1Exploring a particle-size-reduction strategy of YAG:Ce phosphor via a chemical breakdown method显示文摘Particle size reduction of Y_(3)Al_(5)O_(12):Ce(YAG:Ce) phosphor is highly needed for micro-LED display applications. In this work, size control of YAG:Ce phosphor particles is achieved via carbon coating and further heat treatment.A thin layer of carbon is deposited on the surface of YAG:Ce by chemical vapor deposition.During the heat treatment, carbon reacts with oxygen element in the phosphor and escapes from phosphor particles. The reaction results in the phosphor breaking into smaller particles. The phosphors were characterized by laser light scattering for particle size distribution, scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy for morphologies,X-ray diffraction refinements for crystal structure and electron energy-loss spectroscopy for elemental analysis. It is demonstrated that the median diameter(D_(50)) of the phosphor particle size is significantly reduced from 19.1 to 0.96 μm yet the photoluminescent properties have little changes. The carbon coating and further heat treatment method show potential application in size control of phosphors.Hongren Chen Licheng Ju Li Zhang Xin Wang Linbo Zhang Xin Xu Lin Gao Kehui Qiu Liangjun Yin 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,8:1
2Fringe optimization for structured illumination super-resolution microscope with digital micromirror device显示文摘Structured illumination microscopy(SIM)is a promising super-resolution technique for imaging subcellular structures and dynamics due to its compatibility with most commonly usedffuorescent labeling methods.Structured illumination can be obtained by either laser interference or projection of fringe patterns. Here,we proposed a fringe projector composed of a compact multiwavelength LEDs module and a digital micromirror device(DMD)which can be directly attached to most commercial invertedffuorescent microscopes and update it into a SIM system. The effects of the period and duty cycle of fringe patterns on the modulation depth of the structured lightfield were studied. With the optimized fringe pattern,1:6×resolution improvement could be obtained with high-end oil objectives.Multicolor imaging and dynamics of subcellular organelles in live cells were also demonstrated. Our method provides a low-cost solution for SIM setup to expand its wide range of applications to most research labs in thefield of life science and medicine.Xibin Yang Qian Zhu Zhenglong Sun Gang Wen Xin Jin Linbo Wang Jialin Liu Daxi Xiong Hui Li 2019Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2019,,3:0
3Deblurring,artifact-free optical coherence tomography with deconvolution-random phase modulation显示文摘Deconvolution is a commonly employed technique for enhancing image quality in optical imaging methods.Unfortu-nately,its application in optical coherence tomography(OCT)is often hindered by sensitivity to noise, which leads to ad-ditive ringing artifacts. These artifacts considerably degrade the quality of deconvolved images, thereby limiting its effect-iveness in OCT imaging. In this study,we propose a framework that integrates numerical random phase masks into the deconvolution process, effectively eliminating these artifacts and enhancing image clarity. The optimized joint operation of an iterative Richardson-Lucy deconvolution and numerical synthesis of random phase masks(RPM),termed as De-conv-RPM,enables a 2.5-fold reduction in full width at half-maximum(FWHM).We demonstrate that the Deconv-RPM method significantly enhances image clarity, allowing for the discernment of previously unresolved cellular-level details in nonkeratinized epithelial cells ex vivo and moving blood cells in vivo.Xin Ge Si Chen Kan Lin Guangming Ni En Bo Lulu Wang Linbo Liu 2024Opto-Electronic Science2024,3,1:0
4Bio-inspired Attachment Mechanism of Dynastes Hercules:Vertical Climbing for On-Orbit Assembly Legged Robots显示文摘With the increasing size of space facilities,on-orbit assembly requires robots to move on different heights of trusses. This paper proposes a bio-inspired attachment mechanism for robot feet to enable climbing on different heights of trusses.Inspired by the attachment and grasping abilities of Dynastes Hercules,we utilize its foot microstructures, such as microhooks and setae,to achieve efficient contact and firm grip with the surface. The morphology and arrangement of these structures can inspire the design of robot feet to improve their grasping and stability performance. We study the biological structure of Dynastes Hercules, design and optimize the bio-inspired structure, analyze the influence of various factors from theoretical and experimental perspectives, and verify the feasibility of the scheme through simulation. We propose an ideal climbing strategy that provides useful reference for robot applications in practice. Moreover, the influence laws of various factors in this paper can be applied to robot foot design to improve their operation ability and stability performance in the space environment. This bio-inspired mechanism can improve robot working range and efficiency, which is critical for on-orbit assemblyin space.Yuetian Shi Xuyan Hou Zhonglai Na Jie Zhou Nan Yu Song Liu Linbo Xin Guowei Gao Yuhui Liu 2024Journal of Bionic Engineering2024,21,1:0
