help guide strategies to optimize G-NEC outcomes. | Qiyue Chen Zhongliang Ning Zhiyu Liu Yanbing Zhou Qingliang He Yantao Tian Hankun Hao Wei Lin Lixin Jiang Gang Zhao Ping Li Chaohui Zheng Changming Huang on behalf of the Study Group for Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021，33，4： | 2 |
| 3 | Adsorption and reduction of palladium (Pd^(2+)) by Bacillus licheniformis R08显示文摘Preliminary study on the mechanism of Pd2+ biosorption by resting cells of Bacillus licheniformis R08 biomass has been carried out by means of chemical kinetics and AAS, TEM, XRD and FTIR methods. The results showed that at 30°C and pH 3.5, when dry R08 biomass powder (800 mg/L) was mixed with Pd2+ (100 mg/L) for 45 min, the rate constant k of biosorption of Pd2+ attained a maximum of 5.97×10-2 min-1 and the half life period of the reaction reached 12 min. The part of Pd2+ adsorbed by R08 biomass was reduced to elemental, cell-bound Pd0 at the same condition. | 5 | Reappraise role of lymph node status in patterns of recurrence following curative resection of gastric adenocarcinoma显示文摘Objective: To examine the association between lymph node status and recurrence patterns in completely resected gastric adenocarcinoma.Methods: We retrospectively assessed 1,694 patients who underwent curative gastrectomy from January 2010 to August 2014. Patients stratified according to lymph node status and recurrence patterns among different subgroups were compared.Results: Of all, 517(30.5%) patients developed recurrent disease, and complete data of recurrence could be obtained in 493(95.4%) patients. For p^(N0) patients, the patterns of recurrence were different according to p T stage: locoregional recurrence was most common in patients with p T1-2 disease(57.1%), distant recurrence was most common in patients with p T3 disease(57.1%), and peritoneal recurrence was most common in patients with p T4 a disease(66.7%). For p^(N+) patients, distant metastasis was most common pattern irrespective of p T stage. The site-specific trend of recurrence showed that locoregional recurrence increased within 5 years in patients with p^(N0)-2 disease but plateaued 3 years after surgery in patients with p N3 disease. Time to recurrence was significantly longer for the p^(N0) patients compared with the p^(N+) patients(median: 25 vs. 16 months, P=0.001).Moreover, post-recurrence survival was significantly better for the p^(N0) patients than for the p^(N+) patients(median:12 vs. 6 months, P<0.001), especially in patients with non-peritoneal recurrence, late recurrence, single recurrence,and receipt of potential curative treatment.Conclusions: Among clinicopathologic factors, lymph node status is the most important factor associated with recurrence patterns after curative gastrectomy. | 6 | Neurogranin as an important regulator in swimming training to improve the spatial memory dysfunction of mice with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion显示文摘Background:Vascular cognitive impairment caused by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion(CCH)has become a hot issue worldwide.Aerobic exercise positively contributes to the preservation or restoration of cognitive abilities;however,the specific mechanism has remained inconclusive.And recent studies found that neurogranin(Ng)is a potential biomarker for cognitive impairment.This study aims to investigate the underlying role of Ng in swimming training to improve cognitive impairment.Methods:To test this hypothesis,the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)-associated protein 9(Cas9)system was utilized to construct a strain of Ng conditional knockout(Ng cKO)mice,and bilateral common carotid artery stenosis(BCAS)surgery was performed to prepare the model.In Experiment 1,2-month-old male and female transgenic mice were divided into a control group(wild-type littermate,n=9)and a Ng cKO group(n=9).Then,2-month-old male and female C57BL/6 mice were divided into a sham group(C57BL/6,n=12)and a BCAS group(n=12).In Experiment 2,2-month-old male and female mice were divided into a sham group(wild-type littermate,n=12),BCAS group(n=12),swim group(n=12),BCAS+Ng cKO group(n=12),and swim+Ng cKO group(n=12).Then,7 days after BCAS,mice were given swimming training for 5 weeks(1 week for adaptation and 4 weeks for training,5 days a week,60 min a day).After intervention,laser speckle was used to detect cerebral blood perfusion in the mice,and the T maze and Morris water maze were adopted to test their spatial memory.Furthermore,electrophysiology and Western blotting were conducted to record long-term potential and observe the expressions of Ca^(2+)pathway-related proteins,respectively.Immunohistochemistry was applied to analyze the expression of relevant markers in neuronal damage,inflammation,and white matter injury.Results:The figures showed that spatial memory impairment was detected in Ng cKO mice,and a sharp decline of cerebral blood flow and an impairment of progressive spatial memory were observed in BCAS mice.Regular swimming training improved the spatial memory impairment of BCAS mice.This was achieved by preventing long-term potential damage and reversing the decline of Ca^(2+)signal transduction pathway-related proteins.At the same time,the results suggested that swimming also led to improvements in neuronal death,inflammation,and white matter injury induced by CCH.Further study adopted the use of Ng cKO transgenic mice,and the results indicated that the positive effects of swimming training on cognitive impairments,synaptic plasticity,and related pathological changes caused by CCH could be abolished by the knockout of Ng.Conclusion:Swimming training can mediate the expression of Ng to enhance hippocampal synaptic plasticity and improve related pathological changes induced by CCH,thereby ameliorating the spatial memory impairment of vascular cognitive impairment. | Huawei Lin Jiayong Zhang Yaling Dai Huanhuan Liu Xiaojun He Lewen Chen Jing Tao Chaohui Li Weilin Liu | 2023 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2023，12，1： | 1 |

| 11 | Value of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio,N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide,urea,and creatinine for the prediction of acute kidney injury in acute heart failure:a retrospective observational study显示文摘Objective:Early identification of acute kidney injury(AKI)is essential to improve the prognosis of patients with acute heart failure(AHF).We aimed to determine the utility of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP),urea,and creatinine(Cr),as well as combinations of these,for the prediction of AKI in patients with AHF.Methods:A total of 153 patients with AHF under the care of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University from October 2009 to October 2019 were included in this retrospective observational study.Their NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr concentrations were measured on admission.AKI was defined using the Acute Kidney Injury Network criteria.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves,the areas under the curves(AUCs),sensitivity,and specificity were employed to evaluate the ability of each biomarker and their combinations to identify AKI.This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University(approval No.SYSEC-KY-KS-2021-126)on June 22,2021.Results:Forty-six(30.1%)participants developed AKI during hospitalization.The NLR and NT-proBNP of the participants with AKI were higher than those without(NLR:median 7.886 vs 4.717,P<0.0001;NT-proBNP,median 6774 vs 2786pg/mL,P<0.0001).ROC analyses demonstrated that high NLR and NT-proBNP were associated with higher incidences of AKI(NLR:cut-off 5.681,AUC 0.716,sensitivity 58.9%,specificity 80.4%;NT-proBNP:cut-off 5320pg/mL,AUC 0.700,sensitivity 72.9%,specificity 65.2%).Moreover,a combination of NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr yielded an AUC of 0.815,sensitivity 80.4%,and specificity of 74.8%.In addition,the AUCs for the prediction of AKI in the participants with New York Heart Association(NYHA)classes II,III,and IV were 0.936,0.860,and 0.772,respectively,using this combination.Conclusion:A combination of NLR,NT-proBNP,urea,and Cr,measured at admission,may represent a promising tool for the prediction of AKI in patients with AHF.This method performs best for AKI risk assessment in patients with NYHA II,followed by those with NYHA III or IV. | Lisi Huang Jian He Xianghua Lin Ling Luo Rihui Zhong Xiaoying Xie Xiaodan Peng Chaohui Duan | 2021 | Journal of Bio-X Research2021，4，4： | 0 |
