| 1 | Hybridization of metal–organic framework and monodisperse spherical silica for chromatographic separation of xylene isomers显示文摘Metal–organic frameworks(MOFs) packed in the column have been a promising candidate as the stationary phase for high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). However, the direct packing of irregular MOF powder could raise some problems like high back pressure and low column efficiency in the HPLC separation. In this work, UiO-66 capable of separating xylenes was supported effectively on the surface of the monodisperse spherical silica microspheres by one-pot method. The hybridization of Ui O-66 and silica microspheres(termed UiO-66@SiO2 shell–core composite) was prepared by stirring the suspension of the precursors of Ui O-66 and\\COOH terminated silica in the N,N-dimethylformamide with heating. The shell–core composite material UiO66@SiO2 was characterized by SEM, TEM, PXRD and FTIR. Then, it was used as a packing material for the chromatographic separation of xylene isomers. Xylene isomers including o-xylene, m-xylene and p-xylene were efficiently separated on the column with high resolution and good reproducibility. Moreover, the Ui O-66@SiO2 shell–core composites packed column still remained reverse shape selectivity as Ui O-66 possessed, and the retention of xylenes was probably ascribed to the hydrophobic effect between analytes and the aromatic rings of the Ui O-66 shell. | 2 | Risk factors for tissue expander infection in scar reconstruction:a retrospective cohort study of 2374 consecutive cases显示文摘Background:Tissue expansion is used for scar reconstruction owing to its excellent clinical outcomes;however,the complications that emerge from tissue expansion hinder repair.Infection is considered a major complication of tissue expansion.This study aimed to analyze the perioperative risk factors for expander infection.Methods:A large,retrospective,single-institution observational study was carried out over a 10-year period.The study enrolled consecutive patients who had undergone tissue expansion for scar reconstruction.Demographics,etiological data,expander-related characteristics and postoperative infection were assessed.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to identify risk factors for expander infection.In addition,we conducted a sensitivity analysis for treatment failure caused by infection as an outcome.Results:A total of 2374 expanders and 148 cases of expander infection were assessed.Treatment failure caused by infection occurred in 14 expanders.Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that disease duration of≤1 year(odds ratio(OR),2.07;p<0.001),larger volume of expander(200–400ml vs<200 ml;OR,1.74;p=0.032;>400ml vs<200 ml;OR,1.76;p=0.049),limb location(OR,2.22;p=0.023)and hematoma evacuation(OR,2.17;p=0.049)were associated with a high likelihood of expander infection.Disease duration of≤1 year(OR,3.88;p=0.015)and hematoma evacuation(OR,10.35;p=0.001)were so related to high risk of treatment failure.Conclusions:The rate of expander infection in patients undergoing scar reconstruction was 6.2%.Disease duration of<1 year,expander volume of>200 ml,limb location and postoperative hematoma evacuation were independent risk factors for expander infection. | Chen Dong Minhui Zhu Luguang Huang Wei Liu Hengxin Liu Kun Jiang Zhou Yu Xianjie Ma | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 3 |
| 3 | An ethnopharmacological investigation of medicinal Salvia plants (Lamiaceae) in China显示文摘In China,over 40 species of the genus Salvia have been used as medicinal plants for various diseases,some for thousands of years.Recently,research has focused on the biological activities of Salvia medicinal plants used in traditional chinese medicine(TCM).However,to date a scientific survey of the genus Salvia in China has not been carried out.In this paper,we report the results of 10 field surveys of Salvia medicinal plants collected in 17 provinces including detailed information on their local names,growing environment,distribution and therapeutic effects.We also summarize the results of research on the materia medica,phytochemistry and pharmacology of some of the important Salvia medicinal plants.Our study reveals that 35 Salvia plants have been used in TCM in different regions of China,including 20 species used as Danshen to treat heart diseases,and 15 species used to treat a range of other conditions including gynecological diseases,muscular or skeletal problems,hepatitis,urological diseases,and mouth and eye conditions.It is clear that some species of Salvia L.possess significant pharmacological activity in the context of ethnopharmacological knowledge,especially in the treatment of heart disease.Further studies of the phytochemistry and pharmacology of Salvia species will no doubt improve their medical utilization and contribute to the development of new natural drugs. | Minhui Li Qianquan Li Chunhong Zhang Na Zhang Zhanhu Cui Luqi Huang Peigen Xiao | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,4: | 2 |
| 4 | CONSIDERING NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION IN IMAGE FUZZY CLUSTERING显示文摘Fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm is a classical non-supervised classification method.For image classification, fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm makes decisions on a pixel-by-pixel basis and does not take advantage of spatial information, regardless of the pixels' correlation. In this letter, a novel fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm is introduced, which is based on image's neighborhood system. During classification procedure, the novel algorithm regards all pixels'fuzzy membership as a random field. The neighboring pixels' fuzzy membership information is used for the algorithm's iteration procedure. | 10 | Construction of a One-Vector Multiplex CRISPR/Cas9 Editing System to Inhibit Nucleopolyhedrovirus Replication in Silkworms显示文摘Recently the developed single guide(sg)RNA-guided clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/associated protein 9 nuclease(CRISPR/Cas9) technology has opened a new avenue for antiviral therapy. The CRISPR/Cas9 system uniquely allows targeting of multiple genome sites simultaneously. However, there are relatively few applications of CRISPR/Cas9 multigene editing to target insect viruses. To address the need for sustained delivery of a multiplex CRISPR/Cas9-based genome-editing vehicle against insect viruses, we developed a one-vector(pSL1180-Cas9-U6-sgRNA) system that expresses multiple sgRNA and Cas9 protein to excise Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus(BmNPV) in insect cells.We screened the immediate-early-1 gene(ie-1), the major envelope glycoprotein gene(gp64), and the late expression factor gene(lef-11), and identified multiple sgRNA editing sites through flow cytometry and viral DNA replication analysis. In addition, we constructed a multiplex editing vector(PSL1180-Cas9-sgIE1-sgLEF11-sgGP64, sgMultiple) to efficiently regulate multiplex gene-editing and inhibit BmNPV replication after viral infection. This is the first report of the application of a multiplex CRISPR/Cas9 system to inhibit insect virus replication.
