1Expression of VEGFR2 and NRP-1 in non-small cell lung cancer and their clinical significance显示文摘Objective: Vascular-targeted therapy is gradually becoming more appealing for patients with lung cancer. It is unclear whether vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2) and neuropilin-1(NRP-1) can be biomarkers for clinical treatment. We aimed to investigate the expression levels of VEGFR2 and NRP-1 in human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and their clinical significance by observing patient prognosis. Methods: VEGFR2 and NRP-1 were assessed by immunohistochemistry(IHC) in 40 patients with NSCLC and in 10 patients with benign lesions of lung; kinase insert domain receptor(KDR) and NRP-1 copy number gain(CNG) was assessed by fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH). The distributions of overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared between groups by log-rank test.Results: Rates of positive immunostaining for VEGFR2 and NRP-1 were 58% and 55%, respectively. KDR and NRP-1 CNG(+) were detected in 32.5% and 30% of tumors, respectively. Levels of both VEGFR2 and NRP-1 in lung tumors were significantly different than in the control tissue(χ2=11.22, P=0.001; χ2=9.82, P=0.001, respectively); similar results were obtained using CNGs(χ2=4.39, P=0.036; χ2=3.95, P=0.046, respectively). Statistically significant correlations were observed with histological grade, clinical TNM stage and the lymph node status(P<0.05), but not age, gender or pathology type(P>0.05). VEGFR2 showed a strong correlation with NRP-1(Rs=0.68, P=0.00); similar results were observed with KDR and NRP-1 CNG(Rs=0.32, P=0.04). Significant differences in OS and PFS were observed between the groups with higher VEGFR2 and NRP-1 and those with lower expression(P<0.05). Conclusions: According to these data, VEGFR2 and NRP-1 are highly expressed in NSCLC. We can conclude that they play a key role in NSCLC occurrence, development and metastasis and are associated with patient prognosis(P<0.05 for OS and PFS). 2Genetic contribution of foreign germplasm to elite Chinese soybean (Glycine max) cultivars revealed by SSR markers显示文摘Simple sequence repeats (SSR) marker analysis, combined with pedigree analysis, was car- ried out to trace the genetic constitutes of Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25 in assessing the contribution of for- eign germplasm to those elite cultivars. The overall goal is to accumulate information for further effective utilization of foreign germplasm in Chinese soybean breeding programs. SSR clustering results indicated that the genetic base of elite Chinese soybean culti- vars, including Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25, were broadened and enhanced via introduction of Amsoy from the U.S. and Shishengchangye from Japan. The pedigree analysis showed a very high coefficient of parentage between Shishengchangye and Hefeng 25, between Shishengchangye and Suinong 14, and between Amsoy and Suinong 14. The genetic simi- larity between Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25 was 60.58%. Among 20 linkage groups, more genomic regions were transferred from Hefeng 25 to Suinong 14 in linkage group (LG) I, L and C2 than other LGs. Among the unique alleles of foreign parents, five specific loci in Amsoy were transferred to Suinong 14, and three loci from Shishengchangye to Suinong 14. Some SSR loci were proved to be correlated with phenotypes: two loci for seed size introgressed from Shishengchangye to Suinong 14, and one locus forprotein content from Amsoy to Suinong 14. 3Investigation of Transformation for Ultrahigh Strength Steel Aermet 100显示文摘The heat-stagnation curves of two quenched and cryogenically treated ultrahigh strength AF1410 and Aermet 100 steels during heating and cooling in furnace have been measured. The results showed that the curve displayed an abnormal terrace in the course of heating, and within the temperature range corresponding to the terrace, the formation and growth of both cementite Fe3C and secondary hardening phase M2C in the steel make the carbon content in matrix ob- viously vary. It is in the region of terrace that the optimum combination of tensile strength and fracture toughness is obtained because of secondary hardening. Based on the measured heat-stagnation curve, several transformation points have been determined and the correctness was also verified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). 12Damping control for a target oscillation mode using battery energy storage显示文摘In this paper, a battery energy storage system(BESS) based control method is proposed to improve the damping ratio of a target oscillation mode to a desired level by charging or discharging the installed BESS using local measurements. The expected damping improvement by BESS is derived analytically for both a single-machineinfinite-bus system and a multi-machine system. This BESS-based approach is tested on a four-generator, twoarea power system. Effects of the power converter limit,response time delay, power system stabilizers and battery state-of-charge on the control performance are also investigated. 13Screening of autoantibodies as biomarkers in the serum of renal cancer patients based on human proteome microarray显示文摘The autoantibody in patients’serum can act as a biomarker for diagnosing cancer,and the differences in autoantibodies are significantly correlated with the changes in their target proteins.In this study,16 renal cancer(RC)patients were assigned to the disease group,and 16 healthy people were assigned to the healthy control(HC)group.The human proteome microarray consisting of>19,500 proteins was used to examine the differences in IgG and IgM autoantibodies in sera between RC and HC.The comparative analysis of the microarray results shows that 101 types of IgG and 25 types of IgM autoantibodies are significantly higher in RC than in HC.Highly responsive autoantibodies can be candidate biomarkers(e.g.,anti-KCNAB2 IgG and anti-RCN1 IgM).Extensive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was performed to screen sera in 72 RC patients and 66 healthy volunteers to verify the effectiveness of the new autoantibodies.The AUCs of anti-KCNAB2 IgG and anti-GAPDH IgG were 0.833 and 0.753,respectively.KCNAB2 achieves high protein expression,and its high mRNA level is confirmed to be an unfavorable prognostic marker in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)tissues.This study suggests that the highthroughput human proteome microarray can effectively screen autoantibodies in serum as candidate biomarkers,and their corresponding target proteins can lay a basis for the in-depth investigation into renal cancer.Yangyang Sun Chengxi Liu Huidong Zhong Chenguang Wang Haibo Xu Wei Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,12:0

16High-density triple-phase contact points for enhanced photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction to methanol显示文摘The efficiency of photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reaction(PCRR)is restricted by the low solubility and mobility of CO_(2) in water,poor CO_(2) adsorption capacity of catalyst,and competition with hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Recently,hydrophobic modification of the catalyst surface has been proposed as a potential solution to induce the formation of triple-phase contact points(TPCPs)of CO_(2)(gas phase),H_(2) O(liquid phase),and catalysts(solid phase)near the surface of the catalyst,enabling direct delivery of highly concentrated CO_(2) molecules to the active reaction sites,resulting in higher CO_(2) and lower H+surface concentrations.The TPCPs thus act as the ideal reaction points with enhanced PCRR and suppressed HER.However,the initial synthesis of triple-phase photocatalysts tends to possess a lower bulk density of TPCPs due to the simple structure leading to limited active points and CO_(2) adsorption sites.Here,based on constructing a hydrophobic hierarchical porous TiO_(2)(o-HPT)with interconnected macropores and mesopores structure,we have significantly increased the density of TPCPs in a unit volume of the photocatalyst.Compared with hydrophobic macroporous TiO_(2)(o-MacPT)or mesoporous TiO_(2)(o-MesPT),the o-HPT with increased TPCP density leads to enhanced photoactivity,enabling a high methanol production rate with 1111.5μmol g^(−1) h^(−1) from PCRR.These results emphasize the significance of high-density TPCPs design and propose a potential path for developing efficient PCRR systems.Hanwen Jian Kaiming Deng Tongyu Wang Chengxi Huang Fang Wu Hailing Huo Bo Ouyang Xuan Liu Jingjing Ma Erjun Kan Ang Li 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,2:0
