| 1 | Properties and Applications of Bamboo Fiber—A Current-State-of-the Art显示文摘Fibers are used in many forms in engineering applications–one of the most common being used as reinforcement.Due to its renewable short natural growth cycle and abundance of bamboo resources,bamboo fiber has attracted attention over other natural fibers.Bamboo fiber has a complex natural structure but offers excellent mechanical properties,which are utilized in the textile,papermaking,construction,and composites industry.However,bam-boo fibers can easily absorb moisture and are prone to corrosion limiting their use in engineering applications.Therefore,a better understanding of bamboo fiber is particularly important.This paper reviews all existing research on the mechanical characterization of bamboo fiber with an emphasis on the extraction and treatment techniques,and their effect on relevant properties.The chemical composition of bamboo fibers has also been thoroughly investigated and presented herein.Current applications and future opportunities for bamboo fibers in various fields have been presented with a focus on research needs.This work can serve as a reference for future research on bamboo fiber. | Chen Chen Haitao Li Assima Dauletbek Feng Shen David Hui Milan Gaff Rodolfo Lorenzo Ileana Corbi Ottavia Corbi Mahmud Ashraf | 2022 | Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,3: | 3 |

| 3 | A Review of Basic Mechanical Behavior of Laminated Bamboo Lumber显示文摘Over the past decade,the physical and mechanical performances of laminated bamboo lumber(LBL)–a bamboo-based structural material,have been extensively studied using experimental,analytical,and numerical approaches.This paper presents a review of existing knowledge in the literature about the mechanical properties of LBL.The paper involved the review of the response of LBL to different types of loading such as tension,bending,compres-sion,and shear.Based on results of the literature reviewed,the strength of LBL parallel to grain was 90–124 MPa with MOE of 10700 MPa in tension,29.55–72.60 MPa,and MOE of 8396–11022 MPa in compression,63.87–128.4 MPa,and MOE of 8320–10912 MPa in bending,and 7.15–17.5 MPa in shear.The average strength of LBL was similar and in some cases exceeded the average values of bamboo-or wood-based materials,while the variability of its mechanical parameters was lower.The variability in strength values of LBL was affected by bamboo species,density and thickness of bamboo strips,growth portion,type of treatment,strips arrange-ments,and type of adhesive which in turn calls for classification of LBL by strength grades,degree of hardness,the capability of impregnation and penetration,as well as by areas of application in construction.The study pro-vided and discussed concluding observations,the current research gap,and future research directions on the mechanical properties of LBL. | Assima Dauletbek Haitao Li Rodolfo Lorenzo Ileana Corbi Ottavia Corbi Mahmud Ashraf | 2022 | Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,2: | 2 |

| 18 | Ritanserin blocks CaV1.2 channels in rat artery smooth muscles: electrophysiological, functional, and computational studies显示文摘CaV1.2 channel blockers or 5-HT2 receptor antagonists constitute effective therapy for Raynaud’s syndrome.A functional link between the inhibition of 5-HT2 receptors and CaV1.2 channel blockade in arterial smooth muscles has been hypothesized.Therefore,the effects of ritanserin,a nonselective 5-HT2 receptor antagonist,on vascular CaV1.2 channels were investigated through electrophysiological,functional,and computational studies.Ritanserin blocked CaV1.2 channel currents(ICa1.2)in a concentration-dependent manner(Kr=3.61µM);ICa1.2 inhibition was antagonized by Bay K 8644 and partially reverted upon washout.Conversely,the ritanserin analog ketanserin(100µM)inhibited ICa1.2 by^50%.Ritanserin concentration-dependently shifted the voltage dependence of the steady-state inactivation curve to more negative potentials(Ki=1.58µM)without affecting the slope of inactivation and the activation curve,and decreased ICa1.2 progressively during repetitive(1 Hz)step depolarizations(use-dependent block).The addition of ritanserin caused the contraction of single myocytes not yet dialyzed with the conventional method.Furthermore,in depolarized rings,ritanserin,and to a lesser extent,ketanserin,caused a concentration-dependent relaxation,which was antagonized by Bay K 8644.Ritanserin and ketanserin were docked at a region of the CaV1.2α1C subunit nearby that of Bay K 8644;however,only ritanserin and Bay K 8644 formed a hydrogen bond with key residue Tyr-1489.In conclusion,ritanserin caused in vitro vasodilation,accomplished through the blockade of CaV1.2 channels,which was achieved preferentially in the inactivated and/or resting state of the channel.This novel activity encourages the development of ritanserin derivatives for their potential use in the treatment of Raynaud’s syndrome. | Fabio Fusi Alfonso Trezza Giampietro Sgaragli Ottavia Spiga Simona Saponara Sergio Bova | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,9: | 0 |

| 20 | Complexation of As(Ⅲ)by phosphonate ligands in aqueous fluids:Thermodynamic behavior,chemical binding forms and sequestering abilities显示文摘In recent years,the contamination of water by arsenic reached alarming levels in many countries of the world,attracting the interest of many researchers engaged in testing methodologies able to remove this harmful pollutant.An important aspect that must be taken into consideration is the possibility to find arsenic in different chemical forms which could require different approaches for its removal.At this aim,a speciation analysis appears to be crucial for better understanding the behavior of arsenic species in aqueous solutions,especially in presence of compounds with marked chelating properties.Phosphonates can be identified as good sequestering agents and,at this purpose,this manuscript intends to investigate the interaction of As(Ⅲ)with three phosphonic acids derived from nitrilotriacetic acid(NTA)by replacements of one(N-(Phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid,NTAP),two(N,N-Bis-(phosphonomethyl)glycine,NTA2P)and three(Nitrilotri(methylphosphonic acid),NTA3P)carboxylic groups with the same number of phosphonate groups.An in-depth potentiometric and calorimetric investigation allowed to determine speciation models featured by simple ML,MLH i and ML(OH)species.A complete thermodynamic characterization of the systems is reported together with the definition of coordination mode by mass spectrometry measurements.On the light of the speciation models,the possibility of using these ligands in arsenic removal techniques was assessed by determining the pL 0.5(the concentration of ligand able to remove the 50%of metal ion present in trace).All ligands show a good sequestering ability,in particular under the conditions of fresh water,following the trend NTA3P>NTA2P>NTAP. | Donatella Chillè Donatella Aiello Giuseppa Ida Grasso Ottavia Giuffrè Anna Napoli Carmelo Sgarlata Claudia Foti | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,8: | 0 |
