1pORF5 plasmid protein of Chlamydia trachomatis induces MAPK-mediated pro-inflammatory cytokines via TLR2 activation in THP-1 cells显示文摘Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis induces inflammatory pathologies in the urogenital tract that can lead to infertility and ectopic pregnancy.Pathogenesis of infection has been mostly attributed to excessive cytokine production.However,precise mechanisms on how C.trachomatis triggers this production,and which protein(s) stimulate inflammatory cytokines remains unknown.In the present study,the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein induced tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) and interleukin-8(IL-8) in dose-and time-dependent manners in the THP-1 human monocyte cell line.We found that intracellular p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)/MAPK signaling pathways were required for the induction of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-8.Blockade of toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) signaling reduced induction levels of TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-1β.We concluded that the C.trachomatis pORF5 protein might contribute to the inflammatory processes associated with chlamydial infections.ZHOU Hui HUANG QiuLin LI ZhongYu WU YiMou XIE XiaoBing MA KangKang CAO WenJuan ZHOU Zhou LU ChunXue ZHONG GuangMing 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,5:26

3Advanced hydrogels for the repair of cartilage defects and regeneration显示文摘Cartilage defects are one of the most common symptoms of osteoarthritis(OA),a degenerative disease that affects millions of people world-wide and places a significant socio-economic burden on society.Hydrogels,which are a class of biomaterials that are elastic,and display smooth surfaces while exhibiting high water content,are promising candidates for cartilage regeneration.In recent years,various kinds of hydrogels have been developed and applied for the repair of cartilage defects in vitro or in vivo,some of which are hopeful to enter clinical trials.In this review,recent research findings and developments of hydrogels for cartilage defects repair are summarized.We discuss the principle of cartilage regeneration,and outline the requirements that have to be fulfilled for the deployment of hydrogels for medical applications.We also highlight the development of advanced hydrogels with tailored properties for different kinds of cartilage defects to meet the requirements of cartilage tissue engineering and precision medicine.Wei Wei Yuanzhu Ma Xudong Yao Wenyan Zhou Xiaozhao Wang Chenglin Li Junxin Lin Qiulin He Sebastian Leptihn Hongwei Ouyang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,4:8
4Activity and hydrothermal stability of CeO_2–ZrO_2–WO_3 for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_x with NH_3显示文摘A series of CeO_2–ZrO_2–WO_3(CZW)catalysts prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis method showed excellent catalytic activity for selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO with NH_3 over a wide temperature of 150–550°C.The effect of hydrothermal treatment of CZW catalysts on SCR activity was investigated in the presence of 10% H_2O.The fresh catalyst showed above 90% NO_x conversion at 201–459°C,which is applicable to diesel exhaust NO_x purification(200–440°C).The SCR activity results indicated that hydrothermal aging decreased the SCR activity of CZW at low temperatures(below 300°C),while the activity was notably enhanced at high temperature(above 450°C).The aged CZW catalyst(hydrothermal aging at 700°C for 8 hr)showed almost 80% NO_x conversion at 229–550°C,while the V_2O_5–WO_3/TiO_2 catalyst presented above 80% NO_x conversion at 308–370°C.The effect of structural changes,acidity,and redox properties of CZW on the SCR activity was investigated.The results indicated that the excellent hydrothermal stability of CZW was mainly due to the CeO_2–ZrO_2 solid solution,amorphous WO_3 phase and optimal acidity.In addition,the formation of WO_3 clusters increased in size as the hydrothermal aging temperature increased,resulting in the collapse of structure,which could further affect the acidity and redox properties.Zhongxian Song Ping Ning Qiulin Zhang Hao Li Jinhui Zhang Yancai Wang Xin Liu Zhenzhen Huang 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4:7
5Homogeneous bottom-growth of lithium metal anode enabled by double-gradient lithiophilic skeleton显示文摘Lithium(Li) metal is considered as the most promising anode material for the next-generation high performance Li batteries.However,the uncontrollable dendritic growth impedes its commercial application.Herein,we design a 3 D Si@carbon nanofibers(CNFs)@ZnO-ZnO-Cu skeleton(SCZ) for guiding the homogeneous bottom-growth of Li metal.The top LixSi@CNFs and bottom LiyZn@CNFs layers could form conductivity and overpotential gradient to avoid the 'top-growth' of Li metal.Moreover,the top lithiophilic LixSi@CNFs layer could regulate the nucleation and deposition of Li-ions even if the lithium dendrites grow out of the skeleton under high capacity Li deposition(30 mAh cm^(-2)).As a result,the SCZ-Li||LiFePO_(4) full cell delivers a high capacity of ~104 mAh g^(-1)(~94.82% capacity retention) after 2000 cycles at 5 C, elucidating the potential application of the 3 D double-gradient Li metal composite anode.Li Zhang Hongfei Zheng Ben Liu Qingshui Xie Qiulin Chen Liang Lin Jie Lin Baihua Qu Laisen Wang Dong-Liang Peng 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6:5
6Localization and characterization of the hypothetical protein CT440 in Chlamydia trachomatis-infected cells显示文摘The inclusion membrane proteins play potentially important roles in chlamydial biology and pathogenesis.Here we localized and characterized the hypothetical protein CT440 in Chlamydia trachomatis-infected cells.The open reading frame(ORF) encoding the CT440 protein from the C.trachomatis serovar D genome was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-6p and expressed as a glutathione-S-transferase(GST) fusion protein in E.coli XL1-Blue.The CT440 fusion protein was used to immunize mice to raise antigen-specific antibody.After verification by Western blot and immunofluorescence assay(IFA),the specific antibody was used to localize the endogenous CT440 protein and to detect its expression pattern in Chlamydia-infected cells.Cytosolic expression of CT440 in HeLa cells was also carried out to evaluate the effect of the CT440 protein on the subsequent chlamydial infection.The results showed that the hypothetical protein CT440 was localized in the C.trachomatis inclusion membrane,and was detectable 12 h after chlamydial infection.Expression of CT440 in the cytoplasm did not inhibit the subsequent chlamydial infection.In summary,we have identified a new inclusion membrane protein that may be an important candidate for understanding C.trachomatis pathogenesis.LI ZhongYu HUANG QiuLin SU ShengMei ZHOU Zhou CHEN ChaoQun ZHONG GuangMing WU YiMou 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11:5
7Evolution of urban black and odorous water:The characteristics of microbial community and driving-factors显示文摘Urban black blooms that are primarily caused by organic carbon are deleterious environmental problems.However,detailed studies on the microbial characteristics that form urban black blooms are lacking.In this study,we observed the composition,diversity,and function of bacterial community in the overlying water and sediments during the occurrence and remediation of urban black blooms using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing analysis.First,we found that pivotal consortia in the overlying water increased significantly during the formation of black blooms,including the genera Acidovorax,Brevundimonas,Pusillimonas,and Burkholderiales involved in the degradation of refractory organics,as well as the genera Desulfovibrio,Dechloromonas,and Rhizobium related to the production of black and odorous substances.An RDA analysis revealed that chemical oxygen demand,dissolved oxygen,and oxidation reduction potential were related to the changes in microbial community composition.Furthermore,aeration was found to accelerate the removal of ammonia nitrogen and enhance the function of microbial community by stimulating the growth of order Planktomycetes during the remediation of black blooms,but aeration substantially damaged the microbial diversity and richness.Therefore,the health of the aquatic ecosystem should be comprehensively considered when aeration is applied to restore polluted waterbodies.Notably,we observed a large number of pathogenic bacteria in urban black blooms,which emphasizes the importance of treating domestic sewage so that it is harmless.Together,these findings provide new insights and a basis to prevent and manage urban black blooms.Dan Zhang Huilan Yang Shuhuan Lan Chen Wang Xudong Li Yunxiao Xing Hua Yue Qiulin Li Ling Wang Yifei Xie 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2:4

13Characteristics of Volcanic Reservoirs and Hydrocarbon Accumulation of Carboniferous System in Junggar Basin, China显示文摘The Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs in Junggar Basin contain rich hydrocarbon resources,implying a great exploration potential,so that they have become a key replacement target for“three-dimensional exploration”.The study on the Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs and their hydrocarbon accumulation elements is significant for clarifying the orientation for exploration.In this paper,based on 37 reserves reports and 3200 reservoir test data,the Carboniferous volcanic reservoirs in Junggar Basin were discussed from the prospective of lithology and lithofacies,physical properties,reservoir types,main controls on hydrocarbon accumulation,and hydrocarbon accumulation patterns.It is found that the Carboniferous in the basin is mostly in the multi-island ocean-volcanic island arc structural-sedimentary environment,so it is geologically eligible for forming in-situ volcanic reservoirs.The volcanic rocks are:(1)mostly distributed along deep and large faults,with the lithology and lithofacies controlled by volcanic architectures;(2)dominantly lava,followed by volcaniclastic lava and volcaniclastic rock;(3)distributed in the periphery of hydrocarbon-generating sag and within the source rocks horizontally,and concentrated in the weathering crust at the top longitudinally,possibly leading to reworked weathering crust reservoir;and(4)liable to form inner reservoirs.The volcanic reservoirs can be concluded into four hydrocarbon accumulation patterns,i.e.,self-generating&self-storing in paleo-uplift and vertical migration,self-generating&self-storing in paleo-uplift and lateral migration,young-generating&old-storing in fault zone and vertical migration,and young-generating&old-storing in paleo-uplift and lateral migration.Future exploration will focus on the effective source rock development and hydrocarbon supply zones and the selfgenerating&self-storing and young-generating&old-storing patterns.The exploration prospects are determined to be the Ludong-Wucaiwan-Baijiahai slope belt and the southern slope belt of the Shaqi uplift(self-generating&self-storing pattern)in eastern Junggar,and the fault and nasal arch zone at the northwestern margin and the nasal arch zone(deep and large structure)in the Luxi area(younggenerating&old-storing pattern)in western Junggar.Xiaozhi Wu Qiulin Guo Wei Zhang Dengfa He Xuefeng Qi Di Li 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,4:1

16Reconfigurable Muscle Strength Training Robot with Multi-mode Training for 17 Joint Movements显示文摘Different from limb rehabilitation training,the purpose of muscle strength training is to reduce muscle atrophy and increase muscle strength and tolerance through strength training of limb muscles,and then improve the muscle strength level of muscles(groups),mainly for sports fitness and muscle strengthening groups and patients with muscle atrophy or muscle weakness caused by various diseases.In this paper,we developed a new reconfigurable muscle strength training robot,a bionic robot by imitating physicians to conduct muscle strength training for patients,which was developed with six training modes for 17 joint movements,that is,the shoulder flexion/extension,the shoulder internal/external rotation,the shoulder adduction/abduction,the elbow flexion/extension,the wrist supination/pronation,the wrist flexion/extension,the wrist radial/ulnar deviation,the hip flexion/extension,the hip internal/external rotation,the hip adduction/abduction,the knee flexion/extension,the ankle dorsiflexion/plantarflexion,the ankle adduction/abduction,the ankle inversion/eversion,the waist flexion/extension,the waist left/right rotation,and the waist left/right flexion.The reconfigurable mechanism was designed with fully electric adjuster and reconfigurable adaptors deployed on the driving unit,and six training modes were developed,namely,continuous passive motion,active exercise,passive–active exercise,isotonic exercise,isometric exercise and isokinetic exercise.Experiments with knee joint and elbow joint have shown that the developed reconfigurable muscle strength training robot can realize the multi-mode trainings for the 17 joint movements.Jianfeng Li Qiulin Fang Mingjie Dong Xi Rong Liwei Jiang Ran Jiao 2023Journal of Bionic Engineering2023,20,1:1
