1Bone alterations in inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBDs)are characterized by a multifactorial partially unknown etiology that involves genetic,immunological and environmental factors.Up to 50%of IBD patients experience at least one extraintestinal manifestation;among them is the involvement of bone density which is referred to as metabolic bone disease(MBD),including osteopenia and osteoporosis.Bone alterations in IBDs population appear to have a multifactorial etiology:Decreased physical activity,inflammation-related bone resorption,multiple intestinal resections,dietary malabsorption of minerals and vitamin D deficiency,genetic factors,gut-bone immune signaling interaction,steroid treatment,microbiota and pathogenic micro-organisms interaction,and dietary malabsorption of minerals,that,all together or individually,may contribute to the alteration of bone mineral density.This review aims to summarize the prevalence and pathophysiology of metabolic bone alterations in IBD subjects outlining the main risk factors of bone fragility.We also want to underline the role of the screening and prophylaxis of bone alterations in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients and the importance of treating appropriately MBD.Dolores Sgambato Francesca Gimigliano Cristiana De Musis Antimo Moretti Giuseppe Toro Emanuele Ferrante Agnese Miranda Domenico De Mauro Lorenzo Romano Giovanni Iolascon Marco Romano 2019World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,15:8
2Spectral and Energy Efficiency of Line-of-Sight OAM-MIMO Communication Systems显示文摘Not only high spectral efficiency(SE)but also high energy efficiency(EE)are required for future wireless communication systems.Radio orbital angular momentum(OAM)provides a new perspective of mode multiplexing to improve SE.However,there are few studies on the EE performance of OAM mode multiplexing.In this paper,we investigate the SE and EE of a misaligned uniform concentric circle array(UCCA)-based multi-carrier multimode OAM and multiple-input multiple-output(MCMM-OAM-MIMO)system in the line-ofsight(LoS)channel,in which two transceiver architectures implemented by radio frequency(RF)analog synthesis and baseband digital synthesis are considered.The distance and angle of arrival(AoA)estimation are utilized for channel estimation and signal detection,whose training overhead is much less than that of traditional MIMO systems.Simulation results validate that the UCCA-based MCMM-OAM-MIMO system is superior to conventional MIMOOFDM system in the EE and SE performances.Rui Chen Hong Zhou Wen-Xuan Long Marco Moretti 2020China Communications2020,17,9:6
3A Promising Technology for 6G Wireless Networks:Intelligent Refl ecting Surface显示文摘The intelligent information society,which is highly digitized,intelligence inspired,and globally data driven,will be deployed in the next decade.The next 6G wireless communication networks are the key to achieve this grand blueprint,which is expected to connect everything,provide full dimensional wireless coverage and integrate all functions to support full-vertical applications.Recent research reveals that intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)with wireless environment control capability is a promising technology for 6G networks.Specifically,IRS can intelligently control the wavefront,e.g.,the phase,amplitude,frequency,and even polarization by massive tunable elements,thus achieving fine-grained 3-D passive beamforming.In this paper,we first give a blueprint of the next 6G networks including the vision,typical scenarios,and key performance indicators(KPIs).Then,we provide an overview of IRS including the new signal model,hardware architecture,and competitive advantages in 6G networks.Besides,we discuss the potential application of IRS in the connectivity of 6G networks in detail,including intelligent and controllable wireless environment,ubiquitous connectivity,deep connectivity,and holographic connectivity.At last,we summarize the challenges of IRS application and deployment in 6G networks.As a timely review of IRS,our summary will be of interest to both researchers and practitioners engaging in IRS for 6G networks.Wenxuan Long Rui Chen Moretti Marco Wei Zhang Jiandong Li 2021Journal of Communications and Information Networks2021,6,1:2

6Broadband beam steering for misaligned multi-mode OAM communication systems显示文摘Orbital angular momentum(OAM)at radio frequency(RF)has attracted more and more attention as a novel approach of multiplexing a set of orthogonal OAM modes on the same frequency channel to achieve high spectral efficiency(SE).However,the precondition for maintaining the orthogonality among different OAM modes is perfect alignment of the transmit and receive uniform circular arrays(UCAs),which is difficult to be satisfied in practical wireless communication scenarios.Therefore,to achieve available multi-mode OAM broadband wireless communication,we first investigate the effect of oblique angles on the transmission performance of the multi-mode OAM broadband system in the non-parallel misalignment case.Then,we compare the UCA-based RF analog and baseband digital transceiver structures and corresponding beam steering schemes.Mathematical analysis and numerical simulations validate that the SE of the misaligned multi-mode OAM broadband system is quite low,while analog and digital beam steering(DBS)both can significantly improve the SE of the system.However,DBS can obtain higher SE than analog beam steering especially when the bandwidth and the number of array elements are large,which validates that the baseband digital transceiver with DBS is more suitable for multi-mode OAM broadband wireless communication systems in practice.TIAN Zhengjuan CHEN Rui LONG Wenxuan ZHOU Hong MORETTI Marco 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,4:1

11Towards an integrative approach to evaluate the environmental ecosystem services provided by urban forest显示文摘As a Nature-Based Solution,urban forests deliver a number of environmental ecosystem services(EESs).To quantify these EESs,well-defined,reliable,quantifiable and stable indicators are needed.With literature analysis and expert knowledge gathered within COST Action FP1204 GreenInUrbs,we proposed a classification of urban forest EESs into three categories:(A)regulation of air,water,soil and climate;(B)provisioning of habitat quality;and(C)provisioning of other goods and services.Each category is divided into EES types:(a)amelioration of air quality;restoration of soil and water;amelioration of the microclimate;removal of CO2 from the air;(b)provision of habitat for biodiversity;support for resilient urban ecosystems;provision of genetic diversity;and(c)provision of energy and nutrients;provision of grey infrastructure resilience.Each EES type provides one or more benefits.For each of these 12 benefits,we propose a set of indicators to be used when analyzing the impacts on the identified EESs.Around half of the 36 indicators are relevant to more than one single benefit,which highlights complex interrelationships.The indicators of wider applicability are tree and stand characteristics,followed by leaf physical traits and tree species composition.This knowledge is needed for the optimization of the EESs delivered by urban forests,now and in the future.Samson Roeland Marco Moretti Jorge Humberto Amorim Cristina Branquinho Silvano Fares Federico Morelli Ulo Niinemets Elena Paoletti Pedro Pinho Gregorio Sgrigna Vladimir Stojanovski Abhishek Tiwary Pierre Sicard Carlo Calfapietra 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,6:0
