1Novel Insights into Energy Storage Mechanism of Aqueous Rechargeable Zn/MnO2 Batteries with Participation of Mn2+显示文摘Aqueous rechargeable Zn/MnO2 zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are reviving recently due to their low cost,non-toxicity,and natural abundance.However,their energy storage mechanism remains controversial due to their complicated electrochemical reactions.Meanwhile,to achieve satisfactory cyclic stability and rate performance of the Zn/MnO2 ZIBs,Mn2+ is introduced in the electrolyte(e.g.,ZnSO4 solution),which leads to more complicated reactions inside the ZIBs systems.Herein,based on comprehensive analysis methods including electrochemical analysis and Pourbaix diagram,we provide novel insights into the energy storage mechanism of Zn/MnO2 batteries in the presence of Mn2+.A complex series of electrochemical reactions with the coparticipation of Zn2+,H+,Mn2+,SO42-,and OH-were revealed.During the first discharge process,co-insertion of Zn2+ and H+ promotes the transformation of MnO2 into ZnxMnO4,MnOOH,and Mn2O3,accompanying with increased electrolyte pH and the formation of ZnSO4·3 Zn(OH)2-5 H2O.During the subsequent charge process,ZnxMnO4,MnOOH,and Mn2O3 revert to a-MnO2 with the extraction of Zn2+ and H+,while ZnSO4·3Zn(OH)2·5H2O reacts with Mn2+ to form ZnMn3O7·3 H2O.In the following charge/discharge processes,besides aforementioned electrochemical reactions,Zn2+ reversibly insert into/extract from α-MnO2,ZnxMnO4,and ZnMn3O7·3H2O hosts;ZnSO4·3Zn(OH)2·5 H2O,Zn2Mn3O8,and ZnMn2O4 convert mutually with the participation of Mn2+.This work is believed to provide theoretical guidance for further research on high-performance ZIBs.Yongfeng Huang Jian Mou Wenbao Liu Xianli Wang Liubing Dong Feiyu Kang Chengjun Xu 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,3:11
2Effect of butanol on flotation separation of quartz from hematite with N-dodecyl ethylenediamine显示文摘In order to investigate the effect of butanol on quartz flotation when N-dodecyl ethylenediamine(ND)was used as collector, single mineral flotation and artificial mixed mineral(hematite and quartz were mixed at a mass ratio of 3:2) separation were conducted in the laboratory. Experimental results indicated that addition of butanol could improve the collecting performance of ND on quartz and enhance the floatability of quartz. Best flotation recovery of quartz was obtained when butanol was mixed with ND at a mass ratio of 1:1. Moreover, the molecular structure of alcohols had a significant effect on mineral recovery. Best separation efficiency could be obtained when tert-butanol was added as it had the largest cross-sectional area. Zeta potential measurements indicated that alcohols could strengthen electrostatic adsorption between quartz and collector. 3β-MnO_(2) with proton conversion mechanism in rechargeable zinc ion battery显示文摘Rechargeable aqueous zinc ion battery(RAZIB)is a promising energy storage system due to its high safety,and high capacity.Among them,manganese oxides with low cost and low toxicity have drawn much attention.However,the under-debate proton reaction mechanism and unsatisfactory electrochemical performance limit their applications.Nanorod b-MnO_(2) synthesized by hydrothermal method is used to investigate the reaction mechanism.As cathode materials for RAZIB,the Zn//b-MnO_(2) delivers 355 mA h g^(-1)(based on cathode mass)at0.1 A g^(-1),and retain 110 mA h g^(-1) after 1000 cycles at 0.2 A g^(-1).Different from conventional zinc ion insertion/extraction mechanism,the proton conversion and Mn ion dissolution/deposition mechanism of b-MnO_(2) is proposed by analyzing the evolution of phase,structure,morphology,and element of b-MnO_(2) electrode,the pH change of electrolyte and the determination of intermediate phase MnO OH.Zinc ion,as a kind of Lewis acid,also provides protons through the formation of ZHS in the proton reaction process.This study of reaction mechanism provides a new perspective for the development of Zn//MnO_(2) battery chemistry.Wenbao Liu Xiaoyu Zhang Yongfeng Huang Baozheng Jiang Ziwen Chang Chengjun Xu Feiyu Kang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:6

5High-Performance Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries Realized by MOF Materials显示文摘Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIB s) have been gaining increasing interest for large-scale energy storage applications due to their high safety,good rate capability,and low cost.However,the further development of ZIB s is impeded by two main challenges:Currently reported cathode materials usually suffer from rapid capacity fading or high toxicity,and meanwhile,unstable zinc stripping/plating on Zn anode seriously shortens the cycling life of ZIBs.In this paper,metal-organic framework(MOF) materials are proposed to simultaneously address these issues and realize high-performance ZIB s with Mn(BTC) MOF cathodes and ZIF-8-coated Zn(ZIF-8@Zn) anodes.Various MOF materials were synthesized,and Mn(BTC) MOF was found to exhibit the best Zn^2+-storage ability with a capacity of 112 mAh g^-1.Zn^2+ storage mechanism of the Mn(BTC) was carefully studied.Besides,ZIF-8@Zn anodes were prepared by coating ZIF-8 MOF material on Zn foils.Unique porous structure of the ZIF-8 coating guided uniform Zn stripping/plating on the surface of Zn anodes.As a result,the ZIF-8@Zn anodes exhibited stable Zn stripping/plating behaviors,with 8 times longer cycle life than bare Zn foils.Based on the above,high-performance aqueous ZIBs were constructed using the Mn(BTC) cathodes and the ZIF-8@Zn anodes,which displayed an excellent long-cycling stability without obvious capacity fading after 900 charge/discharge cycles.This work provides a new opportunity for high-performance energy storage system.Xuechao Pu Baozheng Jiang Xianli Wang Wenbao Liu Liubing Dong Feiyu Kang Chengjun Xu 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:5
6Fluid Evolution and Ore-forming Processes of the Jiama Cu Deposit, Tibet: Evidence from Fluid Inclusions显示文摘The Jiama deposit is a large copper deposit in Tibet. Mineralization occurs in three different host rocks: skarn, hornfels and porphyry. A detailed fluid inclusion study was conducted for veins in the different host rocks to investigate the relationship between fluid evolution and ore-forming processes. Based on examination of cores from 36 drill holes, three types of veins(A, B and D) were identified in the porphyries, four types(Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ andⅣ) in the skarn, and three(a, b and c) in the hornfels. The crosscutting relationships of the veins and that of the host rocks suggest two hydrothermal stages, one early and one late stage. Fluid inclusions indicate that the Jiama hydrothermal fluid system underwent at least two episodes of fluid boiling. The first boiling event occurred during the early hydrothermal stage, as recorded by fluid inclusions hosted in type A veins in the porphyries, type a veins in the hornfels, and wollastonite in the skarns. This fluid boiling event was associated with relatively weak mineralization. The second boiling event occurred in the late hydrothermal stage, as determined from fluid inclusions hosted in type B and D veins in the porphyries, type Ⅰ to Ⅳ veins in the skarns, and type b and c veins in the hornfels. This late boiling event, together with mixing with meteoric water, was responsible for more than 90% of the metal accumulation in the deposit. The first boiling only occurred in the central part of the deposit and the second boiling event took place across an entire interlayered structural zone between hornfels and marble. 8A cost-effective approach to recycle serpentine tailings:Destruction of stable layered structure and solvent displacement crystallization显示文摘In this work,the stable layer structure of serpentine,which seriously restricts the extraction of magnesium,was broken down,and a nearly 94%leaching efficiency of Mg was obtained by adding 5%fluorite powder.Compared with the system without fluorite,the Mg leaching efficiency increased by 36.42%.This result was achieved because the complexation of fluorinion(F)with Si in serpentine promoted a distorted tetrahedral orientation,which led to a loose crystal structure of serpentine and contributed to exposing more Mg for a remarkable increase in Mg recovery.It is suggested that fluorite powder could replace expensive assisted reagents in the leaching process,which would markedly decreased the cost.Moreover,an energy-efficient‘‘solvent displacement crystallization”(SDC)method was employed to efficiently recover magnesium(99.04%)from pregnant solutions.At the same time,the reuse of fluorinecontaining solutions was explored.Wengang Liu Xiangyu Peng Wenbao Liu Naixu Zhang Xinyang Wang 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,3:1

12Influence of soil texture on the process of subsurface drainage in saturated-unsaturated zones显示文摘This study addressed the problem of low drainage efficiency or even no drainage in subsurface drainage systems buried in saturated-unsaturated zones above the water table.An indoor experiment on infiltration under ponded conditions in a homogeneous soil column was performed to study the effects of soil texture on the soil wetting front morphology,soil infiltration rate,drainage efficiency of the subsurface drainage pipe,vertical distribution of soil water content and salinity along the soil column.The results showed that the drainage process of subsurface drainage pipes above the water table was quite different from that of subsurface drainage pipes below the water table.When a subsurface drainage pipe was located in sandy soil,the migration of soil water toward the bottom of the drainage pipe was significant,and the water could not be discharged into the pipe.When the drainage pipe was located in loamy clay,the movement of soil water towards the bottom of the pipe was retarded,and the water could be discharged into the pipe.During the drainage process,the drainage of the pipe can produce nonequilibrium flow in the soil,and the continuity of the nonequilibrium flow can be affected by the hydraulic conductivity of the soil above the pipe,which can result in discontinuous drainage and low drainage efficiency.The water holding capacity,permeability and aeration of soil are important factors that affect the drainage under unsaturated conditions.Eliminating the hysteresis effect and capillary barrier around the drainage pipe and adjusting water holding capacity,the permeability and aeration of soil structure through a new subsurface drainage structure may enhance the drainage efficiency of subsurface drainage pipes in saturated-unsaturated zones.Yufang Li Mingsi Li Hongguang Liu Wenbao Qin 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,1:1
13Ranking Agricultural Sub-basins for Environmental Protection显示文摘Reconstructing long-term vegetation buffers along streams in agricultural landscapes has become a common environmental restoration strategy for improving water quality and wildlife habitat connectivity.This article developed a linear weighted model to rank the priority of agricultural sub-basins for the establishment of vegetative buffers.The method was applied to an agricultural watershed of 146 km2 in Ontario,Canada.The watershed was divided into 11 sub-basins as basic decision units.In each subbasin,four stream buffer schemes with widths of 5,10,15 and 20m were generated.For each buffer,three benefit-cost attributes of reconstructing vegetation cover were estimated,which include acreage per dollar,sediment abatement per dollar and habitat benefit per dollar.These attributes were first normalized using a linear normalization approach to eliminate the effects across different units.The normalized attributes were then integrated using a simple additive weighting method to rank the 11 sub-basins for prioritizing spatial restoration action.A sensitivity analysis was also conducted to observe the impact of a change in attribute weights on the management decisions.The results suggest that vegetation buffers reconstructed for achieving the water quality goal are not effective in improving habitat connectivity and vice versa.Liu Wenbao Gu Fengxia 2010Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2010,8,1:1

17Few-layer Ti3C2Tx MXene delaminated via flash freezing for high-rate electrochemical capacitive energy storage显示文摘Few-layer Ti3C2Tx MXene is synthesized from multi-layered Ti3C2Tx via a flash freezing-assisted delamination process.During the flash freezing process,the water molecules in the interlayers of multi-layered MXene are induced to rearrange and produce volume expansion,thus notably expand the MXenes’interlayer distance to form few-layer MXene.The synthesized few-layer Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets display a very small thickness(less than 5 Ti3C2 atom-layers)and expanded interlayer spacing.Consequently,the few-layer Ti3C2Tx exhibits enhanced capacitance(255 F g^-1 vs.177 F g^-1 for the multi-layered Ti3C2Tx)and significantly optimized rate capability(150 F g^-1 at 200 mV s^-1 vs.25 F g^-1 for the multi-layered Ti3C2Tx),because redox-active sites in the few-layer MXene are easily accessible to electrolyte ions.Moreover,an asymmetric supercapacitor is constructed using the few-layer Ti3C2Tx negative electrode and an activated carbon fiber positive electrode.The asymmetric supercapacitor presents a high energy density of 17.9 Wh kg^-1 and a high power density of 14 kW kg^-1,which is inseparable from its wide voltage window of 1.4 V and the good rate performance of the few-layer Ti3C2Tx MXene electrode.Overall,the flash freezing-assist delamination provides an effective and environmental-friendly strategy to synthesize few-layer MXene materials for high-rate electrochemical energy storage.Xianli Wang Liubing Dong Wenbao Liu Yongfeng Huang Xuechao Pu Jinjie Wang Feiyu Kang Jia Lia Chengjun Xu 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9:1
18Electrochemically induced phase transition in a nanoflower vanadium tetrasulfide cathode for high-performance zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are promising contenders for large-scale energy storage with the merits of their low cost,high safety,environmental friendliness,and competitive gravimetric energy density.Nevertheless,suitable cathode materials with long cycle life and adequate capacity are still rare.Herein,we report a nanoflower vanadium tetrasulfide/carbon nanotubes (VS_(4)/CNTs) cathode with high Znstorage performance.We propose a phase transition reaction mechanism from VS_(4)to zinc pyrovanadate in the initial cycles and a reversible intercalation mechanism for Zn^(2+) in zinc pyrovanadate during subsequent cycles.As a result,the cathode delivers a high discharge capacity of 265 mAh g^(-1)at 0.25 A g^(-1)and 182 m Ah g^(-1)at 7 A g^(-1).In addition,the cathode exhibits a long-term cyclability with 93%capacity retention over 1200 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).VS_(4)/CNTs with superior electrochemical performance is a hopeful cathode material in AZIBs.Shizhe Gao Peng Ju Ziquan Liu Lei Zhai Wenbao Liu Xiaoyu Zhang Yanli Zhou Caifu Dong Fuyi Jiang Jianchao Sun 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,6:1
