Chinese deserts and sand fields in Last Glacial Maximum and Holocene Optimum显示文摘The Last Glacial Maximum (LGM, c. 26-16 ka) and the Holocene Optimum (HO, c. 9-5 ka) were characterized by cold-dry and warm-wet climates respectively in the recently geological Earth. How Chinese deserts and sand fields responded to these distinctive climatic changes is still not clear, however. To reconstruct environments of the deserts and sand fields during the LGM and HO is helpful to understand the forcing mechanisms of environment change in this arid region, and to test paleoclimatic modeling results. Through our long-term field and laboratory investigations, 400 optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) ages and more than 100 depositional records in the Chinese deserts and sand fields were obtained; on the basis of these data, we reconstruct spatial distributions of the deserts and sand fields during the LGM and HO. Our results show that the sand fields of Mu Us, Hunshandake, Horqin and Hulun Buir in northern and northeastern China had expanded 25%, 37%, 38% and 270%, respectively, during the LGM; the sand fields of Gonghe in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau had expanded 20%, and the deserts of Badain Jaran, Tengger in central northern China had expanded 39% and 29% separately during the LGM; the deserts of Taklimakan, Gurbantünggüt and Kumtag in northwestern China had expanded 10%-20% respectively, compared to their modern areas. On the other hand, all of the sand fields were nearly completely covered by vegetation during the HO; the deserts in northwestern and central northern China were reduced by around 5%-20% in area during this time. Lakes in this arid region were probably expanded during the HO but this conclusion needs more investigation. Compared with the geological distributions of deserts and sand fields, human activity has clearly changed (expanded) the area of active sand dunes at the present time. Our observations show that environmental conditions of Chinese deserts and sand fields are controlled by regional climate together with human activity.LU HuaYu YI ShuangWen XU ZhiWei ZHOU YaLi ZENG Lin ZHU FangYing FENG Han DONG LiNa ZHUO HaiXin YU KaiFeng MASON Joseph WANG XiaoYong CHEN YingYong LU Qi WU Bo DONG ZhiBao QU JianJun WANG XunMing GUO ZhengTang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,23:40

Mesoporous TiO_2/Carbon Beads: One-Pot Preparation and Their Application in Visible-Light-Induced Photodegradation显示文摘Mesoporous Ti O2/Carbon beads have been prepared via a facile impregnation-carbonization approach, in which a porous anion-exchange resin and K2 Ti O(C2O4)2were used as hard carbon and titanium source, respectively.Characterization results reveal that the self-assembled composites have disordered mesostructure, uniform mesopores, large pore volumes, and high surface areas. The mesopore walls are composed of amorphous carbon, well-dispersed and confined anatase or rutile nanoparticles. Some anatase phase of Ti O2 was transformed to rutile phase via an increase of carbonization temperature or repeated impregnation of the resin with Ti O(C2O4)22-species. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen element analysis, and thermal gravity analysis results indicate the doping of carbon into the Ti O2 lattice and strong interaction between carbon and Ti O2 nanoparticles. A synergy effect by carbon and Ti O2 in the composites has been discussed herein on the degradation of methyl orange under visible light. The dye removal process involves adsorption of the dye from water by the mesopores in the composites, followed by photodegradation on the separated dye-loaded catalysts. Mesopores allow full access of the dye molecules to the surface of Ti O2 nanoparticles.Importantly, the bead format of such composite enables their straightforward separation from the reaction mixture in their application as a liquid-phase heterogeneous photodegradation catalyst.Xiaowei Li Yanqiu Jiang Wenjing Cheng Yudong Li Xianzhu Xu Kaifeng Lin 2015Nano-Micro Letters2015,7,3:2

Macroscopic assembled graphene nanofilms based room temperature ultrafast mid-infrared photodetectors显示文摘Graphene with linear energy dispersion and weak electron-phonon interaction is highly anticipated to harvest hot electrons in a broad wavelength range. However, the limited absorption and serious backscattering of hot-electrons result in inadequate quantum yields, especially in the mid-infrared range. Here,we report a macroscopic assembled graphene(nMAG)nanofilm/silicon heterojunction for ultrafast mid-infrared photodetection. The assembled Schottky diode works in 1.5-4.0μm at room temperature with fast response(20-30 ns,rising time,4 mm2 window)and high detectivity(1.61011 to 1.9109 Jones from 1.5 to 4.0μm)under the pulsed laser, outperforming single-layer-graphene/silicon photodetectors by 2-8 orders. These performances are attributed to the greatly enhanced photo-thermionic effect of electrons in nMAG due to its high light absorption(~40%),long carrier relaxation time(~20 ps),low work function(4.52 eV),and suppressed carrier number fluctuation. The nMAG provides a long-range platform to understand the hot-carrier dynamics in bulk 2D materials, leading to broadband and ultrafast MIR active imaging devices at room temperature.Li Peng Lixiang Liu Sichao Du Srikrishna Chanakya Bodepudi Lingfei Li Wei Liu Runchen Lai Xiaoxue Cao Wenzhang Fang Yingjun Liu Xinyu Liu Jianhang Lv Muhammad Abid Junxue Liu Shengye Jin Kaifeng Wu Miao-Ling Lin Xin Cong Ping-Heng Tan Haiming Zhu Qihua Xiong Xiaomu Wang Weida Hu Xiangfeng Duan Bin Yu Zhen Xu Yang Xu Chao Gao 2022InfoMat2022,4,6:1
Benzothiophene and benzosulfone fused pyrazino[2,3-g]quinoxaline:Synthesis and semiconducting properties显示文摘A novel air-stable n-type benzothiaphene endcapped azaarene(BTPQ) and its sulfonated derivative(BSPQ) were prepared via two pathways and characterized by NMR, UV–vis, fluorescence and cyclic voltammetry spectroscopy. Symmetrically introducing four nitrogen atoms into acenes, the semiconductor properties could be changed from p-type to n-type detected through the space charge limited current(SCLC) method. After sulfonation of BTPQ, BSPQ is with deeper frontier orbital energy levels and enhanced the electron mobility.Fangwei Ding Debin Xia Xiping Ding Ruibin Deng Congwu Ge Yulin Yang Ruiqing Fan Kaifeng Lin Xike Gao 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,2:0
Identification of potential indicators for testis quality in swamp eels(Monopterus albus)through metabolomics analysis显示文摘The swamp eel(Monopterus albus)is a commonly cultured freshwater fish.Selection and cultivation of fecund broodstock is crucial for efficient artificial reproduction in this species. However, there are currently no guidelines for selecting high-quality males in M.albus.This study quantitatively investigated the sperm motility of male swamp eels during the breeding season by using computer-assisted sperm analysis system.Variability in the proportion and number of motile sperm was observed between individual males. The testes were grouped into high-quality and low-quality according to sperm quality.Morphometric parameters of the two groups were analyzed. We found that high-quality testes were longer(150±27 mm verses 127±19 mm)than low-quality testes.Besides, the proportion of testes with a dark appearance was slightly higher(58.3%verses 48.1%)in the high-quality group than in the low-quality group.Metabolomic analysis was conducted to compare the metabolite profiles of high-quality and low-quality testes.Glycerophospholipids, organic acids, glycerolipids, amino acids, sphingolipids, and nucleotides were the most abundant metabolites in the testes of swamp eels.Moreover,135 differential metabolites were identified.Several nucleotide derivatives, including 50-deoxyadenosine,20-deoxyadenosine,and ribosyl adenosine, were the most significantly enriched metabolites in highquality testes. These metabolites are potential indicators for the testis quality in M.albus.Altogether,our work provides systematic and quantitative data about the physiological and biochemical characteristics of M.albus testis, which provides an evidential basis for the selection of high-fecundity parents to improve artificial reproduction efficiency of M.albus.Fei Liu Xing Lin Kaifeng Meng Yuanyuan Chen Hairong Liu Yuanli Zhao Daji Luo 2023Water Biology and Security2023,2,4:0

Breaking of Large-Scale Filament due to Magnetic Reconnection and Consequent Partial Eruption显示文摘Following our previous work,we studied the partial eruption of a large-scale horse-shoe-like filament that had beenobserved in a decaying active region on the solar disk for more than 4.5 days. The filament became active after itwas broken into two pieces,P1 and P2 seen in Hα,by magnetic reconnection between the magnetic field around itand that of a newly emerging active region nearby.P1 eventually erupted 13 hr after the breaking and escaped fromthe Sun,developing to a fast coronal mass ejection, and P2 stayed. But the mass in P1 falling down to P2 in theeruption suggests that the global magnetic fields over P1 and P2 were still connected to each other prior to theeruption. The reconnection process breaking the filament occurred outside the filament, and P1 and P2 were locatedalmost at the same altitude,so the fashion of the filament partial eruption studied here differs from that of the“double-decker model”and that of reconnection inside the filament.Analyzing the decay indices of thebackground fields above P1 and P2,n_(1)and n_(2),showed that the altitude where n_(1)exceeds the critical value of n_(c)=1.5 for the loss of equilibrium or the torus instability is lower than that where n_(2)>nc,and that n_(1)>n_(2) alwaysholds at all altitudes.Combining this fact with that the eruption occurred 13 hr after filament was broken byreconnection,we conclude that the eruption of P1 was triggered by the loss of equilibrium or the torus instability inthe configuration, and magnetic reconnection breaking the filament helped weaken the confinement of thebackground field on P1,allowing P1 to erupt.Detailed features of the eruption and the corresponding physicalscenario were also discussed.Kaifeng Kang Yang Guo Yan Li Jingxing Wang Jun Lin 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,9:0
The Tianlai Cylinder Pathfinder array: System functions and basic performance analysis显示文摘The Tianlai Cylinder Pathfinder is a radio interferometer array designed to test techniques for 21 cm intensity mapping in the post-reionization Universe, with the ultimate aim of mapping the large scale structure and measuring cosmological parameters such as the dark energy equation of state. Each of its three parallel cylinder reflectors is oriented in the north-south direction, and the array has a large field of view.As the Earth rotates, the northern sky is observed by drift scanning. The array is located in Hongliuxia,a radio-quiet site in Xinjiang, and saw its first light in September 2016.In this first data analysis paper for the Tianlai cylinder array,we discuss the sub-system qualification tests, and present basic system performance obtained from preliminary analysis of the commissioning observations during 2016-2018.We show typical interferometric visibility data, from which we derive the actual beam profile in the east-west direction and the frequency band-pass response. We describe also the calibration process to determine the complex gains for the array elements, either using bright astronomical point sources,or an artificial on site calibrator source, and discuss the instrument response stability, crucial for transit interferometry.Based on this analysis,we find a system temperature of about 90 K,and we also estimate the sensitivity of the array.JiXia Li ShiFan Zuo FengQuan Wu YouGang Wang JuYong Zhang ShiJie Sun YiDong Xu ZiJie Yu Reza Ansari YiChao Li Albert Stebbins Peter Timbie YanPing Cong JingChao Geng Jie Hao QiZhi Huang JianBin Li Rui Li DongHao Liu YingFeng Liu Tao Liu John PMarriner ChenHui Niu Ue-Li Pen Jeffery BPeterson HuLi Shi Lin Shu YaFang Song HaiJun Tian GuiSong Wang QunXiong Wang RongLi Wang WeiXia Wang Xin Wang KaiFeng Yu Jiao Zhang BoQin Zhu JiaLu Zhu XueLei Chen 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,12:0
Heat diffusion optimization in high performance perovskite solar cells integrated with zeolite显示文摘Heat accumulation inside perovskite solar cells causes the decomposition of the perovskite layer and hole transport materials(HTMs)under working conditions, yielding a decrease in long-term stability. Here,we present a zeolite-assisted heat conduction strategy by introducing economic zeolite crystals(e.g.,NaX,NaY,and ZSM-5)as a cooling filter to induce heat diffusion. The fitted thermal diffusion kinetic equation from real-time infrared thermal imaging technology reveals the zeolite skeleton assisted thermal co nduction mechanism of internal lattice vibration.Additionally, the nearly twofold improved conductivity of the modified HTM film is benefited from Na^(+)hopping on the supercages of the zeolite, therefore, the best-performed device with a rapid heat diffusion and defect inhibition obtains a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 23.42%.Both of NaX modified sprio-OMeTAD and PTAA based devices exhibit excellent operational stability after heating 1000 h at 85℃under N_(2)condition.This work demonstrates the potential application of economical porous zeolite materials in improving the thermal stability of PSCs.Wei Wang Jian Zhang Kaifeng Lin Jiaqi Wang Boyuan Hu Yayu Dong Debin Xia Yulin Yang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,11:0
