1Liver fibrosis and hepatic stellate cells: Etiology, pathological hallmarks and therapeutic targets显示文摘Liver fibrosis is a reversible wound-healing process aimed at maintaining organ integrity, and presents as the critical pre-stage of liver cirrhosis, which will eventually progress to hepatocellular carcinoma in the absence of liver transplantation. Fibrosis generally results from chronic hepatic injury caused by various factors, mainly viral infection, schistosomiasis, and alcoholism; however, the exact pathological mechanisms are still unknown. Although numerous drugs have been shown to have antifibrotic activity in vitro and in animal models, none of these drugs have been shown to be efficacious in the clinic. Importantly, hepatic stellate cells(HSCs) play a key role in the initiation, progression, and regression of liver fibrosis by secreting fibrogenic factors that encourage portal fibrocytes, fibroblasts, and bone marrow-derived myofibroblasts to produce collagen and thereby propagate fibrosis. These cells are subject to intricate cross-talk with adjacent cells, resulting in scarring and subsequent liver damage. Thus, an understanding of the molecular mechanisms of liver fibrosis and their relationships with HSCs is essential for the discovery of new therapeutic targets. 3Regional Tectonic Transformation in East Kunlun Orogenic Belt in Early Paleozoic: Constraints from the Geochronology and Geochemistry of Helegangnaren Alkali-feldspar Granite显示文摘The Helegangnaren feldspar granite exposed in the eastern part of East Kunlun, is characterized by high concentrations of SiO2 and alkaline, low abundances of Fe, Mg and Ca, metaluminous-weak peraluminous. Trace elements analysis shows that the granite is depleted extremely in Ba, Sr and Eu, and rich in some large-ion lithophile elements and high field strength elements. Besides, the granite has high Ga contents, the values of 104 (Ga/Al) vary from 2.50 to 2.77, which is mainly greater than the lower limit of A-type granites (2.6), and is higher than the I-and S-type granites' average (2.1 and 2.28, respectively). Rare earth element (REE) is characterized by relatively high fractionations of light REE (LREE) and heavy REE (HREE) (LREE/HREE=9.3-13.60, (La/Yb)N =10.92-18.02), pronounced negative Eu anomalies (δEu=0.08-0.13), and exhibits right-dipping gull pattern. Major elements, rare elements and trace elements features show the granite is ascribed to A-type granite and A2 subtype in tectonic genetic type. They are plotted into post-collision or within-plate area in a variety of tectonic discriminations. Geological and geochemical data comprehensively suggest that the granite is formed in a post-collision extensive tectonic setting. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) zircon U-Pb dating yields a weighted mean age of 425 Ma, belonging to Middle Silurian, which is similar to the age of the post-collision geological events in the region. 4Cervical Infection of Oncogenic Human Papillomavirus(HPV) Types in Beijing,China显示文摘Objective This study was designed to determine the prevalence of oncogenic human papillomavirus(HPV) in cervical infections in Beijing,China,and to investigate the odds ratio(OR) of HPV single and multiple infections in abnormal cytology.Methods A total of 19,018 specimens from outpatients in the department of obstetric and gynecology were collected.They were detected using high-risk HPV genotyping real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) kit and analyzed by ThinP rep cytology test for cervical pathological diagnosis.HPV prevalence,age-specific prevalence,and OR of each type of HPV in abnormal cytology were analyzed.Results Overall,19.1%(3,623/19,018) of the individuals were positive for HPV infection,14.9%(2,833/19,018) were positive for a single HPV type,and 4.2%(790/19,018) were positive for multiple types.Among the 3,623 HPV-positive individuals,the most predominant HPV types were HPV52(4.4%,834/19,018),HPV16(3.7%,710/19,018),and HPV58(3.4%,644/19,018).The OR of multiple infections and single infection differed significantly among disease severities.The OR of dual infection was higher than that of each of the two single infection types,respectively.Conclusion HPV prevalence in the outpatients was 19.1%,and the most predominant HPV types in the study were HPV52,HPV16,and HPV58.Women with multiple infectionswere more likely to have abnormal cytology.LI Ying HUANG Ke JI Pei Li SONG Lei LIU Hong Tu 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,10:22
5Effects of sodium ferulate on preventing steroid-induced femoral head osteonecrosis in rabbits显示文摘The aim of this study is to investigate the effects and possible mechanisms of sodium ferulate (SF) on anti-apoptosis in steroid-induced femoral head osteonecrosis in rabbits. Japanese white rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (control group, treatment group, and model group), each with 24 rabbits. The model and treatment groups were first injected with an intravenous dose of horse serum, 10 ml/kg, three weeks later with an intravenous dose of 7.5 ml/kg, and two weeks later with an intramuscular dose of methylprednisolone, 45 mg/kg, three times in order to establish rabbit models of osteonecrosis. Concurrently, the treatment group was injected with intravenous doses of SF 20 mg/kg for two weeks, once per day. Three time points, Weeks 2, 4, and 8, were selected after modeling was completed. Osteonecrosis was verified by histopathology with haematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. The apoptosis rate of osteonecrosis was observed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay. The apoptosis expressions of caspase-3 and Bcl-2 were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. The rabbit models of osteonecrosis were successfully established and observed by HE staining. SF was effective in intervening in apoptosis and decreasing the apoptosis rate in femoral head necrosis by the immunohistochemistry and TUNEL assay (P<0.01). Western blot analysis indicated that there were statistical significances in the protein levels of caspase-3 and Bcl-2 (P<0.01). 6Craniocerebral injury promotes the repair of peripheral nerve injury显示文摘The increase in neurotrophic factors after craniocerebral injury has been shown to promote fracture healing. Moreover, neurotrophic factors play a key role in the regeneration and repair of peripheral nerve. However, whether craniocerebral injury alters the repair of peripheral nerve injuries remains poorly understood. Rat injury models were established by transecting the left sciatic nerve and using a free-fall device to induce craniocerebral injury. Compared with sciatic nerve injury alone after 6–12 weeks, rats with combined sciatic and craniocerebral injuries showed decreased sciatic functional index, increased recovery of gastrocnemius muscle wet weight, recovery of sciatic nerve ganglia and corresponding spinal cord segment neuron morphologies, and increased numbers of horseradish peroxidase-labeled cells. 8Paleo-Tethyan Oceanic Crust Subduction in the Eastern Section of the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt:Geochronology and Petrogenesis of the Qushi'ang Granodiorite显示文摘The Qushi'ang granodiorite(QSG) is located at the central east of the ophiolitic melange belt in the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt(EKOB) in the northern margin of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. LA-MC-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb dating suggests that the granodiorite and mafic microgranular enclaves(MMEs) crystallized 246.61±0.62 and 245.45±0.9 Ma ago, respectively. Granodiorite, porphyritic diorite, and MMEs are metaluminous and medium-K calk-alkaline series, with island-arc magma features, such as LILE enrichment and HFSE depletion. The porphyritic diorite has high Cr(13.50 ppm to 59.01 ppm), Ni(228.53 ppm to 261.29 ppm), and Mg~#(46–54). Granodiorite and porphyritic diorite have similar mineral compositions and evolved major and trace elements contents, particularly Cr and Ni, both of which are significantly higher than that in granites of the same period. The crystallization age of MMEs is close to that of granodiorite, and their major and trace elements contents are in-between porphyritic diorite and granodiorite. The results suggest that the original mafic magma, which was the product of mantle melting by subduction process, intruded into the lower crust(Kuhai Rock Group), resulting in the formation of granodiorite. Countinous intrusion of mafic magma into the unconsolidated granodiorite formed MMEs and porphyritic diorite. The granodiorite reformed by late-stage strike-slip faulting tectonic event indicates that the strike-slip fault of Middle Kunlun and the collision of the Bayanhar block with East Kunlun were later than 246 Ma. 9Effects of viral infection and microbial diversity on patients with sepsis:A retrospective study based on metagenomic next-generation sequencing显示文摘BACKGROUND: The study aims to investigate the performance of a metagenomic next-generationsequencing (NGS)-based diagnostic technique for the identifi cation of potential bacterial and viral infectionsand eff ects of concomitant viral infection on the survival rate of intensive care unit (ICU) sepsis patients.METHODS: A total of 74 ICU patients with sepsis who were admitted to our institution from February1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 were enrolled. Separate blood samples were collected from patients for bloodcultures and metagenomic NGS when the patients’ body temperature was higher than 38 °C. Patients’demographic data, including gender, age, ICU duration, ICU scores, and laboratory results, were recorded.The correlations between pathogen types and sepsis severity and survival rate were evaluated.RESULTS: NGS produced higher positive results (105 of 118;88.98%) than blood cultures(18 of 118;15.25%) over the whole study period. Concomitant viral infection correlated closelywith sepsis severity and had the negative effect on the survival of patients with sepsis. However,correlation analysis indicated that the bacterial variety did not correlate with the severity of sepsis.CONCLUSIONS: Concurrent viral load correlates closely with the severity of sepsis and thesurvival rate of the ICU sepsis patients. 10Geochemical Features, Age, and Tectonic Significance of the Kekekete Mafic-ultramafic Rocks, East Kunlun Orogen, China显示文摘The Kekekete mafic-ultramafic rocks are exposed in the Kekesha-Kekekete-Dawate area,which are in the eastern part of the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt.It outcrops as tectonic slices intruding tectonically in the Paleoproterozoic Baishahe Group and the Paleozoic Nachitai Group.The Kekekete mafic and ultramafic rocks is located near the central fault in East Kunlun and lithologically mainly consists of serpentinite,augite peridotite,and gabbro.The LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb age of the gabbro is 501±7 Ma,indicating that Kekekete mafic-ultramafic rocks formed in the Middle Cambrian.This rock assemblage is relatively poor in SiO2 and(Na2 O+K2 O) but rich in MgO and SFeO.The chondrite-normalized REE patterns of the gabbro dip slightly to the right;the primitive mantle and MORBnormalized spidergrams of trace elements show enrichment of large-ion lithophile elements(Cs,Rb,Ba,etc.) and no differentiation of high field strength elements.The general dominance of E-MORB features and the geochemical characteristics of OIB suggest that the Kekekete mafic-ultramafic rocks formed in an initial oceanic basin with slightly enriched mantle being featured by varying degrees of mixing of N-MORB depleted mantle and a similar-OIB-type source.From a comprehensive study of the previous data,the author believes that the tectonic history of the East Kunlun region was controlled by a geodynamic system of rifting and extension in the late stages of the Neoproterozoic to early stages of the Early Paleozoic and this formed the paleo-oceanic basin or rift system now represented by the ophiolites along the central fault in East Kunlun,the Kekekete mafic-ultramafic rocks and Delisitan ophiolite.LI Ruibao PEI Xianzhi LI Zuochen SUN Yu FENG Jianyong PEI Lei CHEN Guochao LIU Chengjun CHEN Youxin 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,5:13
11A review on China's constructed wetlands in recent three decades:Application and practice显示文摘Constructed wetlands(CWs)have been introduced to and developed in China for environmental engineering over the most prosperous three decades(1990–2020).To study the origin,development process,and future trend of CWs,this review summarized a wide range of literatures between 1990 and 2020 by Chinese authors.Firstly,the publication number over years,research highlights,and the author contributions with the most published papers in this field were conducted through bibliometric analysis.Secondly,the most principal components of CWs,substrates and macrophytes were summarized and analyzed.Thirdly,the typical application cases from traditional CWs,pond systems to combined pond-wetland systems were presented.In China,CWs were predominately distributed in the east of the so-called'Hu Huanyong Line'.Therefore CWs were limited by the socio-economic level and climatic conditions.It is unquestionable that the overall level of China's CWs has improved significantly,and one of the most prominent features has started towards the plural pattern development.There has been a trend of large-scale or low-cost CW application in the recent years.However,lifecycle research and management are required for better strategies in the future.Hong Zhang Wenzhong Tang Weidong Wang Wei Yin Honglei Liu Xiaomin Ma Yiqi Zhou Pei Lei Dongyang Wei Litian Zhang Cao Liu Jinmiao Zha 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6:13

14Hierarchical Magnetic Network Constructed by CoFe Nanoparticles Suspended Within “Tubes on Rods” Matrix Toward Enhanced Microwave Absorption显示文摘Hierarchical magnetic-dielectric composites are promising functional materials with prospective applications in microwave absorption(MA)field.Herein,a three-dimension hierarchical“nanotubes on microrods,”core–shell magnetic metal–carbon composite is rationally constructed for the first time via a fast metal–organic frameworksbased ligand exchange strategy followed by a carbonization treatment with melamine.Abundant magnetic CoFe nanoparticles are embedded within one-dimensional graphitized carbon/carbon nanotubes supported on micro-scale Mo2N rod(Mo2N@CoFe@C/CNT),constructing a special multi-dimension hierarchical MA material.Ligand exchange reaction is found to determine the formation of hierarchical magnetic-dielectric composite,which is assembled by dielectric Mo2N as core and spatially dispersed CoFe nanoparticles within C/CNTs as shell.Mo2N@CoFe@C/CNT composites exhibit superior MA performance with maximum reflection loss of−53.5 dB at 2 mm thickness and show a broad effective absorption bandwidth of 5.0 GHz.The Mo2N@CoFe@C/CNT composites hold the following advantages:(1)hierarchical core–shell structure offers plentiful of heterojunction interfaces and triggers interfacial polarization,(2)unique electronic migration/hop paths in the graphitized C/CNTs and Mo2N rod facilitate conductive loss,(3)highly dispersed magnetic CoFe nanoparticles within“tubes on rods”matrix build multi-scale magnetic coupling network and reinforce magnetic response capability,confirmed by the off-axis electron holography.Chunyang Xu Lei Wang Xiao Li Xiang Qian Zhengchen Wu Wenbin You Ke Pei Gang Qin Qingwen Zeng Ziqi Yang Chen Jin Renchao Che 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,3:10
15Mechanical,Microstructural and Tribological Properties of Reactive Magnetron Sputtered Cr-Mo-N Films显示文摘The Cr-Mo-N films were deposited on high speed steel(HSS) substrates by a DC reactive magnetron sputtering equipment coupled with two horizontal magnetron sources.The effects of substrate negative bias voltage(V_b),substrate temperature(T_s) and gas flow ratio(R= N_2/(N_2 + Ar)) on the microstructure,morphology,as well as the mechanical and tribological properties of the Cr-Mo-N films were investigated by virtue of X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),atomic force microscopy(AFM),nano-indentation test,ball-on-disk tribometer,and Rockwell indenter et al.With increasing V_b to-100 V,the preferred orientation of the films changed from(111) to(200) and their mechanical and tribological properties were improved gradually,too.It was also found that T_s gave a significant effect on mechanical property enhancement.When the T_s reached 300 ℃,the film obtained the highest hardness and effective elastic modulus of approximately 30.1 and 420.5 GPa,respectively and its critical load increased to about 54 N.With increasing R,the phase transformation from body-centered-cubic(bcc) Cr and hexagonal CrMoN_x multiphase to single face-centered-cubic(fcc) solid solution phase was observed.The correlations between values of hardness(H),effective elastic modulus(E~*),HIE~*,H^3/E^(*2),elastic recovery(1/14) and tribological properties of the films were also investigated.The results showed that the elastic recovery played an important role in the tribological behavior.Dongli Qi Hao Lei Tiegang Wang Zhiliang Pei Jun Gong Chao Sun 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,1:10
16Benefits of early ambulation within 24 h after total knee arthroplasty:a multicenter retrospective cohort study in China显示文摘Background:Postoperative care has been evolving since the concept of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)was introduced in China.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of early ambulation within 24h after unilateral total knee arthroplasty(TKA)on postoperative rehabilitation and costs in a Chinese population.Methods:This cohort study of patients with knee osteoarthritis who had undergone TKA at 24 large teaching hospitals between January 2014 and November 2016 involved 2687 patients who began ambulating within 24h(Group A)and 3761 patients who began ambulating later than 24h(Group B).The outcome measurements,such as length of stay(LOS),total hospitalization costs,dynamic pain level,knee flexion range of motion(ROM),results of the 12-Item Short Form Survey(SF-12),incidence of thromboembolic events and other complications,were recorded and compared.Results:The early ambulation group(Group A)had a shorter LOS and lower hospitalization costs and pain levels than the late ambulation group(Group B).There was a favorable effect in enhancing ROM for patients in Group A compared with patients in Group B.In Group A,patients had significantly higher postoperative SF-12 scores than those in Group B.The incidence of deep venous thrombosis(DVT)and pulmonary infection was significantly lower in Group A than in Group B.The incidence of pulmonary embolism(PE)and other complications did not differ between the two groups.Conclusions:Early ambulation within 24h after TKA was associated with reduced LOS,improved knee function,lower hospitalization costs and lower incidence of DVT and pulmonary infection in the Chinese population.Yi-Ting Lei Jin-Wei Xie Qiang Huang Wei Huang Fu-Xing Pei 2021Military Medical Research2021,8,4:10
17Capture of carbon dioxide by amine-impregnated as-synthesized MCM-41显示文摘The novel carbon dioxide(CO2) adsorbents with a high capture effciency were prepared through impregnating the as-synthesized MCM-41 with three kinds of amines,namely diethylenetriamine(DETA) ,triethylenetetramine(TETA) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol(AMP) .The resultant samples were characterized by small angle X-ray diffraction and low temperature N2 adsorption.The synthesis way not only saves the energy or extractor to remove the template but also is environmentally friendly due to the absence of the potential pollutants such as toluene.CO2 capture was investigated in a dynamic packed column.The sample impregnated by TETA showed the highest adsorption capacity,approximately 2.22 mmol/g at 60°C due to its highest amino-groups content among the three amines.The CO2 adsorption behavior was also investigated with the deactivation model,which showed an excellent prediction for the breakthrough curves.Jianwen Wei Lei Liao Yu Xiao Pei Zhang Yao Shi 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,10:10
18Choice for graphene as conductive additive for cathode of lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Graphene is a promising conductive additive for the lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) and shows great potential especially with its fast development of the large scale fabrication technology. This work has explored the influence of the incorporation of graphenes prepared by three typical methods on the electrochemical performance of the LiCoO_2-based cathode focusing on the choice for the effective graphene as conductive additive for the cathode of LIBs. Through the comparison of the intrinsic characteristics of graphenes and the electrochemical performance of electrodes with graphene, it is found that graphene with low disorder degree and large size is not suitable for LiCoO_2 cathodes as conductive additive. Conversely, the graphene with oxygen functional groups, relatively low surface area and proper size displays much better electrochemical performance when it is used as conductive additive. This work also demonstrates the transmission mechanism for different graphenes as conductive additives in the LiCoO_2 materials, and further reveals that the conductivity of graphene is not the only factor as conductive additives, surface chemistry and sheet size of the graphene are also essential factors which greatly influence the electrochemical performance of electrode. In addition, when combined with Super P, only 1% graphene is enough to construct an efficient conductive network in the electrode. 19Mangiferin inhibited neuroinflammation through regulating microglial polarization and suppressing NF-κB,NLRP3 pathway显示文摘Inflammation plays important roles in the progress of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.Microglia is responsible for the homeostasis of the central nervous system(CNS),and involved in the neuroinflammation.Therefore,it could be potential in treatment of neurodegenerative diseases to suppress the microglia-mediated neuroinflammation.Mangiferin,a major glucoside of xanthone in Anemarrhena Rhizome,has anti-inflammatory,anti-diabetes,and anti-oxidative properties.However,the effect of mangiferin on the inflammatary responses of microglia cells are still poorly understand.In this study,we investigated the mechanism by which mangiferin inhibited inflammation in LPS-induced BV2 microglia cells.BV2 cells were pretreatment with mangiferin followed by LPS stimulation.In vitro assays,NO and cytokines production were quantified.Western blot and immunocytochemistry were used to examine the effect of mangiferin on the polarization of BV2 cells and signaling pathway.The results showed that mangiferin treatment significantly reduced NO,IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-αproduction,also reduced the mRNA and protein of iNOS and COX-2,promoted the polarization of inflammatory toward anti-inflammatory,and inhibited activation of NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome.These data suggest that mangiferin has an anti-neuroinflammatory property via regulating microglia macrophage polarization and suppressing NF-κB and NLRP3 signaling pathway,and may act as a potential natural therapeutic candidate for neuroinflammatory diseases.LEI Li-Yan WANG Rui-Cheng PAN Ya-Lei YUE Zheng-Gang ZHOU Rui XIE Pei TANG Zhi-Shu 2021Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2021,19,2:10
