| 2 | The multifaceted PDCD10/CCM3 gene显示文摘The programmed cell death 10(PDCD10)gene was originally identified as an apoptosis-related gene,although it is now usually known as CCM3,as the third causative gene of cerebral cavernous malformation(CCM).CCM is a neurovascular disease that is characterized by vascular malformations and is associated with headaches,seizures,focal neurological deficits,and cerebral hemorrhage.The PDCD10/CCM3 protein has multiple subcellular localizations and interacts with several multi-protein complexes and signaling pathways.Thus PDCD10/CCM3 governs many cellular functions,which include cell-to-cell junctions and cytoskeleton organization,cell proliferation and apoptosis,and exocytosis and angiogenesis.Given its central role in the maintenance of homeostasis of the cell,dysregulation of PDCD10/CCM3 can result in a wide range of altered cell functions.This can lead to severe diseases,including CCM,cognitive disability,and several types of cancers.Here,we review the multifaceted roles of PDCD10/CCM3 in physiology and pathology,with a focus on its functions beyond CCM. | Mariaelena Valentino Elisabetta Dejana Matteo Malinverno | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021，8，6： | 2 |

| 13 | Effectiveness of oral probiotics supplementation in the treatment of adult small chalazion显示文摘AIM:To define the possible beneficial impact of probiotics oral supplementation on patients affected by chalazion.METHODS:Prospective comparative pilot study on 20 adults suffering from chalazion randomly divided into two groups.The first group(n=10)received conservative treatment with lid hygiene,warm compression,and dexamethasone/tobramycin ointment for at least 20 d.The second group(n=10),in addition to the conservative treatment,received a mixture of probiotic microorganisms of Streptococcus thermophilus ST10(DSM 25246),Lactococcus lactis LLC02(DSM 29536)and Lactobacillus delbrueckii(DSM 16606)once a day up to 3 mo.Chalazia were classified according to their size into three groups:small(<2 mm),medium(≥2 to<4 mm),or large(≥4 mm).When conservative treatment with and without probiotics supplementation failed to resolve the lesion,invasive methods were used,intralesional steroid injection in medium size chalazion and surgical incision and curettage for the largest ones.RESULTS:Medical treatment with or without probiotics supplementation was effective only on the small size chalazia.There was a significant difference in the time taken for complete resolution of small size chalazia between the two groups in favor of the patients receiving probiotics(38.50±9.04 d vs 21.00±7.00 d,P=0.039).Medium and large size chalazia did not respond to medical treatment with or without probiotics supplementation over the follow-up period(3 mo).The treatment did not induce any complications in both groups and no recurrence of chalaziosis was recorded in both groups.CONCLUSION:The considerable difference in time taken for complete resolution of small chalazia between the two groups in favor of the experimental one confirms the presence of a gut-eye axis. | Mariaelena Filippelli Roberto dell'Omo Angela Amoruso Ilaria Paiano Marco Pane Pasquale Napolitano Giuseppe Campagna Silvia Bartollino Ciro Costagliola | 2022 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2022，15，1： | 0 |
| 14 | Geomorphologic map of the 1st Mutnaya River,Southeastern Kamchatka,Russia显示文摘The Kamchatka Peninsula – situated in the Pacific 'Ring of Fire' – has 29 active and over 400 extinct volcanoes. Since it is situated in the northeastern extremity of Russia, in subarctic climate,the volcanic landforms are overprinted by the 446 glaciers. This research focuses on the 1^(st) Mutnaya catchment which drains the southern slopes of two active volcanoes: Avachinsky and Koryaksky. Those volcanoes are a permanent threat for the cities of Petropavlovsk and Elizovo, which are the 2 of 3 cities of the peninsula. Hence, most of the studies carried out in the area dealt with the natural hazards and only few focus on landscape evolution. Thus, the purpose of this study was to elaborate a cartographic approach which integrates classic geomorphology with state of the art GIS and remote sensing techniques.
