| 1 | Nutritional value of a partially defatted and a highly defatted black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens L.) meal for broiler chickens: apparent nutrient digestibility,apparent metabolizable energy and apparent ileal amino acid digestibility显示文摘Background: The study aimed to determine the apparent total tract digestibility coefficients(ATTDC) of nutrients, the apparent metabolizable energy(AME and AMEn) and the amino acid(AA) apparent ileal digestibility coefficients(AIDC)of a partially defatted(BSFp) and a highly defatted(BSFh) black soldier fly larvae meal. The experimental diets were: a basal diet and two diets prepared by substituting 250 g/kg(w/w) of the basal diet with BSFp or BSFh, respectively.Results: Significant differences were found between BSFp and BSFh meals for ATTDC of the nutrients: BSFp resulted more digestible than BSFh, except for ATTDC of CP which did not differed between meals, while a statistical trend was observed for ATTDC of DM and EE. The AME and AMEn values were significantly(P < 0.05) different between the two BSF meals, with higher levels for BSFp(16.25 and 14.87 MJ/kg DM, respectively). The AIDC of the AA in BSFp ranged from 0.44 to 0.92, while in BSFh they ranged from 0.45 to 0.99. No significant differences were observed for the AA digestibility(0.77 and 0.80 for BSFp and BSFh, respectively), except for glutamic acid, proline and serine that were more digestible in the BSFh meal(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Defatted BSF meals can be considered as an excellent source of AME and digestible AA for broilers with a better efficient nutrient digestion. | 2 | Characterising acute ischaemic stroke thrombi:insights from histology,imaging and emerging impedance-based technologies显示文摘Treatment of acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)focuses on rapid recanalisation of the occluded artery.In recent years,advent of mechanical thrombectomy devices and new procedures have accelerated the analysis of thrombi retrieved during the endovascular thrombectomy procedure.Despite ongoing developments and progress in AIS imaging techniques,it is not yet possible to conclude definitively regarding thrombus characteristics that could advise on the probable efficacy of thrombolysis or thrombectomy in advance of treatment.Intraprocedural devices with dignostic capabilities or new clinical imaging approaches are needed for better treatment of AIS patients.In this review,what is known about the composition of the thrombi that cause strokes and the evidence that thrombus composition has an impact on success of acute stroke treatment has been examined.This review also discusses the evidence that AIS thrombus composition varies with aetiology,questioning if suspected aetiology could be a useful indicator to stroke physicians to help decide the best acute course of treatment.Furthermore,this review discusses the evidence that current widely used radiological imaging tools can predict thrombus composition.Further use of new emerging technologies based on bioimpedance,as imaging modalities for diagnosing AIS and new medical device tools for detecting thrombus composition in situ has been introduced.Whether bioimpedance would be beneficial for gaining new insights into in situ thrombus composition that could guide choice of optimum treatment approach is also reviewed. | Smita Patil Jean Darcourt Pierluca Messina Franz Bozsak Christophe Cognard Karen Doyle | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4: | 3 |

| 4 | Efficient and sustainable V-catalyzed oxidative desulfurization of fuels assisted by ionic liquids显示文摘Fuel desulfurization is an appealing topic for the chemical industry since severe environmental regulations regarding SO_2 emissions have been legislated in many countries. In order to reduce the amount of sulfur-containing compounds in fuels,responsible for high SO_x emission levels,a green chemistry approach is compulsory. In this paper,vanadium salen and salophen complexes were used in the oxidation of a model aromatic sulfide,such as dibenzothiophene( DBT),in the presence of H_2O_2 as green oxidant. The oxidative process was successfully coupled with the extraction of the oxidized compounds by ionic liquids. The system resulted highly selective for sulfide oxidation,showing poor reactivity toward the oxidation of alkenes and allowing a significant reduction of S content in a model benzine. To note,the use of microwave in place of standard heating allowed to obtain 98% of DBT oxidation and almost complete sulfur extraction in the model fuel in 1000 s.
