1Metallomics in environmental and health related research:Current status and perspectives显示文摘Metals and metalloids play distinct roles in human health,either beneficial or toxic,depending on their concentrations and species.There is an increasing interest in metals uptake,trafficking,function,and exertion in microorganisms to maintain and advance human health.Metallomics,an emerging research area,focuses on elucidation of metals/metalloids location,distribution,speciation,and behavior in living organisms.This paper briefly summarized the recent progress on the methodology development of metallomics including various techniques,i.e.multiple dimensional liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LC-ICPMS),gel electrophoresis-laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(GE-LA-ICPMS),synchrotron X-ray fluorescent spectroscopy(XFS),and the applications of metallomics in environmental and health care.HU LiGang HE Bin WANG YuChuan JIANG GuiBin SUN HongZhe 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2:2

6Polymeric architectures of bismuth citrate based on dimeric building blocks显示文摘Four bismuth complexes, (H2En)[Bi2(cit)2(H2O)4/3]·(H2O)x (1), (H2En)3[Bi2(cit)2Cl4]·(H2O)x (2), (HPy)2[Bi2(cit)2(H2O)8/5]·(H2O)x (3) and (H2En)[Bi2(cit)2](H2O)x (4) [cit = citrate4-; En = ethylenediamine; Py = pyridine] have been synthesized and crystallized. The crystal structures reveal that the basic building blocks in all of these complexes are bismuth citrate dimeric units which combine to form polymeric architectures. The embedded protonated ethylenediamine and pyridine moieties in the polymeric frameworks have been identified by X-ray crystallography and solid-state cross polarization/magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) 13C NMR. Based on the framework of complex 1, a structural model of a clinically used antiulcer drug, ranitidine bismuth citrate (RBC) was generated. 18Systematic exploration of the applicability of the idiomatic vapor balance rule to distillation column consolidation显示文摘For N-component distillation(N≥3),consolidation between different column sections is an inevitable manipulation when synthesizing complex distillation configurations.In the consolidation,the idiomatic vapor balance(IVB)rule,in which the larger vapor flowrate in the two columns before consolidation will be chosen as the balanced vapor flowrate at the consolidation point,has been widely used.However,the applicability of the IVB rule has not been verified,which is of essential importance to the accuracy of the distillation configuration synthesis.In the present study,the applicability of the IVB rule to distillation column consolidation was systematically explored by rigorous method for the first time.First,the separation of ideal and non-ideal three-component mixtures with variable compositions was studied,and the optimized configurations before and after consolidation were determined by a rigorous method.The results indicated that for the separation of an ideal mixture,the IVB rule was applicable for the whole composition range,while for the separation of a non-ideal mixture,the IVB rule was only applicable for very limited composition range.Finally,two cases of synthesizing distillation configurations for the separation of non-ideal mixtures were studied to verify the remarkable deviations the IVB rule may cause.The results indicated that the applicability of the shortcut method using the IVB rule to the distillation configuration synthesis depended on the composition of the non-ideal mixture,and a remarkable error might result and the truly optimal configuration might be missed if the IVB rule is applied to a non-ideal mixture.Shuo Zhang Yifan Sun Yiqing Luo Hongzhe Hou Xigang Yuan 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,8:1
19Urease inactivation by an unusual GroES chaperonin显示文摘It remains uncovered yet how the common gastric pathogen,Helicobacter pylori,survives through the acidic barrier and the immune response simultaneously in the stomach.Herein we report a unique GroES chaperonin that effectively inactivates Helicobacter pylori urease in Escherichia coli model.Such a function depends on the quaternary structure as well as the metal binding at the C terminus.Surprisingly,the C-terminal metal capacity seems not closely relevant to the apparent urease inactivation.Our findings have possibly revealed a survival strategy of Helicobacter pylori after its gastric localization.CUN ShuJian SUN HongZhe 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,6:0
20Structural Insight into the Substrate Gating Mechanism by Staphylococcus aureus Aldehyde Dehydrogenase显示文摘Staphylococcus aureus produces staphyloxanthin,a C30 carotenoid with golden color,as an antioxidant to promote bacterial resistance to reactive oxygen species.The biosynthesis pathway of staphyloxanthin involves a series of catalytic enzymes.Aldehyde dehydrogenase(AldH)is a dehydrogenase recently identified to convert 4,4’-diaponeurosporenaldehyde into 4,4’-diaponeurosporenoic acid during staphyloxanthin biosynthesis.Here,we present the crystallographic structures of apo-and holo-forms of S.aureus AldH.The dimeric enzyme contains a unique C-terminal helix,which resembles a“gatekeeper”helix found in human membrane-bound fatty aldehyde dehydrogenase(FALDH).Particularly,the helix adopts“open”and“closed”conformations in apo-and holo-AldH,respectively,to control the access of the substrate tunnel.Mutagenesis in combination with in vitro and in vivo activity assays identifies several residues essential for S.aureus AldH substrate recognition and enzyme catalytic turnover.Our results provide insights into substrate recognition of S.aureus AldH toward polyunsaturated long-chain aldehydes at atomic resolution.Xuan Tao Zhemin Zhang Xiao Zhang Hongyan Li Hongzhe Sun Zong-Wan Mao Wei Xia 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,5:0
