| 4 | Nitrogen doped tin oxide nanostructured catalysts for selective electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide to formate显示文摘Tin/tin oxide materials are key electrocatalysts for selective conversion of CO_2 to formate/formic acid.Herein we report a tin oxide material with nitrogen doping by using ammonia treatment at elevated temperature. The N doped material demonstrated enhanced electrocatalytic CO_2 reduction activity, showing high Faradaic efficiency(90%) for formate at -0.65 V vs. RHE with partial current density of 4 mA/cm^2.The catalysis was contributed to increased electron negativity of N atom compared to O atom. Additionally, the N-doped catalyst demonstrates sulfur tolerance with retained formate selectivity. | 5 | Carbonaceous matter in glacier at the headwaters of the Yangtze River:Concentration,sources and fractionation during the melting process显示文摘Carbonaceous matter has an important impact on glacial retreat in the Tibetan Plateau,further affecting the water resource supply.However,the related studies on carbonaceous matter are still scarce in Geladaindong(GLDD)region,the source of the Yangtze River.Therefore,the concentration,source and variations of carbonaceous matter at Ganglongjiama(GLJM)glacier in GLDD region were investigated during the melting period in 2017,which could deepen our understanding on carbonaceous matter contribution to glacier melting.The results showed that dissolved organic carbon(DOC)concentration of snowpit samples(283±200μg/L)was much lower than that of precipitation samples(624±361μg/L),indicating that large parts of DOC could be rapidly leached from the snowpit during the melting process.In contrast,refractory black carbon(rBC)concentration measured by Single Particle Soot Photometer of snowpit samples(4.27±3.15μg/L)was much higher than that of precipitation samples(0.97±0.49μg/L).Similarly,DOC with high mass absorption cross-section measured at 365 nm value was also likely to enrich in snowpit during the melting process.In addition,it was found that both r BC and DOC with high light-absorbing ability began to leach from the snowpit when melting process became stronger.Therefore,rBC and DOC with high light-absorbing ability exhibited similar behavior during the melting process.Based on relationship among DOC,rBC and K^+ in precipitation,the main source of carbonaceous matter in GLJM glacier was biomass burning during the study period. | Zhaofu Hu Shichang Kang Xiaobo He Fangping Yan Yulan Zhang Pengfei Chen Xiaofei Li Shaopeng Gao Chaoliu Li | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 3 |
| 6 | Seasonality of carbonaceous aerosol composition and light absorption properties in Karachi,Pakistan显示文摘Characteristics of carbonaceous aerosol(CA)and its light absorption properties are limited in Karachi,which is one of the most polluted metropolitan cities in South Asia.This study presents a comprehensive measurement of seasonality of CA compositions and mass absorption cross-section(MAC)of elemental carbon(EC)and water-soluble organic carbon(WSOC)in total suspended particles(TSP)collected from February 2015 to March 2017 in the southwest part of Karachi.The average TSP,organic carbon(OC),and EC concentrations were extremely high with values as 391.0±217.0,37.2±28.0,and 8.53±6.97μg/m3,respectively.These components showed clear seasonal variations with high concentrations occurring during fall and winter followed by spring and summer.SO42-,NO3-,K+,and NH4+showed similar variations with CA,implying the significant influence on atmospheric pollutants from anthropogenic activities.Relatively lower OC/EG ratio(4.20±2.50)compared with remote regions further indicates fossil fuel combustion as a primary source of CA.Meanwhile,sea salt and soil dust are important contribution sources for TSP.The average MAC of EC(632 nm)and WSOC(365 nm)were 6.56±2.70 and 0.97±0.37 m2/g,respectively.MACEC is comparable to that in urban areas but lower than that in remote regions,indicating the significant influence of local emissions.MACwsoc showed opposite distribution with EC,further suggesting that OC was significantly affected by local fossil fuel combustion.In addition,dust might be an important factor increasing MACwsoc particularly during spring and summer. | Pengfei Chen Shichang Kang Chaman Gul Lekhendra Tripathee Xiaoxiang Wang Zhaofu Hu Chaoliu Li Tao Pu | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4: | 3 |
| 7 | Rare earth doping effects on superconducting properties of MgB_2:A review显示文摘Rare earth(RE) elements and their compounds have been doped into MgB_2 since the discovery of the superconductivity of MgB_2. The doping effects of RE elements and RE compounds are summarized in terms of different doping methods and the accompanying variations in the superconducting transition temperature, upper critical field, irreversibility field, and critical current density(Jc). Conclusions are drawn on the doping mechanisms to demonstrate the possibility of improvement of Jcin the future. REBy phase inclusions are observed in MgB_2 as nano-pinning centers with significant enhancement of Jcin MgB_2 doped with Y, La, Dy, Ho, Nd, etc. Furthermore, some REs with larger magnetic moments will provide more efficient flux pinning centers with larger pinning forces, which is different with the doping effects and mechanism of ferromagnetic transition metals in MgB_2. | 8 | Atmospheric particle-bound polycyclic aromatic compounds over two distinct sites in Pakistan:Characteristics,sources and health risk assessment显示文摘Much attention is drawn to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)as an air pollutant due to their toxic,mutagenic and carcinogenic properties.Therefore,to understand the levels,seasonality,sources and potential health risk of PAHs in two distinct geographical locations at Karachi and Mardan in Pakistan,total suspended particle(TSP)samples were collected for over one year period.The average total PAH concentrations were 31.5±24.4 and 199±229 ng/m^(3) in Karachi and Mardan,respectively.The significantly lower concentration in Karachi was attributed to diffusion and dilution of the PAHs by the influence of clean air mass from the Arabian sea and high temperature,enhancing the volatilization of the particle phase PAHs to the gas phase.Conversely,the higher concentration(^(-)6 times)in Mardan was due to large influence from local and regional emission sources.A clear seasonality was observed at both the sites,with the higher values in winter and post-monsoon due to higher emissions and less scavenging,and lower values during monsoon season due to the dilution effect.Diagnostic ratios and principal component analysis indicated that PAHs in both sites originated from traffic and mixed combustion sources(fossil fuels and biomass).The average total Ba P equivalent concentrations(Ba P eq)in Karachi and Mardan were 3.26 and 34 ng/m^(3),respectively,which were much higher than the WHO guideline of 1 ng/m^(3).The average estimates of incremental lifetime cancer risk from exposure to airborne Ba P eq via inhalation indicated a risk to human health from atmospheric PAHs at both sites. | Linda Maharjan Shichang Kang Lekhendra Tripathee Chaman Gul Huijun Zheng Quanlian Li Pengfei Chen Mukesh Rai Ewerton Santos | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Nitrogenous and carbonaceous aerosols in PM_(2.5) and TSP during pre-monsoon:Characteristics and sources in the highly polluted mountain valley显示文摘This study reports for the first time a comprehensive analysis of nitrogenous and carbona-ceous aerosols in simultaneously collected PM_(2.5) and TSP during pre-monsoon(March-May 2018)from a highly polluted urban Kathmandu Valley(KV)of the Himalayan foothills.The mean mass concentration of PM_(2.5)(129.8 μg/m^(3))was only-25%of TSP mass(558.7 μg/m^(3))indicating the dominance of coarser mode aerosols.However,the mean concentration as well as fractional contributions of water-soluble total nitrogen(WSTN)and carbonaceous species reveal their predominance in find-mode aerosols.The mean mass concentration of WSTN was 17.43±4.70 μg/m^(3)(14%)in PM_(2.5) and 24.64±8.07 μg/m^(3)(5%)in TSP.Moreover,the fractional contribution of total carbonaceous aerosols(TCA)is much higher in PM_(2.5)(~34%)than that in TSP(~20%).The relatively low OC/EC ratio in PM_(2.5)(3.03±1.47)and TSP(4.64±1.73)suggests fossil fuel combustion as the major sources of carbonaceous aerosols with contributions from secondary organic aerosols.Five-day air mass back trajectories sim-ulated with the HYSPLIT model,together with MODIS fire counts indicate the influence of local emissions as well as transported pollutants from the Indo-Gangetic Plain region to the south of the Himalayan foothills.Principal component analysis(PCA)also suggests a mixed contribution from other local anthropogenic,biomass burning,and crustal sources.Our re-sults highlight that it is necessary to control local emissions as well as regional transport while designing mitigation measures to reduce the KV's air pollution. | Hemraj Bhattarai Lekhendra Tripathee Shichang Kang Pengfei Chen Chhatra Mani Sharma Kirpa Ram Junming Guo Maheswar Rupakheti | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5: | 1 |

| 12 | Synthesis of Cu/Ni-La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)Cr_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(3-δ) and its catalytic performance on dry methane reforming显示文摘In this study,Cu/Ni-La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)Cr_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(3-δ)(LSCM) catalysts were synthesized via the citric acid-nitrate process(CNP) and chemical co-precipitation. The catalytic performance of Cu/Ni-LSCM catalysts on dry methane reforming was evaluated in a fixed-bed reactor at 550/650 ℃ and atmosphere pressure. Cu/Ni loading was investigated as an influencing factor, which led to 5 cases of samples according to the different Cu/Ni mass ratios. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), field emissionscanning electron microscope(FE-SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) measurement, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), hydrogen-based temperature-programmed reduction(H_2-TPR) and thermos gravimetric analyzer(TGA). The results show that the methane conversion increases, the resistance against metal sintering increases and the carbon deposition drops after the copper is introduced. | 13 | Holey graphene oxide-templated construction of nano nickel-based metal–organic framework for highly efficient asymmetric supercapacitor显示文摘Metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)with redox-active metal sites and controllable crystalline structures make it possible to access the merits of highly-efficient electrode materials in electrochemical energy storage systems.However,most MOFs suffer from low capacitance and poor cycling stability that largely thwart their application.Herein,we present the holey graphene oxide(HGO)template strategy to prepare nano two-dimensional Ni(BDC)with HGO as both template and capping agent(denoted as Ni(BDC)-HGOx,x=10,20,30,and 40 according to the added HGO amount).Structural analyses reveal that HGO can significantly inhibit the Ni(BDC)agglomeration,thus offering a high ion-accessible surface area.Ni(BDC)-HGO30 with well-exposed active sites exhibits a high capacitance of 1,115.6 F·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1) in 6 M KOH aqueous,1.8 times that of bulk Ni(BDC).An asymmetric supercapacitor with Ni(BDC)-HGO30 as a positive electrode and activated carbon as the opposing electrode delivers an energy density of 52.5 W·h·kg^(−1) and a power density up to 18.0 kW·kg−1,with 92.5%capacitance retention after 10,000 cycles.Galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and in situ electrochemical–Raman measurements were exploited to elucidate the electrochemical behavior of Ni(BDC)-HGO30.These results pave the way for the development of rationally tuned MOF materials for enhancing supercapacitor performances. | Hang Wang Pengfei Zhao Xingmao Zhang Su Zhang Xiaolong Lu Zhipeng Qiu Kang Ren Zheng Xu Ruxin Yao Tong Wei Zhuangjun Fan | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,10: | 1 |

| 15 | Cryosphere as a temporal sink and source of microplastics in the Arcticregion显示文摘Microplastics(MPs)pollution has become a serious environmental issue of growing global concern due to the increasing plastic production and usage.Under climate warming,the cryosphere,defined as the part of Earth’s layer characterized by the low temperatures and the presence of frozen water,has been experiencing significant changes.The Arctic cryosphere(e.g.,sea ice,snow cover,Greenland ice sheet,permafrost)can store and release pollutants into environments,making Arctic an important temporal sink and source of MPs.Here,we summarized the distributions of MPs in Arctic snow,sea ice,seawater,rivers,and sediments,to illustrate their potential sources,transport pathways,storage and release,and possible effects in this sentinel region.Items concentrations of MPs in snow and ice varied about 1-6 orders of magnitude in different regions,which were mostly attributed to the different sampling and measurement methods,and potential sources of MPs.MPs concentrations from Arctic seawater,river/lake water,and sediments also fluctuated largely,ranging from several items of per unit to>40,000 items m^(-3),100 items m^(-3),and 10,000 items kg^(-1) dw,respectively.Arctic land snow cover can be a temporal storage of MPs,with MPs deposition flux of about(4.9-14.26)×10^(8) items km^(-2) yr^(-1).MPs transported by rivers to Arctic ocean was estimated to be approximately 8-48 ton/yr,with discharge flux of MPs at about(1.65-9.35)×10^(8) items/s.Average storage of MPs in sea ice was estimated to be about 6.1×10^(18) items,with annual release of about 5.1×10^(18) items.Atmospheric transport of MPs from long-distance terrestrial sources contributed significantly to MPs deposition in Arctic land snow cover,sea ice and oceanic surface waters.Arctic Great Rivers can flow MPs into the Arctic Ocean.Sea ice can temporally store,transport and then release MPs in the surrounded environment.Ocean currents from the Atlantic brought high concentrations of MPs into the Arctic.However,there existed large uncertainties of estimation on the storage and release of MPs in Arctic cryosphere owing to the hypothesis of average MPs concentrations.Meanwhile,representatives of MPs data across the large Arctic region should be mutually verified with in situ observations and modeling.Therefore,we suggested that systematic monitoring MPs in the Arctic cryosphere,potential threats on Arctic ecosystems,and the carbon cycle under increasing Arctic warming,are urgently needed to be studied in future. | Yulan Zhang Tanguang Gao Shichang Kang Deonie Allen Zhaoqing Wang Xi Luo Ling Yang Jinlei Chen Zhaofu Hu Pengfei Chen Wentao Du Steve Allen | 2023 | Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,4: | 1 |
| 16 | Dissolved organic carbon fractionation in wet deposition and its potential impact on radiative forcing in the central Tibetan Plateau显示文摘As an important component of carbonaceous matters,dissolved organic carbon(DOC)can absorb and scatter the solar radiation at ultraviolet and blue wavelengths.The wet deposition process has great impact on the con-centration and light absorption ability of precipitation DOC,affecting the climatic effect caused by DOC in the atmosphere.In this study,light absorption and fluorescence characteristics of precipitation DOC was investigated in the central Tibetan Plateau(TP).The results showed that the mean DOC concentration and mass absorption cross-section measured at 365 nm(MAC_(365)) in Tanggula(TGL)station were 0.59±0.42 mg/L and 0.37±0.19 m^(2)/g,respectively,while both values showed much higher volatilities than those of aerosols.DOC concentrations had significant negative correlation with the precipitation amount,while MAC_(365) values increase with the precipitation amount in TGL station.Therefore,DOC with high light-absorbing ability was preferred to be retained in the atmosphere during wet deposition.In this study,precipitation DOC contained three fluorescent components(one humic-like component and two tyrosine-like components)mainly from local biomass burning sources.DOC concentration showed a negative relationship with MAC_(365) value in TGL station.The wet deposition of DOC with low light-absorbing ability can reduce the strong negative radiative forcing caused by secondary organic aerosol due to high proportion of DOC in secondary organic carbon.Similar phenomenon was also found in Nam Co,Lulang and Everest stations of previous study,which may have a potential impact on radiative forcing in the atmosphere of TP. | ZhaoFu Hu ChaoLiu Li ShiChang Kang XiaoFei Li Chao Zhang Fangping Yan XiaoBo He PengFei Chen | 2023 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2023,15,4: | 0 |
| 17 | Atmospheric particle-bound mercury in the northern Indo-Gangetic Plain region:Insights into sources from mercury isotope analysis and influencing factors显示文摘Lumbini is a world heritage site located in the southern plains region of Nepal, and is regarded as a potential site for evaluating transboundary air pollution due to its proximity to the border with India. In this study, 82 aerosol samples were collected between April 2013 and July 2014 to investigate the levels of particulate-bound mercury(PBM) and the corresponding seasonality, sources, and influencing factors.The PBM concentration in total suspended particulate(TSP) matter ranged from 6.8 pg m^(-3) to351.7 pg m^(-3)(mean of 99.7 ± 92.6 pg m^(-3)), which exceeded the ranges reported for remote and rural sites worldwide. The Hg content(PBM/TSP) ranged from 68.2 ng g^(-1) to 1744.8 ng g^(-1)(mean of 446.9 ±312.7 ng g^(-1)), indicating anthropogenic enrichment. The PBM levels were higher in the dry season(i.e.,winter and the pre-monsoon period) than in the wet season(i.e., the monsoon period). In addition, the δ^(202) Hg signature indicated that waste/coal burning and traffic were the major sources of Hg in Lumbini during the pre-monsoon period. Meanwhile, precipitation occurring during photochemical processes in the atmosphere may have been responsible for the observed Δ^(199) Hg values in the aerosol samples obtained during the monsoon period. The PBM concentration was influenced mostly by the resuspension of polluted dust during dry periods and crop residue burning during the post-monsoon period. The estimated PBM deposition flux at Lumbini was 15.7 lg m^(-2) yr^(-1). | 20 | High-entropy Sm_(2)B_(2)O_(7)(B=Ti,Zr,Sn,Hf,Y,Yb,Nb,and Ta) oxides with highly disordered B-site cations for ultralow thermal conductivity显示文摘Materials with ultralow thermal conductivity and good thermal stability are of great interest in numerous applications such as energy storage and conversion devices,and thermal insulation components.In this work,a family of high-entropy Sm_(2)B_(2)O_(7)(B=Ti,Zr,Sn,Hf,Y,Yb,Nb,and Ta) oxides with highly disordered cations on the B-site has been synthesized by introducing large atomic-size mismatch,mass and charge disorder.Through tuning the composition,the high-entropy Sm_(2)B_(2)O_(7) oxides can be engineered from pyrochlore to fluorite structure,accompanied with an order-disorder transition.The pyrochlore Sm_(2)(Nb_(0.2)Sn_(0.2)Ti_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Zr_(0.2))_(2)O_(7) and fluorite Sm_(2)(Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2)Zr_(0.2))_(2)O_(7) exhibit low thermal conductivities of 1.35 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1) and 1.23 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),respectively,indicating their good thermal insulation.In addition,the high-entropy fluorite Sm_(2)(Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2)Zr_(0.2))_(2)O_(7) also shows average thermal expansion coefficient of 10.2 × 10^(-6)℃^(-1) and high-temperature stability even after thermal exposure at 1600 °C in air for 30 h.These results indicate that the high-entropy Sm_(2)B_(2)O_(7)(B=Ti,Zr,Sn,Hf,Y,Yb,Nb,and Ta) can be promising candidates for thermal barrier coatings and thermally insulators. | Liang Xu Lei Su Hongjie Wang Hongfei Gao Pengfei Guo Min Niu Kang Peng Lei Zhuang Zhiwei Dai | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,24: | 0 |
