Eco-toxicity of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil显示文摘Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) contaminated soil samples were collected from Shengli Oilfield of China. Toxicity analysis was carried out based on earthworm acute toxicity, plant growth experiment and luminescent bacteria test. The soil was contaminated by-petroleum hydrogcarbons with TPH concentration of 10.57%. With lethal and sub-lethal rate as endpoint, earthworm test showed that the LD 50 (lethal dose 50%) values in 4 and 7 days were 1.45% and 1.37% respectively, and the inhibition rate of earthworm body weight increased with higher oil concentration. TPH pollution in the soil inhibited seed germination in both wheat and maize experiment when the concentration of petroleum was higher than 0.1%. The EC 50 (effective concentration 50%) for germination is 3.04% and 2.86% in maize and wheat, respectively. While lower value of EC 50 for root elongation was to be 1.11% and 1.64% in maize and wheat, respectively, suggesting higher sensitivity of root elongation on petroleum contamination in the soil. The EC 50 value in luminescent bacteria test was 0.47% for petroleum in the contaminated soil. From the experiment result, it was concluded that TPH content of 1.5% is considered to be a critical value for plant growth and living of earthworm and 0.5% will affect the activity of luminescent bacteria. | Jingchun Tang Min Wang Fei Wang Qing Sun Qixing Zhou | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,5: | 26
Analysis of the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in the process of moisture exchange across a membrane显示文摘A theoretical study was conducted to investigate the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in the process of moisture exchange across a membrane and a mathematical model describing the heat transfer with consideration of the effect of mass transfer was developed.A dimensionless variable,ψi,which presents the degree to which the mass transfer affects the heat transfer, was proposed through theoretical analysis. With calculating of this dimensionless variable, the heat transfer coupled with mass transfer can be converted into a conventional heat transfer, making the heat transfer calculation simpler and more easily to understand. On the basis of theoretical analysis, the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer were numerically studied. The results show that,in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in the same direction,ψi is greater than unity, and the mass transfer acts to enhance the heat transfer;in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in opposite directions,ψi is less than unity, and the mass transfer works to hinder the heat transfer. When the mass flux is small, the effect of the mass transfer is weak. When the mass flux is large, the heat flux carried by the mass flux has a considerable impact on the heat flux, and ψi,deviates from unity significantly. | HU Teng MIN JingChun SONG YaoZu | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,12: | 8
Thermodynamic analysis of adsorption process at a non-equilibrium steady state显示文摘By using the non-equilibrium thermodynamic approach, the possibility of the existence of a steady state for non-equilibrium adsorption with a temperature difference between body gas and adsorbed gas was confirmed and the steady state was determined. The chemical potential difference between body gas and adsorbed gas was obtained and equations for evaluating the adsorption entropy and the isosteric heat of adsorption were derived. The changes of the adsorption entropy and the isosteric heat of adsorption at the non-equilibrium steady state relative to those at the equilibrium state were calculated and the results were compared with those obtained using the traditional equilibrium thermodynamic method. The comparison suggests that the changes of the adsorption entropy and the isosteric heat of adsorption obtained using the non-equilibrium thermodynamic approach are related with not only temperature but also adsorptive state, while those obtained using the equilibrium thermodynamic method are only a function of temperature. The main reason is that the present study treats the adsorption and gas temperature change as an integrated process and considers their interaction, whereas the equilibrium thermodynamic approach separates the adsorption and gas temperature change as two independent processes and neglects their interaction. | WANG LiNing MIN JingChun | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31: | 8
Analysis of the effects of the heat of sorption on the process of heat transfer in moisture exchange across a membrane显示文摘A theoretical study has been conducted to investigate the effects of mass transfer on heat transfer in moisture exchange across a membrane and a mathematical model describing the heat transfer process with consideration of the heat of sorption was established.A dimensionless variable,Ψ =JLλ /δ(T10-T20),which controls the effect of the heat of sorption on the heat transfer in membrane process, was obtained through theoretical analysis, and the effects of Ψ on the heat transfer process were analyzed. Results showed that in the case that the temperature gradient and mass transfer are in the same direction, the effective heat flux changes the direction at Ψ =1.For Ψ <1,the heat transfers from high to low temperature sides through the membrane, and the total thermal resistance increases with increasing the moisture flux across membrane or reducing the temperature difference between the bulk flows on the two sides of membrane. For Ψ >1,the overall effect of the heat and mass transfer is that the effective heat flux points from low to high temperature sides and the total thermal resistance decreases with increasing the mass flux or reducing the temperature difference. In the case that the tem-perature gradient and mass transfer are in the opposite directions, the existence of the heat of sorption acts to enhance the heat transfer from high to low temperature sides, causing a reduced total thermal resistance, and the greater the mass flux or the smaller the temperature difference, the smaller the total thermal resistance. | Teng Hu JingChun Min YaoZu Song | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,12: | 5
Plasma soluble C-type lectin-like receptor-2 is associated with the risk of coronary artery disease显示文摘Accumulating evidence suggests that C-type lectin-like receptor-2(CLEC-2)plays an important role in atherothrombosis. In this case-control study,we investigated the association between CLEC-2 and incidence of coronary artery disease(CAD).A total of 216 patients, including 14 cases of stable angina pectoris(SAP,non-ACS)and 202 cases of acute coronary syndrome(ACS),and 89 non-CAD control subjects were enrolled.Plasma levels of soluble CLEC-2(sCLEC-2)were measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Compared with the control group(65.69(55.36–143.22)pg/mL),the plasma levels of sCLEC-2 were significantly increased in patients with CAD(133.67(88.76–220.09)pg/mL)and ACS(134.16(88.88–225.81)pg/mL).The multivariate adjusted odds ratios(95%confidence interval)of CAD reached 2.01(1.52–2.66)(Ptrend<0.001)for each 1-quartile increase in sCLEC-2.Restricted cubic splines showed a positive dose-response association between sCLEC2 and CAD incidence(Plinearity<0.001).The addition of sCLEC-2 to conventional risk factors improved the C statistic(0.821 vs.0.761,P=0.004)and reclassification ability(net reclassification improvement:57.45%,P<0.001;integrated discrimination improvement:8.27%,P<0.001)for CAD.In conclusion, high plasma sCLEC-2 is independently associated with CAD risk, and the prognostic value of sCLEC-2 may be evaluated in future prospective studies. | Min Fei Li Xiang Xichen Chai Jingchun Jin Tao You Yiming Zhao Changgeng Ruan Yiwen Hao Li Zhu | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,1: | 5

Studies of the process of moisture exchange across a membrane using irreversible thermodynamics显示文摘On the basis of non-equilibrium thermodynamic theory, the coupling phenomena of heat and mass transfer during the process of moisture exchange across a membrane were studied and the relevant physical and mathematical models were established.Formulae for calculating the four characteristic parameters included in the non-equilibrium thermodynamic model were derived, and the dependences of these parameters on the temperatures and concentrations on the two sides of the membrane were analyzed, providing a basis for calculating the heat and mass fluxes. The effects of temperature and concentration differences between the two sides of membrane and the membrane average temperature on the transmembrane mass and heat fluxes were investigated. The results show that for a given membrane average temperature,a larger concentration difference or a smaller temperature difference leads to a higher mass flux. For fixed concentration and temperature differences and with the mass flux predominantly caused by the concentration difference,a higher membrane average temperature yields a higher mass flux. The ratio of the heat of sorption induced by mass flow to total heat relates not only to the temperature and concentration differences between the two sides of membrane but also to the membrane average temperature and the ratio increases when the temperature difference is reduced. | WANG LiNing MIN JingChun | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,17: | 1

Membrane sorption property effects on transmembrane permeation显示文摘A theoretical study was carried out into membrane transport phenomena.Formulae for calculating the membrane transport resistance and transmembrane mass flux were given, variations in membrane resistance and moisture flux with the membrane sorption constant(C)under various humidity conditions were analyzed, and the value of C corresponding to the minimum membrane resistance or the maximum moisture flux was obtained. The results show that the membrane resistance and moisture flux relate not only to C but also to the relative humidities on both sides of the membrane. As C increases, membrane resistance initially decreases but then increases,i.e.,a minimum occurs, while the moisture flux first decreases and then increases,i.e.,a maximum occurs. The membrane resistance and moisture flux reach their extrema at the same value of C,which is determined by the relative humidities on both sides of the membrane. To reduce the membrane resistance, the value of C should be chosen based on the humidity conditions. | MIN JingChun WANG LiNing | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,22: | 1

Sorption and degradation of imidacloprid and clothianidin in Chinese paddy soil and red soil amended with biochars显示文摘Application of biochar technology in the remediation of organic contaminated soils has drawn growing interest in recent years. In this study, sorption and degradation of two typical neonicotinoid insecticides, imidacloprid(IMI)and clothianidin(CLO)in Chinese typical paddy soil and red soil amended with six kinds of biochars were investigated. The results showed that surface area(SA),pH,total organic carbon and dissolved organic carbon(DOC)of the two soils all increased after biochar amendment, while H/C decreased. With biochar pyrolyzing temperature(PT)increasing from 300℃ to 700℃,the sorption of the two insecticides on biochar-soil mixtures increased by more than 4.3-fold,due to the increasing SA and decreasing H/C.The acidic pH of the two tested soils also favored the enhanced sorption of the insecticides by removing the ash on biochar. The amendment of low-PT(300℃)biochar promoted the biodegradation of IMI and CLO by 11.3-41.9%via providing more DOC and available N for microorganisms, while inhibiting the chemical degradation.Oppositely, the high-PT(500-700℃)biochars inhibited the biodegradation of the insecticides by decreasing their bioavailability and promoted the chemical degradation by providing mineral active groups, and generating·OH and other free radicals. In addition, soil type also affected the effects of biochar remediation. The highest 60-day degradation extent was achieved for CLO(90.5%)and IMI(81.4%)in paddy soil by adding biochar derived from pig manure at 700℃ PT.In summary, the effect of biochar on the fate of organic contaminants in soil is a comprehensive result involving several processes and a systematic study considering the type and property of biochar and soil is needed to optimize biochar technology. | Peng Zhang Lujuan Min Jingchun Tang Muhammad Khalid Rafiq Hongwen Sun | 2020 | Biochar2020,2,3: | 1
