1Long-and short-chain AHLs affect AOA and AOB microbial community composition and ammonia oxidation rate in activated sludge显示文摘Quorum sensing(QS)regulation of the composition of ammonia-oxidising archaea(AOA)and ammonia-oxidising bacteria(AOB)communities and functions in wastewater treatment was investigated.Specifically,we explored the role of N-acyl-L-homoserine lactones(AHLs)in microbial community dynamics in activated sludge.On average,the specific ammoniaoxidising-rate increased from 1.6 to 2.8 mg NH_4^+-N/g MLSS/hr after treatment with long-chain AHLs for 16 days,and the addition of AHLs to sludge resulted in an increased number of AOA/AOB amoA genes.Significant differences were observed in the AOA communities of control and AHL-treated cultures,but not the AOB community.Furthermore,the dominant functional AOA strains of the Crenarchaeota altered their ecological niche in response to AHL addition.These results provide evidence that AHLs play an important role in mediating AOA/AOB microbial community parameters and demonstrate the potential for application of QS to the regulation of nitrogen compound metabolism in wastewater treatment.Jie Gao Yu Duan Ying Liu Xuliang Zhuang Yichen Liu Zhihui Bai Wenlin Ma Guoqiang Zhuang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,4:11
2Performance improvement approaches for optical fiber SPR sensors and their sensing applications显示文摘Optical fiber surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensors point toward promising application potential in the fields of biomarker detection,food allergen screening,and environmental monitoring due to their unique advantages.This review outlines approaches in improving the fiber SPR sensing performance,e.g.,sensitivity,detection accuracy,reliability,cross-sensitivity,selectivity,convenience and efficiency,and corresponding sensing applications.The sensing principles of SPR sensors,especially the performance indicators and their influencing factors,have been introduced.Current technologies for improving the fiber SPR performance and their application scenarios are then reviewed from the aspects of fiber substrate,intrinsic layer(metal layer),and surface nanomaterial modification.Reasonable design of the substrate can strengthen the evanescent electromagnetic field and realize the multi-parameter sensing,and can introduce the in situ sensing self-compensation,which allows corrections for errors induced by temperature fluctuation,non-specific binding,and external disturbances.The change of the intrinsic layer can adjust the column number,the penetration depth,and the propagation distance of surface plasmon polaritons.This can thereby promote the capability of sensors to detect the large-size analytes and can reduce the full width at half-maximum of SPR curves.The modification of various-dimensionality nanomaterials on the sensor surfaces can heighten the overlap integral of the electromagnetic field intensity in the analyte region and can strengthen interactions between plasmons and excitons as well as interactions between analyte molecules and metal surfaces.Moreover,future directions of fiber SPR sensors are prospected based on the important and challenging problems in the development of fiber SPR sensors.JIANYING JING KUN LIU JUNFENG JIANG TIANHUA XU SHUANG WANG JINYING MA ZHAO ZHANG WENLIN ZHANG TIEGEN LIU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:3

4Current evidence and challenges of systematic therapies for adult recurrent glioblastoma: Results from clinical trials显示文摘Recurrence is a major concern for adult patients with glioblastomas(GBMs), and the prognosis remains poor.Although several therapies have been assessed, most of them have not achieved satisfactory results. Therefore, there is currently no standard treatment for adult recurrent GBM(r GBM). Here, we review the results of clinical trials for the systematic therapy of r GBM. Regorafenib, rindopepimut and neoadjuvant programmed death 1(PD-1)inhibitors are promising agents for r GBM, while regorafenib is effective in both O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase(MGMT) promoter methylated and unmethylated patients. Temozolomide rechallenge and alkylating agents combined with bevacizumab can be useful for patients with MGMT methylation, and patients with isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH) mutations or second recurrence can benefit from vocimagene amiretrorepvec(Toca511). Some phase I trials on targeted therapy and immunotherapy have shown positive results, and results from further studies are expected. 9Exploring HONO formation and its role in driving secondary pollutants formation during winter in the North China Plain显示文摘Daytime HONO photolysis is an important source of atmospheric hydroxyl radicals(OH).Knowledge of HONO formation chemistry under typical haze conditions,however,is still limited.In the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain in 2018,we investigated the wintertime HONO formation and its atmospheric implications at a rural site Gucheng.Three different episodes based on atmospheric aerosol loading levels were classified:clean periods(CPs),moderately polluted periods(MPPs)and severely polluted periods(SPPs).Correlation analysis revealed that HONO formation via heteroge.neous conversion of NO_(2)was more efficient on aerosol surfaces than on ground,highlighting the important role of aerosols in promoting HONO formation.Daytime HONO budget analysis indicated a large missing source(with an average production rate of 0.66±0.26,0.97±0.47 and 1.45±0.55 ppbV/hr for CPs,MPPs and SPPs,respectively),which strongly correlated with photo-enhanced reactions(NO_(2)heterogeneous reaction and particulate nitrate photolysis).Average OH formation derived from HONO photolysis reached up to(0.92±0.71),(1.75±1.26)and(1.82±1.47)ppbV/hr in CPs,MPPs and SPPs respectively,much higher than that from O3 photolysis(i.e.,(0.004±0.004),(0.006±0.007)and(0.0035±0.0034)ppbV/hr).Such high OH production rates could markedly regulate the atmospheric oxidation capacity and hence promote the formation of secondary aerosols and pollutants.Shaobin Zhang Guo Li Nan Ma Yao He Shaowen Zhu Xihao Pan Wenlin Dong Yanyan Zhang Qingwei Luo Jeannine Ditas Uwe Kuhn Yuxuan Zhang Bin Yuan Zelong Wang Peng Cheng Juan Hong Jiangchuan Tao Wanyun Xu Ye Kuang Qiaoqiao Wang Yele Sun Guangsheng Zhou Yafang Cheng Hang Su 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,10:0

11Marxist Philosophy vs.International Relations Research in China显示文摘This article argues for the confirmation of Marxist philosophy as the ideology that guides international relations(IR)studies in China. Justification comes through the following points.According to Marxism, correct theoretical guidance serves as the prerequisite for correct practice. Marxist philosophy embodies,by nature,righteousness,in opposition to political hegemony.Accordingly,practice under its guidance represents fruitful revolutionary realism.Finally,advanced studies of international relations in this country cannot be separated from philosophical thinking. 12Characterization of DNA polymerase δ from deep-sea hydrothermal vent shrimp Rimicaris exoculata显示文摘DNA polymerase δ(Polδ)plays a crucial and versatile role in DNA replication and DNA repair processes.Vent shrimp Rimicaris exoculata is the primary megafaunal community living in hydrothermal vents.In this study,the Polδfrom shrimp Rimicaris exoculata was cloned,expressed and characterized.The results showed that the Polδcatalytic subunit(POLD1),852 amino acids in length,shared high homology with crayfish Procambarus clarkii and shrimp Oratosquilla oratoria.The recombinant POLD1 expressed in Escherichia coli showed that the enzyme was active in a range of 20℃ to 40℃ with an optimum temperature at 25℃ and in a wide range of p H with an optimum at pH 6.0.The activities of POLD1 were significantly enhanced in the presence of Triton-X 100,Tween 20 and Mn^(2+).The K_(m)(dNTP)value of POLD1 was 4.7μmol/L.The present study would be helpful to reveal the characterization of Polδof deep-sea vent animals.Wenlin Wu Hongyun Li Tiantian Ma Xiaobo Zhang 2021Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,8:0
13Engineering trienzyme cascade-triggered fluorescent immunosensor platform by sequentially integrating alkaline phosphatase, tyrosinase and horseradish peroxidase显示文摘Mulit-enzyme cascades are a major type of chemical transformations and play a crucial role in biological signal transduction and metabolism. Herein, a trienzyme cascade-triggered fluorescent immunosensor platform was constructed by sequentially integrating alkaline phosphatase(ALP), tyrosinase(TYR)and horseradish peroxidase(HRP). The proposed platform was based on HRP-induced a rapid in situ fluorogenic reaction between dopamine(DA) and 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene(DHA) to produce a strong yellow azamonardine fluorescent compound(AFC). The obtained AFC was clearly characterized by highresolution mass spectrum,1H NMR,^(13)C NMR and theoretical calculations. The integration of the twoenzyme system(TYR and HRP) or three-enzyme system(ALP, TYR and HRP) led to a maximum of 400.0-fold and 250.0-fold fluorescence enhancements, respectively. Using cardiac troponin I(c Tn I) as the model antigen, a trienzyme cascade-triggered fluorescent immunosensor platform was developed for quantitative detecting c Tn I in a wide linear range from 2 ng/m L to 150 ng/m L with a detection limit of 0.67ng/m L. In addition, the proposed platform was successfully applied in detection of c Tn I in serum of clinical patients.
