1Efficient elimination of multidrug-resistant bacteria using copper sulfide nanozymes anchored to graphene oxide nanosheets显示文摘Antibacterial nanomaterials have attracted growing interest for bacterial infection therapy.However,most nanomaterials eliminate bacteria either physically or chemically,which hampers their efficacy when dealing with multidrug-resistant bacteria.To overcome this,we integrated copper sulfide(CuS)nanoparticles with active graphene oxide nanosheets(GO NSs)to synthesize a superior nanocomposite(CuS/GO NC)that acts both physically and chemically on the bacteria.CuS/GO NC was produced using a facile hydrothermal method,whereby the CuS nanoparticles grew and were uniformly dispersed on the GO NSs in situ.We found that the CuS/GO NC possesses a unique needle-like morphology that physically damages the bacterial cell membrane.CuS/GO NC also exhibits high oxidase-and peroxidase-like activity,ensuring efficient generation of the reactive oxygen species•OH from H2O2,which kills bacteria chemically.These features endow the CuS/GO NC with excellent antibacterial capabilities to kill multidrug-resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)with only a single dose.Additionally,it was found that the CuS/GO NC accelerated the healing of infected wounds in vivo owing to its good biocompatibility as well as facilitation of cell migration and collagen secretion.This study provides a new strategy to combine the physical and chemical antibacterial modes of nanomaterials to develop more effective therapies to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections.Wanshun Wang Binglin Li Huili Yang Zefeng Lin Lingling Chen Zhan Li Jiayuan Ge Tao Zhang Hong Xia Lihua Li Yao Lu 2020Nano Research2020,13,8:8
2Effect of Landform on Seasonal Temperature Structures across China in the Past 52 Years显示文摘The data of 160 national meteorological observatory stations including the long-term monthly temperature data in China were analyzed to study the seasonal variation of the spatial temperature structures across China in the past half century. It is found that temperature structures differ between seasons: a latitude temperature pattern in winter and a landform temperature pattern in summer, which indicate that the effect of landform on temperature structure is much stronger in summer than that in winter and the effect of latitudinal temperature is much stronger in winter than that in summer. 3Evolution of the East China Sea sedimentary environment in the past 14 kyr: Insights from tetraethers-based proxies显示文摘We reconstruct the environmental evolution of the East China Sea in the past 14 kyr based on glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(GDGTs) in a sediment core from the subaqueous Yangtze River Delta. Two primary phases are recognized. Phase I(13.8–8 cal kyr BP) reflects a predominantly continental influence, showing distinctly higher concentrations of branched GDGTs(averaged 143 ng/g dry sediment weight, dsw) than isoprenoid GDGTs(averaged 36 ng/g dsw), high BIT index(branched vs. isoprenoid tetraethers) values(>0.78) and a fluctuating GDGT-0/crenarchaeol ratio(R_(0/5), varied from 0.52 to 3.81). Within this interval, temporal increases of terrestrial and marine influence are attributed to Younger Dryas(YD)(ca. 12.9–12.2 cal kyr BP) cold event and melt-water pulse(MWP)-1B(11.5–11.1 cal kyr BP), respectively. The prominent transition from 8 to 7.9 cal kyr BP shows a sharp decrease in BIT index value(<0.4) and increase in crenarchaeol, which marks the beginning of phase II. Afterwards, the proxies remain relatively constant, which indicates that phase II(7.9 cal kyr BP-present) is a shelf sedimentary environment with high stand of sea level. Overall, the BIT index in our record serves as a good marker for terrestrial influence at the site, and likely reflects the flooding history of the region. The TEX_(86)(Tetra Ether Index of tetraethers consisting of 86 carbons) proxy is not applicable in phase I because of an excess terrestrial influence; but it seems to be valid for revealing the annual SST in phase II(21.6±0.9°C, n=49). In contrast, the MBT'/CBT(Methylation of Branched Tetraethers and Cyclization of Branched Tetraethers) proxy appears to faithfully record the annual mean air temperature(MAT)(14.3±0.63°C, n=68) and presents an integrated signal over the middle and lower Yangtze River drainage basin.GE HuangMin ZHANG ChuanLun VERSTEEGH Gerard J.M. 4Dimethyloxallyl glycine/nanosilicates-loaded osteogenic/angiogenic difunctional fibrous structure for functional periodontal tissue regeneration显示文摘The coupled process of osteogenesis-angiogenesis plays a crucial role in periodontal tissue regeneration.Although various cytokines or chemokines have been widely applied in periodontal in situ tissue engineering,most of them are macromolecular proteins with the drawbacks of short effective half-life,poor stability and high cost,which constrain their clinical translation.Our study aimed to develop a difunctional structure for periodontal tissue regeneration by incorporating an angiogenic small molecule,dimethyloxalylglycine(DMOG),and an osteoinductive inorganic nanomaterial,nanosilicate(nSi)into poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)fibers by electrospinning.The physiochemical properties of DMOG/nSi-PLGA fibrous membranes were characterized.Thereafter,the effect of DMOG/nSi-PLGA membranes on periodontal tissue regeneration was evaluated by detecting osteogenic and angiogenic differentiation potential of periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs)in vitro.Additionally,the fibrous membranes were transplanted into rat periodontal defects,and tissue regeneration was assessed with histological evaluation,micro-computed tomography(micro-CT),and immunohistochemical analysis.DMOG/nSi-PLGA membranes possessed preferable mechanical property and biocompatibility.PDLSCs seeded on the DMOG/nSi-PLGA membranes showed up-regulated expression of osteogenic and angiogenic markers,higher alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity,and more tube formation in comparison with single application.Further,in vivo study showed that the DMOG/nSi-PLGA membranes promoted recruitment of CD90+/CD34��stromal cells,induced angiogenesis and osteogenesis,and regenerated cementum-ligament-bone complex in periodontal defects.Consequently,the combination of DMOG and nSi exerted admirable effects on periodontal tissue regeneration.DMOG/nSi-PLGA fibrous membranes could enhance and orchestrate osteogenesis-angiogenesis,and may have the potential to be translated as an effective scaffold in periodontal tissue engineering.Lingling Shang Ziqi Liu Baojin Ma Jinlong Shao Bing Wang Chenxi Ma Shaohua Ge 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,4:5
5CLDASSD:Reconstructing Fine Textures of the Temperature Field Using Super-Resolution Technology显示文摘Before 2008,the number of surface observation stations in China was small.Thus,the surface observation data were too sparse to effectively support the High-resolution China Meteorological Administration’s Land Assimilation System(HRCLDAS)which ultimately inhibited the output of high-resolution and high-quality gridded products.This paper proposes a statistical downscaling model based on a deep learning algorithm in super-resolution to research the above problem.Specifically,we take temperature as an example.The model is used to downscale the 0.0625°×0.0625°,2-m temperature data from the China Meteorological Administration’s Land Data Assimilation System(CLDAS)to 0.01°×0.01°,named CLDASSD.We performed quality control on the paired data from CLDAS and HRCLDAS,using data from 2018 and 2019.CLDASSD was trained on the data from 31 March 2018 to 28 February 2019,and then tested with the remaining data.Finally,extensive experiments were conducted in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region which features complex and diverse geomorphology.Taking the HRCLDAS product and surface observation data as the'true values'and comparing them with the results of bilinear interpolation,especially in complex terrain such as mountains,the root mean square error(RMSE)of the CLDASSD output can be reduced by approximately 0.1℃,and its structural similarity(SSIM)was approximately 0.2 higher.CLDASSD can estimate detailed textures,in terms of spatial distribution,with greater accuracy than bilinear interpolation and other sub-models and can perform the expected downscaling tasks.Ruian TIE Chunxiang SHI Gang WAN Xingjie HU Lihua KANG Lingling GE 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,1:2

7Correlation of periodontal diseases with intracranial aneurysm formation:novel predictive indicators显示文摘Background:We investigated whether periodontal diseases,specifically,periodontitis and gingivitis,could be risk factors of the incidence of intracranial aneurysms(IAs).Methods:We performed a case–control study to compare the differences in the periodontal disease parameters of 281 cases that were divided into the IAs group and non-IAs group.All cases underwent complete radiographic examination for IAs and examination for periodontal health.Results:Comparing with those in the non-IAs group,the cases in the IAs group were older(53.95±8.56 vs 47.79±12.33,p<0.001)and had a higher incidence of hypertension(76 vs 34,p=0.006).Univariate logistic regression analysis revealed that age(>50 years)and hypertension were predictive risk factors of aneurysm formation(odds ratio[OR]1.047,95%confidence interval[95%CI]1.022–1.073,p<0.001 and OR 2.047,95%CI 1.232–3.401,p=0.006).In addition,univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the parameters of periodontal diseases,including gingival index,plaque index,clinical attachment loss,and alveolar bone loss,were significantly associated with the occurrence of IAs(all p<0.05).For further statistical investigation,the parameters of periodontal diseases were divided into four layers based on the quartered data.Poorer periodontal health condition(especially gingival index>1.1 and plaque index>1.5)had the correlation with IAs formation(p=0.007 and p<0.001).Conclusion:Severe gingivitis or periodontitis,combining with hypertension,is significantly associated with the incidence of IAs.Keyun Liu Jia Sun Lingling Shao Hongwei He Qinglin Liu Youxiang Li Huijian Ge 2021Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2021,7,3:1

11Variations in the starting date of the pre-summer rainy season in South China, 1736-2010显示文摘The starting dates of the pre-summer rainy season during historical times(1736– 1911) in Fuzhou and Guangzhou of South China, were determined and reconstructed on the basis of historical documents in the Yu-Xue-Fen-Cun archive, together with observed features of precipitation during the pre-summer rainy season. In addition, starting dates of the pre-summer rainy season from 1953 in Fuzhou and from 1952 in Guangzhou were reconstructed for the instrumental period. These data allowed for analyses of inter-annual and inter-decadal changes in the starting dates of the pre-summer rainy season in South China over the past 300 years. Results show that the mean starting date of the pre-summer rainy season in South China was the first pentad of May; in addition, periodicities in the starting dates of 2–3 years, 10 years, and 40 years were detected during the period 1736–1911, and of 2–3 years, 10 years, and 22 years during the instrumental period. From 1736 to 1911, the earliest starting dates at Fuzhou and Guangzhou both occurred at the fourth pentad of April, while the latest starting dates were at the sixth pentad of May in Fuzhou and the first pentad of June in Guangzhou. During the instrumental period, the earliest and latest starting dates were at the fourth pentad of April and the first pentad of June, respectively, in both Fuzhou during 1953–2010 and Guangzhou during 1952–2010. 20Analysis of the current Covid-19 infection and vaccination status in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1显示文摘Background:To investigate the common symptoms after Covid-19 infection,characteristics of adverse events after vaccination,changes in clinical manifestations related to Neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1),as well as the current vaccination status and factors related to vaccine hesitation among NF1 patients,in order to provide a basis for scientific protection and vaccine acceptance in NF1 individuals in the new phase of pandemic management.Methods:From December 29,2022,to January 10,2023,we conducted a self-assessment questionnaire survey among diagnosed NF1 patients.General data were provided including sex,age,main clinical presentations,and current treatment.This study mainly focused on the infection and vaccination status of Covid-19 among these patients with NF1.The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS26.0 software.Results:Of the 250 questionnaires distributed,226 were valid.Among the 164 patients(72.6%)with Covid-19 infection,the most common infection symptoms and incidence of patients were not significantly different from those in the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of symptoms such as nasal congestion,headache,myalgia,sore throat,abdominal pain,diarrhea,and eye discomfort was higher than that in the normal population(P<0.05),and no severe infection was observed;186 patients(82.3%)had completed the Covid-19 vaccination,and more than half of those who were not vaccinated had no plans for vaccination.Among the vaccinated patients,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events,such as fever,pain,redness,and swelling at the injection site after vaccination,compared to the normal population(P>0.05),but the incidence of fatigue and headache was higher in NF1 patients(P<0.001).Most patients with NF1 believe that there is no significant progressive change in NF1-related clinical manifestations after Covid-19 infection and vaccination.Conclusion:Currently,some NF1 patients appear to be worried about the evolution of their disease after Covid-19 infection in the face of large fluctuations in the pandemic situation,and some patients hesitate to receive the vaccine due to their special disease condition.Thus,clinical trials should be conducted to develop a refined pandemic response and vaccination program for this special group.Lingling Ge Yihui Gu Wei Wang Chengjiang Wei Zhichao Wang Qingfeng Li 2023Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2023,5,1:0
