1Visual Fixation Assessment in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness Based on Brain-Computer Interface显示文摘Visual fixation is an item in the visual function subscale of the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R).Sometimes clinicians using the behavioral scales find it difficult to detect because of the motor impairment in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs). Braincomputer interface(BCI) can be used to improve clinical assessment because it directly detects the brain response to an external stimulus in the absence of behavioral expression. In this study, we designed a BCI system to assist the visual fixation assessment of DOC patients. The results from 15 patients indicated that three showed visual fixation in both CRS-R and BCI assessments and one did not show such behavior in the CRS-R assessment but achieved significant online accuracy in the BCI assessment. The results revealed that electroencephalography-based BCI can detect the brain response for visual fixation. 2Abnormal Effective Connectivity of the Anterior Forebrain Regions in Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘A number of studies have indicated that disorders of consciousness result from multifocal injuries as well as from the impaired functional and anatomical connectivity between various anterior forebrain regions.However, the specific causal mechanism linking these regions remains unclear. In this study, we used spectral dynamic causal modeling to assess how the effective connections(ECs) between various regions differ between individuals. Next, we used connectome-based predictive modeling to evaluate the performance of the ECs in predicting the clinical scores of DOC patients. We found increased ECs from the striatum to the globus pallidus as well as from the globus pallidus to the posterior cingulate cortex, and decreased ECs from the globus pallidus to the thalamus and from the medial prefrontal cortex to the striatum in DOC patients as compared to healthy controls.Prediction of the patients' outcome was effective using the negative ECs as features. In summary, the present study highlights a key role of the thalamo-basal ganglia-cortical loop in DOCs and supports the anterior forebrain mesocircuit hypothesis. 4Radiation reaction induced spiral attractors in ultra-intense colliding laser beams显示文摘The radiation reaction effects on electron dynamics in counter-propagating circularly polarized laser beams are investigated through the linearization theorem and the results are in great agreement with numeric solutions.For the first time,the properties of fixed points in electron phase-space were analyzed with linear stability theory,showing that center nodes will become attractors if the classical radiation reaction is considered.Electron dynamics are significantly affected by the properties of the fixed points and the electron phase-space densities are found to be increasing exponentially near the attractors.The density growth rates are derived theoretically and further verified by particle-in-cell sim-ulations,which can be detected in experiments to explore the effects of radiation reaction qualitatively.The attractor can also facilitate realizing a series of nanometer-scaled flying electron slices via adjusting the colliding laser frequencies.Zheng Gong Ronghao Hu Yinren Shou Bin Qiao Chiaer Chen Furong Xu Xiantu He Xueqing Yan 2016Matter and Radiation at Extremes2016,1,6:2

7A strategy for improving sinterability and electrical properties of gadolinium-doped ceria electrolyte using calcium oxide additive显示文摘In this study,Gd and Ca co-doped ceria electrolytes with the compositions of Ce_(0.8)Gd_(0.2-x)Ca_(x)O_(2-δ)(x=0-0.08) were prepared by a novel gel-casting method.The effects of the addition of Ca on the phase compositions,sintering behavio r,and electrical prope rties of samples were investigated.According to the scanning electron microscope results and relative density measurement results,it is found that the addition of particular quantity of CaO can promote the sintering densification with a uniform grain growth.When the sintering temperature is 1400℃,the sample with 6 mol% addition of Ca has the highest relative density,which reaches 98.5% of the theoretical density.The electrical properties testing results confirm that the electrical conductivity of the samples can be improved significantly by doping appropriate CaO content.The maximum conductivity of 0.082 S/cm can be obtained at 800℃ in the Ce_(0.8)Gd_(0.12)-Ca_(0.06)O_(1.87) sample.It suggests that CaO can be used as an effective sintering aid and a codopant on the optimization of electrical properties for ceria-based electrolytes.Jihai Cheng Ronghao Xu Yinchao Shi 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,6:1
