1Comparative Analysis of Microwave Brightness Temperature Data in Northeast China Using AMSR-E and MWRI Products显示文摘With such significant advantages as all-day observation, penetrability and all-weather coverage, passive mi-crowave remote sensing technique has been widely applied in the research of global environmental change. As the sat-ellite-based passive microwave remote sensor, the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer-Earth Observing Sys-tem (AMSR-E) loaded on NASA's (National Aeronautics and Space Administration of USA) Aqua satellite has been popularly used in the field of microwave observation. The Microwave Radiation Imager (MWRI) loaded on the Chi-nese FengYun-3A (FY-3A) satellite is an AMSR-E-like conical scanning microwave sensor, but there are few reports about MWRI data. This paper firstly proposed an optimal spatial position matching algorithm from rough to exact for the position matching between AMSR-E and MWRI data, then taking Northeast China as an example, comparatively analyzed the microwave brightness temperature data derived from AMSR-E and MWRI. The results show that when the antenna footprints of the two sensors are filled with either full water, or full land, or mixed land and water with ap-proximate proportion, the errors of brightness temperature between AMSR-E and MWRI are usually in the range from -10 K to +10 K. In general, the residual values of brightness temperature between the two microwave sensors with the same spatial resolution are in the range of ±3 K. Because the spatial resolution of AMSR-E is three times as high as that of MWRI, the results indicate that the quality of MWRI data is better. 2Effect of Silicon on Growth, Physiology, and Cadmium Translocation of Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) in Cadmium-Contaminated Soil显示文摘Silicon(Si) offers beneficial effect on plants under cadmium(Cd) stress such as promoting plant growth and increasing resistance to heavy metal toxicity. In this study, a pot experiment was performed to study the role of Si in alleviating Cd toxicity in tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.) plants on a yellow soil taken from Guiyang, China. Nine treatments consisting of three concentrations of Cd(0, 1, and 5 mg kg^(-1)) together with three Si levels(0, 1, and 4 g kg^(-1)) were established. Plant growth parameters, Cd concentration,and the malondialdehyde(MDA), chlorophyll, and carotenoid contents were determined 100 d after transplanting of tobacco seedlings.Application of exogenous Si enhanced the growth of tobacco plants under Cd stress. When 5 mg kg^(-1) Cd was added, Si addition at 1 and 4 g kg^(-1) increased root, stem, and leaf biomass by 26.1%–43.3%, 33.7%–43.8%, and 50.8%–69.9%, respectively, compared to Si addition at 0 g kg^(-1). With Si application, the transfer factor of Cd in tobacco from root to shoot under both 1 and 5 mg kg^(-1) Cd treatments decreased by 21%. The MDA contents in the Si-treated tobacco plants declined by 5.5%–17.1% compared to those in the non-Si-treated plants, indicating a higher Cd tolerance. Silicon application also increased the chlorophyll and carotenoid contents by 33.9%–41% and 25.8%–47.3% compared to the Cd only treatments. 5An AMSR-E Data Unmixing Method for Monitoring Flood and Waterlogging Disaster显示文摘Spectral remote sensing technique is usually used to monitor flood and waterlogging disaster.Although spectral remote sensing data have many advantages for ground information observation,such as real time and high spatial resolution,they are often interfered by clouds,haze and rain.As a result,it is very difficult to retrieve ground information from spectral remote sensing data under those conditions.Compared with spectral remote sensing tech-nique,passive microwave remote sensing technique has obvious superiority in most weather conditions.However,the main drawback of passive microwave remote sensing is the extreme low spatial resolution.Considering the wide ap-plication of the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer-Earth Observing System(AMSR-E) data,an AMSR-E data unmixing method was proposed in this paper based on Bellerby's algorithm.By utilizing the surface type classifi-cation results with high spatial resolution,the proposed unmixing method can obtain the component brightness tem-perature and corresponding spatial position distribution,which effectively improve the spatial resolution of passive microwave remote sensing data.Through researching the AMSR-E unmixed data of Yongji County,Jilin Provinc,Northeast China after the worst flood and waterlogging disaster occurred on July 28,2010,the experimental results demonstrated that the AMSR-E unmixed data could effectively evaluate the flood and waterlogging disaster.GU Lingjia ZHAO Kai ZHANG Shuang ZHENG Xingming 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,6:2
6Effects of Snow Cover on Ground Thermal Regime: A Case Study in Heilongjiang Province of China显示文摘The important effects of snow cover to ground thermal regime has received much attention of scholars during the past few decades. In the most of previous research, the effects were usually evaluated through the numerical models and many important results are found. However, less examples and insufficient data based on field measurements are available to show natural cases. In the present work, a typical case study in Mohe and Beijicun meteorological stations, which both are located in the most northern tip of China, is given to show the effects of snow cover on the ground thermal regime. The spatial(the ground profile) and time series analysis in the extremely snowy winter of 2012–2013 in Heilongjiang Province are also performed by contrast with those in the winter of 2011–2012 based on the measured data collected by 63 meteorological stations. Our results illustrate the positive(warmer) effect of snow cover on the ground temperature(GT) on the daily basis, the highest difference between GT and daily mean air temperature(DGAT) is as high as 32.35℃. Moreover, by the lag time analysis method it is found that the response time of GT from 0 cm to 20 cm ground depth to the alternate change of snow depth has 10 days lag, while at 40 cm depth the response of DGAT is not significant. 9Microbial remediation of a pentachloronitrobenzene-contaminated soil under Panax notoginseng: A field experiment显示文摘Pentachloronitrobenzene(PCNB)is an organochlorine fungicide that is mainly used in the prevention and control of diseases in crop seedlings.Microbial removal is used as a promising method for in-situ removal of many organic pesticides and pesticide residues.A short-term field experiment(1 year)was conducted to explore the potential role of a PCNB-degrading bacterial isolate,Cupriavidus sp.YNS-85,in the remediation of a PCNB-contaminated soil on which Panax notoginseng was grown.The following three treatments were used:i)control soil amended with wheat bran but without YNS-85,ii)soil with 0.15 kg m-2of solid bacterial inoculum(A),and iii)soil with 0.30 kg m-2of solid bacterial inoculum(B).The removal of soil PCNB during the microbial remediation was monitored using gas chromatography.Soil catalase and fluorescein diacetate(FDA)esterase activities were determined using spectrophotometry.In addition,cultivable bacteria,fungi,and actinomycetes were counted by plating serial dilutions,and the microbial biodiversity of the soil was analyzed using BIOLOG.After 1 year of in-situ remediation,the soil PCNB concentrations decreased significantly by 50.3%and 74.2%in treatments A and B,respectively,when compared with the uninoculated control.The soil catalase activity decreased in the presence of the bacterial isolate,the FDA esterase activity decreased in treatment A,but increased in treatment B.No significant changes in plant biomass,diversity of the soil microbial community,or physicochemical properties of the soil were observed between the control and inoculated groups(P<0.05).The results indicate that Cupriavidus sp.YNS-85 is a potential candidate for the remediation of PCNB-contaminated soils under P.notoginseng.Ning ZHANG Dong GUO Ye ZHU Xiaomi WANG Lingjia ZHU Fang LIU Ying TENG Peter CHRISTIE Zhengao LI Yongming LUO 2020Pedosphere2020,30,4:1

16A novel fine-resolution snow depth retrieval model to revealdetailed spatiotemporal patterns of snow cover in NortheastChina显示文摘Seasonal snow cover is a key component of the global climate and hydrological system,it has drawn considerable attention under global warming conditions.Although several passive microwave(PMW)snow depth(SD)products have been developed since the 1970s,they inherit noticeable errors and uncertainties when representing spatial distributions and temporal changes of SD,especially in complex mountainous regions.In this paper,we developed afine-resolution SD retrieval model(FSDM)using machine learning to improve SD estimation quality for Northeast China and produced a long-term,fine-resolution,daily SD dataset.The accuracies of the FSDM dataset were evaluated against in-situ SD data along with existing SD products.The results showed the FSDM dataset provided satisfactory inversion accuracy in spatiotemporal evaluation,with the root-mean-square error(RMSE),bias,and correlation coefficient(R)of 7.10 cm,-0.13 cm,and 0.60.Additionally,we analyzed the spatiotemporal variations of SD in Northeast China and found that snow cover was mainly distributed in the Greater Khingan Range,Lesser Khingan Mountains,and Changbai Mountain regions.The SD exhibited high-low distribution patterns with the increased latitude.The annual mean SD slightly increased at the rate of 0.029 cm/year during 1987-2018.Yanlin Wei Xiaofeng Li Lingjia Gu Xingming Zheng Tao Jiang 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:1

20Spatiotemporal Changes of Snow Depth in Western Jilin,China from 1987 to 2018显示文摘Seasonal snow cover is a key global climate and hydrological system component drawing considerable attention due to glob-al warming conditions.However,the spatiotemporal snow cover patterns are challenging in western Jilin,China due to natural condi-tions and sparse observation.Hence,this study investigated the spatiotemporal patterns of snow cover using fine-resolution passive mi-crowave(PMW)snow depth(SD)data from 1987 to 2018,and revealed the potential influence of climate factors on SD variations.The results indicated that the interannual range of SD was between 2.90 cm and 9.60 cm during the snowy winter seasons and the annual mean SD showed a slightly increasing trend(P>0.05)at a rate of 0.009 cm/yr.In snowmelt periods,the snow cover contributed to an increase in volumetric soil water,and the change in SD was significantly affected by air temperature.The correlation between SD and air temperature was negative,while the correlation between SD and precipitation was positive during December and March.In March,the correlation coefficient exceeded 0.5 in Zhenlai,Da’an,Qianan,and Qianguo counties.However,the SD and precipitation were neg-atively correlated over western Jilin in October,and several subregions presented a negative correlation between SD and precipitation in November and April.WEI Yanlin LI Xiaofeng GU Lingjia ZHENG Zhaojun ZHENG Xingming JIANG Tao 2024Chinese Geographical Science2024,34,2:0
