| 8 | Background Error Covariance Statistics of Hydrometeor Control Variables Based on Gaussian Transform显示文摘Use of data assimilation to initialize hydrometeors plays a vital role in numerical weather prediction(NWP).To directly analyze hydrometeors in data assimilation systems from cloud-sensitive observations,hydrometeor control variables are necessary.Common data assimilation systems theoretically require that the probability density functions(PDFs)of analysis,background,and observation errors should satisfy the Gaussian unbiased assumptions.In this study,a Gaussian transform method is proposed to transform hydrometeors to more Gaussian variables,which is modified from the Softmax function and renamed as Quasi-Softmax transform.The Quasi-Softmax transform method then is compared to the original hydrometeor mixing ratios and their logarithmic transform and Softmax transform.The spatial distribution,the non-Gaussian nature of the background errors,and the characteristics of the background errors of hydrometeors in each method are studied.Compared to the logarithmic and Softmax transform,the Quasi-Softmax method keeps the vertical distribution of the original hydrometeor mixing ratios to the greatest extent.The results of the D′Agostino test show that the hydrometeors transformed by the Quasi-Softmax method are more Gaussian when compared to the other methods.The Gaussian transform has been added to the control variable transform to estimate the background error covariances.Results show that the characteristics of the hydrometeor background errors are reasonable for the Quasi-Softmax method.The transformed hydrometeors using the Quasi-Softmax transform meet the Gaussian unbiased assumptions of the data assimilation system,and are promising control variables for data assimilation systems. | Tao SUN Yaodeng CHEN Deming MENG Haiqin CHEN | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,5: | 1 |
| 9 | Safety and feasibility of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal and gastric cancer under the Chinese multi-site practice policy:admittance standards of competence are needed显示文摘Background:The multi-site practice(MSP)policy has been practiced in China over 10 years.This study aimed to investigate the safety and feasibility of performing laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer(LSCRC)and gastric cancer(LSGC)under the Chinese MSP policy.Methods:We collected and analysed the data from 1,081 patients who underwent LSCRC or LSGC performed by one gastrointestinal surgeon in his original hospital(n=573)and his MSP institutions(n=508)between January 2017 and December 2020.Baseline demographics,intraoperative outcomes,post-operative recovery,and pathological results were compared between the original hospital and MSP institutions,as well as between MSP institutions with and without specific competence(surgical skill,operative instrument,perioperative multi-discipline team).Results:In our study,690 patients underwent LSCRC and 391 patients underwent LSGC.The prevalence of post-operative complications was comparable for LSCRC(11.5%vs 11.1%,P=0.89)or LSGC(15.2%vs 12.6%,P=0.46)between the original hospital and MSP institutions.However,patients in MSP institutions without qualified surgical assistant(s)and adequate instruments experienced longer operative time and greater intraoperative blood loss.The proportion of patients with inadequate lymph-node yield was significantly higher in MSP institutions than in the original hospital for both LSCRC(11.5%vs 21.2%,P<0.01)and LSGC(9.8%vs 20.5%,P<0.01).Conclusion:For an experienced gastrointestinal surgeon,performing LSCRC and LSGC outside his original hospital under the MSP policy is safe and feasible,but relies on the precondition that the MSP institutions are equipped with qualified surgical skills,adequate operative instruments,and complete perioperative management. | Zhenghao Cai Haiqin Song Zhenfeng Huang Abraham Fingerhut Ximo Xu Hao Zhong Zhigang Li Yingjie Zhang Dachong Sha Dandan Bao Haibo Wang Binghua Cai Shangbo Hua Yanhui Zhang Jianguang Sun Ke Ye Jianwen Li Yong Lu Bo Feng | 2022 | Gastroenterology Report2022,10,1: | 0 |
| 10 | Highly efficient sono-piezo-photo synergistic catalysis in bismuth layered ferroelectrics via finely distinguishing sonochemical and electromechanochemical processes显示文摘Ultrasonic stimulation induced polarization behaviors in ferroelectric materials have been extensively explored in catalytic degradations.However,the ultrasonic wave similarly can realize dye degradation by the sonocatalysis behavior,which is always neglected in most reports on in-situ ultrasound-induced piezoelectric catalysis,so that people might overestimate piezocatalytic contributions.For this,we designed a series of visible light sensitive bismuth layered ferroelectric materials(BLFMs),M_(0.5)Bi_(2.5)Nb_(2)O_(9)(MBN,M=Li,Na,and K).It is found that the cavitation-induced degradation rates of Rhodamine B(RhB)strongly depend mechanical stirring speeds under a fixed ultrasonic power,which gradually increases with it,and reaches 77.9%(500 rpm and 3 h).Under lower stirring speed and reaction time(<50 rpm and 2 h),the cavitation effect is almost negligible,only piezocatalysis behavior occurs,which can be used as a key condition to distinguish the piezocatalysis and sonocatalysis.In particular,the degradation rate constant of Na_(0.5)Bi_(2.5)Nb_(2)O_(9) catalyst reaches up to 4.943×10^(-2) min^(-1) by the coupling of sonocatalysis,piezocatalysis and photocatalysis,which is much higher than that of single photocatalysis(0.491×10^(-2) min^(-1)),piezocatalytic(1.6×10^(-3) min^(-1)),and sonocatalysis(0.756×10^(-2) min^(-1)).These results may provide a feasible strategy of further improving catalytic degradation efficiency,and accurately determining the sonocatalysis and piezocatalysis contribution. | Lizhen Lu Nan Liang Haiqin Sun Qiwei Zhang Xihong Hao | 2022 | Journal of Materiomics2022,8,1: | 0 |
