2Activity of the Lenglongling fault system and seismotectonics of the 2016 MS6.4 Menyuan earthquake显示文摘The MS6.4 Menyuan earthquake occurred on the northern side of the Lenglongling fault(LLLF) in the mid-western of the Qilian-Haiyuan fault zone on January 21, 2016. The earthquake epicenter was distant from the Minle-Damaying and Huangcheng-Shuangta faults, eastern of the Northern Qilian Shan fault zone. A near northwest-striking rupture plane intersects the two faults at a certain angle. The focal mechanism solution shows that this was a thrust-type earthquake, slightly different from the strike-slip movement with a thrust component of the LLLF. Field geological mapping, tectonic geomorphology analysis, trench excavation and 14 C dating reveal that(1) the LLLF has been obviously active since the Holocene, and may behave with characteristic slip behavior and produce M_W7.3–7.5 earthquakes;(2) the LLLF appears as a flower structure in terms of structure style, and dips NNE at a steep angle; and(3) the most recent earthquake event occurred after 1815–1065 a BP. An associated fault, the Northern Lenglongling fault(NLLLF), is located at the northwestern end of the LLLF. Consequently, the NLLLF was continually subject to tectonic pushing effects from the left-lateral shear at the end of the LLLF, and, accordingly, it bent and rotated outward tectonically.Subsequently, the fault deviated from the dominant rupture azimuth and activity weakened. In the late Quaternary, it behaved as a thrust fault with no obvious deformation at the surface. This is indicated by the arc shape, with a micro-protrusion northeastward,and no geologic or geomorphic signs of surface rupturing since the late Quaternary. However, such faults could still rupture at depth, producing moderate-strong earthquakes. The geometric and kinematic properties of the NLLLF are in good agreement with the occurrence and kinematic properties of nodal plane 2, and with the distribution characteristics of the aftershocks and seismic intensity. Therefore, the NLLLF is a more suitable seismogenic structure for the MS 6.4 Menyuan earthquake. In addition, the thrust movement of the NLLLF accommodates subsequent movement of the LLLF. 3A novel HfNbTaTiV high-entropy alloy of superior mechanical properties designed on the principle of maximum lattice distortion显示文摘This paper reports a synergistic design of high-performance BCC high-entropy alloy based on the combined consideration of the principles of intrinsic ductility of elements,maximum atomic size difference for solid solution strengthening and the valence electron concentration criterion for ductility.The single-phase BCC HfNbTaTiV alloy thus designed exhibited a high compressive yield strength of 1350 MPa and a high compressive ductility of>45%at the room temperature.This represents a 50%increase in yield strength relative to a HfNbTaTiZr alloy.This is attributed to the maximized solid solution strengthening effect caused by lattice distortion,which is estimated to be 1094 MPa.The alloy was also able to retain 53%of its yield strength and 77%of its ductility at 700℃.These properties are superior to those of most refractory BCC high-entropy alloys reported in the literature.Zibing An Shengcheng Mao Yinong Liu Li Wang Hao Zhou Bin Gan Ze Zhang Xiaodong Han 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,20:9
4Variation of hydrogen level in magnesium alloy melt显示文摘At present there is no commercial instrument available for measurement of hydrogen level in magnesium alloy melt in front of melting furnace. In this paper the equations of solubility of hydrogen in pure magnesium and magnesium alloy have been modified based on thermodynamic analysis. A fast measurement system for hydrogen content in magnesium melt was set up. With this instrument, measurement experiments have been carried out to determine hydrogen level in AZ91 melt. 5Effects of Cinnamon Acid on Respiratory Rate and Its Related Enzymes Activity in Roots of Seedlings of Malus hupehensis Rehd.显示文摘This paper studied the effects of cinnamon acid treatments on the respiratory rate and related enzymes activity in the seedling roots of Malus hupehensis Rehd.It would provide information for understanding the mechanisms of inhibition damage caused by continuous cultivation of apple tree.20 mL of solution containing different concentrations of cinnamon acid was added into container with the tested seedlings.After treatment,the samples were taken periodically and the respiratory rates were measured by OXY-LAB oxygen electrodes under 25°C stable temperature and then the activities of related enzymes were measured.The rates of total respiration and other 2 pathways [tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA) and pentose phosphate pathway (PPP)] appeared initially an increasing treads and late (on the 3rd d) began to decline.However,they again appeared an increase trend at the end period,on the contrast,the respiratory rate of embden-meyer- hot-parnas (EMP) pathway appeared a stead decline tread but it had a recover on the last day.The respiratory rate of total and 3 pathways were decreased under 125 mg kg-1 (soil).The dynamic trends of the enzymes activities of pyrophosphate-dependent phosphofructokinase (PFK),glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PDH) and malate dehydrogenase (MDH) showed similarly.In conclusion,treatments of certain concentration of cinnamon acid would inhibit the respiratory rate and related enzymes activity of roots of M.hupehensis Rehd.And the inhibition degrees were positively related with concentration of cinnamon acid treatments.GAO Xiang-bin,ZHAO Feng-xia,SHEN Xiang,HU Yan-li,HAO Yun-hong,YANG Shu-quan,SU Li-tao and MAO Zhi-quan State Key Laboratory of Crop Biology/College of Horticultural Science and Engineering,Shandong Agricultural University,Tai’an 271018,P.R.China 2010Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,6:9
6Effects of mild hypothermia on the ROS and expression of caspase-3 m RNA and LC3 of hippocampus nerve cells in rats after cardiopulmonary resuscitation显示文摘BACKGROUND: Cardiac arrest(CA) is a common and serious event in emergency medicine. Despite recent improvements in resuscitation techniques, the survival rate of patients with CA is unchanged. The present study was undertaken to observe the effect of mild hypothermia(MH) on the reactive oxygen species(ROS) and the effect of neurological function and related mechanisms.METHODS: Sixty-five healthy male Sprague Dawley(SD) adult rats were randomly(random number) divided into 2 groups: blank control group(n=5) and CPR group(n=60). CA was induced by asphyxia. The surviving rats were randomly(random number) divided into two groups: normothermia CPR group(NT) and hypothermia CPR group(HT). Normothermia of 37 °C was maintained in the NT group after return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC), hypothermal intervention of 32 °C was carried out in the HT group for 4 hours immediately after ROSC. Both the NT and HT groups were then randomly divided into 2 subgroups 12 hours and 24 hours after ROSC(NT-12, NT-24, HT-12, HT-24 subgroups). During observation, the neurological defi cit scores(NDSs) was recorded, then the bilateral hippocampi were obtained from rats' head, and monoplast suspension of fresh hippocampus tissue was made immediately to determine the level of intracellular ROS by flow cytometry. Transmission electron microscope was used to observe the ultramicro changes of cellular nucleus and mitochondria. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to determine the expression of caspase-3 m RNA, and western-blotting(WB) was used to determine the level of LC3 in frozen hippocampus tissue. Measured data were analyzed with paired sample t test and One-Way ANOVA.RESULTS: Of 60 rats with CA, 44(73%) were successfully resuscitated and 33(55%) survived until the end of the experiment. The NDSs of rats in the NT and HT groups were more signifi cantly reduced than those in the BC group(F=8.107, P<0.05), whereas the NDSs of rats in the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups were significantly increased in comparison with those NDSs of rats in the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=9.692, P<0.001; t=14.374, P<0.001). The ROS in hippocampus nerve cells in the NT and HT groups signifi cantly increased compared to the BC group(F=16.824, P<0.05), whereas the ROS in the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups significantly reduced compared with that ROS in the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=9.836, P<0.001; t=7.499, P<0.001). The expression of caspase-3 m RNA in hippocampus nerve cells in the NT and HT groups were signifi cantly increased compared to the BC group(F=24.527, P<0.05), whereas the expression of caspase-3 m RNA in rats of the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups was signifi cantly reduced compared to the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=6.935, P<0.001; t=4.317, P<0.001). The expression of LC3B-II/I in hippocampus nerve cells of rats in the NT and HT groups signifi cantlyincreased compared to the BC group(F=6.584, P<0.05), whereas the expression of LC3B-II/I in rats of the HT-12 and HT-24 subgroups significantly reduced compared to the NT-12 and NT-24 subgroups, respectively(t=10.836, P<0.001; t=2.653, P=0.02). Ultrastructure damage of nucleus and mitochondria in the NT group was more evident than in the BC group, and eumorphism of nucleus and mitochondria were maintained in rats of the HT group compared with the NT group.CONCLUSION: Mild hypothermia lessened the injury of nerve cells and improved the neurological function of rats that survived from cardiac arrest by reducing the ROS production of nerve cells and inhibiting the expression of caspase-3 m RNA and LC3, leading to cellular apoptosis and massive autophagy in rats that survived from cardiac arrest after CPR.Jian Lu Yi Shen Hui-yin Qian Li-jun Liu Bao-chun Zhou Yan Xiao Jin-ning Mao Guo-yin An Ming-zhong Rui Tao Wang Chang-lai Zhu 2014World Journal of Emergency Medicine2014,5,4:9
7Cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication machining: from mechanism to application显示文摘Cutting fluid plays a cooling-lubrication role in the cutting of metal materials.However,the substantial usage of cutting fluid in traditional flood machining seriously pollutes the environment and threatens the health of workers.Environmental machining technologies,such as dry cutting,minimum quantity lubrication(MQL),and cryogenic cooling technology,have been used as substitute for flood machining.However,the insufficient cooling capacity of MQL with normal-temperature compressed gas and the lack of lubricating performance of cryogenic cooling technology limit their industrial application.The technical bottleneck of mechanical-thermal damage of difficult-to-cut materials in aerospace and other fields can be solved by combining cryogenic medium and MQL.The latest progress of cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication(CMQL)technology is reviewed in this paper,and the key scientific issues in the research achievements of CMQL are clarified.First,the application forms and process characteristics of CMQL devices in turning,milling,and grinding are systematically summarized from traditional settings to innovative design.Second,the cooling-lubrication mechanism of CMQL and its influence mechanism on material hardness,cutting force,tool wear,and workpiece surface quality in cutting are extensively revealed.The effects of CMQL are systematically analyzed based on its mechanism and application form.Results show that the application effect of CMQL is better than that of cryogenic technology or MQL alone.Finally,the prospect,which provides basis and support for engineering application and development of CMQL technology,is introduced considering the limitations of CMQL.Mingzheng LIU Changhe LI Yanbin ZHANG Qinglong AN Min YANG Teng GAO Cong MAO Bo LIU Huajun CAO Xuefeng XU Zafar SAID Sujan DEBNATH Muhammad JAMIL Hafz Muhammad ALI Shubham SHARMA 2021Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2021,16,4:8
8INFLUENCE OF STRUCTURE ON HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS OF T SHAPE FISHWAY显示文摘While dams cut off the migratory route of fish, and affect their growth and breeding, fishways are built to restore the connectivity of rivers and facilitate the life cycle of these migratory fish. This paper proposes a new kind of fishway called the 'T shape fishway', and studies it by using both numerical simulations and physical experimental methods with the aim to design a fishway in China for migratory fish with swimming and jumping capability much poorer, such as schizothorax davidi and schizothorax prenanti, as compared with migratory fish in other places of the world, like trout and salmon. It is indicated that the range of velocity in each regular pool of the T shape fishway is from 0.42 m/s to 1.22 m/s when the flow discharge Q is 350 L/s, and there are no large vortex zones found there. 10Degassing effect of ultrasonic vibration in molten melt and semi-solid slurry of Al-Si alloys显示文摘In the process of semi-solid slurry preparation with direct ultrasonic vibration (UV) by dipping the horn into the melt, one of the questions is whether the gas content in the melt would be increased or not by the cavitation effect of ultrasonic vibration. By application of quantitative gas content measurement technique, this paper investigated the effect of the ultrasonic vibration on the gas content of both the melt and the semi-solid slurry of Al-Si alloys, and the variations of the gas contents in two kinds of aluminum alloys, i.e., A356 alloy and Al-20Si-2Cu-1Ni-0.6RE alloy (Al-20Si for short). The results show that ultrasonic vibration has an obvious degassing effect on the molten melt, especially on the semi-solid slurry of Al-Si alloy which is below the liquidus temperature by less than 20 ℃. The ultrasonic degassing efficiency of the A356 alloy decreases with the reduction of the initial gas content in the melt, and it is nearly unchanged for the Al-20Si alloy. The gas content of both alloys decreases when the ultrasonic vibration time is increased. The best vibration time for Al-20Si alloy at the liquid temperature of 710 ℃ and semi-solid temperature of 680 ℃ is 60 s and 90 s, respectively; and the degassing efficiency is 48% and 35%, respectively. 11A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 12A novel approach for one-step forming ε-caprolactam from cyclohexane nitrozation catalyzed by transition metal salt显示文摘The nitrozation reaction of cyclohexane in one-step reaction to form ε-caprolactam has been studied using transition metal salt as catalysts in this work. The results indicated that the catalysts play an especially important role. This method is expected to be a novel way to synthesize other lactam by similar reaction. 15Influence of MnS particles on the behaviors of grain boundary migration in Fe-3%Si alloys显示文摘The precipitation behaviors of MnS particles at 900℃ in a hot deformed Fe-3%Si alloy were observed statistically. The ratio of MnS particles on dislocations and in grain boundaries was calculated based on a model concerning the second phase precipitation in supersaturated solid solution. It was indicated that the precipitation of MnS particles on dislocations prevailed. The coarsening process of MnS particles in grain boundaries determined the boundary mobility during the secondary recrystallization. However, the density difference of precipitated MnS particles inside the grains on both sides of a boundary will determine the migration direction of the boundary as well, besides the grain size effect. It was observed that the densities of MnS particles in two neighboring grains were commonly different, and the boundary tended to move towards the area with lower particle density. 18Effects of Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii extracts on gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptor alpha 1 subunit brain expression during development in a recurrent seizure rat model显示文摘Extracts from Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii (Grassleaf Sweetflag Rhizome,Shichangpu) have been shown to improve learning and memory,reduce anxiety,allay excitement,and suppress seizures.Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii extracts interact with γ-aminobutyric acid and activate the γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor,although few studies have addressed the precise effects of γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor α1 subunit.In the present study,γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor α1 subunit protein expression in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus,and pathological scores of brain injury,were significantly greater following recurrent seizures,but significantly decreased following treatment with Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii extracts.These results indicated that Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii extracts down-regulated γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor α1 subunit protein expression in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus and protected seizure-induced brain injury during development.Liqun Liu Ding'an Mao Keqiang Chi Xingfang Li Tao Bo Jinming Guo Zhuwen Yi 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,6:4

20Hydraulics and swimming behavior of schizothorax prenanti in vertical slot fishways显示文摘This paper presents a novel experiment for the correlation between the hydraulics and the swimming behavior of Schizothorax prenanti,a rare species of fish in southwest China,in passing a vertical slot fishway.With an acoustic Doppler velocimeter,the velocities of a physical model in the equidimension fishway in the Shaping II power station are measured.The hydraulic parameters include the hydraulic head drop,the velocity patterns and the flow rate,and the swimming behavior includes the burst-coast,the sustained swimming and the migratory path,and they are analyzed under the test conditions.The sustained swimming velocity is in the range from 0.65m/s to 1.09m/s.The estimated hydraulic head drop of each pool is calculated and is in the range from 0.08-0.11 m,which means that 2.6% slope is reasonable.For the same slope,the maximum velocity is further reduced from 1.24 m/s to 1.14 m/s by using an L shape baffle structure.The above findings are used as the basis to evaluate the hydraulic performance of the fishways,where the L shape baffle structure is expected to be effective tor creating a preterencial flow for the fish.For the main stream of the pool,an 'Ω' shape flow pattern is more fish-friendly,which can effectively extend the energy dissipation distance and avoid the bursting through a high velocity zone.This paper provides a useful complementary tool for practical designs.Rui-dong An Jia Li Wen-min Yi Xi Mao 2019Journal of Hydrodynamics2019,31,1:4
