2Early prediction of pathological outcomes to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients using automated breast ultrasound显示文摘Objective: Early assessment of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) for breast cancer allows therapy to be individualized.The optimal assessment method has not been established.We investigated the accuracy of automated breast ultrasound(ABUS) to predict pathological outcomes after NAC.Methods: A total of 290 breast cancer patients were eligible for this study.Tumor response after 2 cycles of chemotherapy was assessed using the product change of two largest perpendicular diameters(PC) or the longest diameter change(LDC).PC and LDC were analyzed on the axial and the coronal planes respectively.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were used to evaluate overall performance of the prediction methods.Youden's indexes were calculated to select the optimal cut-off value for each method.Sensitivity, specificity,positive and negative predictive values(PPV and NPV) and the area under the ROC curve(AUC) were calculated accordingly.Results: yp T0/is was achieved in 42 patients(14.5%) while yp T0 was achieved in 30 patients(10.3%) after NAC.All four prediction methods(PC on axial planes, LDC on axial planes, PC on coronal planes and LDC on coronal planes) displayed high AUCs(all>0.82), with the highest of 0.89 [95% confidence interval(95% CI), 0.83–0.95]when mid-treatment ABUS was used to predict final pathological complete remission(p CR).High sensitivities(85.7%–88.1%) were observed across all four prediction methods while high specificities(81.5%–85.1%) were observed in two methods used PC.The optimal cut-off values defined by our data replicate the WHO and the RECIST criteria.Lower AUCs were observed when mid-treatment ABUS was used to predict poor pathological outcomes.Conclusions: ABUS is a useful tool in early evaluation of p CR after NAC while less reliable when predicting poor pathological outcomes.Xinguang Wang Ling Huo Yingjian He Zhaoqing Fan Tianfeng Wang Yuntao Xie Jinfeng Li Tao Ouyang 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:11
3Cancer-associated fibroblasts in breast cancer:Challenges and opportunities显示文摘The tumor microenvironment is proposed to contribute substantially to the progression of cancers,including breast cancer.Cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are the most abundant components of the tumor microenvironment.Studies have revealed that CAFs in breast cancer originate from several types of cells and promote breast cancer malignancy by secreting factors,generating exosomes,releasing nutrients,reshaping the extracellular matrix,and suppressing the function of immune cells.CAFs are also becoming therapeutic targets for breast cancer due to their specific distribution in tumors and their unique biomarkers.Agents interrupting the effect of CAFs on surrounding cells have been developed and applied in clinical trials.Here,we reviewed studies examining the heterogeneity of CAFs in breast cancer and expression patterns of CAF markers in different subtypes of breast cancer.We hope that summarizing CAFrelated studies from a historical perspective will help to accelerate the development of CAF-targeted therapeutic strategies for breast cancer.Dengdi Hu Zhaoqing Li Bin Zheng Xixi Lin Yuehong Pan Peirong Gong Wenying Zhuo Yujie Hu Cong Chen Lini Chen Jichun Zhou Linbo Wang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,5:9

5Application of Stable Isotope Tracing Technologies in Identification of Transformation among Waters in Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China显示文摘In order to investigate the transformation among the precipitation,groundwater,and surface water in the Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China,precipitation and groundwater samples which were collected at the meteorological station of the Sanjiang Mire Wetland Experimental Station,Chinese Academy of Sciences and the surface water which collected from the Wolulan River were used to identify the transformation of three types of water.The isotope composition of different kinds of water sources were analyzed via stable isotope(deuterium and oxygen-18) investigation of natural water.The results show a clear seasonal difference in the stable isotopes in precipitation.During the cold half-year,the mean stable isotope in precipitation in the Sanjiang Plain reaches its minimum with the minimum temperature.The δ18O and δD values are high in the rainy season.In the Wolulan River,the evaporation is the highest in August and September.The volume of evaporation and the replenishment to the river is mostly same.The groundwater is recharged more by the direct infiltration of precipitation than by the river flow.The results of this study indicate that the water bodies in the Sanjiang Plain have close hydrologic relationships,and that the transformation among each water system frequently occurs.XU Yingying YAN Baixing LUAN Zhaoqing ZHU Hui WANG Lixia 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,4:6
6Research on Advertising and Pricing in E-Supply Chain Under Different Dominant Modes显示文摘The E-supply chain is formed gradually along with the development of network, which is getting more attention among enterprises with unique advantages. Three E-supply chain operation modes are constructed in this paper, then the optimal pricing and advertising strategies under those modes are studied and compared, which are demonstrated with numerical examples. The results of comparison and analysis show that: Selling price, network platform service level, advertising investment and the profits of manufacturer, network platform and E-supply chain all increase with advertising effectiveness of stimulating demand growth. Under centralized decision-making mode, service level is highest, advertising investment is largest and the profit of E-supply chain is highest as well. When manufacturer leads decentralized decision-making mode, not only network service level, advertising investment and the profit of manufacturer can gain better results, but also profit of network platform can be higher while the advertisement effect of increasing demand is big enough. Additionally, it is confirmed that centralized decision-making is better than decentralized decision-making for system operation. 7Rare-earth element geochemistry reveals the provenance of sediments on the southwestern margin of the Challenger Deep显示文摘The hadal zone represents one of the last great frontiers in modern marine science,and deciphering the provenance of sediment that is supplied to these trench settings remains a largely unanswered question.Here,we examine the mineralogical and geochemical composition of a sediment core(core CD-1)that was recovered from the southwestern margin of the Challenger Deep within the Mariana Trench.Major element abundances and rare-earth element patterns from these sediments require inputs from both terrigenous dust and locally sourced volcanic debris.We exploit a two-endmember mixing model to demonstrate that locally sourced volcanic material dominates the sediment supply to the Challenger Deep(averaging^72%).The remainder,however,is supplied by aeolian dust(averaging^28%),which is consistent with adjacent studies that utilized Sr-Nd isotopic data.Building on a growing database,we strengthen our understanding of Asian aeolian dust input into the northwestern Pacific,which ultimately improves our appreciation of sedimentation in,and around,the hadal zone.JIANG Zuzhou SUN Zhilei LIU Zhaoqing CAO Hong GENG Wei XU Haixia WANG Lisheng WANG Libo 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,3:5
8Te0.045S0.955PAN composite with high average discharge voltage for Li–S battery显示文摘As a sulfur-containing cathode material,sulfide polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)is expected to be used for longlife lithium-sulfur battery because there is no shuttle effect occurred in its charge process.However,its specific capacity and discharge potential need to be further improved to satisfy the urgent demands for high-performance batteries.In this paper,Te0.045S0.955PAN composite was synthesized by co-heating TexS1-x and PAN,and the superior electrochemical performance to that of SPAN was obtained because of doping Te with high conductivity.The as-prepared Te0.045S0.955PAN composite possessed the specific capacity of 675 mAh g^-1 after 100 cycles at the current density of 0.1 A g^-1 with high capacity retention of96.6%compared to the second cycle.Especially,during cycling,Te0.045S0.955PAN showed average discharge voltages of 1.88-1.91 V,which were higher than 1.85-1.88 V for SPAN at the same current density.Thus doping Te provides a new strategy for increasing the energy density of SPAN.Ke Wang Yuepeng Guan Zhaoqing Jin Weikun Wang Anbang Wang 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12:3
9Critical function of DNA methyltransferase 1 in tomato development and regulation of the DNA methylome and transcriptome显示文摘DNA methylation confers epigenetic regulation on gene expression and thereby on various biological processes.Tomato has emerged as an excellent system to study the function of DNA methylation in plant development.To date,regulation and function of DNA methylation maintenance remains unclear in tomato plants.Here,we report the critical function of tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)Methyltransferase 1(Sl MET1)in plant development and DNA methylome and transcriptome regulation.Using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing,we generated slmet1 mutants and observed severe developmental defects with a frame-shift mutation,including small and curly leaves,defective inflorescence,and parthenocarpy.In leaf tissues,mutations in Sl MET1 caused CG hypomethylation and CHH hypermethylationon a whole-genome scale,leading to a disturbed transcriptome including ectopic expression of many RIN target genes such as ACC2 in leaf tissues,which are normally expressed in fruits.Neither the CG hypomethylation nor CHH hypermethylation in the slmet1 mutants is related to tissue culture.Meanwhile,tissue culture induces non-CG hypomethylation,which occurs more frequently at gene regions than at TE regions.Our results depict Sl MET1-and tissue culture-dependent tomato DNA methylomes,and that Sl MET1 is required for maintaining a normal transcriptome and normal development of tomato.Yu Yang Kai Tang Tatsiana U Datsenka Wenshan Liu Suhui Lv Zhaobo Lang Xingang Wang Jinghui Gao Wei Wang Wenfeng Nie Zhaoqing Chu Heng Zhang Avtar K HANDa Jian-Kang Zhu Huiming Zhang 2019Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,12:3
10Breast-conserving therapy and modified radical mastectomy for primary breast carcinoma:a matched comparative study显示文摘Background:To compare two types of therapy for primary breast carcinoma,breast-conserving therapy(BCT) and modified radical mastectomy(MRM),in a matched cohort study.Methods:A series of 1,746 patients with primary breast cancer treated with BCT or MRM in a single Chinese institute between January 2000 and February 2009 were analyzed retrospectively to compare their outcomes with respect to the incidence of local recurrence(LR),distant metastasis,and survival.The patients were matched with regard to age at diagnosis,spreading to axillary lymph nodes,hormone receptor status,the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and maximal tumor diameter.The match ratio was 1:1,and each arm included 873 patients.Results:The median follow-up period was 71 months.The 6-year disease-free survival(DFS) and 6-year distant disease-free survival(DDFS) rates differed significantly between two groups.The 6-year local recurrence-free survival(LRFS) rates were 98.2% [95% confidence interval(CI):0.973-0.989] in the BCT group and 98.7%(95% CI:0.980-0.994) in the MRM group(P=0.182),respectively.DFS rates in BCT and MRM groups were 91.3%(95% CI:0.894-0.932) and 86.3%(95% CI:0.840-0.886)(P<0.001),respectively,whereas the DDFS rates in BCT and MRM groups were 93.6%(95% CI:0.922-0.950) and 87.7%(95% CI:0.854-0.900)(P<0.001),respectively.Conclusions:BCT in eligible patients is as effective as MRM with respect to local tumor control,DFS and DDFS,and may result in a better outcome than MRM in Chinese primary breast cancer patients.Lize Wang Tao Ouyang Tianfeng Wang Yuntao Xie Zhaoqing Fan Benyao Lin Jinfeng Li 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6:3
11Highly Improved Microstructure and Properties of Poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) Paper-based Materials via Hot Calendering Process显示文摘In this study,the effect of hot calendering process on the microstructure and properties of poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide)(PPTA) paper-based materials was investigated.The microstructures of the fracture surface,crystalline structure,and single fiber strength of the PPTA paperbased materials as well as the different bonding behaviors between the PPTA fibers and PPTA fibrids obtained before and after the hot calendering process were examined.The results indicated that a high linear pressure would result in a limited improvement of the strength owing to the unimproved paper structure.The optimal values of tensile index and dielectric strength of 56.6 N·m/g and 27.6 kV/mm,respectively,could only be achieved with a synergistic effects of hot calendering temperature and linear pressure(240℃ and 110 k N/m,respectively).This result suggested it was possible to achieve a significant reinforcement and improvement in the interfacial bonding of functional PPTA paper-based materials,and avoid the formation of unexpected pleats and cracks in PPTA paper-based materials during the hot calendering process.Bin Yang ZhaoQing Lu MeiYun Zhang ShunXi Song RuNan Wang 2017Paper And Biomaterials2017,2,3:3
12Association between HER2 status and response to neoadjuvant anthracycline followed by paclitaxel plus carboplatin chemotherapy without trastuzumab in breast cancer显示文摘Background:We recently showed HER2-positive breast cancers are less likely to respond to neoadjuvant anthracycline chemotherapy.Here,we investigated whether HER2-positive breast cancers responded to sequential neoadjuvant anthracycline followed by paclitaxel plus carboplatin regimen in the absence of trastuzumab.Methods:Women(n=372) with operable primary breast cancer initially received two cycles of neoadjuvant anthracyclines,the clinical tumor response was assessed,then patients were received four cycles of paclitaxel plus carboplatin regimen.All the patients did not received trastuzumab treatment in the neoadjuvant setting.HER2 status was determined by immunohistochemistry and/or by fluorescence in situ hybridization in corebiopsy breast cancer tissue obtained before the neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Results:Eighteen percent(67/372) of patients achieved a pathologic complete response(p CR) in their breast.HER2-positive tumors had a significant higher p CR rate than HER2-negative tumors(33.0% versus 13.5%,P<0.001) in this cohort of 372 patients,and positive HER2 status remained an independent favorable predictor of p CR in a multivariate analysis [odds ratio(OR),2.26;95% confidence interval(CI),1.18 to 4.36,P=0.015].Furthermore,patients who responded to initial anthracycline regimens were more likely to respond to paclitaxel plus carboplatin than patients who did not(p CR,27.2% versus 14.6%,P=0.005).Patients with HER2-positive tumors exhibited a significant higher p CR rate than did patients with HER2-negative tumors in both anthracycline response group(40.5% versus 20.0%,P=0.025) and anthracycline non-response group(28.3% versus 11.3%,P=0.002).Conclusions:Under the circumstance of no trastuzumab treatment,women with HER2-positive cancers derive a large benefit from paclitaxel-carboplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Lu Yao Juan Zhang Yiqiang Liu Tao Ouyang Jinfeng Li Tianfeng Wang Zhaoqing Fan Tie Fan Benyao Lin Yuntao Xie 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6:3

15Micrometer-sized ferrosilicon composites wrapped with multi-layered carbon nanosheets as industrialized anodes for high energy lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Various nanostructured architectures have been demonstrated to be effective to address the issues of high capacity Si anodes. However, the scale-up of these nano-Si materials is still a critical obstacle for commercialization. Herein, we use industrial ferrosilicon as low-cost Si source and introduce a facile and scalable method to fabricate a micrometer-sized ferrosilicon/C composite anode, in which ferrosilicon microparticles are wrapped with multi-layered carbon nanosheets. The multi-layered carbon nanosheets could effectively buffer the volume variation of Si as well as create an abundant and reliable conductivity framework, ensuring fast transport of electrons. As a result, the micrometer-sized ferrosilicon/C anode achieves a stable cycling with 805.9 m Ah g-1 over 200 cycles at 500 mA g-1 and a good rate capability of455.6 mAh g-1 at 10 A g-1.
