1ACCELERATED LIFE TEST STUDIES OF NEW COATED DISPENSER CATHODES显示文摘The life of impregnated Ba-W cathodes with a new construction have been evaluated using an accelerated life test at three different temperatures (1170℃,1130℃,1090℃) and constant current density (2A/cm^2).According to the relationship of life with operating temperatures,an accelerated equation has been set up.The cathode life at normal operating temperature is deducted based on the accelerated equation.The results show that life of the novel cathode exceeds 190,000 hour at a current density of 2A/cm^2.Zhang Mingchen Zhang Honglai Liu Pukun Su Xiaobao Li Yutao 2007Journal of Electronics(China)2007,24,5:2

3DEVELOPMENT OF 50MW S-BAND KLYSTRON显示文摘This letter reports the development of a 50MW S-band klystron in the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS). It adopted a structure of six-cavity and single output window. 4Effect of Longitudinal Momentum Spread in Ion-Ripple Laser显示文摘Using kinetic coupling mode theory of three waves,the effect of longitudinal momentum spread in ion-ripple laser(IRL),which is an advanced new scheme to generate tunable-coherent radiation with frequency ranging from microwaves to x-rays,is investigated.For a Gaussian distribution in beam longitudinal momentum,the results show that the growth rate of IRL falls off rapidly with increasing momentum spread,and the momentum spread causes linear damping of beam space-charge wave,weakening the beam-radiation mode coupling and lowering the output radiation frequency apart from broadening the radiation spectrum.The dispersion relation and phase matching conditions are also obtained.LIU Pukun QIAN Shangjie TANG Changjian LIU Shenggang 1994Chinese Physics Letters1994,11,3:0
5IMPROVEMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DISPENSER CATHODE WITH Re AS A MIDDLE LAYER显示文摘A new type of dispenser cathode with dual-layer (Os-W/Re) is developed. The cathode coated with Os-W/Re shows better emission performance than the cathode coated with Os-W alloy. X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) spectra demonstrate that ternary alloy coating (Os-W-Re) formed on the surface of the cathode with dual-layer (Os-W/Re) after full activation is the major reason why it has better emission than the cathode with Os-W alloy. The surface of each variety of the cathode is characterized with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) before and after activation: the emitting surface of the cathode with Os-W alloy after ageing appeared non-adherence (flaking) in localized areas, which is one of the reasons for non-uniform emission. However, the surface of the cathode with dual-layer (Os-W/Re) does not present film peeling under the same conditions. 7PHASE-LOCKING OF HIGH POWER GYROTRON OSCILLATOR显示文摘The phase-locking process is studied for high-power gyrotron oscillator driven by an external signal. The phase-locking nonlinear differential equations are derived, and the condition of phase-locking is shown and analyzed. The phase-locking signal can be introduced after gyrotron oscillates into saturation or before it. Two different ways of inputting signal make markable influence on the phase-locking process, this phenomenon is discussed. 8DESIGN OF BEAM-WAVE INTERACTION BASED ON HIGH EFFICIENCY OF A HIGH-POWER BROADBAND KLYSTRON显示文摘The paper mainly presents the design of beam-wave interaction of a C-band high-peakpower high-efficiency broadband klystron.The beam-wave interaction section is designed based on considerations of efficiency and bandwidth synthetically.As a part of beam-wave interaction section,buncher section is simulated by Particle-In-Cell(PIC) code to observe the bunching process of electron beam to achieve high conversion efficiency of electron beam and RF field.When it comes to the other part,output circuit is designed as a three-section filter by an output cavity loaded with Chebyshev filter,and the cold test results are given.The beam-wave interaction is simulated by EGUN code and Arsenal-MSU code respectively.The simulated results indicated that,the existence of power dips in the operating bandwidth is verified by Arsenal-MSU code,comparing proper results by EGUN code.Then,the method that design parameters are not adjusted except parameters of buncher cavities to remove potential power dips is described.What is more,the simulated results of electron optics system are given by EGUN code and Arsenal-MSU code respectively.The further hot test results of klystron prove that the whole design of beam-wave interaction is effective.Qu Zhaowei Zhang Zhaochuan Liu Pukun Zhang Rui Fan Junjie 2014Journal of Electronics(China)2014,31,2:0
