| 2 | Status of glycosylated hemoglobin and prediction of glycemic control among patients with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes in North China:a multicenter observational study显示文摘Background:Blood glucose control is closely related to type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)prognosis.This multicenter study aimed to investigate blood glucose control among patients with insulin-treated T2DM in North China and explore the application value of combining an elastic network(EN)with a machine-learning algorithm to predict glycemic control.Methods:Basic information,biochemical indices,and diabetes-related data were collected via questionnaire from 2787 consecutive participants recruited from 27 centers in six cities between January 2016 and December 2017.An EN regression was used to address variable collinearity.Then,three common machine learning algorithms(random forest[RF],support vector machine[SVM],and back propagation artificial neural network[BP-ANN])were used to simulate and predict blood glucose status.Additionally,a stepwise logistic regression was performed to compare the machine learning models.Results:The well-controlled blood glucose rate was 45.82%in North China.The multivariable analysis found that hypertension history,atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease history,exercise,and total cholesterol were protective factors in glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc)control,while central adiposity,family history,T2DM duration,complications,insulin dose,blood pressure,and hypertension were risk factors for elevated HbAlc.Before the dimensional reduction in the EN,the areas under the curve of RF,SVM,and BP were 0.73,0.61,and 0.70,respectively,while these figures increased to 0.75,0.72,and 0.72,respectively,after dimensional reduction.Moreover,the EN and machine learning models had higher sensitivity and accuracy than the logistic regression models(the sensitivity and accuracy of logistic were 0.52 and 0.56;RF:0.79,0.70;SVM:0.84,0.73;BP-ANN:0.78,0.73,respectively).Conclusions:More than half of T2DM patients in North China had poor glycemic control and were at a higher risk of developing diabetic complications.The EN and machine learning algorithms are alternative choices,in addition to the traditional logistic model,for building predictive models of blood glucose control in patients with T2DM. | Jiao Wang Meng-Yang Wang Hui Wang Hong-Wei Liu Rui Lu Tong-Qing Duan Chang-Ping Li Zhuang Cui Yuan-Yuan Liu Yuan-Jun Lyu Jun Ma | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,1: | 19 |

The model-based methods are convenient and straightforward. But these methods ignore some factors and may lead to less accurate results. This is especially true when considering multi-scale topographic features of engineering rough surfaces. Based on artificially generated rough surfaces, the deterministic contact analysis of two 3D rough surfaces is conducted by the finite element method(FEM). The calculations show that when the separation between surfaces reduces, results of classic model-based methods are quite different from those of this study, especially when the roughness distribution and textures are considered. | 17 | Analysis of the correlation between the longitudinal trajectory of SOFA scores and prognosis in patients with sepsis at 72 hour after admission based on group trajectory modeling显示文摘Background:To identify the distinct trajectories of the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)scores at 72 h for patients with sepsis in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care(MIMIC)-IV database and determine their effects on mortality and adverse clinical outcomes.Methods:A retrospective cohort study was carried out involving patients with sepsis from the MIMIC-IV database.Group-based trajectory modeling(GBTM)was used to identify the distinct trajectory groups for the SOFA scores in patients with sepsis in the intensive care unit(ICU).The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to investigate the relationship between the longitudinal change trajectory of the SOFA score and mortality and adverse clinical outcomes.Results:A total of 16,743 patients with sepsis were included in the cohort.The median survival age was 66 years(interquartile range:54-76 years).The 7-day and 28-day in-hospital mortality were 6.0%and 17.6%,respectively.Five different trajectories of SOFA scores according to the model fitting standard were determined:group 1(32.8%),group 2(30.0%),group 3(17.6%),group 4(14.0%)and group 5(5.7%).Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses showed that,for different clinical outcomes,trajectory group 1 was used as the reference,while trajectory groups 2-5 were all risk factors associated with the outcome(P<0.001).Subgroup analysis revealed an interaction between the two covariates of age and mechanical ventilation and the different trajectory groups of patients’SOFA scores(P<0.05).Conclusion:This approach may help identify various groups of patients with sepsis,who may be at different levels of risk for adverse health outcomes,and provide subgroups with clinical importance. | Rui Yang Didi Han Luming Zhang Tao Huang Fengshuo Xu Shuai Zheng Haiyan Yin Jun Lyu | 2022 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,1: | 1 |
| 18 | High-Order Statistics of Temperature Fluctuations in an Unstable Atmospheric Surface Layer over Grassland显示文摘Skewness(S) and kurtosis(K) of temperature in the surface layer over a grassland are investigated under unstable thermal stratifications. We find that both skewness and kurtosis generally obey Monin–Obukhov similarity theory and tend to be constant values(1.5 and 5.3, respectively) when the stability parameter z/L <-2. Quantitative formulas of the similarity functions are proposed. The temperature probability density function(PDF) is close to Gaussian in near neutral stratification and non-Gaussian in unstable stratification. The influence of coherent motions on the PDF behavior is analyzed using the quadrant analysis technique. It shows that PDF behaviors are controlled by ejections and sweeps. | 20 | Discharge rate consistency of each channel for UAV-based pneumatic granular fertilizer spreader显示文摘Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are widely being used to spread granular fertilizer in China.Granular fertilizer spreaders equipped with UAVs are mainly centrifugal disc-type and pneumatic.The multichannel pneumatic granular fertilizer spreaders(MPGFSs)have a banded fertilizer deposition distribution pattern,which are more suitable for variable rate fertilization with high precision requirement than the circular deposition distribution pattern of disc-type granular fertilizer spreaders(DGFSs).However,the existing MPGFS has the disadvantage of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,which affects the uniformity of fertilization.In order to explore the causes of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,the discrete element method(DEM)and bench test were performed to analysis the discharge process of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus and distribution of fertilizer in axial direction of fluted roller.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)was used to simulate the airflow field of pneumatic system to analyze the influence of airflow on the movement of fertilizer particles.The simulation results of the discharge process of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus showed that the filling velocity at the axial ends of the fluted roller fertilizing apparatus was lower than that of the middle.The reason was that the filling capacity was weak near the wall.The simulated results of the airflow field without partitions showed that the airflow provided by the axial flow fan was rotational,and this caused the particles to move irregularly in the throat,resulting in inconsistency discharge rate of each channel.Based on the analysis of reasons of inconsistent discharge rate of each channel,a MPGFS with partitions in the throat was developed.The discharge rate bench tests were carried out to optimize the partition spacing parameters,and fertilization test was performed to test the performance of the improved MPGFS.The discharge rate test results showed better consistency with partition.The coefficient of variation(CV)of the discharge rate of each channel was 20.16%without the partition and 7.70%with the optimal partition.The fertilizer spreading uniformity bench test results shown that the CV of spreading uniformity of MPGFS without partitions was 15.32%,and that MPGFS with partitions was 8.69%.The partitions design was beneficial to improve the consistency of each channel discharge rate and the uniformity of fertilization.The finding can provide a strong reference to design the MPGFS. | Xunwei Wang Rui Jiang Zhiyan Zhou Cancan Song Xiwen Luo Ruifeng Bao Zichen Lyu Junhao Huang Jianqin Lin | 2023 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4: | 1 |
