1Global overview of research progress and development of precision maize planters显示文摘Maize is the most important crop for food and widely used for industrial materials,leading to its increasing demand all over the world.Precision planting is the effective method to increase maize yield.To meet the agronomic requirement of precision planting,different kinds of precision maize planters were developed.However,because of the difference of geographical environment,cropping system,farm scale and economic status among different countries,types of maize planters are various and the technologies involved are at different levels.This paper summarizes the precision maize planters currently available in the world and classifies them into four types:precision planters for tilled-land,minimum/no tilled-land,hilly&small land,and cold&arid land.Detailed characteristics have been provided for some typical precision planters and comparisons were made as to their suitability under particular working conditions.High-efficiency and high-accuracy are the main features of precision planters for tilled-land,while the ability to clean residue from seed rows and prevent planters to be blocked are the important function of precision planters for minimum/no tilled-land.To fit for hilly&small land,planters should be light-weighted and small-sized,and to warm up soil and keep moisture,planters for cold&arid land should be equipped with plastic-film mulching mechanism.Finally,developing trend of precision planting technology was analyzed and suggestions,including policy support and technical improvement,were made for developing countries to make suitable precision maize planters according to the local geographical conditions and cropping systems.Yang Li Yan Bingxin Cui Tao Yu Yiming He Xiantao Liu Quanwei Liang Zhijie Yin Xiaowei Zhang Dongxing 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,1:17

3Performance of no-till corn precision planter equipped with row cleaners显示文摘In the continuous annual wheat-corn cropping area of North China Plain,no-till planting that promotes soil conservation and crop yield while reducing operation cost has been gradually accepted by local farmers.However,previous wheat residue is the main limiting factor affecting the performance of existing planters in placing seeds at uniform spacing and optimum depth in residue covered fields.In order to solve this problem,a kind of ground-wheel-driven row cleaner was designed,developed and mounted on row units of a four-row pneumatic precision planter.The planter has two adjacent row units equipped with the newly designed row cleaners and the other two adjacent row units equipped with the commonly used inactive row cleaners.This was used for planting at three forward speeds(4 km/h,6 km/h and 8 km/h)into half residue(HR)and whole residue(WR)plots.The amount of residue removal,seeding depth,emergence rate and indices of uniformity in seed spacing(missing-seeding index,quality of feeding index and precision index)were measured.The newly designed row cleaner performed better with regard to residue removal,with the average percentage of residue cleared as 63.0%compared to 40.3%for the inactive row cleaner.For the HR and WR plots,percentage of residue cleared of the newly designed row cleaner reached 57.1%and 68.9%respectively,suggesting that the newly designed row cleaner can work more effectively at high residue level.By contrast,with the percentage of residue cleared of the inactive row cleaner as 43.1%and 37.5%in HR and WR plots,suggesting that the inactive row cleaner just can work effectively under low residue condition.Values of missing-seeding index,QFI,precision index,coefficient of variation of depth and percent emergence for the newly designed row cleaner under whole residue level are comparable to those for the inactive row cleaner under half residue level.The result indicates that the effect of using the newly designed row cleaner is equal to that of reducing surface residue,and can help to maintain the uniformity of seed spacing and seeding depth.The newly designed row cleaner generally performed better at forward speed of 6 km/h,based on the distribution of seeds along rows and seeding depth uniformity.Yang Li Zhang Rui Gao Nana Cui Tao Liu Quanwei Zhang Dongxing 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,5:9
4Identification of a combination of SNPs associated with Graves' disease using swarm intelligence显示文摘Graves' disease,the production of thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor-stimulating antibodies leading to hyperthyroidism,is one of the most common forms of human autoimmune disease.It is widely agreed that complex diseases are not controlled simply by an individual gene or DNA variation but by their combination.Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),which are the most common form of DNA variation,have great potential as a medical diagnostic tool.In this paper,the P-value is used as a SNP pre-selection criterion,and a wrapper algorithm with binary particle swarm optimization is used to find the rule for discriminating between affected and control subjects.We analyzed the association between combinations of SNPs and Graves' disease by investigating 108 SNPs in 384 cases and 652 controls.We evaluated our method by differentiating between cases and controls in a five-fold cross validation test,and it achieved a 72.9% prediction accuracy with a combination of 17 SNPs.The experimental results showed that SNPs,even those with a high P-value,have a greater effect on Graves' disease when acting in a combination.WEI Bin PENG QinKe ZHANG QuanWei LI ChenYao 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,2:6
5Design and experimental study of seed precise delivery mechanism for high-speed maize planter显示文摘Aiming at improving the seed spacing uniformity of maize planter at high forward speed,a seed precise delivery mechanism driven by electric motor has been developed and evaluated in laboratory.The mechanism was designed to deliver single seed from seed meter to furrow.Seed’s movement from the seed release point in a seed meter to the seed delivery cavity in the belt was analyzed,the mathematical model of seed movement in the seed precise delivery mechanism was established based on seed delivery time analysis.A mechanical prototype was designed and associated control system was developed.The performance contrast experiment was conducted between a traditional seed tube and newly developed seed precise delivery mechanism,and test results indicated that the qualities of feed index of the seed precise delivery mechanism were higher than those of the traditional seed tube delivery mechanism,and the coefficients of variation of the seed precise delivery mechanism were lower than those of the traditional seed tube delivery mechanism when the forward speed of planter was set at 10 km/h,12 km/h and 14 km/h,respectively.It indicated the seed precise delivery mechanism significantly improved seed spacing uniformity of maize planter compared with the traditional seed tube delivery mechanism.Quanwei Liu Tao Cui Dongxing Zhang Li Yang Yunxia Wang Xiantao He Mantao Wang 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,4:4

In order to mine the underlying biological knowledge, we analyze the conservativeness of DNA splice site adjacent sequences by clustering. Firstly, we propose a kind of DNA splice site sequences clustering method which is based on DBSCAN, and use four kinds of dissimilarity calculating methods. 7Effect of travel speed on seed spacing uniformity of corn seed meter显示文摘Both seeding performance of seed metering unit and travel speed of seed planter have significant effects on seeding quality,thereby affecting crop growth and yields.In order to determine the effects of different travel speeds on seed spacing uniformity,four different types of seed meters were evaluated at five different travel speeds on seed meter test bench and in field.The tested seed meters included a finger pickup seed meter,a scoop-wheel seed meter,an air-pressure type seed meter and an air-blowing type seed meter.The seeding performance of the horizontal distribution of seeds within a row was described by using the coefficient of variation,the quality of feed index,the multiple index and the miss-seeding index.Experiments were performed in laboratory and field,respectively.Results indicated that different travel speeds have statistically significant effects on seed spacing uniformity.The four types of seed meters performed better on the seed meter test bench than in the field.Coefficient of variation increases and quality of feed index decreases as the travel speed of seed planter increases.The best seed spacing uniformity was obtained with the air-pressure type seed meter,followed with the air-blowing type seed meter,the finger pickup seed meter and the scoop-wheel seed meter.There were considerable differences between the performances of the scoop-wheel seed meter in the bench test and field test;the seeding qualities were much better in the bench test than in the field test.The scoop-wheel seed meter is more sensitive to vibration than the other types of seed meters.Liu Quanwei He Xiantao Yang Li Zhang Dongxing Cui Tao Qu Zhe Yan Bingxin Wang Mantao Zhang Tianliang 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,4:2

9Fenton Pre-Oxidation Followed by Microbial Degradation for Removing Crude Oil from Contaminated Soil显示文摘Through the Fenton pre-oxidation followed by microbial degradation,this study gave full play to its advantages while avoiding its shortcomings for the remediation of crude oil contaminated soil.The Fenton reagent coupled with different volumes of H2O2 was applied to the oil contaminated soil and then the microbial agents were introduced to biodegrade the residual oil for 15 days.The correlation between the characteristics of residual oil in soil,the changes in soil physical-chemical property after the Fenton pre-oxidation,and the biodegradation were analyzed in this paper.The results show that the above factors are strongly correlated with the subsequent biodegradation rate,and the order of correlation is as follows:the ratio of TOC to NH4+-N(R^2=0.9513)>the ratio of light oil components to the heavy oil components(R^2=0.9095)>the proportion of hydrocarbons with carbon chain number of less than C23(R^2=0.8259)>the crude oil content(R^2=0.7603)>the soil pH(R^2=0.7492)>the number of microorganisms(R^2=0.6506).During the biodegradation and pre-oxidation reactions of heavy oil components,an appropriate C:N ratio turns out to be the most critical factor in this study.Gao Chunyang Zhang Yu Han Zhantao Song Quanwei Chen Changzhao Chen Hongkun Zheng Jin 2019China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2019,21,3:1

13QTL mapping for plant height and fruit branch number based on RIL population of upland cotton显示文摘Background:Plant height(PH)and fruit branch number(FBN)are important traits for improving yield and mechanical harvesting of cotton.In order to identify genes of PH and FBN in cotton germplasms to develop superior cultivars,quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for these traits were detected based on the phenotypic evaluation data in nine environments across four locations and 4 years and a previously reported genetic linkage map of an recombinant inbred line(RIL)population of upland cotton.Results:In total,53 QTLs of PH and FBN,were identified on 21 chromosomes of the cotton genome except chromosomes c02,c09-c11,and c22.For PH,27 QTLs explaining 3.81%–8.54%proportions of phenotypic variance were identified on 18 chromosomes except c02,c08-c12,c15,and c22.For FBN,26 QTLs explaining 3.23%–11.00%proportions of phenotypic variance were identified on 16 chromosomes except c02-c03,c06,c09-c11,c17,c22-c23,and c25.Eight QTLs were simultaneously identified in at least two environments.Three QTL clusters containing seven QTLs were identified on three chromosomes(c01,c18 and c21).Eleven QTLs were the same as previously reported ones,while the rest were newly identified.Conclusions:The QTLs and QTL clusters identified in the current study will be helpful to further understand the genetic mechanism of PH and FBN development of cotton and will enhance the development of excellent cultivars for mechanical managements in cotton production.LIU Ruixian XIAO Xianghui GONG Juwu LI Junwen ZHANG Zhen LIU Aiying LU Quanwei SHANG Haihong SHI Yuzhen GE Qun IQBAL Muhammad Sajid CHEN Quanjia YUAN Youlu GONG Wankui 2020Journal of Cotton Research2020,3,1:1
14Integrated multi-omics reveals the beneficial role of chlorogenic acid in improving the growth performance and immune function of immunologically stressed broilers显示文摘Intensive production can cause immunological stress in commercial broilers.Chlorogenic acid(CGA)regulates the intestinal microbiota,barrier function,and immune function in chickens.As complex interrelations regulate the dynamic interplay between gut microbiota,the host,and diverse health outcomes,the aim of this study was to elucidate the immunoregulatory mechanisms of CGA using multiomics approaches.A total of 240 one-day-old male broilers were assigned to a 2×2 factorial design with 2 CGA levels(0 or 500 mg/kg)either with or without dexamethasone(DEX)injection for a 21-day experimental period.Therefore,there were 4 dietary treatments:control,DEX,CGA,and DEX+CGA,with 6 replicates per treatment.CGA supplementation improved(P<0.05)growth performance,jejunal morphology,jejunal barrier function,and immune function in DEX-treated broilers.Moreover,in DEX+CGA-treated broilers,the increase in gut microbiome diversity(P<0.05)was consistent with a change in taxonomic composition,especially in the Clostridiales vadin BB60_group.Additionally,the levels of short-chain fatty acids increased remarkably(P<0.01)after CGA supplementation.This was consistent with the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis results that the“pyruvate fermentation to butanoate”pathway was more enriched(P<0.01)in the DEX+CGA group than in the DEX group.Proteomics revealed that CGA treatment increased the expression of several healthpromoting proteins,thymosin beta(TMSB4X)and legumain(LGMN),which were verified by multiple reaction monitoring.Metabolomics revealed that CGA treatment increased the expression of healthpromoting metabolites(2,4-dihydroxy benzoic acid and homogentisic acid).Proteomic and metabolic analyses showed that CGA treatment regulated the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)and mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathways.Western blotting results support these findings.Pearson’s correlation analyses showed correlations(P<0.01)between altered immune function,jejunal barrier function,different microbiota,proteins,and metabolites parameters.Overall,our data indicate that CGA treatment increased growth performance and improved the immunological functions of DEXtreated broilers by regulating gut microbiota and the PPAR and MAPK pathways.The results offer novel insights into a CGA-mediated improvement in immune function and intestinal health.Huawei Liu Xuemin Li Kai Zhang Xiaoguo Lv Quanwei Zhang Peng Chen Yang Wang Jinshan Zhao 2023Animal Nutrition2023,,3:1
15A Chan–Vese Model Based on the Markov Chain for Unsupervised Medical Image Segmentation显示文摘The accurate segmentation of medical images is crucial to medical care and research;however, many efficient supervised image segmentation methods require sufficient pixel level labels. Such requirement is difficult to meet in practice and even impossible in some cases, e.g., rare Pathoma images. Inspired by traditional unsupervised methods, we propose a novel Chan–Vese model based on the Markov chain for unsupervised medical image segmentation. It combines local information brought by superpixels with the global difference between the target tissue and the background. Based on the Chan–Vese model, we utilize weight maps generated by the Markov chain to model and solve the segmentation problem iteratively using the min-cut algorithm at the superpixel level.Our method exploits abundant boundary and local region information in segmentation and thus can handle images with intensity inhomogeneity and object sparsity. In our method, users gain the power of fine-tuning parameters to achieve satisfactory results for each segmentation. By contrast, the result from deep learning based methods is rigid.The performance of our method is assessed by using four Computerized Tomography(CT) datasets. 16Rapid Identification of a Candidate Gene Related to Fiber Strength Using a Superior Chromosome Segment Substitution Line from Gossypium hirsutum × Gossypium barbadense via Bulked Segregant RNA-Sequencing显示文摘Cotton is the most widely cultivated commercial crop producing natural fiber around the world.As a critical trait for fiber quality,fiber strength principally determined during the secondary wall thickening period.Based on the developed BC5F3:5 CSSLs(chromosome segment substitution lines)from Gossypium hirsutum CCRI36×G.barbadense Hai 1,the superior MBI9915 was chosen to construct the secondary segregated population BC7F2 with its recurrent parent CCRI36,which was subsequently subjected to Bulk segregant RNA-sequencing(BSR-seq)for rapid identification of candidate genes related to fiber strength.A total of 4 fiber-transcriptome libraries were separately constructed and sequenced,including two parents(CCRI36 and MBI9915)and two extreme pools at 20 DPA(days post anathesis).Through multiple comparisons,536 DEGs(differentially expressed genes)were overlapped at 20 DPA.Allelic-polymorphism comparison in mRNA sequences revealed 831 highly probable SNPs between two extreme pools related to fiber strength.Linkage analysis was performed between two extreme pools with SNP-index method.Eighteen correlated regions with 1981 annotation genes were obtained between two pools at 20 DPA,of which 12 common DEGs were similarly identified both between two parents and two pools.One gene(Gh_A07G0837)in the candidate region related to fiber strength was differentially expressed in both parents and extreme pools and involved in fiber strength development through reactive oxygen species(ROS)activity.Co-expression analysis of Gh_A07G0837 showed that Gh_A07G0837 may cooperate with other genes to regulate fiber strength.The reliability of BSR-seq results was validated by the quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)experiments on 5 common DGEs 20 DPA.Co-expressed analysis results indicated that there were some genes expressed especially low in MBI9915,resulting in good fiber strength.Focusing on bulked segregant analysis on the extreme pools derived from superior CSSL population,this study indicates that BSR-seq can be efficiently applied on rapid identification of candidate genes related to fiber strength,which make contributions to our understanding of fiber quality formation in cotton.Qi Zhang Pengtao Li Aiying Liu Shaoqi Li Quanwei Lu Qun Ge Junwen Li Wankui Gong Xiaoying Deng Haihong Shang Yuzhen Shi Youlu Yuan 2021Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,3:0
17A rigid-flexible coupling finite element model of coupler for analyzing train instability behavior during collision显示文摘Rail vehicles generate huge longitudinal impact loads in collisions.If unreasonable matching exists between the compressive strength of the intermediate coupler and the structural strength of the car body,the risk of car body structure damage and train derailment will increase.Herein,a four-stage rigid-flexible coupling finite element model of the coupler is established considering the coupler buckling load.The influence of the coupler buckling load on the train longitudinal-vertical-hori-zontal buckling behavior was studied,and the mechanism of the train horizontal buckling instability in train collisions was revealed.Analysis results show that an intermediate coupler should be designed to ensure that the actual buckling load is less than the compressive load when the car body structure begins to deform plastically.The actual buckling load of the coupler and the asymmetry of the structural strength of the car body in the lateral direction are two important influencing factors for the lateral buckling of a train collision.If the strength of the two sides of the car body structure in the lateral direction is asymmetrical,the deformation on the weaker side will be larger,and the end of the car body will begin to deflect under the action of the coupler force,which in turn causes the train to undergo sawtooth buckling.Jingke Zhang Tao Zhu Bing Yang Xiaorui Wang Shoune Xiao Guangwu Yang Yanwen Liu Quanwei Che 2023Railway Engineering Science2023,31,4:0

20Plotinus:A Satellite Internet Digital Twin System显示文摘The development of space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGIN) requires sophisticated satellite Internet emulation tools that can handle complex, dynamic topologies and offer in-depth analysis. Existing emulation platforms struggle with challenges like the need for detailed implementation across all network layers, real-time response, and scalability. This paper proposes a digital twin system based on microservices for satellite Internet emulation,namely Plotinus,which aims to solve these problems. Plotinus features a modular design, allowing for easy replacement of the physical layer to emulate different aerial vehicles and analyze channel interference. It also enables replacing of path computation methods to simplify testing and deploying algorithms. In particular, Plotinus allows for real-time emulation with live network traffic,enhancing practical network models. The evaluation result shows Plotinus’s effective emulation of dynamic satellite networks with real-world devices.
