Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target. To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality, this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades, clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world, and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies, the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades, and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source. The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland, wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink, but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration, nitrogen deposition, climate change, and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks, while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance. The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe, while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China. For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios. | Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5: | 32
Investigation on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys with various Zn/Mg ratios显示文摘The effects of Zn/Mg ratios on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys aged at 150℃have been investigated by using tensile tests, optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography analyses. With increasing Zn/Mg ratios, the ageing process is significantly accelerated and the time to peak ageing is reduced.T’phase predominates in alloys of lower Zn/Mg ratios whileη’phase predominates in alloys with a Zn/Mg ratio over 2.86.Co-existence of T’phase andη’phase with a large number density is beneficial to the high strength of alloys.Such precipitates together with narrow precipitate free zones cause a brittle intergranular fracture.A strength model has been established to predict the co-strengthening effect of T’phase andη’phase in Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys, including the factors of the grain boundary, solid solution and precipitation. | Yan Zou Xiaodong Wu Songbai Tang Qianqian Zhu Hui Song Mingxing Guo Lingfei Cao | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26: | 12
Plant property regulates soil bacterial community structure under altered precipitation regimes in a semi-arid desert grassland, China显示文摘Variations of precipitation have great impacts on soil carbon cycle and decomposition of soil organic matter.Soil bacteria are crucial participants in regulating these ecological processes and vulnerable to altered precipitation.Studying the impacts of altered precipitation on soil bacterial community structure can provide a novel insight into the potential impacts of altered precipitation on soil carbon cycle and carbon storage of grassland. Therefore, soil bacterial community structure under a precipitation manipulation experiment was researched in a semi-arid desert grassland in Chinese Loess Plateau.Five precipitation levels,i.e.,control,reduced and increased precipitation by 40%and 20%,respectively(referred here as CK,DP40,DP20,IP40,and IP20)were set.The results showed that soil bacterial alpha diversity and rare bacteria significantly changed with altered precipitation, but the dominant bacteria and soil bacterial beta diversity did not change, which may be ascribed to the ecological strategy of soil bacteria. The linear discriminate analysis(LDA)effect size(LEfSe)method found that major response patterns of soil bacteria to altered precipitation were resource-limited and drought-tolerant populations. In addition, increasing precipitation greatly promoted inter-species competition, while decreasing precipitation highly facilitated inter-species cooperation. These changes in species interaction can promote different distribution ratios of bacterial populations under different precipitation conditions. In structural equation model(SEM)analysis, with changes in precipitation, plant growth characteristics were found to be drivers of soil bacterial community composition, while soil properties were not.In conclusion, our results indicated that in desert grassland ecosystem, the sensitive of soil rare bacteria to altered precipitation was stronger than that of dominant taxa, which may be related to the ecological strategy of bacteria, species interaction, and precipitation-induced variations of plant growth characteristics. | ZHANG Lihua GAO Han WANG Junfeng ZHAO Ruifeng WANG Mengmeng HAO Lianyi GUO Yafei JIANG Xiaoyu ZHONG Lingfei | 2023 | Journal of Arid Land2023,15,5: | 0
Synergetic effect of natural ageing and pre-stretching on the ageing behavior in Tʹ/ηʹ phase-strengthened Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys显示文摘Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys with different major strengthening precipitates are subjected to a novel combinatorial pre-treatment,including natural ageing and pre-stretching.The evolution of hardness and microstructure during the combinatorial pre-treatment and subsequent artificial ageing has been investigated. The results reveal that the growth rate of hardness in alloy B(Zn/Mg=10.0)is much higher than that of alloy A(Zn/Mg=1.5)due to the fast precipitation kinetics ofηphase compared with T phase. Both GP I zones and dislocations introduced by the combinatorial pre-treatment can act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for precipitation, resulting in more precipitates and higher hardness than pre-stretched alloys A and B.Dislocations distribute uniformly in combinatorial pre-treated alloys owing to the existence of GP I zones and dislocations, which promote the precipitation and refine the precipitate size. Moreover, these alloys with distinct pre-stretching(2%–10%)show similar precipitation behavior and peak hardness, and it indicates that the dislocation-induced precipitation will not be affected by the density of dislocations when plenty of GP I zones pre-exist. | Yan Zou Lingfei Cao Xiaodong Wu Songbai Tang Mingxing Guo | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,15: | 0

mTORC1 signaling pathway regulates tooth repair显示文摘Tooth germ injury can lead to abnormal tooth development and even tooth loss, affecting various aspects of the stomatognathic system including form, function, and appearance. However, the research about tooth germ injury model on cellular and molecule mechanism of tooth germ repair is still very limited. Therefore,it is of great importance for the prevention and treatment of tooth germ injury to study the important mechanism of tooth germ repair by a tooth germ injury model. Here,we constructed a Tg(dlx2b:Dendra2-NTR)transgenic line that labeled tooth germ specifically.Taking advantage of the NTR/Mtz system, the dlx2b+tooth germ cells were depleted by Mtz effectively. The process of tooth germ repair was evaluated by antibody staining,in situ hybridization,Ed U staining and alizarin red staining. The severely injured tooth germ was repaired in several days after Mtz treatment was stopped. In the early stage of tooth germ repair, the expression of phosphorylated 4E-BP1 was increased, indicating that mTORC1 is activated.Inhibition of mTORC1 signaling in vitro or knockdown of mTORC1 signaling in vivo could inhibit the repair of injured tooth germ.Normally, mouse incisors were repaired after damage, but inhibition/promotion of mTORC1 signaling inhibited/promoted this repair progress.Overall,we are the first to construct a stable and repeatable repair model of severe tooth germ injury, and our results reveal that mTORC1 signaling plays a crucial role during tooth germ repair, providing a potential target for clinical treatment of tooth germ injury. | Honghong Liu Yu Yue Zhiyun Xu Li Guo Chuan Wu Da Zhang Lingfei Luo Wenming Huang Hong Chen Deqin Yang | 2023 | International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1: | 0
