Wearable skin-like optoelectronic systems with suppression of motion artifacts for cuff-less continuous blood pressure monitor显示文摘According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,an estimated 17.9 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year, representing 31%of all global deaths.Continuous non-invasive arterial pressure(CNAP)is essential for the management of cardiovascular diseases. However,it is difficult to achieve long-term CNAP monitoring with the daily use of current devices due to irritation of the skin as well as the lack of motion artifacts suppression. Here,we report a high-performance skin-like optoelectronic system integrated with ultra-thin flexible circuits to monitor CNAP.We introduce a theoretical model via the virtual work principle for predicting the precise blood pressure and suppressing motion artifacts, and propose optical difference in the frequency domain for stable optical measurements in terms of skin-like devices. We compare the results with the blood pressure acquired by invasive(intra-arterial)blood pressure monitoring for>1500 min in total on 44 subjects in an intensive care unit. The maximum absolute errors of diastolic and systolic blood pressure were±7/±10 mm Hg,respectively,in immobilized,and±10/±14 mm Hg,respectively,in walking scenarios. These strategies provide advanced blood pressure monitoring techniques, which would directly address an unmet clinical need or daily use for a highly vulnerable population.Haicheng Li Yinji Ma Ziwei Liang Zhouheng Wang Yu Cao Yuan Xu Hua Zhou Bingwei Lu Ying Chen Zhiyuan Han Shisheng Cai Xue Feng 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:7
Identification and characterization of rice blast resistance gene Pid4 by a combination of transcriptomic profiling and genome analysis显示文摘Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. We demonstrated that a plant R gene can be quickly isolated using transcriptomic profiling coupled with genome-wide sequence analysis.Zhixiong Chen Wen Zhao Xiaobo Zhu Chengdong Zou Junjie Yin Mawsheng Chern Xiaogang Zhou Heng Ying Xin Jiang Yongzhen Li Haicheng Liao Mengping Cheng Weitao Li Min He Jing Wang Jichun Wang Bingtian Ma Jirui Wang Shigui Li Lihuang Zhu Xuewei Chen 2018Journal of Genetics and Genomics2018,45,12:7
Nicotinamide mononucleotide improves spermatogenic function in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice via modulating the glycolysis pathway显示文摘Spermatogenic dysfunction is one of the major secondary complications of diabetes;however, the underlying mechanisms remain ill-defined,and there is no available drug or strategy for the radical treatment of diabetic spermatogenic dysfunction. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the protective effects of nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN)on testicular spermatogenic function in streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic mice. The results show that oral administration of NMN significantly increases the body and testis weight and the number of sperms. Moreover, the abnormal sperm count and the rate of sperm malformation are significantly decreased compared with the saline-treated diabetic mice.Histological analysis reveals that NMN treatment significantly increases the area and diameter of seminiferous tubules, accompanied by an increased number of spermatogenic cells and sperms.Immunohistochemistry and qRT-PCR results show that NMN increases Bcl-2 expression and decreases Bax expression in the testis.NMN also increases the protein expression of Vimentin and the mRNA expressions of WT1 and GATA4.In addition,qRT-PCR,western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry results also show that NMN increases the expressions of glycolysis-related rate-limiting enzymes including HK2,PKM2,and LDHA.In summary, this study demonstrates the protective effects of NMN on the testis in an STZ-induced diabetic mice model.NMN exerts its protective effects via reducing spermatogenic cell apoptosis by regulating glycolysis of Sertoli cells in diabetic mice. This study provides an experimental basis for the future clinical application of NMN in diabetes-induced spermatogenicdysfunction.Duo Ma Linlin Hu Jinyuan Wang Min Luo Aihong Liang Xiaocan Lei Biyun Liao Meixiang Li Ming Xie Haicheng Li Yiwei Gong Dan Zi Xiangrun Li Xi Chen Xucai Liao 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,9:1

Detection and classification of breast lesions using multiple information on contrast-enhanced mammography by a multiprocess deep-learning system: A multicenter study显示文摘Objective: Accurate detection and classification of breast lesions in early stage is crucial to timely formulate effective treatments for patients. We aim to develop a fully automatic system to detect and classify breast lesions using multiple contrast-enhanced mammography(CEM) images. Methods: In this study, a total of 1,903 females who underwent CEM examination from three hospitals were enrolled as the training set, internal testing set, pooled external testing set and prospective testing set. Here we developed a CEM-based multiprocess detection and classification system(MDCS) to perform the task of detection and classification of breast lesions. In this system, we introduced an innovative auxiliary feature fusion(AFF)algorithm that could intelligently incorporates multiple types of information from CEM images. The average freeresponse receiver operating characteristic score(AFROC-Score) was presented to validate system’s detection performance, and the performance of classification was evaluated by area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC). Furthermore, we assessed the diagnostic value of MDCS through visual analysis of disputed cases, comparing its performance and efficiency with that of radiologists and exploring whether it could augment radiologists’ performance. Results: On the pooled external and prospective testing sets, MDCS always maintained a high standalone performance, with AFROC-Scores of 0.953 and 0.963 for detection task, and AUCs for classification were 0.909[95% confidence interval(95% CI): 0.822-0.996] and 0.912(95% CI: 0.840-0.985), respectively. It also achieved higher sensitivity than all senior radiologists and higher specificity than all junior radiologists on pooled external and prospective testing sets. Moreover, MDCS performed superior diagnostic efficiency with an average reading time of 5 seconds, compared to the radiologists’ average reading time of 3.2 min. The average performance of all radiologists was also improved to varying degrees with MDCS assistance. Conclusions: MDCS demonstrated excellent performance in the detection and classification of breast lesions, and greatly enhanced the overall performance of radiologists.Yuqian Chen Zhen Hua Fan Lin Tiantian Zheng Heng Zhou Shijie Zhang Jing Gao Zhongyi Wang Huafei Shao Wenjuan Li Fengjie Liu Simin Wang Yan Zhang Feng Zhao Hao Liu Haizhu Xie Heng Ma Haicheng Zhang Ning Mao 2023Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,4:0
Tunable emission properties of core-shell ZnCuInS-ZnS quantum dots with enhanced fluorescence intensity显示文摘Cadmium-free I-III-VI quantum dots(QDs), represented by Cu-In-S(CIS), are widely investigated for their non-toxicity and tunable emission properties. In this work, Zn-Cu-In-S(ZCIS) alloyed QDs were synthesized via a solvothermal approach by heating up a mixture of the corresponding metal precursors and sulphur powder with dodecanethiol in oleylamine media, and the fluorescent intensity was greatly enhanced by coating ZnS(ZS) shell. By changing the ratio of Cu, the as prepared ZCIS-ZS QDs showed composition-tunable photoluminescent(PL) emission over the visible spectral window from about 500 nm to 620 nm, which is much wider than that of CIS QDs. Moreover, the influence of excitation wavelength, reaction temperature and time on the optical properties of the ZCIS-ZS QDs was also studied. This research provides a feasible and simple approach to prepare ZCIS-ZS QDs with large tunable spectral range on visible region, which could greatly contribute to the development of potential applications due to their non-toxicity and excellent optical properties.Yihe Jia Haicheng Wang Long Xiang Xiaoguang Liu Wei Wei Ning Ma Dongbai Sun 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,6:0
Lightweight PPy aerogel adopted with Co and SiO_(2) nanoparticles for enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘Lightweight nanocomposites consisting of magnetic and dielectric units aroused intensive interest as potential high performance electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. In this work,we report a facile and efficient method to fabricate(Co,SiO_(2))/PPy composites with tunable electromagnetic properties. The absorbing properties and effective absorbing bandwidth can be regulated by controlling the content of SiO_(2) in composites. The composite shows a maximum reflection loss(RL)of-65.31 d B at 11.12 GHz with a thickness of 3.002 mm when SiO_(2) being 22 wt.%.The effective absorbing bandwidth reaches up to 5.1 GHz(8.91-14.01 GHz),which covers the entire X band(8-12 GHz).The improved impedance matching, high interfacial polarization and complex electromagnetic synergy in the composites are the key factors giving rise to the higher efficient absorption. The PPy aerogel-based nanocomposites with controllable absorption performance, lower density and strong environmental adaptability will become attractive candidates as advanced microwave absorbing materials.Haicheng Wang Huating Wu Huifang Pang Yuhua Xiong Shuwang Ma Yuping Duan Yanglong Hou Changhui Mao 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,2:0
