| 7 | Incorporating kernelized multi-omics data improves the accuracy of genomic prediction显示文摘Background:Genomic selection(GS)has revolutionized animal and plant breeding after the first implementation via early selection before measuring phenotypes.Besides genome,transcriptome and metabolome information are increasingly considered new sources for GS.Difficulties in building the model with multi-omics data for GS and the limit of specimen availability have both delayed the progress of investigating multi-omics.Results:We utilized the Cosine kernel to map genomic and transcriptomic data as n×n symmetric matrix(G matrix and T matrix),combined with the best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)for GS.Here,we defined five kernel-based prediction models:genomic BLUP(GBLUP),transcriptome-BLUP(TBLUP),multi-omics BLUP(MBLUP,M=ratio×G+(1-ratio)×T),multi-omics single-step BLUP(mss BLUP),and weighted multi-omics single-step BLUP(wmss BLUP)to integrate transcribed individuals and genotyped resource population.The predictive accuracy evaluations in four traits of the Chinese Simmental beef cattle population showed that(1)MBLUP was far preferred to GBLUP(ratio=1.0),(2)the prediction accuracy of wmss BLUP and mss BLUP had 4.18%and 3.37%average improvement over GBLUP,(3)We also found the accuracy of wmss BLUP increased with the growing proportion of transcribed cattle in the whole resource population.Conclusions:We concluded that the inclusion of transcriptome data in GS had the potential to improve accuracy.Moreover,wmss BLUP is accepted to be a promising alternative for the present situation in which plenty of individuals are genotyped when fewer are transcribed. | Mang Liang Bingxing An Tianpeng Chang Tianyu Deng Lili Du Keanning Li Sheng Cao Yueying Du Lingyang Xu Lupei Zhang Xue Gao Junya Li Huijiang Gao | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,1: | 0 |
| 8 | Association between the nasopharyngeal microbiome and metabolome in patients with COVID-19显示文摘SARS-CoV-2,the causative agent for COVID-19,infect human mainly via respiratory tract,which is heavily inhabited by local microbiota.However,the interaction between SARS-CoV-2 and nasopharyngeal microbiota,and the association with metabolome has not been well characterized.Here,metabolomic analysis of blood,urine,and nasopharyngeal swabs from a group of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients,and metagenomic analysis of pharyngeal samples were used to identify the key features of COVID-19.Results showed lactic acid,L-proline,and chlorogenic acid methyl ester(CME)were significantly reduced in the sera of COVID-19 patients compared with non-COVID-19 ones.Nasopharyngeal commensal bacteria including Gemella morbillorum,Gemella haemolysans and Leptotrichia hofstadii were notably depleted in the pharynges of COVID-19 patients,while Prevotella histicola,Streptococcus sanguinis,and Veillonella dispar were relatively increased.The abundance of G.haemolysans and L.hofstadii were significantly positively associated with serum CME,which might be an anti-SARS-CoV-2 bacterial metabolite.This study provides important information to explore the linkage between nasopharyngeal microbiota and disease susceptibility.The findings were based on a very limited number of patients enrolled in this study;a larger size of cohort will be appreciated for further investigation. | Jing Liu Sheng Liu Zhao Zhang Xuejun Lee Wenxuan Wu Zhanlian Huang Ziying Lei Wenxiong Xu Dabiao Chen Xing Wu Yang Guo Liang Peng Bingliang Lin Yutian Chong Xiangyu Mou Mang Shi Ping Lan Tao Chen Wenjing Zhao Zhiliang Gao | 2021 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,3: | 0 |
| 9 | Incipient Gear Fault Detection Using Adaptive Impulsive Wavelet Filter Based on Spectral Negentropy显示文摘Adaptive wavelet filtering is a very important fault feature extraction method in the domain of condition monitoring;however, owing to the time-consuming computation and difficulty of choosing criteria used to represent incipient faults, the engineering applications are limited to some extent. To detect incipient gear faults at a fast speed, a new criterion is proposed to optimize the parameters of the modified impulsive wavelet for constructing an optimal wavelet filter to detect impulsive gear faults. First, a new criterion based on spectral negentropy is proposed. Then, a novel search strategy is applied to optimize the parameters of the impulsive wavelet based on the new criterion. Finally,envelope spectral analysis is applied to determine the incipient fault characteristic frequency. | 14 | A Comparative Study of the Electrodes Gels’Electrical Properties in the Measurement Issues of Intrabody Communication显示文摘Intrabody communication(IBC)technology is becoming progressively more standard-ized due to its low power consumption and high security features incorporated into the third phys-ical layer of the IEEE 802.15.6 standard.Even then,there are still many challenges in normalizing the measurement issues of IBC.A major concern that should not be overlooked is the electrodes in the IBC,especially the popular use of gel electrodes.In the channel measurements,gel electrodes are commonly employed to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and prevent electrodes from falling off.In this paper,a comparative study of the electrical properties of gel was investigated during the measurement of human channel characteristics and to clarify the differences of them.Firstly,the basis of electrostatic field pole plate measurements and electromagnetic theory were introduced to interpretate how the relative permittivity and conductivity of different gels will influence the meas-urement results.Then the in vivo experiments with different gel or dry electrodes were performed to compare the differences induced by the gel.The results indicate that the influence of the gel on the human channel measurement is mainly concentrated below 400 kHz(the attenuation is re-duced by 16.7 dB on average),and the stability of the permittivity and conductivity of the gel has a direct impact on the stability of its measurement of the human channel.This result may provide a meaningful reference for the standardization of electrode usage in IBC. | Fengjie Lin Ziliang Wei Jiejie Yang Yangrong Wen Yueming Gao Sio Hang Pun Mang I Vai Min Du | 2022 | Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2022,31,1: | 0 |
