1A review of ecological restoration techniques in fluvial rivers显示文摘Rivers play an important role in people's living and agricultural production,however,intense human activities have broken the original ecological balance,and affected structures and functions of the river ecosystem.To restore the damaged river ecosystem back to a healthy status,effective ecological restoration measures need to be implemented.The main problems that the damaged rivers face are either the locally altered hydrological processes affected by construction of hydraulic facilities,or the deterioration of water quality resulted from pollution emissions,or both.In this study,ecological restoration techniques of the rivers affected by engineering control or pollution are reviewed respectively.In addition,three kinds of methods,i.e.physical,chemical and biological-ecological methods are introduced in details for the rivers affected by water pollution.At present,the development of river restoration techniques shows the following trends:1) the scale of ecological restoration is becoming larger;2) ecological restoration measures are required to meet multiple objectives;and 3) the management of water environment is changing from water quality management to aquatic ecosystem management.Baozhu Pan Jianping Yuan Xinhua Zhang Zhaoyin Wang Jiao Chen Jinyou Lu Wenjun Yang Zhiwei Li Na Zhao Mengzhen Xu 2016International Journal of Sediment Research2016,31,2:18
2Improving the activity and stability of Ni-based electrodes for solid oxide cells through surface engineering:Recent progress and future perspectives显示文摘Solid oxide cells(SOCs)have attracted great attention in the past decades because of their high conversion efficiency,low environmental pollution and diversified fuel options.Nickel-based catalysts are the most widely used fuel electrode materials for SOCs due to the low price and high activity.However,when hydrocarbon fuels are employed,nickel-based electrodes face serious carbon deposition challenges,leading to a rapid decline of cell performance.Great efforts have been devoted to understanding the occurrence of the coking reaction,and to improving the stability of the electrodes in hydrocarbon fuels.In this review,we summarize recent research progress of utilizing surface modification to improve the stability and activity of Ni-based electrodes for SOCs by preventing carbon coking.The review starts with a briefly introduction about the reaction mechanism of carbon deposition,followed by listing several surface modification technologies and their working principles.Then we introduce representative works using surface modification strategies to prevent carbon coking on Ni-based electrodes.Finally,we highlight future direction of improving electrode catalytic activity and anti-coking performance through surface engineering.Junxian Pan Yongjian Ye Mengzhen Zhou Xiang Sun Yihan Ling Keiji Yashiro Yan Chen 2021Materials Reports(Energy)2021,1,2:2
3北方半干旱草原生态系统光合参数的季节和年际变异显示文摘生态系统表观量子效率(α)、最大光合速率(P_(max))和暗呼吸速率(R_(d))不仅反映了生态系统水平光合生理特征,同时也是碳循环模型中光合过程模拟的关键参数。气候和植被因子都会影响光合参数的季节和年际变异,但二者在光合参数调控过程中的相对贡献和作用途径尚不清晰。本研究基于连续12年(2006-2017)的涡度相关观测数据,分析了内蒙古半干旱典型草原光合参数的季节和年际变化规律利用回归分析和结构方程模型(SEM)方法明晰了环境和生理调控的作用途径及相对贡献。结果发现,光合参数(α、P_(max)和R)均表现出单峰的季节变化趋势,并呈现明显的年际波动。温度(T_(a))和土壤含水量(SWC)的变化共同影响光合参数的季节变化,而SWC主导了其年际变异。α和R_(d)的变化主要由T_(a)决定,而P_(max)的变化主要受SWC的影响。SEM模型分析表明,除了直接作用外,环境因子主要通过影响冠层水平气孔导度(gc)对光合参数和碳同化生理过程进行调控。此外,叶面积指数对光合参数特别是Pmax的季节和年际变异起主要调控作用。以上结果明确了环境和植被共同决定了生态系统水平光合参数的季节和年际变异,并强调了在水分受限的草原生态系统中,植被生理调控在光合碳同化能力和碳汇功能评估中的重要作用。Cuihai You Yanbing Wang Xingru Tan Bingwei Zhang Tingting Ren Boyu Chen Mengzhen Xu Shiping Chen 2022Journal of Plant Ecology2022,15,5:1

7Factor Decomposition and Regression Analysis of the Energy Related Carbon Emissions in Shandong, China: A Perspective of Industrial Structure显示文摘An in-depth study of the energy related carbon emissions has important practical significance for carbon emissions reduction and structural adjustment in Shandong Province and throughout China.Based on the perspective of industrial structure,the expanded KAYA equation to measure the energy related carbon emissions of the primary industries(Resources and Agriculture)and secondary industries(Manufacturing and Construction)and tertiary industries(Retail and Service)was utilized in Shandong Province from 2011 to 2017.The carbon emissions among industries in Shandong Province were empirically analyzed using the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index decomposition approach.The results were follows:(1)Under the three industrial dimensions,the energy structure effect and the energy intensity effect have a restraining influence on the carbon emissions of the three industries.(2)The development level effect and the employment scale effect play a pulling role in carbon emissions.(3)From the perspective of the employment structure effect of the primary industry,there is a restraining effect on carbon emissions,while the employment structure effects of the secondary and tertiary industries play a pulling role in carbon emissions,and the employment structure effect of the tertiary industry has a greater pulling effect on carbon emissions than the secondary industry.Weifeng Gong Baoqing Zhu Chuanhui Wang Zhenyue Fan Mengzhen Zhao Liang Chen 2021Energy Engineering2021,118,4:0
8Laser-ablated violet phosphorus/graphene heterojunction as ultrasensitive ppb-level room-temperature NO sensor显示文摘Two dimensional(2D)materials are promising gas sensing materials,but the most of them need to be heated to show promising sensing performance.Sensing structures with high sensing performance at room-temperature are urgent.Here,another 2D material,violet phosphorus(VP)nanoflake is investigated as gas sensing material.The VP nanoflakes have been effectively ablated to have layers of 1–5 layers by laser ablation in glycol.The VP nanoflakes are combined with graphene to form VP/G heterostructuresbased NO sensor.An ultra-high gauge factor of 3×10^(7)for ppb-level sensing and high resistance response of 59.21%with ultra-short recovery time of 6s for ppm-level sensing have been obtained.The sensing mechanism is also analysed by density functional theory(DFT)calculations.The adsorption energy of VP/G is calculated to be-0.788 e V,resulting in electrons migration from P to N to form a P-N bond in the gap between VP and graphene sheet.This work provides a facile approach to ablate VP for mass production.The as-produced structures have also provided potential gas sensors with ultrasensitive performance as ppb-level room-temperature sensors.Xiaohui Ye Ming Qi Hao Qiang Mengzhen Chen Xi Zheng Mengyue Gu Xuewen Zhao Yanling Yang Chaozheng He Jinying Zhang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,9:0
9Construction of apricot variety search engine based on deep learning显示文摘Apricot has a long history of cultivation and has many varieties and types. The traditional variety identification methods are timeconsuming and labor-consuming, posing grand challenges to apricot resource management. Tool development in this regard will help researchers quickly identify variety information. This study photographed apricot fruits outdoors and indoors and constructed a dataset that can precisely classify the fruits using a U-net model (F-score:99%), which helps to obtain the fruit's size, shape, and color features. Meanwhile, a variety search engine was constructed, which can search and identify variety from the database according to the above features. Besides, a mobile and web application (ApricotView) was developed, and the construction mode can be also applied to other varieties of fruit trees.Additionally, we have collected four difficult-to-identify seed datasets and used the VGG16 model for training, with an accuracy of 97%, which provided an important basis for ApricotView. 10Research Progress on Mechanisms in Regulating Anxiety-Related Neural Circuits显示文摘Anxiety is a common disease in the modern society which significantly affects people’s daily lives and function,thus it has become an increasingly highlighted issue.Anxiety is regulated by neural circuits in the brain.Therefore,the basal mechanism of anxiety has been studied,especially research based on the related neural circuits.For a long time,due to the limitations of science and technology,there was no breakthrough in research regarding anxiety.However,in recent years,due to the progress of technology,the research on anxiety neural circuits has made great progress.For example,the interaction among various brain regions,such as the central nucleus of the amygdala(CeA),the ventral tegmental area(VTA),the ventral hippocampus(vHPC),and so on.This article focuses on three brain regions:including BLA,BNST,and VTA,and illustrate their different roles and mechanisms in regulating anxiety.On this basis,this intensive study of anxiety will further promote the progress of anxiety research and provide therapeutic targets for the related treatment.Mengzhen Chen 2023Journal of Clinical and Nursing Research2023,7,1:0
11Definition of spatial positions within foraging Greater White-fronted Geese flocks from an individual's perspective:Cost-benefit dynamics change with the distance to flock edge显示文摘The costs and benefits of group living are not evenly distributed among individuals that occupy different spatial positions within a group(central or peripheral).However,the definitions of central and peripheral positions may artificially mask the true dynamics of cost and benefit of individuals.Using wintering foraging Greater Whitefronted Geese(Anser albifrons)flocks as our study system,we measured individual spatial position within a flock as distance to the flock edge.First,we tested the effects of distance to edge on the antipredation cost and foraging benefit of individual goose using generalized linear mixed models(GLMMs).Flock size and number of neighbors and their interactions with distance to edge were included as fixed effects in GLMMs.Then we used piecewise regression to determine the threshold value of distance to edge to classify central and peripheral individuals.Our results indicated distance to edge significantly affected percent of time spent on vigilance(vigilance time),percent of time spent on foraging(foraging time)and intake rate(pecks/min),whereas other factors had no effects.We found that the critical distance that predicted changes in behavior was around 2.5 m.Birds 2.5 m or less from the edge of the group were more vigilant,and had less efficient foraging than more central individuals.Behavioral differences between central and peripheral individuals were more easily detected when the birds were classified by the method introduced in this study than by the traditional minimum convex polygon method.Our research provides researchers a dichotomous classification scheme that places individuals into peripheral and central positions from an individual's perspective.Mengzhen Wang Wenwen Chen Chunlin Li Jinming Zhao 2022Avian Research2022,13,4:0

13Pre-mobilization platelet count predicts stem cell yield during mobilization in patients with multiple myeloma显示文摘Background Autologous hematopoietic stem cell(HSC)transplantation remains the recommended treatment for eligible patients with multiple myeloma(MM).Increasing the number of transplanted CD34^(+)cells shorten the time to hematopoietic reconstitution and increases the overall survival of patients.With the harvest of a sufficient CD34^(+)cell number being crucial,this study aimed to predict the factors that affect stem cell collection.Methods We conducted a retrospective study of 110 patients who were newly diagnosed with MM and underwent autologous HSC collection at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital between March 2016 and July 2022.Multiple factors were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U tests for between-group comparisons.Differences were considered statistically significant at P<0.05.Results We found that patient age affected stem cell collection significantly;for patients younger than 55 years,the number of CD34^(+)cells harvested may be≥2×10^(6)/L,is unlikely to reach 5×10^(6)/L.Platelet count at initial mobilization was a predictor of the number of CD34^(+)cells collected.Collection may fail when the platelet count at initial mobilization is below 17×10^(9)/L and may be excellent when it is higher than 199×10^(9)/L.Conclusions This finding could guide us to predict the approximate number of CD34^(+)cells collected in advance during autologous transplant mobilization for MM and to decide in advance whether to apply plerixafor to improve the number of HSCs collected.Yuan Chen Shan Gao Yutong Wang Minqiu Lu Bin Chu Lei Shi Qiuqing Xiang Lijuan Fang Yuehua Ding Mengzhen Wang Xi Liu Xin Zhao Kai Sun Li Bao 2023Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy2023,1,1:0
14A new multi-source remote sensing image sample dataset with high resolution for flood area extraction:GF-FloodNet显示文摘Deep learning algorithms show good prospects for remote sensingflood monitoring.They mostly rely on huge amounts of labeled data.However,there is a lack of available labeled data in actual needs.In this paper,we propose a high-resolution multi-source remote sensing dataset forflood area extraction:GF-FloodNet.GF-FloodNet contains 13388 samples from Gaofen-3(GF-3)and Gaofen-2(GF-2)images.We use a multi-level sample selection and interactive annotation strategy based on active learning to construct it.Compare with otherflood-related datasets,GF-FloodNet not only has a spatial resolution of up to 1.5 m and provides pixel-level labels,but also consists of multi-source remote sensing data.We thoroughly validate and evaluate the dataset using several deep learning models,including quantitative analysis,qualitative analysis,and validation on large-scale remote sensing data in real scenes.Experimental results reveal that GF-FloodNet has significant advantages by multi-source data.It can support different deep learning models for training to extractflood areas.There should be a potential optimal boundary for model training in any deep learning dataset.The boundary seems close to 4824 samples in GF-FloodNet.We provide GF-FloodNet at http://gffzz32f81fe4765d4826so0wx5pucqbfp6bcq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/datasets/pengliuair/gf-floodnet and http://gffzzfe5ad979a04a470aso0wx5pucqbfp6bcq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/s/1vdUCGNAfFwG5UjZ9RLLFMQ?pwd=8v6o.Yuwei Zhang Peng Liu Lajiao Chen Mengzhen Xu Xingyan Guo Lingjun Zhao 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:0

16Reactivation of PPARαalleviates myocardial lipid accumulation and cardiac dysfunction by improving fatty acidβ-oxidation in Dsg2-deficient arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy(ACM),a fatal heart disease characterized by fibroadipocytic replacement of cardiac myocytes,accounts for 20%of sudden cardiac death and lacks effective treatment.It is often caused by mutations in desmosome proteins,with Desmoglein-2(DSG2)mutations as a common etiology.However,the mechanism underlying the accumulation of fibrofatty in ACM remains unknown,which impedes the development of curative treatment.Here we investigated the fat accumulation and the underlying mechanism in a mouse model of ACM induced by cardiac-specific knockout of Dsg2(CS-Dsg2^(-/-)).Heart failure and cardiac lipid accumulation were observed in CSDsg2^(-/-)mice.We demonstrated that these phenotypes were caused by decline of fatty acid(FA)β-oxidation resulted from impaired mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)signaling.Rapamycin worsened while overexpression of m TOR and 4EBP1 rescued the FAβ-oxidation pathway in CS-Dsg2^(-/-)mice.Reactivation of PPARa by fenofibrate or AAV9-Ppara significantly alleviated the lipid accumulation and restored cardiac function.Our results suggest that impaired m TOR-4EBP1-PPARa-dependent FAβ-oxidation contributes to myocardial lipid accumulation in ACM and PPARa may be a potential target for curative treatment of ACM.Yubi Lin Ruonan Liu Yanling Huang Zhe Yang Jianzhong Xian Jingmin Huang Zirui Qiu Xiufang Lin Mengzhen Zhang Hui Chen Huadong Wang Jiana Huang Geyang Xu 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,1:0
17Clinical characteristics and prognostic significance of immunoglobulin isotype switch in patients with multiple myeloma显示文摘Immunoglobulin(Ig)isotype switching in multiple myeloma(MM)is a rare form of clonal evolution.The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical features and prognostic significance of Ig isotype switching by observing Ig transformation in patients with relapse.A retrospective analysis was performed on 506 patients with newly diagnosed MM who were treated at our hospital from February 2005 to February 2020.The patients who experienced relapse were divided into the following four groups according to Ig phenotype:original paraprotein,complete isotype switching,light chain escape(LCE),and non-secretory clinical relapse.For comparative purposes with the original paraprotein group,the last three groups were pooled as the transformation group.Among the 506 included patients,376(74.3%)relapsed.Among them,13/376(3.5%)patients exhibited Ig isotype switching,including 3 with complete isotype switching,3 with LCE,and 7 with non-secretory clinical relapse.Eleven remained sensitive to therapy,exhibiting at least a partial response.Seven patients survived for at least 20 months after relapse.The median overall survival time of the LCE,clinical relapse,and complete isotype switching groups were 6,20,and 76 months,respectively,after recurrence.The clinical manifestations and Ig phenotypes of MM recurrence were different from those at the initial diagnosis in the 13 patients exhibiting Ig isotype switching.These differences vividly conveyed the heterogeneity of the clonal populations and provides direct clinical evidence for MM clonal evolution.Minqiu Lu Bin Chu Yutong Wang Lei Shi Shan Gao Lijuan Fang Qiuqing Xiang Xi Liu Yuehua Ding Yuan Chen Xin Zhao Mengzhen Wang Kai Sun Li Bao 2023Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy2023,1,2:0
