1BEHAVIOR OF AIR-ENTRAINED CONCRETE AFTER FREEZE-THAW CYCLES显示文摘The experimental study of air-entrained concrete specimens subjected to different cycles of freeze-thaw was completed.The dynamic modulus of elasticity,weight loss,the cubic compressive strength,compressive strength,tensile strength and cleavage strength of air-entrained concrete were measured after 0,100,200,300,400 cycles of freeze-thaw.The experimental results showed that the dynamic modulus of elasticity and strength decreased as the freeze-thaw was repeated.The inffuences of freeze-thaw cycles on the mechanical properties,the dynamic modulus of elasticity and weight loss were analyzed according to the experimental results.It can serve as a reference for the maintenance,design and the life prediction of dams,hydraulic structures,offshore structures,concrete roads and bridges in northern cold regions.Huaishuai Shang Yupu Song Jinping Ou 2009Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2009,22,3:11
2Effect of Freeze-thaw Cycles on Bond Strength between Steel Bars and Concrete显示文摘The effect of freezing and thawing cycles on mechanical properties of concrete(compressive, splitting tensile strength)was experimentally investigated.According to the pullout test data of three kinds of deformed steel bars,the bond stress-slip curves after freezing and thawing were obtained.The empirical equations of peak bond strength were proposed that the damage accounted for effects of freezing and thawing cycle.Meanwhile,the mechanism of bond deterioration between steel bars and concrete after freezing and thawing cycles was discussed.All these conclusions will be useful to the durability design and reliability calculation of RC structures in cold region.JI Xiaodong SONG Yupu LIU Yuan 2008Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2008,23,4:5
3Immune responses of a designed HIV-1 DNA vaccine on rhesus monkeys显示文摘An effective HIV-1 vaccine will be the ultimate solution for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, though HAART plays important roles in treating the disease. In this study, a large-scale recombinant DNA plasmid containing a designed HIV-1 multi-epitope- p24 chimeric gene was prepared and purified. Rhesus monkeys were then inoculated muscularly with the plasmid for four times in week 0, 4, 8 and 18. Whole blood was collected two weeks after the third and fourth inoculation, followed by serum and pe- ripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) separation. The CTL activity and proliferation of PBMCs stimu- lated by macaque MHC-I-restricted HIV-1 CTL epi- tope peptide were analyzed by MTT and LDH release assay, respectively. Th1 cytokines in supernatant of cultured PBMC stimulated by HIV-1 CTL epitope peptide and anti-HIV-1 antibody in serum were as- sayed by ELISA. The results showed that increased CTL target-killing activity, higher secretion of Th1 cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-2) and promoted proliferative reaction of monkey PBMCs stimulated by HIV-1 CTL epitope peptide were detected in the immunization group inoculated by the recombinant DNA vaccine for three times, which were further enhanced by the fourth inoculation. At the same time, HIV-1 specific antibody in serum of immunized monkeys was higher than that in controls. 5Behavior of Deformation and Strength of Concrete Under Biaxial Stresses显示文摘The study of the behavior of concrete under biaxial stresses is essential to the design of offshore concrete platforms. Using the multiaxial test apparatus developed by the authors, the deformation and strength of concrete under biaxial stresses are studied experimentally. Based on the test data, an endochronic damage constitutive model and a failure criterion are proposed. 14Seismic Behaviour of Beam-Column Joints of Precast and Partial Steel Reinforced Concrete显示文摘A beam-column joint of precast and partial steel reinforced concrete( PPSRC) is proposed for precast reinforced concrete frames. The PPSRC consists of partial steel and reinforced concrete. The partial steel is located in the core joint region and the connections between concrete members. This paper presents an experimental study of a series of PPSRC specimens. These specimens are tested under low cyclic loading.Experimental results demonstrate that the bearing capacity of the PPSRC specimens is 3 times that of the ordinary reinforced concrete( RC) beam-column joints. The strength and stiffness degradation rates are slower compared with that of the RC beam-column joints. In addition,the strength of the core joint region and the connections is higher than other parts of the PPSRC specimens. Beam failure occurs firstly for the PPSRC specimens,followed by column failure and connections failure.
