11Mathematical modeling of atmospheric internal waves phenomenon and its solution by Elzaki Adomian decomposition method显示文摘This article involves the study of atmospheric internal waves phenomenon,also referred to as gravity waves.This phenomenon occurs inside the fluid,not on the surface.The model is based on a shallow fluid hypothesis represented by a system of nonlinear partial differential equations.The basic assumption of the shallow flow model is that the horizontal size is much larger than the vertical size.Atmospheric internal waves can be perfectly represented by this model as the waves are spread over a large horizontal area.Here we used the Elzaki Adomian Decomposition Method(EADM)to obtain the solution for the considered model along with its convergence analysis.The Adomian decomposition method together with the Elzaki transform gives the solution in a convergent series without any linearization or perturbation.Comparisons are built between the results obtained by EADM and HAM to examine the accuracy of the proposed method.Archana C.Varsoliwala Twinkle R.Singh 2022Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2022,7,3:0

13Floristic composition and structure of the Kibate Forest along environmental gradients in Wonchi,Southwestern Ethiopia显示文摘Dry evergreen montane forests in Ethiopia are severely threatened.The status of species composition and structure of forest vegetation are important indicators to understand the trends of threats on local plant communities.In the present study,we examined the floristic composition and structure of the Kibate Forest,Wonchi Highland,Ethiopia along environmental gradients.Sixty-six(30 m×30 m)plots were established every 100 m interval along altitudinal gradients(2811‒3073 m a.s.l.)in five transect lines for vegetation and environmental data collection.In total,125 vascular plant species belonging to 104 genera and 52 families were identified.Eighteen species(14%)were endemic to Ethiopia and Eritrea.The two most dominant families,Asteraceae(29 species)and Lamiaceae(eight species)accounted for 30%of the total number of species.The highest number of species(54%)was herbs.Four major community types(viz.,Olinia rochetiana-Myrsine melanophloeos,Ilex mitis-Galiniera saxifraga,Erica arborea-Protea gaguedi,and Hagenia abyssinica-Juniperus procera)were identified.The highest species richness,evenness,diversity,and importance value index were in community types 2 and 4.About 82%of the species and all endemic taxa except five were recorded in these two community types.The most dominant woody species were O.rochetiana,E.arborea,Olea europaea subsp.cuspidata,Myrica salicifolia,I.mitis var.mitis,and H.abyssinica with different patterns of population structure.The results show that there was a weak correlation between species richness and altitude.Our findings confirm that environmental variables both with interactions(such as altitude)and without interactions(such as livestock grazing)significantly(p<0.05)affect species richness.Anthropogenic activities and overgrazing by livestock appear to be the main threat in community types 2 and 3.Urgent management practices and conservation measures such as prohibiting forest clearing and overgrazing and planting indigenous trees through community participation should be considered in community types that are rich in endemic species but are highly threatened.Misganaw Meragiaw Zerihun Woldu Vegard Martinsen Bal R.Singh 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:0
14Acute Toxicity and Cardio-Respiratory Effects of 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose: A Promising Radio Sensitiser显示文摘Objective To evaluate the acute toxicity of 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2DG) by oral (p.o.) and intravenous (i.v.) routes, and also the cardio-respiratory effects following high doses of 2DG in animal models. Methods The LD50 of 2DG (in water) was determined in rats and mice by p.o. route and in mice by i.v. route. The effect of 2-DG (250 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1000 mg/kg, i.v.) was studied on various cardio-respiratory parameters viz., mean arterial blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate in anaesthetised rats. The effect of 2DG (500 mg/kg, 1000 mg/kg, and 2000 mg/kg, p.o.) was also studied on various respiratory parameters viz., respiratory rate and tidal volume in conscious rats and mice using a computer program. Results The p.o. LD50 of 2DG was found to be >8000 mg/kg in mice and rats, and at this dose no death was observed. The LD50 in mice by i.v. route was found to be 8000 mg/kg. At this dose 2 out of 4 mice died and the death occurred within 6 h. A significant increase in the body weight was observed after p.o. administration of 2DG in rats at 500 mg/kg, 1000 mg/kg, and 2000 mg/kg doses. There was no significant change in the body weight at 4000 mg/kg and 8000 mg/kg by the p.o. route in rats and up to 8000 mg/kg by p.o. as well as i.v. routes in mice. Intravenous administration of 2DG (250 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1000 mg/kg) in anaesthetised rats showed a time-dependent decrease in the mean arterial blood pressure. There was no change in the heart rate in any of the treatment groups. The tidal volume was not changed significantly by p.o administration in conscious rats, but a significant decrease in the respiratory frequency at 500 mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg doses was observed. In the mice also there was no change in the tidal volume after p.o, administration, but the respiratory frequency decreased significantly at 2000 mg/kg dose. 15Investigation of current collapse and recovery time due to deep level defect traps inβ-Ga2O3 HEMT显示文摘In this paper,drain current transient characteristics ofβ-Ga2O3 high electron mobility transistor(HEMT)are studied to access current collapse and recovery time due to dynamic population and de-population of deep level traps and interface traps.An approximately 10 min,and 1 h of recovery time to steady-state drain current value is measured under 1 ms of stress on the gate and drain electrodes due to iron(Fe)–dopedβ-Ga2O3 substrate and germanium(Ge)–dopedβ-Ga2O3 epitaxial layer respectively.On-state current lag is more severe due to widely reported defect trap EC–0.82 e V over EC–0.78 e V,-0.75 e V present in Iron(Fe)-dopedβ-Ga2O3 bulk crystals.A negligible amount of current degradation is observed in the latter case due to the trap level at EC–0.98 e V.It is found that occupancy of ionized trap density varied mostly under the gate and gate–source area.This investigation of reversible current collapse phenomenon and assessment of recovery time inβ-Ga2O3 HEMT is carried out through 2 D device simulations using appropriate velocity and charge transport models.This work can further help in the proper characterization ofβ-Ga2O3 devices to understand temporary and permanent device degradation.R.Singh T.R.Lenka R.T.Velpula B.Jain H.Q.T.Bui H.P.T.Nguyen 2020Journal of Semiconductors2020,41,10:0
16Mathematical modeling of tsunami wave propagation at mid ocean and its amplification and run-up on shore显示文摘The paper deals with the study of the mathematical model of tsunami wave propagation along a coast-line of an ocean.The model is based on shallow-water assumption which is represented by a system of non-linear partial differential equations.In this study,we employ the Elzaki Adomian Decomposition Method(EADM)to successfully obtain the solution for the proposed model for different coastal slopes and ocean depths.How tsunami wave velocity and run-up height are affected by the coast slope and sea depth are demonstrated.The Adomian Decomposition Method together with Elzaki transform allows for solutions,without the need of any linearization or perturbation,in the form of rapidly converging series.The obtained numerical results for tsunami wave height and velocity are very close match to the real physical phenomenon of tsunami.Archana C.Varsoliwala Twinkle R.Singh 2021Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2021,6,4:0
