1Use of second generation contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the assessment of focal liver lesions显示文摘Ultrasound (US) is often the first imaging modality employed in patients with suspected focal liver lesions. The role of US in the characterisation of focal liver lesions has been transformed with the introduction of specific contrast media and the development of specialized imaging techniques. Ultrasound now can fully characterise the enhancement pattern of hepatic lesions, similar to that achieved with contrast enhanced multiphasic computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). US contrast agents are safe, well-tolerated and have very few contraindications. Furthermore, real-time evaluation of the vascularity of focal liver lesions has become possible with the use of the newer microbubble contrast agents. This article reviews the enhancement pattern of the most frequent liver lesions seen, using the second generation US contrast media. The common pitfalls for each type of lesion are discussed. 2Transient elastography for the assessment of chronic liver disease: Ready for the clinic?显示文摘Transient elastography is a recently developed non- invasive technique for the assessment of hepatic fi brosis. The technique has been subject to rigorous evaluation in a number of studies in patients with chronic liver disease of varying aetiology. Transient elastography has been compared with histological assessment of percutaneous liver biopsy, with high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of cirrhosis, and has also been used to assess pre-cirrhotic disease. However, the cut-off values between different histological stages vary substantially in different studies, patient groups and aetiology of liver disease. More recent studies have examined the possible place of transient elastography in clinical practice, including risk stratifi cation for the development of complications of cirrhosis. 5黄芪多糖对过氧化氢刺激皮肤成纤维细胞中线粒体和溶酶体的保护作用(英文)显示文摘目的:证明黄芪多糖对氧化应激皮肤细胞的保护作用。方法:原代培养皮肤成纤维细胞在过氧化氢0.5 mmol/L中,孵育30 min造成急性氧化损伤的模型。MTT法测黄芪多糖的剂量反应,DAPI染色法检测黄芪多糖对细胞死亡的作用;激光共聚焦法检测黄芪多糖对线粒体、线粒体膜电位以及溶酶体稳定性的保护作用。结果:经过黄芪多糖的治疗,能够明显提高细胞存活率,其作用浓度从0.5 mg/L开始,到1 mg/L达最大效果,呈剂量依赖性。而且,黄芪多糖能够抑制线粒体膜电位崩解保护线粒体形态,保护溶酶体膜。结论:这些结果证明了黄芪多糖在线粒体和溶酶体水平存在1个新的调节凋亡的途径。这个途径可以成为一些氧化应激以及溶酶体缺陷疾病的1个新的治疗靶点。岳晓莉 李萍 刘欣 黄启福 BARBIER-CHASSEFIERE Veronique MORIN Christophe PAPY-GARCIA Dulce 2008中国病理生理杂志2008,24,4:9

8Sclareol and linalyl acetate are produced by glandular trichomes through the MEP pathway显示文摘Sclareol,an antifungal specialized metabolite produced by clary sage,Salvia sclarea,is the starting plant natural molecule used for the hemisynthesis of the perfume ingredient ambroxide.Sclareol is mainly produced in clary sage flower calyces;however,the cellular localization of the sclareol biosynthesis remains unknown.To elucidate the site of sclareol biosynthesis,we analyzed its spatial distribution in the clary sage calyx epidermis using laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging(LDI–FTICR-MSI)and investigated the expression profile of sclareol biosynthesis genes in isolated glandular trichomes(GTs).We showed that sclareol specifically accumulates in GTs’gland cells in which sclareol biosynthesis genes are strongly expressed.We next isolated a glabrous beardless mutant and demonstrate that more than 90%of the sclareol is produced by the large capitate GTs.Feeding experiments,using 1-13 C-glucose,and specific enzyme inhibitors further revealed that the methylerythritol-phosphate(MEP)biosynthetic pathway is the main source of isopentenyl diphosphate(IPP)precursor used for the biosynthesis of sclareol.Our findings demonstrate that sclareol is an MEP-derived diterpene produced by large capitate GTs in clary sage emphasing the role of GTs as biofactories dedicated to the production of specialized metabolites.Camille Chalvin Stephanie Drevensek Françoise Gilard Caroline Mauve Christel Chollet Halima Morin Edith Nicol Eva Heripre Lucie Kriegshauser Bertrand Gakiere Michel Dron Abdelhafid Bendahmane Adnane Boualem 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2

12A comparison of the relative efficiency of ICSI and extended culture with epididymal sperm versus testicular sperm in patients with obstructive azoospermia显示文摘This is a retrospective cohort study comparing blastocyst transfer outcomes following intracytoplasmic sperm injection utilizing epididymal versus testicular sperm for men with obstructive azoospermia.All cases at a single center between 2012 and 2016 were included.Operative approach was selected at the surgeon’s discretion and included microepididymal sperm aspiration or testicular sperm extraction.Blastocyst culture was exclusively utilized prior to transfer.The primary outcome was live birth rate.Secondary outcomes included fertilization rate,blastulation rate,euploidy rate,and implantation rate.A mixed effects model was performed.Seventy-six microepididymal sperm aspiration cases and 93 testicular sperm extraction cases were analyzed.The live birth rate was equivalent(48.6%vs 50.5%,P=0.77).However,on mixed effects model,epididymal sperm resulted in a greater likelihood of fertilization(adjusted OR:1.37,95%CI:1.05–1.81,P=0.02)and produced a higher blastulation rate(adjusted OR:1.41,95%CI:1.1–1.85,P=0.01).As a result,the epididymal sperm group had more supernumerary blastocysts available(4.3 vs 3,P<0.05).The euploidy rate was no different.Pregnancy rates were no different through the first transfer cycle.However,intracytoplasmic sperm injection following microepididymal sperm aspiration resulted in a greater number of usable blastocysts per patient.Thus,the true benefit of epididymal sperm may only be demonstrated via a comparison of cumulative pregnancy rates after multiple transfers from one cohort.Scott J Morin Brent M Hanson Caroline R Juneau Shelby A Neal Jessica N Landis Richard T Scott Jr James M Hotaling 2020Asian Journal of Andrology2020,22,2:2

14Modeling and implementation of tandem polymer solar cells using wide-bandgap front cells显示文摘Tandem device architectures offer a route to greatly increase the maximum possible power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)of polymer solar cells,however,the complexity of tandem cell device fabrication(such as selecting bandgaps of the front and back cells,current matching,thickness,and recombination layer optimization)often result in lower PCEs than are observed in single-junction devices.In this study,we analyze the influence of front cell and back cell bandgaps and use transfer matrix modeling to rationally design and optimize effective tandem solar cell structures before actual device fabrication.Our approach allows us to estimate tandem device parameters based on known absorption coefficients and open-circuit voltages of different active layer materials and design devices without wasting valuable time and materials.Using this approach,we have investigated a series of wide bandgap,high voltage photovoltaic polymers as front cells in tandem devices with PTB7-Th as a back cell.In this way,we have been able to demonstrate tandem devices with PCE of up to 12.8%with minimal consumption of valuable photoactive materials in tandem device optimization.This value represents one of the highest PCE values to date for fullerene-based tandem solar cells.Seo-Jin Ko Hyosung Choi Quoc Viet Hoang Chang Eun Song Pierre-Olivier Morin Jungwoo Heo Mario Leclerc Sung Cheol Yoon Han Young Woo Won Suk Shin Bright Walker Jin Young Kim 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,1:2

19Vanadium-dependent activation of glucose transport in adipocytes by catecholamines is not mediated via adrenoceptor stimulation or monoamine oxidase activity显示文摘BACKGROUND Benzylamine and methylamine activate glucose uptake in adipocytes.For tyramine,this effect has even been extended to cardiomyocytes.AIM To investigate the effects of catecholamines and other amines on glucose uptake.METHODS A screening compared 25 biogenic amines on 2-deoxyglucose(2-DG)uptake activation in rat adipocytes.Pharmacological approaches and transgenic mouse models were then used to decipher the mode of action of several hits.RESULTS In rat adipocytes,insulin stimulation of 2-DG uptake was reproduced with catecholamines.100μmol/L or 1 mmol/L adrenaline,noradrenaline,dopamine and deoxyepinephrine,maximally activated hexose transport only when sodium orthovanadate was added at 100μmol/L.Such activation was similar to that already reported for benzylamine,methylamine and tyramine,well-recognized substrates of semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase(SSAO)and monoamine oxidase(MAO).Several,but not all,tested agonists ofβ-adrenoreceptors(β-ARs)also activated glucose transport whileα-AR agonists were inactive.Lack of blockade byα-andβ-AR antagonists indicated that catecholamine-induced 2-DG uptake was not mediated by AR stimulation.Adipocytes from mice lackingβ1-,β2-andβ3-ARs(triple KO)also responded to millimolar doses of adrenaline or noradrenaline by activating hexose transport in the presence of 100μmol/L vanadate.The MAO blocker pargyline,and SSAO inhibitors did not block the effects of adrenaline or noradrenaline plus vanadate,which were blunted by antioxidants.CONCLUSION Catecholamines exert unexpected insulin-like actions in adipocytes when combined with vanadium.For limiting insulin resistance by activating glucose consumption at least in fat stores,we propose that catecholamine derivatives combined with vanadium can generate novel complexes that may have low toxicity and promising anti-diabetic properties.Jessica Fontaine Geneviève Tavernier Nathalie Morin Christian Carpéné 2020World Journal of Diabetes2020,11,12:2
