1Role of silicon in steels on galvanized coatings显示文摘In this article,five kinds of silicon-containing steel sheets have been electrodeposited,and then immersed in a pure molten zinc bath at 450 °C for various periods of time.The results by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) show that the coating of the sam-ple(0.09 wt pct Si) with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment eliminates the reactive zones which are found in the coating without iron-electrodeposited pretreatment.The galvanized sample(0.28 wt pct Si) with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment exhibits a compact and coherent coating.The coating of the sample(0.37 wt pct Si) with the iron-electrodeposited pretreatment experiences a transition from a compact and coherent coating to a reactive one.The energy dispersive spectrum(EDS) results reveal that for the galvanized samples with iron-electrodeposited pretreatment,ex-cessive silicon accumulates on the surface of the substrate due to the low solubility of silicon in the Γ,after the iron layer is depleted by the increasing growth of the Fe-Zn intermetallics.With the movement of the substrate/Γ interface toward the substrate,silicon-enriched α-Fe peels off from the substrate and breaks into the particles.The particles move toward the δ layer through the Γ layer because silicon-enriched α-Fe cannot be absorbed in the Γ layer.When the particles reach the δ/Γ interface,they are dissolved in the δ layer,making the Γ layer thin or even vanish.Chunshan CHE Jintang LU Gang KONG Qiaoyu XU 2009Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2009,22,2:3
2Sorghum Insect Problems and Management显示文摘Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) has high levels of starch,sugar,and fiber and is one of the most important energy crops in the world.Insect damage is one of the challenges that impacts sorghum biomass production.There are at least 150 insect species that can infest sorghum varieties worldwide.These insects can complete several generations within a growing season,they target various parts of sorghum plants at developmental stages,and they cause significant biomass losses.Genetic research has revealed the existence of resistant genetics in sorghum and insect tolerant sorghum varieties have been identified.Various control methods have been developed,yet more effective management is needed for increasing sorghum biomass production.Although there are no transgenic sorghum products on the market yet,biotechnology has been recognized as an important tool for controlling insect pests and increasing sorghum production.Chunshan Guo Wei Cui Xue Feng Jianzhou Zhao Guihua Lu 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,3:3
3A resource recycling technique of hydrogen production from the catalytic degradation of organics in wastewater显示文摘A resource recycling technique of hydrogen production from the catalytic degradation of organics in wastewater by aqueous phase reforming (APR) has been proposed. It is worthy of noting that this technique may be a potential way for the purification of refractory and highly toxic organics in water for hydrogen production. Hazardous organics (such as phenol, aniline, nitrobenzene, tetrahydrofuran (THF), toluene, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and cyclohexanol) in water could be completely de-graded into H2 and CO2 with high selectivity over Raney Ni, and Sn-modified Raney Ni (Sn-Raney-Ni) or Pd/C catalyst under mild conditions. The experimental results operated in tubular and autoclave reactors, indicated that the degradation degree of organics and H2 selectivity could reach 100% under the optimal reaction conditions.
