| 1 | Electrochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles-coated gold nanoporous film electrode and its application to amperometric detection for trace Cr(VI)显示文摘A simple and rapid approach for the electrochemical synthesis of Ag nanoparticles-coated gold nanoporous film (AgGNF) on a gold substrate was reported. The solid gold electrode (SGE) was directly anodized under a high potential of 5 V, and then reduced to obtain gold nanoporous film (AuNF) by freshly prepared ascorbic acid. The Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were grown on the AuNF electrode by potential-step electrodeposition. The resulting AgGNF composites electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry (CV). As-prepared AgGNF electrode was used as a kind of superior sensor for Cr(VI) detection, which exhibited better electrocatalytic behavior than those of AuNF and SGE under identical conditions. Such a designed AgGNF nanocomposites electrode showed outstanding sensitivity (about 0.15 nA/ppb) and favorable reproducibility for Cr(VI) detection. The dependence of reduction current on Cr(VI) concentration is linear from 2 to 370 ppb with a low detection limit of 0.65 ppb. Interferences from other heavy metals ions (Cr3+, Cu2+, Pb2+, As3+ and Hg2+) associated with Cr(VI) analysis could be effectively diminished. | 4 | Identification of QTL and candidate genes involved in early seedling growth in rice via high-density genetic mapping and RNA-seq显示文摘Early seedling vigor(ESV)is a major breeding target in rice,especially under direct seeding.To identify quantitative trait locus(QTL)affecting ESV,a recombinant inbred line population derived from a cross between 02428 and YZX,two cultivars differing in vigor during early seedling growth,was used for QTL analysis.Nine traits associated with ESV were examined using a high-density map.Of 16 additive loci identified,three were detected in two generations and thus considered stable.Four epistatic interactions were detected,one of which was repeated in two generations.Further analysis of the pyramiding effect of the three stable QTL showed that the phenotypic value could be effectively improved with an increasing number of QTL.These results were combined with results from our previous QTL analysis of the germination index.The lines G58 and G182 combined all the favourable alleles of all three stable QTL for ESV and three QTL for germination speed.These two lines showed rapid germination and strong ESV.A total of 37 candidate differentially expressed genes were obtained from the regions of the three stable QTL by analysis of the dynamic transcriptomic expression profile during the seedling growth period of the two parents.The QTL are targets for ESV breeding and the candidate genes await functional validation.This study provides a theoretical basis and a genetic resource for the breeding of directseeded rice. | Jing Yang Zhenhua Guo Lixin Luo Qiaoli Gao Wuming Xiao Jiafeng Wang Hui Wang Zhiqiang Chen Tao Guo | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,2: | 6 |

| 6 | Screening high-quality fetal bovine serum for porcine oocyte maturation in vitro显示文摘Fetal bovine serum(FBS) is widely used in cell cultures due to its high stability and easy access. It was also used as a substitute for porcine follicular fluid(PFF) in previous studies. However, FBS components are unclear, and the presence of FBS in culture media may introduce a variation from batch to batch. This study aimed to establish an effective method to screen FBS in place of PFF in the culture media for porcine oocytes in vitro. We screened FBS from different sources by using porcine fetal fibroblast cells. The effects of six FBS samples on porcine fetal fibroblast cell growth were tested via frozen cell survival assay, cell clone formation assay, cell growth curve, and cell passage activity assay. The best serum that we called GFBS(heat-inactivated FBS, cat. no. 10500-64;Gibco) showed a similar effect on the maturation and development of porcine oocytes to that of PFF and can be used as a good substitute for PFF. | 10 | Cellulose derived biochar:Preparation,characterization and Benzo[α]pyrene adsorption capacity显示文摘Edible oil is prone to be contaminated by Benzo[a]pyrene(BaP)during production and processing.Adsorption is an important technology for the removal of BaP from edible oil,and biochar as a new type of adsorbent for the treatment BaP has received extensive attention.In this study,we prepared unmodified biochar and ZnCl_(2)-modified biochar from sesame straw cellulose(SSB and SSZ)and sesame capsule cellulose(SCB and SCZ),carried out structure characterization by Fourier Transform Infrared(FT-IR),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),and finally evaluated their potential effectiveness in BaP removal from sesame oil.FT-IR results revealed that SSZ and SCZ showed higher peak intensities,indicating that they could provide more active sites for adsorption.The results of XRD presented that SSZ and SCZ had a higher graphitization degree than the unmodified biochar.SEM results showed that the SSZ and SCZ had more complex pore structure,which is beneficial to adsorption.BET analysis results showed that SSZ and SCZ had a higher specific surface area of 1622.83-1797.39 m^(2)/g and a better developed porous structure(the total pore volume Vtotal was 0.9434-1.0023 cm^(3)/g)than the SSB and SCB(specific surface area was 350.55-352.59 m^(2)/g,and Vtotal was 0.1907-0.1918 cm^(3)/g),indicating that modification promoted the formation of porous structure and thus improved the adsorption capacity of biochar.Adsorption experiments confirmed once again that the BaP removal rates of SSZ and SCZ(92.67%-96.13%)were much higher than that of unmodified biochar(3.34%-4.28%),and the BaP content in the sesame oil treated by SSZ and SCZ were far below the current EU maximum levels(2μg/kg).Therefore,the modified biochar from cellulose is a promising adsorbent for BaP removal.In future studies,the influences of bichar on the nutritional quality of edible oil should be taken into consideration so as to find an ideal active carbon substitute for BaP removal in edible oil. | Qiaoli Yang Yanxia Sun Wenhui Sun Zhao Qin Huamin Liu Yuxiang Ma Xuede Wang | 2021 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4: | 2 |

| 13 | Low rate of pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure prophylaxis uptake and high prevalence of transmitted drug resistance among newly diagnosed primary HIV infections in Shenzhen, China: a real-world retrospective study显示文摘Background: Understanding the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary human deficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection in the context of the post-antiretroviral therapy era and HIV drug prophylaxis is essential for achieving the new target of 95-95-95-95 by 2025. This study reported the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary HIV-1 infection in Shenzhen.Methods: This is a real-world retrospective study. Eighty-seven newly diagnosed primary HIV-1-infected patients were recruited from January 2021 to March 2022 at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen. Demographic, epidemiological, diagnostic, drug resistance, and medical data were described and analyzed.Results: Overall, 96.6% (84/87) of the newly identified primary HIV-1-infected patients were male, including 88.5% (77/87) men have sex with men (MSM), with a median age of 29.0 years (Q_(1)-Q_(3): 24.0-34.0 years);of these, 85.1% (74/87) reported high-risk sexual behaviors with casual partners. The rate of condom usage was only 28.7% (25/87). The overall rate of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) was 8.0% (7/87, including 4 PrEP and 3 PEP cases) around the potential exposure, although 41.4% of the patients had prior awareness of such interventions. Moreover, only 19.5% (17/87) had previously used PrEP or PEP. Of those, 58.8% (10/17) of the patients obtained drugs from the internet, and only 35.3% (6/17) reported good compliance. A total of 54.0% (47/87) of subjects were diagnosed by the HIV nucleic acid test. Acute retroviral syndrome appeared in 54.0% (47/87) of patients. The prevalence of transmitted drug resistance (TDR) mutation was 33.9% (19/56), including 6 (10.7%) against nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) plus non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), 8 (14.3%) against NNRTI, and 5 (8.9%) against protease inhibitor (PI) only.Conclusions: Owing to the low utilization rate and incorrect usage of PrEP and PEP, massive efforts are needed to promote HIV-preventive strategies in the MSM population. Fourteen SD rats were randomly and evenly allocated to study group A and control group B. Limbal stem cell deficiency was established by alkali burn in the right eye of each rat in both groups. Rats in group A received autologous oral mucosa strip transplantation following the chemical burn. Rats in group B did not receive surgery after the chemical burn.Topical antibiotics and dexamethasone were used in all rats.Corneal clarity, corneal fluorescein staining, oral mucosal graft survival, and complications at postoperative days 1,3,7,14 were observed.Results: The oral mucosa strip graft was detached in one rat in group A. Reepithelialization was observed starting from the graft position and was completed within 14 days in the remaining 6 eyes in group A. However, persistent corneal epithelium defect was observed in all eyes in group B, among which corneal melting and perforation was observed in 2 eyes and corneal opacification with neovascularization was observed in the remaining 5 eyes.Conclusion: Autologous oral mucosa strip grafting for limbal stem cell deficiency can be achieved by a rat model following chemical burn.
