| 3 | Optical topologicallattices of Bloch-type skyrmion and meron topologies显示文摘Optical skyrmions, quasiparticles that are characterized by the topologically nontrivial vectorial textures of optical parameters such as the electromagnetic field, Stokes parameters, and spin angular momentum, have aroused great attention recently. New dimensions for optical information processing, transfer, and storage have become possible, and developing multiple schemes for manipulating the topological states of skyrmions, thus, is urgent.Here we propose an approach toward achieving dynamic modulation of skyrmions via changing the field symmetry and adding chirality. We demonstrate that field symmetry governs the skyrmionic transformation between skyrmions and merons, whereas material chirality modulates the twist degree of fields and spins and takes control of the Néel-type–Bloch-type skyrmionic transition. Remarkably, the enantioselective twist of skyrmions and merons results from the longitudinal spin arising from the chirality-induced splitting of the hyperboloid in the momentum space. Our investigation, therefore, acts to enrich the portfolio of optical quasiparticles. | 4 | Multi-grained system integration for hybrid-paradigm brain-inspired computing显示文摘Hybrid neuromorphic computing supporting the prevailing artificial neural networks and neuroscience-inspired models/algorithms offers substantial flexibility for cross-paradigm model integration.It is one of the most promising technologies for accelerating intelligence development,ultimately contributing to artificial general intelligence development.Recently,an increasing number of hybrid neuromorphic computing chips have been reported,but such research focuses on chip design without demonstrating systems for large-scale workloads.To this end,we construct a multi-grained system based on many Tianjic chips,presenting a large-scale system for hybrid-paradigm brain-inspired computing.With different numbers of chips and different connection topologies,we develop a Tianjic card and a Tianjic board as the infrastructure for building embedded systems and cloud servers,respectively.Extensive measurements of the communication latency,computational latency,and power consumption evidence the superior potential of Tianjic systems for exploring brain-inspired computing for artificial general intelligence. | Jing PEI Lei DENG Cheng MA Xue LIU Luping SHI | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,4: | 1 |

| 7 | Land/groove optical recording with GeTe/Sb2Te3 superlattice-like structure显示文摘A superlattice-like (SLL) structure was applied to phawe-change optical recording. The recording layer cousisting of alternating thin layers of two different phase-change materials, Ge Te and Sb2Te3, were grown by magnetron sputtering on polycarbonate substrates. Land/groove optical recording was adopted to suppress crosstalk arid obtain a large track density. Dynamic properties of the SLL disc were investigated with the shortest 1T pulse duration of 8 ns. Clear eye pattern was obsored after 10000 direct overwrite cycles. Erasability above 20 dB wins achieved at constant linear velocity of 19 m/s. Carrier-noise ratio (CNR) kept above 46 dB when the recording frequency reaches 21 MHz. | 8 | Hybrid neural state machine for neural network显示文摘The integration of computer-science-oriented and neuroscience-oriented approaches is believed to be a promising way for the development of artificial general intelligence(AGI).Recently,a hybrid Tianjic chip that integrates both approaches has been reported,providing a general platform to facilitate the research of AGI.The control algorithm for handling various neural networks is the key to this platform;however,it is still primitive.In this work,we propose a hybrid neural state machine(H-NSM)framework that can efficiently cooperate with artificial neural networks and spiking neural networks and control the workflows to accomplish complex tasks.The H-NSM receives input from different types of networks,makes decisions according to the fusing of various information,and sends control signals to the sub-network or actuator.The H-NSM can be trained to adapt to context-aware tasks or sequential tasks,thereby improving system robustness.The training algorithm works correctly even if only 50%of the forced state information is provided.It achieved performance comparable to the optimum algorithm on the Tower of Hanoi task and achieved multiple tasks control on a self-driving bicycle.After only 50 training epochs,the transfer accuracy reaches 100%in the test case.It proves that H-NSM has the potential to advance control logic for hybrid systems,paving the way for designing complex intelligent systems and facilitating the research towards AGI. | Lei TIAN Zhenzhi WU Shuang WU Luping SHI | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,3: | 0 |
