2China National Medical Products Administration approval summary:anlotinib for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer after two lines of chemotherapy显示文摘Background:On May 8,2018,the China National Medical Products Administration(NMPA)approved anlotinib,an orally administered anti-angiogenesis inhibitor,for the treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung can-cer(NSCLC)who have progressed after treatment with two or more lines of prior systemic chemotherapy.Main body of the abstract:China NMPA reviewed and inspected a regional double-blinded,placebo-controlled,Phase III trial comparing the overall survival(OS)of NSCLC patients between the anlotinib and placebo arms.A total of 437 patients were randomized(2:1)to receive either anlotinib(n=294)or placebo(n=143)once daily on a 2-week on and 1-week off schedule.Patients with epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)or activating anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)genomic tumor aberrations should have disease progression on NMPA-approved therapy.Anlotinib is the first NMPA-approved drug for patients with advanced NSCLC who have progressed on at least two lines of prior systemic chemotherapies in China.The approval was based on a statistically and clinically significant improvement in median OS with anlotinib(9.46 months)compared with placebo[6.37 months;hazard ratio(HR])=0.70,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.55-0.89;two-sided log-rank P=0.002].The confirmed objective response rate(ORR)was 9.2%in the anlotinib arm and 0.7%in the placebo arm.The median duration of response(DoR)was 4.83 months,with a 95%CI of 3.31-6.97 months.The toxicity profile of anlotinib was consistent with that of known anti-angiogenesis inhibitors.Common adverse drug reactions(ADRs)in anlotinib-treated patients included hypertension(67.4%),hand-foot syndrome(43.9%),hemoptysis(14.0%),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)elevation(46.6%),and corrected QT interval(QTc)prolongation(26.2%).Short conclusion:Anlotinib demonstrated a clinically significant OS prolongation as a novel therapeutic option for advanced or metastatic NSCLC following at least two lines of chemotherapy.Ming Zhou Xiaoyuan Chen Hong Zhang Lin Xia Xin Tong Limin Zou Ruimin Hao Jianhong Pan Xiao Zhao Dongmei Chen Yuanyuan Song Yueli Qi Ling Tang Zhifang Liu Rong Gao Yuankai Shi Zhimin Yang 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:35
3Caveolin-1,E-cadherin and β-catenin in Gastric Carcinoma,Precancerous Tissues and Chronic Non-atrophic Gastritis显示文摘Objective:To investigate the expressions of caveolin-1,E-cadherin and β-catenin in gastric carcinoma,precancerous gastric and chronic non-atrophic gastritis tissues,and evaluate the correlation of these expressions with the development of gastric cancer.Methods:The expressions of caveolin-1,E-cadherin and β-catenin were detected by biotin-streptavidin-peroxidase(SP) immunohistochemistry on 58 gastric cancer tissues,40 precancerous gastric tissues and 42 chronic non-atrophic gastritis tissues.The correlation between the expressions of caveolin-1,E-cadherin and β-catenin,and the clinicopathologic parameters of gastric cancer was analyzed retrospectively.Results:The positive rates of caveolin-1 and E-cadherin expressions in gastric carcinoma were significantly lower than precancerous gastric and chronic non-atrophic gastritis tissues(P<0.01).An abnormal rate of β-catenin expression in gastric carcinoma was higher than precancerous gastric and chronic non-atrophic gastritis tissues(P<0.01).Moreover,low expressions of caveolin-1,E-cadherin and β-catenin correlated with tumor size,depth of invasion,lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(P<0.05).The positive rates of caveolin-1 and E-cadherin expressions decreased(P<0.01),while an abnormal rate of β-catenin expression increased inversely,with the degree of atypical hyperplasia(P<0.01).Caveolin-1 expression correlated positively with E-cadherin(r=0.41,P<0.05).Caveolin-1(r= 0.36,P<0.05) and E-cadherin(r= 0.45,P<0.05) expressions negatively correlated with abnormal β-catenin expression.Conclusion: These results suggested that dysregulated expressions of caveolin‐1, E‐cadherin and β‐catenin correlated with the development of gastric cancer and its biological behavior.Guo-yang Sun Jun-xia Wu Jian-sheng Wu Yu-ting Pan Rong Jin 2012Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2012,24,1:30

5Outcomes and possible risk factors associated with axis alignment and rotational stability after implantation of the Toric implantable collamer lens for high myopic astigmatism显示文摘·AIM:To assess the visual outcomes and possible risk factors associated with axis alignment and rotational stability after implantation of Toric implantable collamer lens (TICL) for the correction of high myopic astigmatism. ·METHODS:In this prospective, nonrandomized clinical study, 54 consecutive eyes of 29 patients with high myopic astigmatism received TICL implantation. To evaluate postoperative axis deviation from the intended axis, a digital anterior segment photograph was taken. The ultrasound biomicroscopy(UBM) was used to observe footplate-position. ·RESULTS:After mean follow-up of 8.6 months, mean manifest refractive cylinder (MRC) decreased 79.3% from (-1.88±1.49)D preoperatively to (0.39±0.61)D postoperatively. MRC within 1.00D occurred in 68.5% (37/54) of eyes, whereas 48.1% (26/54) had MRC within 0.50D. Mean manifest refraction spherical equivalent (MRSE) changed from (-12.08±4.22)D preoperatively to (-0.41±0.61)D postoperatively. Uncorrected binocular vision of 20/20 or better occurred in 72.2%(39/54) of patients compared with binocular best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20/20 or better in 44.4% (24/54) preoperatively. The mean difference between intended and achieved TICL axes was (6.96±8.37)°. Footplates of TICLs were in the ciliary sulcus in 22 eyes (46.3%), below the ciliary sulcus in 32 eyes (53.7%). The angle of TICL rotation had significant correlation with the footplates-position (t =2.127; P =0.045) and the postoperative TICL vaulting (r =-0.516; P =0.000). ·CONCLUSION:The results of our study further support the safety, efficacy and predictability of TICL for the correct high myopic astigmatism. 6Rhizobacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strain SQRT3-Mediated Induced Systemic Resistance Controls Bacterial Wilt of Tomato显示文摘Tomato bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum seriously threats tomato growth in tropical and temperate regions around the world.This study reported an antagonistic bacterial strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain SQRT3, isolated from the rhizosphere soil of tomato plants, which strongly inhibited in vitro growth of pathogenic R.solanacearum.The suppression of tomato bacterial wilt by strain SQRT3 was demonstrated under greenhouse conditions.Additionally, induced systemic resistance(ISR) in tomato as one of the potential disease suppression mechanisms was investigated in the plants inoculated with the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3.The results showed that strain SQRT3 applied with R.solanacearum by drenching significantly reduced tomato bacterial wilt by 68.1% biocontrol efficiency(BE) and suppressed the R.solanacearum populations in the rhizosphere soil compared to the control only drenched with R.solanacearum.The BE of the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3 against tomato wilt increased to 84.1%by root-dipping.Tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum showed increases in activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase compared with other treatments.The application of strain SQRT3 reduced membrane lipid peroxidation in tomato leaves.The expressions of marker genes for jasmonic acid-and salicylic acid-dependent signaling pathways were faster and stronger in tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum than in plants treated with either R.solanacearum or strain SQRT3 alone.Collectively, the findings indicated that strain SQRT3 can effectively control tomato wilt.LI Chunyu HU Weicong PAN Bin LIU Yan YUAN Saifei DING Yuanyuan LI Rong ZHENG Xinyan SHEN Biao SHEN Qirong 2017Pedosphere2017,27,6:18

10Study on gastric cancer blood plasma based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy combined with multivariate analysis显示文摘A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method combined with multivariate analysis was developed for non-invasive gastric cancer detection. SERS measurements were performed on two groups of blood plasma samples: one group from 32 gastric patients and the other group from 33 healthy volunteers. Tentative assignments of the Raman bands in the measured SERS spectra suggest interesting cancer-specific biomolecular changes, including an increase in the relative amounts of nucleic acid, collagen, phospholipids and phenylalanine and a decrease in the percentage of amino acids and saccharide in the blood plasma of gastric cancer patients as compared with those of healthy subjects. Principal components analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were employed to develop effective diagnostic algorithms for classification of SERS spectra between normal and cancer plasma with high sensitivity (79.5%) and specificity (91%). A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was employed to assess the accuracy of diagnostic algorithms based on PCA-LDA. 12The Genetic Architecture of Flowering Time and Photoperiod Sensitivity in Maize as Revealed by QTL Review and Meta Analysis显示文摘The control of flowering is not only important for reproduction,but also plays a key role in the processes of domestication and adaptation.To reveal the genetic architecture for flowering time and photoperiod sensitivity,a comprehensive evaluation of the relevant literature was performed and followed by meta analysis.A total of 25 synthetic consensus quantitative trait loci(QTL)and four hot-spot genomic regions were identified for photoperiod sensitivity including 11 genes related to photoperiod response or flower morphogenesis and development.Besides,a comparative analysis of the QTL for flowering time and photoperiod sensitivity highlighted the regions containing shared and unique QTL for the two traits.Candidate genes associated with maize flowering were identified through integrated analysis of the homologous genes for flowering time in plants and the consensus QTL regions for photoperiod sensitivity in maize(Zea mays L.).Our results suggest that the combination of literature review,meta-analysis and homologous blast is an efficient approach to identify new candidate genes and create a global view of the genetic architecture for maize photoperiodic flowering.Sequences of candidate genes can be used to develop molecular markers for various models of marker-assisted selection,such as marker-assisted recurrent selection and genomic selection that can contribute significantly to crop environmental adaptation.Jie Xu Yaxi Liu Jian Liu Moju Cao Jing Wang Hai Lan Yunbi Xu Yanli Lu Guangtang Pan Tingzhao Rong 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,6:14

14Expressions of chromogranin A and cathepsin D in human primary hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM To determine the expression and clinicalsignificance of chromogranin A and cathepsin Din hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS Double immunofluorescence stain-ing techniques combined with laser confocalscanning microscopy(LSCM)was used toinvestigate chromogranin A and cathepsin Dexpressions in 85 HCC patients.RESULTS Cathepsin D was expressed in :3normal liver tissues,while in HCC the stainingshowed regional variation and the fraction ofstrongly stained cells increased as the tumorsbecame less differentiated and usually clinicallymore malignant.Cells which showed strongpositivity for cathepsin D were present in 71/85(83.5%)cases.Strong expression of cathepsinD in cancer cells was related tohistopathological features.They were morecommon in grade 3-4(26/28,92.9%)and grade2(46/53,86.8%)tumors than in grade 1 tumors(1/4,25.0%)(P<0.01).No significantcorrelation was found between age andcathepsin D expression.In patients with positivecathepsin D reaction,the mean age was 52.1±2.8 years(range 32-68 years)and in the groupwith negative reaction,the mean age was 51.3±4.5 years(range 28-71 years).No obvious relationship was observed between CgAexpression in cancer cells and thehistopathological features.The CgA positiverate was 75.0%(3/4)in grade 1,71.7%(38/53)in grade 2,and 71.4%(20/28)in grade 3-4(P>0.05)tumors.The coexpression of CgA andcathepsin D was found by double labeledimmunofluorescence staining techniques.Theprocessing of cathepsin D was disturbed in HCCcells and accumulated in the cells.Cathepsin Dhad proteolytic activity and autocrine mitogeniceffect,suggesting their functions in invasion.These findings demonstrated that the expressionof cathepsin D in HCC had prognostic value.CONCLUSION Chromogranin A and cathepsin Dare expressed in a high proportion of HCC andthe existence of cathepsin D in HCC might berelated to processing of CgA.This is clearly asubject for further studies because of itspotential clinical applications.Xiao Feng Huang Chun Mei Wang Xiao Wen Dai Zhen Jiang Li Bo Rong Pan Li Bin Yu Bin Qian Li Fang 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,5:12
15Developmental Changes of the LPL mRNA Expression and Its Effect on IMF Content in Sheep Muscle显示文摘This study investigates the developmental changes of the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) mRNA level in sheep muscle and its effect on intramuscular fat (IMF) accumulation. Male Kazak and Xinjiang Merino sheep at 2-120 days old were selected. Six animals of each breed were slaughtered at 2,30,60,90,and 120 days (only the Xinjiang Merino sheep at 120-day old were available) to collect samples from longissimus dorsi muscle for the purpose of determining the IMF content and extracting total RNA that was used to investigate the developmental changes of the LPL mRNA expression by real-time PCR. The results showed that in male Kazak sheep,the IMF content increased with the progress of development and there were significant differences (P < 0.05) between the age groups. However,there was no difference (P > 0.05) between age groups in Xinjiang Merino sheep. Furthermore,the IMF content of the male Kazak sheep was significantly higher (P < 0.01) than that of the Xinjiang Merino sheep aged from 30 to 90 days. The highest LPL mRNA expression appeared at day 2 and it was significantly higher than that of all other age groups (P < 0.01),while animals at 60-day old had the lowest LPL mRNA expression in the male Kazak sheep. In Xinjiang Merino sheep,the highest one occurred at 30-day old (P < 0.01),followed by a continuous decrease to the lowest level at 90-day old,and then it started to increase slightly. 17Effects of pH and soil texture on the adsorption and transport of Cd in soils显示文摘To better understand the adsorption and transport of Cd2+ in soils, column experiments were conducted with various soils and inflow solutions with different pH values. Breakthrough curves (BTCs) of the column tests were fitted using both the equilibrium and non-equilibrium models installed in the program of CXTFIT. Results showed that the equilibrium model fitted most of BTCs reasonably well. Values of the retardation factor (R) and the distribution coefficient (kd) for Cd2+ adsorption and transport increased with increasing pH values of the inflow solution and of the soil. However, the clay content was not a key factor to affect R and kd for Cd2+ adsorption and transport. Landraces显示文摘A field trial was conducted to investigate main morphological and physiological changes of different maize landraces to low-P stress at the stage of seedling. P-deficiency significantly decreased root volume, total leaf area, and plant dry weight, but greatly increased density of root hairs and root top ratio. In addition, P-deficiency induced the significant enhancement of phosphorus utilization efficiency and the amount of proline, malondialdehye (MDA), acid phosphatase (APase), peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), but the significant reduction of P uptake and soluable protein content. Since P-deficiency had smaller effects on the P-tolerant maize landraces DP-44, DP-32 and DP-33 as compared with P-sensitive landraces DP-29 and DP-24, it was demonstrated that differences of tolerance to P-deficiency existed among different maize landraces. 19Successful robotic radical resection of hepatic echinococcosis located in posterosuperior liver segments显示文摘BACKGROUND Radical resection is an important treatment method for hepatic echinococcosis.The posterosuperior segments of the liver remain the most challenging region for laparoscopic or robotic hepatectomy.AIM To demonstrate the safety and preliminary experience of robotic radical resection of cystic and alveolar echinococcosis in posterosuperior liver segments.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 5 patients with a median age of 37 years(21-56 years)with cystic and alveolar echinococcosis in difficult liver lesions admitted to two centers from September to December 2019.The surgical methods included total pericystectomy,segmental hepatectomy,or hemihepatectomy.RESULTS Among the 5 patients,4 presented with cystic echinococcosis and 1 presented with alveolar echinococcosis,all of whom underwent robotic radical operation successfully without conversion to laparotomy.Total caudate lobectomy was performed in 2 cases,hepatectomy of segment Ⅶ in 1 case,total pericystectomy of segment Ⅷ in 1 case,and right hemihepatectomy in 1 case.Operation time was 225 min(175-300 min);blood loss was 100 mL(50-600 mL);and postoperative hospital stay duration was 10 d(5-19 d).The Clavien-Dindo complication grade was Ⅰ in 4 cases and Ⅱ in 1 case.No recurrence of echinococcosis was found in any patient at the 3 mo of follow-up.CONCLUSION Robotic radical surgery for cystic and selected alveolar echinococcosis in posterosuperior liver segments is safe and feasible.Zhi-Ming Zhao Zhu-Zeng Yin Yuan Meng Nan Jiang Zhi-Gang Ma Li-Chao Pan Xiang-Long Tan Xiong Chen Rong Liu 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,21:7
