| 1 | Genetic diversity in two threatened species in Vietnam:Taxus chinensis and Taxus wallichiana显示文摘Taxus chinensis and T. wallichiana in have been threatened in their distribution areas in recent decades because of their over-exploitation and reduction and destruction of native habitats. Determining the genetic diversity in populations of the two species will provide guidelines for their protection and preservation. Two hundred and fifteen trees from six populations of T. chinensis and150 sampled trees of T. wallichiana were sampled. Six microsatellite primer pairs selected from 16 primer pairs were used to investigate genetic variation at the population and species levels. Five yielded polymorphic alleles, and among the 13 putative alleles amplified, 11 were polymorphic(accounting for 76.33 %).Shannon's information index(I) and percentage of polymorphic bands(PPB)(I = 0.202 and PPB = 67.22 % for T. chinensis; I = 0.217 and PPB = 65.03 % for T. wallichiana). Both species had low levels of genetic diversity(mean H_o= 0.107, H_e= 0.121 for T. chinensis; H_o= 0.095, H_e= 0.109 for T. wallichiana). Genetic differentiation among populations was higher(FST= 0.189) for T. chinensis and lower(0.156) for T.wallichiana, indicating limited gene flow(Nm) among populations for T. chinensis(0.68) and T. wallichiana(0.65).Variation among individuals of T. chinensis was 63.59 and73.12 % for T. wallichiana. Thus, the threatened status of the two conifers is related to a lack of genetic diversity. All populations are isolated in small forest remnants. | 2 | Ethanol extracts of Scutellaria baicalensis protect against lipopolysaccharide-induced acute liver injury in mice显示文摘Objective: To investigated the protective potential of ethanol extracts of Scutellaria baicalensis(S. baicalensis) against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced liver injury. Methods: Dried roots of S. baicalensis were extracted with ethanol and concentrated to yield a dry residue. Mice were administered 200 mg/kg of the ethanol extracts orally once daily for one week. Animals were subsequently administered a single dose of LPS(5 mg/kg of body weight, intraperitoneal injection). Both protein and m RNA levels of cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, and interleukin-6 in liver tissues were evaluated by ELISA assay and quantitative PCR. C yclooxygenase-2, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and nuclear factor-κB protein levels in liver tissues were analyzed by western blotting. Results: Liver injury induced by LPS signifi cantly increased necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, cyclooxygenase-2, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and nuclear factor-κB in liver tissues. | 3 | Protective effect of Tetracera scandens L.leaf extract against CCl_4-induced acute liver injury in rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the protective potential of ethanolic extracts of Tetracera scandens L.(T.scandens) against CCl_4 induced oxidative stress in liver tissues.Methods:Dried leaf powder of T.scandens was extracted with ethanol and concentrated to yield a dry residue.Rats were administered with 100 mg/kg of ethanolic extracts orally once daily for one week.Animals were subsequently administered with a single dose of CCl_4(I mL/kg body weight,intraperitoneal injection).Various assays,such as serum levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,lipid peroxidation,protein oxidation(carbonyl protein group),tumor necrosis factor alpha,catalase,superoxide dismutase,and glutathione peroxidase,were used to assess damage caused by CCl_4 and the protective effects of the ethanol extract on liver tissues.Results:Hepatotoxicity induced by CCl_4 was evidenced by a significant increase in serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase level,lipid peroxidation,protein carbonyl group,and tumor necrosis factor alpha,as well as decreased activity of the hepatic antioxidant enzymes(catalase.superoxide dismutase.and glutathione peroxidase).Treatment with ethanolic T.scandens extracts prevented all of these typically observed changes in CCl_4-treated rats.Conclusions:Our findings indicate that T.scandens has a significant protective effect against CCl_4 induced hepatotoxicity in rat.which may be due to its antioxidant properties. | Tung Bui Thanh Hai Nguyen Thanh Hue Pham Thi Minh Huong Le-Thi-Thu Huong Duong Thi Ly Loi Vu Duc | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2015，5，3： | 3 |

| 6 | Effectiveness on post-stroke hemiplegia in patients:electroacupuncture plus cycling vs electroacupuncture alone显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,Vietnam.METHODS:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT groups.RESULTS:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT groups.Patients in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS:Combination with cycling training significantly improves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture. | Minh Duc Nguyen Thanh Van Tran Quoc Vinh Nguyen Ninh Khac Nguyen Son Truong Vu Luu Trong Nguyen Linh Vu Phuong Dang | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023，43，2： | 2 |
| 7 | Upconversion luminescence of Gd2O3:Er3+and Gd2O3:Er3+/silica nanophosphors fabricated by EDTA combustion method显示文摘Gd2O3:Er^3+nanophosphors were fabricated by the combustion method in presence of Na2 ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid(EDTA-Na2)as fuel at not high temperature(≤350℃)within a very short time of 5 min.The added concentration of Er^3+ions in Gd2O3 matrix was changed from 0.5 mol%to 5.0 mol%.The X-ray diffraction pattern of samples indicates the monoclinic structure of Gd2O3:Er^3+.The morphology and chemical composition analysis of the Gd2O3:Er^3+samples are characterized by a field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM)and a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR).The photoluminescence(PL),photo luminescence excitation(PLE)and upconversion(UC)at room temperature of the prepared materials with different concentrations of Er^3+were investigated.The PL of Gd2O3:Er^3+nanomaterials are shown in visible at 545,594,623,648,688 nm under excitation at 275 nm.The emission bands from transitions of Er^3+from 2P3/2 to 4F9/2 are observed,UC luminescent spectra of the Gd2O3:Er^3+/silica nanocomposites under 976 nm excitation show the bands at 548 and 670 nm.The influence of excitation power at 980 nm for transitions were measured and calculated.The results indicate that the upconversion process of Gd2O3:Er^3+/silica is two photons absorption mechanism.The low temperature dependence of UC luminescent intensities of the main bands of Gd2O3:Er^3+was investigated towards development of a nanotemperature sensor in the range of 10-300 K. | Le Quoc Minh Tran Kim Anh Nguyen Duy Hung Pham Thi Minh Chau Nguyen Thi Quy Hai Ho Van Tuyen Vu Thi Thai Ha Vu Duc Tu Wieslaw Strek | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019，37，11： | 2 |

| 16 | Antibiotic usage in surgical sperm retrievals among IVF centers显示文摘Surgical sperm retrieval(SSR)is currently one of the most common procedures in in vitro fertilization(IVF).However,a gap between the guidelines and routine clinical practice regarding antibiotic use in sSR,which might lead to antibiotic resistance,is a challenging problem worldwide.A cross-sectional survey was conducted from May 1,2021,to July 15,2021,to investigate antibiotic usage by medical professionals when performing SSR in IVF centers in Vietnam.The confidential questionnaire comprised 12 items,including characteristics of the study population,awareness of antimicrobial resistance,attitude toward prescribing antibiotics,and current practice of prescribing antibiotics when performing SSR.Surveys were completed by 30 of 45 registered IVF centers(66.7%).Among 67 physicians working at those centers,the age and work-experience years(mean±standard deviation[s.d.])were 38.6±6.6 years and 11.2±7.0 years,respectively.Over 60%of them held a degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology,and over four-fifths were men.Most respondents'often/very often/always'raised awareness of antimicrobial resistance to their patients(83.3%),but only half of them'often/occasionally'prescribed antibiotics to patients with SSR in cases where the prescription would be optional.About one-tenth of respondents followed the recommendation from the American Urological Association using'prophylaxis only'for SSR patients.For more invasive SSR,physicians tended to prescribe more complicated and sometimes inappropriate regimens.In conclusion,antibiotic usage in SSR was not always appropriate among IVF centers.Further studies may define specific recommendations for regimens,intervention strategies,and programs to promote appropriate antibiotic use for SSR patients among IVF specialists. | Le Dang Khoa Ngo Dinh Trieu Vy Nguyen Minh Tai Loc Le Duc Thang Dang Tuan Anh Nguyen Phuc Hieu Giang Huynh Nhu Nguyen Dinh Tao Le Hoang David J Handelsman | 2022 | Asian Journal of Andrology2022，24，6： | 0 |

The main content of the article is to control the three-phase grid connected inverter to meet the requirement of controlling the reactive power to zero at a node of the distribution network while maximizing the active power transmitted to the grid. The control circuits are synthesized on the dq coordinate system and verified on the simulation model by Matlab/Simulink. | 19 | Synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal mantle cell lymphoma:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare malignancy,accounting for about 0.2%of malignant colorectal tumors.MCL synchronous with rectal adenocarcinoma is extremely rare.We know of only a few cases reported in the literature.We describe the case of a patient with synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL.CASE SUMMARY A 63-year-old man was admitted to our hospital due to abdominal pain and hematochezia over the past month.The patient was diagnosed with middle rectal cancer cT2N0M0 and underwent surgery.However,we found a large tumor in the small intestine during surgery.The patient underwent total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer and resectioning of the ileal segment containing the large mass.Pathology and immunohistochemistry revealed the presence of both rectal adenocarcinoma and pathognomonic MCL stage IIE presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis.The patient subsequently underwent RDHAP/RCHOP chemotherapy and was maintained with rituximab.A Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography(PET/CT)scan showed that the disease responded well to treatment without tumor-increased metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract.CONCLUSION Synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis are extremely rare.MCL is often discovered fortuitously when rectal cancer is diagnosed.The coexistence of these tumors poses treatment challenges. | Kim-Van Vu Nguyen-Van Trong Nguyen-Thi Khuyen Do Huyen Nga Hoang Anh Nguyen Tien Trung PhamTrung Thong Nguyen Minh Duc | 2023 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2023，11，24： | 0 |
| 20 | Investigation.of human visual cortex responses to flickering light using functional near infrared spectroscopy and constrained ICA显示文摘The human visual sensitivity to the flickering light has been under investigation for decades.The finding of research in this area can contribute to the understanding of human visual system mechanism and visual disorders,and establishing diagnosis and treatment of diseases.The aim of this study is to investigate the ffects of the flickering light to the visual cortex by monitoring the hemodynamic responses of the brain with the functional near infrared spectrosoopy(ENIRS)method.Since the acquired fNIRS signals are afected by physiological factors and measurement artifacts,constrained independent component analysis(eICA)was applied to extract the actual fNIRS responses from the obtained data.The experimental results revealed significant changes(p<0.0001)of the hemodynamic responses of the visual cortex.from the baseline when the flickering stimulation was activated.With the uses of cICA,the contrast to noise ratio(CNR),reflecting the contrast of hemodynamic concentration between rest and task,became larger.This indicated the improvement of the NIRS signals when the noise was eliminated.In subsequent studies,statistical analysis was used to infer the correlation between the NIRS signals and the visual stimulus.We found that there was a slight decrease of the oxygenated hemoglobin con-centration(about 5.69%)over four frequencies when the modulation increased.However,the variations of oxy and deoxy-hemoglobin were not statistically significant. | Nguyen Duc Thang Vo Van Toi Le Giang Tran Nguyen Huynh Minh Tam Lan Anh Trinh | 2014 | Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2014，7，6： | 0 |
