32018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 9Metastatic human hepatocellular carcinoma models in nude mice and cell line with metastatic potential显示文摘Metastatic human HCC model is needed for the studies on mechanism and intervention of metastatic recurrence. By using orthotopic implantation of histologically intact tissues of 30 surgical specimens, a patient like metastatic model of human HCC in nude mice (LCI-D20)and a Iow metastatic model of human HCC in nude mice LCI-D35 ) have been established. All mice with transplanted LCI-D20 tumors exhibited extremely high metastatic ability including spontaneous metastasis to liver, lungs, lymph nodes and peritoneal seeding.Remarkable difference was also found in expression of some of the invasiveness related genes and growth factors between the LCI-D20 and LCI-D35 tumors. PAI-Iincreased gradually following tumor progression in LCID20 model, and correlated with tumor size and AFP level,Phasic expression of tissue intercellular adhesion molecule-I in this model was also observed. Using corneal micropocket model, it was demonstrated that the vascular response induced by LCI-D20 tumor was stronger than that induced by LCI-D35 tumor. Similar report on metastatic human HCC model in nude mice and human HCC cell line with metastatic potential was rarely found in the literature. 10A comparison of the Medieval Warm Period, Little Ice Age and 20th century warming simulated by the FGOALS climate system model显示文摘To compare differences among the Medieval Warm Period (MWP), Little Ice Age (LIA), and 20th century global warming (20CW), six sets of transient and equilibrium simulations were generated using the climate system model FGOALS_gl. This model was developed by the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The results indicate that MWP warming is evident on a global scale, except for at mid-latitudes of the North Pacific. However, the magnitude of the warming is weaker than that in the 20th century. The warming in the high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere is stronger than that in the Southern Hemisphere. The LIA cooling is also evident on a global scale, with a strong cooling over the high Eurasian continent, while the cooling center is over the Arctic domain. Both the MWP and the 20CW experiments exhibit the strongest warming anomalies in the middle troposphere around 200-300 hPa, but the cooling center of the LIA experiment is seen in the polar surface of the Northern Hemisphere. A comparison of model simulation against the reconstruction indicates that model's performance in simulating the surface air temperature changes during the warm periods is better than that during the cold periods. The consistencies between model and reconstruction in lower latitudes are better than those in high latitudes. Comparison of the inter-annual variability mode of East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) rainfall during the MWP, LIA and 20CW reveals a similar rainfall anomalies pattern. However, the time spectra of the principal component during the three typical periods of the last millennium are different, and the quasi-biannual oscillation is more evident during the two warm periods. At a centennial time scale, the external mode of the EASM variability driven by the changes of effective solar radiation is determined by the changes of large scale land-sea thermal contrast. 11Major Function Oriented Zone: New Method of Spatial Regulation for Reshaping Regional Development Pattern in China显示文摘Newest planning methods implemented by Chinese government are promoting a coordinated regional development and shaping an orderly spatial structure by applying the regulation of territorial function. 12Development of a national VNIR soil-spectral library for soil classification and prediction of organic matter concentrations显示文摘Soil visible-near infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(vis-NIR DRS)has become an important area of research in the fields of remote and proximal soil sensing.The technique is considered to be particularly useful for acquiring data for soil digital mapping,precision agriculture and soil survey.In this study,1581 soil samples were collected from 14 provinces in China,including Tibet,Xinjiang,Heilongjiang,and Hainan.The samples represent 16 soil groups of the Genetic Soil Classification of China.After air-drying and sieving,the diffuse reflectance spectra of the samples were measured under laboratory conditions in the range between 350 and 2500 nm using a portable vis-NIR spectrometer.All the soil spectra were smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay method with first derivatives before performing multivariate data analyses.The spectra were compressed using principal components analysis and the fuzzy k-means method was used to calculate the optimal soil spectral classification.The scores of the principal component analyses were classified into five clusters that describe the mineral and organic composition of the soils.The results on the classification of the spectra are comparable to the results of other similar research.Spectroscopic predictions of soil organic matter concentrations used a combination of the soil spectral classification with multivariate calibration using partial least squares regression(PLSR).This combination significantly improved the predictions of soil organic matter(R2=0.899;RPD=3.158)compared with using PLSR alone(R2=0.697;RPD=1.817).SHI Zhou WANG QianLong PENG Jie JI WenJun LIU HuanJun LI Xi Raphael A VISCARRA ROSSEL 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,7:32
13Broadband diffusion of terahertz waves by multi-bit coding metasurfaces显示文摘The terahertz region is a special region of the electromagnetic spectrum that incorporates the advantages of both microwaves and infrared light waves.In the past decade,metamaterials with effective medium parameters or gradient phases have been studied to control terahertz waves and realize functional devices.Here,we present a new approach to manipulate terahertz waves by using coding metasurfaces that are composed of digital coding elements.We propose a general coding unit based on a Minkowski closed-loop particle that is capable of generating 1-bit coding(with two phase states of 0 and 180°),2-bit coding(with four phase states of 0,90°,180°,and 270°),and multi-bit coding elements in the terahertz frequencies by using different geometric scales.We show that multi-bit coding metasurfaces have strong abilities to control terahertz waves by designing-specific coding sequences.As an application,we demonstrate a new scattering strategy of terahertz waves—broadband and wide-angle diffusion—using a 2-bit coding metasurface with a special coding design and verify it by both numerical simulations and experiments.The presented method opens a new route to reducing the scattering of terahertz waves.Li-Hua Gao Qiang Cheng Jing Yang Shao-Jie Ma Jie Zhao Shuo Liu Hai-Bing Chen Qiong He Wei-Xiang Jiang Hui-Feng Ma Qi-Ye Wen Lan-Ju Liang Biao-Bing Jin Wei-Wei Liu Lei Zhou Jian-Quan Yao Pei-Heng Wu Tie-Jun Cui 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:31
14Hygroscopic growth of aerosol scattering coefficient:A comparative analysis between urban and suburban sites at winter in Beijing显示文摘A humidity controlled inlet system was developed to measure the hygroscopic growth of aerosol scattering coefficient in conjunction with nephelometry at an urban site of Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences (CAMS) in Beijing and a rural site at Shangdianzi Regional Background Air Pollution Monitoring Station (SDZ) outside Beijing during winter, from December 2005 to January 2006. Measurements were carried out at a wavelength of 525 nm with an Ecotech M9003 nephelometer. The hygroscopic growth function (or factor) of the aerosol scattering coefficient f(RH) increased continuously with increasing relative humidity (RH) and showed no obvious 'step-like' deliquescent behavior at both sites during the experiment. The average growth factor f(RH) at the SDZ site could reach 1.5 when RH increased from less than 40% to 92%, and to 2.1 at the CAMS site when RH increased from less than 40% to 93%. The average hygroscopic growth factor at a relative humidity of 80%, f(RH = 80 ± 1%), was found to be about 1.26 ± 0.15 at CAMS and 1.24 ± 0.11 at SDZ. Further analysis indicated that under relatively polluted conditions, the average hygroscopic growth factor was higher at the CAMS site than that at the SDZ site. However, under relatively clean air conditions, the difference between the two sites was small, showing a hygroscopic growth behavior similar to those of burning biomass or blowing dust. They have been widely used as the reference standard for classifying Late Quaternary glaciations on the Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding mountains. However, the numerical chronologies of both glaciations have been lacking. In this study, cosmogenic 10Be dating was undertaken to define the timing of these two glaciations. The surface boulders deposited by the glaciers of the Guxiang and Baiyu Glaciations have exposure ages of 112.9±16.7―136.5±15.8 ka BP and 11.1±1.9―18.5±2.2 ka BP, respectively. 18Tillage and straw mulching impacts on grain yield and water use efficiency of spring maize in Northern Huang–Huai–Hai Valley显示文摘A two-year field experiment(2012–2013) was conducted to investigate the effects of two tillage methods and five maize straw mulching patterns on the yield, water consumption,and water use efficiency(WUE) of spring maize(Zea mays L.) in the northern Huang–Huai–Hai valley of China. Compared to rotary tillage, subsoil tillage resulted in decreases in water consumption by 6.3–7.8% and increases in maize yield by 644.5–673.9 kg ha-1, soil water content by 2.9–3.0%, and WUE by 12.7–15.2%. Chopped straw mulching led to higher yield,soil water content, and WUE as well as lower water consumption than prostrate whole straw mulching. Mulching with 50% chopped straw had the largest positive effects on maize yield, soil water content, and WUE among the five mulching treatments. Tillage had greater influence on maize yield than straw mulching, whereas straw mulching had greater influence on soil water content, water consumption, and WUE than tillage. 19Expenditure and financial burden for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer in China:a hospital.based,multicenter,cross-sectional survey显示文摘Background: The increasing prevalence of colorectal cancer(CRC) in China and the paucity of information about relevant expenditure highlight the necessity of better understanding the financial burden and effect of CRC diagnosis and treatment. We performed a survey to quantify the direct medical and non-medical expenditure as well as the resulting financial burden of CRC patients in China.Methods: We conducted a multicenter, cross-sectional survey in 37 tertiary hospitals in 13 provinces across China between 2012 and 2014. Each enrolled patient was interviewed using a structured questionnaire. All expenditure data were inflated to the 2014 Chinese Yuan(CNY; 1 CNY = 0.163 USD). We quantified the overall expenditure and financial burden and by subgroup(hospital type, age at diagnosis, sex, education, occupation, insurance type, household income, clinical stage, pathologic type, and therapeutic regimen). We then performed generalized linear modeling to determine the factors associated with overall expenditure.Results: A total of 2356 patients with a mean age of 57.4 years were included, 57.1 % of whom were men; 13.9% of patients had stage I cancer; and the average previous-year household income was 54,525 CNY.The overall average direct expenditure per patient was estimated to be 67,408 CNY, and the expenditures for stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and Ⅳ disease were 56,099 CNY, 59,952 CNY, 67,292 CNY, and 82,729 CNY, respectively. Non-medical expenditure accounted for 8.3%of the overall expenditure. The 1-year out-of-pocket expenditure of a newly diagnosed patient was 32,649 CNY, which accounted for 59.9% of their previous-year household income and caused 75.0% of families to suffer an unmanageable financial burden. Univariate analysis showed that financial burden and overall expenditure differed in almost all subgroups(P < 0.05), except for sex. Multivariate analysis showed that patients who were treated in specialized hospitals and those who were diagnosed with adenocarcinoma or diagnosed at a later stage were likely to spend more,whereas those with a lower household income and those who underwent surgery spent less(all P < 0.05).Conclusions: For patients in China, direct expenditure for the diagnosis and treatment of CRC seemed catastrophic,and non-medical expenditure was non-ignorable. 20Biliary tract injury caused by different relative warm ischemia time in liver transplantation in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND:There is a controversy over the degree of liver and biliary injury caused by the period of secondary warm ischemia.A liver autotransplantation model was adopted because it excludes the effects of infection and immunological rejection on bile duct injury.This study was undertaken to assess biliary tract injury caused by relative warm ischemia(secondary warm ischemia time in the biliary tract)and reperfusion. METHODS:One hundred and two rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:groupⅠ(control);groupsⅡtoⅤ, relative warm ischemia times of 0 minute,30 minutes,1 hour and 2 hours.In addition to the levels of serum alkaline phosphatase,and total bilirubin,pathomorphology assessment and TUNEL assay were performed to evaluate biliary tract damage. RESULTS:Under the conditions that there were no significant differences in warm ischemia time,cold perfusion time and anhepatic phase,group comparisons showed statistically significant differences.The least injury occurred in groupⅡ(portal vein and hepatic artery reperfused simultaneously)but the most severe injury occurred in groupⅤ(biliary tract relative warm ischemia time 2 hours).
