| 1 | A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. | 2 | Discovery of ultrahigh-pressure magnesite-bearing garnet lherzolite (>3.8 GPa) in the Altyn Tagh, Northwest China显示文摘Magnesite-bearing garnet Iherzolite from the Altyn Tagh, associated with garnet pyroxenite, and garnet-bearing felsic gneiss, crops out as lenses in Proterozoic gneiss about 100 km east of the Jianggelasayi River. The garnet Iherzolite, together with the eclogite in western Jianggelasayi, composes a high-pressure to ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt in the southern margin of the Altyn Tagh. Parageneses of minerals from magnesite-bearing garnet Iherzolite indicate that the rock evolved a multi-stage metamorphism. The peak-stage metamorphism produces an assemblage of Grt+Ol+Opx+Cpx±Mgs, in which A12O3 content of Opxis very low (0.30-0.66wt%). The calculated P-T condition of the peak stage is 3.8-5.lGPa and 880-970°C, some exsolution rods of clinopyroxene and rutile occur in the Grt and magnesite is rimed by dolomite and orthopyroxene, all implying that the peak stage was a UHP metamorphic process. | 3 | LA-(MC)-ICPMS U-Pb zircon geochronology and Lu-Hf isotope compositions of the Taihua complex on the southern margin of the North China Craton显示文摘Widely distributed on the southern margin of the North China Craton,the Taihua complex extends roughly in an east-west direction and the relatively complete successions are found in Lushan County,Henan Province.Like many other Archean terranes,the Taihua Complex can be divided into two major lithological units along the Dangze River,namely gneisses series and supracrustal rocks.The former is located on the north side of the river and chiefly composed of TTG gneisses and amphibolites;the latter on the south side of the river is mainly supracrustal rock.Coupled with the previous studies,the results obtained by this study show that the Taihua complex was formed in a large time span from Neoarchean to Palaeoproterozoic.The TTG gneisses and amphibolites are dated at Neoarchean (2794–2752 Ma).The 2.9 Ga and 3.1 Ga zircons in amphibolites could be xenocrysts.In the North China Craton,the 2.8–2.7 Ga old rocks crop out in several areas e.g.western Shandong Province,Jiaodong Peninsula and Lushan area of Henan Province.In addition,2.8–2.7 Ga detrital zircons or xenocryst zircons have been recognized in Huai’an,Fuping,Wutai areas of North China Craton and also reported in the Early Paleozoic diamondiferous kimberlites in Mengyin and Fuxian.All these age results indicate that the 2.8–2.7 Ga rocks may have been developed much broader region than today’s outcrops.Zircon Hf and whole rock Nd isotopes show that the 2.8–2.7 Ga tectono-thermal event represents an important period of crustal growth with minor ancient crust reworked in the North China Craton.However the formation of supracrustal rocks is limited to 2.2–2.0 Ga in the Palaeoproterozoic time,not the Archaean,as previously believed.Combined with the chronological data of aluminium-rich metamorphic rocks (Khondalite series) on the southern margin of the North China Craton and adjacent areas,it is suggested that the above areas have widely developed Paleoproterozoic passive continental margin environment. | DIWU ChunRong SUN Yong LIN CiLuan WANG HongLiang | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,23: | 72 |
| 4 | U–Pb ages and Hf isotopes for detrital zircons from quartzite in the Paleoproterozoic Songshan Group on the southwestern margin of the North China Craton显示文摘In situ U-Pb dating and Lu-Hf isotopic analysis were carried out for detrital zircons from quartzite in the Paleoproterozoic Songshan Group on the southern margin of the North China Craton (NCC). The re- sults provide further constraints on the crustal formation and evolution history of NCC. Four 207Pb/206Pb age populations were obtained from 99 analyses, with clusters at ~3.40 Ga, 2.77―2.80 Ga, ~2.50 Ga and 2.34 Ga, respectively. The 3.40 Ga old zircons have similar Hf isotopic compositions to those from Ar- chean rocks in the Jidong and Anshan areas of NCC. However, crustal remnants older than 3.6 Ga have been identified in the southern margin of NCC, the South China Craton, the northwestern part of the Qinling Orogen and its adjacent area. Thus, it is not easy to trace the source rock from which the 3.40 Ga detrital zircons were derived. It can be inferred that the crustal remnants older than 3.40 Ga might have been widely distributed in the North China Craton. The 2.77―2.80 Ga zircons make up a relatively small proportion and have the highest εHf (t) values (up to 6.1±1.6), consistent with the Hf isotopic composition of the depleted mantle at 2.83 Ga. Their single-stage Hf model age of 2.83 Ga is close to their crystallized age, suggesting that their source rocks were extracted from the contemporaneous depleted mantle. The ~2.50 Ga zircon grains constitute about 85% of the total grain population and their Hf isotopic compositions indicate major growth of juvenile crust at ~2.50 Ga but minor reworking of ancient crust. | 5 | Multiple genetic alterations and behavior of cellular biology in gastric cancer and other gastric mucosal lesions:H.pylori infection,histological types and staging显示文摘AIM To investigate the expression of multiplegenes and the behavior of cellular biology ingastric cancer(GC)and other gastric mucosallesions and their relations to Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection,tumor staging andhistological subtypes.METHODS Three hundred and twenty-sevenspecimens of gastric mucosa obtained viaendoscopy or surgical resection,and ABCimmunohistochemical staining were used todetect the expression of p53,p16,Bcl-2 andCOX-2 proteins.H.pylori was determined byrapid urea test combined with pathologicalstaining or14C urea breath test.Cellular image analysis was performed in 66 patients withintestinal metaplasia(IM)and/or dysplasia(Dys).In 30 of them,both cancer and theparacancerous tissues were obtained at the timeof surgery.Histological pattern,tumor staging,lymph node metastasis,grading ofdifferentiation and other clinical data werestudied in the medical records.RESULTS p16 expression of IM or Dys wassignificantly lower in positive H.pylori chronicatrophic gastritis(CAG)than those withnegative H.pylori(CAG:54.8% vs 88.0%,IM:34.4% vs 69.6%,Dys:23.8% vs 53.6%,allP<0.05),Bcl-2 or COX-2 expression of IM orDys in positive H.pylori cases was significantlyhigher than that without H.pylori(Bcl-2:68.8%vs23.9%,90.5% vs 60.7%;COX-2:50.0% vs10.8%,61.8% vs 17.8%;all P<0.05).Themean number of most parameters of cellularimage analysis in positive H.pylori group wassignificantly higher than that in negative H.pylori group(Ellipser:53±14,40±12μm,Area1:748±572,302±202 μm2,Area2:3050±1661,1681±1990 μm2,all P<0.05;Ellipseb:79±23,58±15 μm,Ratio1:22%±5%,13%±4%,Ratio2:79%±17%,53%±20%,all P<0.01).There was significant correlation between Bcl-2and histologic pattern of gastric carcinoma,andbetween COX-2 and tumor staging or lymph nodemetastasis(Bcl-2:75.0% vs 16.7%;COX-2:76.0% vs 20.0%,79.2% vs 16.7%;allP<0.05).CONCLUSION p1l6, Bcl-2, and COX-2 but not p53 gene may play a role in the early genesis/ progression of gastric carcinoma and are associated with H. pylori infection. p53 gene is relatively late event in gastric tumorigenesis and mainly relates to its progression. There is more cellular-biological behavior of malignant tumor in gastric mucosal lesions with H. pylori infection. Aberrant Bcl-2 protein expression appears to be preferentially associated with the intestinal type cancer. | 9 | Deferoxamine promotes recovery of traumatic spinal cord injury by inhibiting ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent novel cell death pathway. Deferoxamine, a ferroptosis inhibitor, has been reported to promote spinal cord injury repair. It has yet to be clarified whether ferroptosis inhibition represents the mechanism of action of Deferoxamine on spinal cord injury recovery. A rat model of Deferoxamine at thoracic 10 segment was established using a modified Allen's method. Ninety 8-week-old female Wistar rats were used. Rats in the Deferoxamine group were intraperitoneally injected with 100 mg/kg Deferoxamine 30 minutes before injury. Simultaneously, the Sham and Deferoxamine groups served as controls. Drug administration was conducted for 7 consecutive days. The results were as follows:(1) Electron microscopy revealed shrunken mitochondria in the spinal cord injury group.(2) The Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan locomotor rating score showed that recovery of the hindlimb was remarkably better in the Deferoxamine group than in the spinal cord injury group.(3) The iron concentration was lower in the Deferoxamine group than in the spinal cord injury group after injury.(4) Western blot assay revealed that, compared with the spinal cord injury group, GPX4, xCT, and glutathione expression was markedly increased in the Deferoxamine group.(5) Real-time polymerase chain reaction revealed that, compared with the Deferoxamine group, mRNA levels of ferroptosis-related genes Acyl-CoA synthetase family member 2(ACSF2) and iron-responsive element-binding protein 2(IREB2) were up-regulated in the Deferoxamine group.(6) Deferoxamine increased survival of neurons and inhibited gliosis. These findings confirm that Deferoxamine can repair spinal cord injury by inhibiting ferroptosis. | 11 | Effect of multidisciplinary team treatment on outcomes of patients with gastrointestinal malignancy显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the effect of multidisciplinary team (MDT) treatment modality on outcomes of patients with gastrointestinal malignancy in China. METHODS: Data about patients with gastric and colorectal cancer treated in our center during the past 10 years were collected and divided into two parts. Part 1 consisted of the data collected from 516 consecutive complicated cases discussed at MDT meetings in Peking University School of Oncology (PKUSO) from December 2005 to July 2009. Part 2 consisted of the data collected from 263 consecutive cases of resect-able locally advanced rectal cancer from January 2001 to January 2005. These 263 patients were divided into neoadjuvant therapy (NT) group and control group. Patients in NT group received MDT treatment, namely neoadjuvant therapy + surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. Patients in control group underwent direct surgery + postoperative adjuvant therapy. The outcomes in two groups were compared. RESULTS: The treatment strategy was altered after discussed at MDT meeting in 76.81% of gastric cancer patients and in 58.33% of colorectal cancer patients before operation. The sphincter-preservation and local control of tumor were better in NT group than in control group. The 5-year overall survival rate was also higher in NT group than in control group (77.23% vs 69.75%, P = 0.049). | 13 | Electroacupuncture in the repair of spinal cord injury:inhibiting the Notch signaling pathway and promoting neural stem cell proliferation显示文摘Electroacupuncture for the treatment of spinal cord injury has a good clinical curative effect, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. In our experiments, the spinal cord of adult Sprague-Dawley rats was clamped for 60 seconds. Dazhui(GV14) and Mingmen(GV4) acupoints of rats were subjected to electroacupuncture. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay revealed that the expression of serum inflammatory factors was apparently downregulated in rat models of spinal cord injury after electroacupuncture. Hematoxylin-eosin staining and immunohistochemistry results demonstrated that electroacupuncture contributed to the proliferation of neural stem cells in rat injured spinal cord, and suppressed their differentiation into astrocytes. Real-time quantitative PCR and western blot assays showed that electroacupuncture inhibited activation of the Notch signaling pathway induced by spinal cord injury. | 15 | Maize-soybean strip intercropping: Achieved a balance between high productivity and sustainability显示文摘Intercropping is one of the most vital practice to improve land utilization rate in China that has limited arable land resource. However, the traditional intercropping systems have many disadvantages including illogical field lay-out of crops, low economic value, and labor deficiency, which cannot balance the crop production and agricultural sustainability. In view of this, we developed a novel soybean strip intercropping model using maize as the partner, the regular maize-soybean strip intercropping mainly popularized in northern China and maize-soybean relay-strip intercropping principally extended in southwestern China. Compared to the traditional maize-soybean intercropping systems, the main innovation of field lay-out style in our present intercropping systems is that the distance of two adjacent maize rows are shrunk as a narrow strip, and a strip called wide strip between two adjacent narrow strips is expanded reserving for the growth of two or three rows of soybean plants. The distance between outer rows of maize and soybean strips are expanded enough for light use efficiency improvement and tractors working in the soybean strips. Importantly, optimal cultivar screening and increase of plant density achieved a high yield of both the two crops in the intercropping systems and increased land equivalent ratio as high as 2.2. Annually alternative rotation of the adjacent maize-and soybean-strips increased the grain yield of next seasonal maize, improved the absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potasium of maize, while prevented the continuous cropping obstacles. | 19 | Geochronological,geochemical,and Nd-Hf isotopic studies of the Qinling Complex,central China:Implications for the evolutionary history of the North Qinling Orogenic Belt显示文摘The Qinling Complex of central China is thought to be the oldest rock unit and the inner core of the North Qinling Orogenic Belt(NQOB).Therefore,the Qinling Complex is the key to understanding the prePaleozoic evolution of the NQOB.The complex,which consists of metagraywackes and marbles,underwent regional amphibolite-facies metamorphism.In this study,we constrained the formation age of the Qinling Complex to the period between the late Mesoproterozoic and the early Neoproterozoic(ca.1062-962 Ma),rather than the Paleoproterozoic as previously thought.The LA-ICP-MS data show two major metamorphic ages(ca.499 and ca.420-400 Ma) for the Qinling Complex.The former age is consistent with the peak metamorphic age of the high- and ultra-high pressure(HP-UHP) rocks in the Qinling Complex,indicating that both the HP-UHP rocks and their country rocks experienced intensive regional metamorphism during the Ordovician.The latter age may constrain the time of partial melting in the NQOB between the late Silurian and early Devonian.The Qinling Complex is mostly affiliated with subduction-accretion processes along an active continental margin,and should contain detritus deposited in a forearc basin.The available data indicate that the NQOB was an independent micro-continent at least prior to the Neoproterozoic,and included a portion of the Grenville orogenic belt during the period of 1.2-0.8 Ga.The NQOB has experienced a unique geological history,which is obviously different from that of the North China Craton(NCC) and the Yangtze Craton during the Precambrian.The Neoproterozoic granitoids that intruded the Qinling Complex can be interpreted as the products of assembly of the supercontinent Rodinia.The NQOB was separated from Rodinia at ca.830-740 Ma.Subsequently,the NQOB moved closer to the northern margin of the NCC,and the initial accretion or collision with the NCC occurred from the late Cambrian to the early Ordovician. | Chunrong Diwu Yong Sun Yan Zhao BingXiang Liu Shaocong Lai | 2014 | Geoscience Frontiers2014,5,4: | 27 |
| 20 | B7-H1 expression is associated with expansion of regulatory T cells in colorectal carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate the expression of B7-H1 in human colorectal carcinoma (CRC) to define its regulating effects on T cells in tumor microenvironment.METHODS:One hundred and two paraffin blocks and 33 fresh samples of CRC tissues were subject to this study.Immunohistochemistry was performed for B7-H1 and CD3 staining in CRC tissues.Ficoll-Hypaque density gradient centrifugation was used to isolate peripheral blood mononuclear cells of fresh CRC tissues;flow cytometry and immunofluorescence staining were used for detection of regulatory T cells.Data was analyzed with statistical software.RESULTS:Costimulatory molecule B7-H1 was found strongly expressed in CRC tissues,localized in tumor cell membrane and cytoplasm,while weak or none expression of B7-H1 was detected in pared normal colorectal tissues.Meanwhile,CD3 positive T cells were found congregated in CRC tumor nest and stroma.Statistic analysis showed that B7-H1 expression level was negatively correlated to the total T cell density in tumor nest (P<0.0001) and tumor stroma (P=0.0200) of 102 cases of CRC tissues.Among the total T cells,a variable amount of regulatory T cells with a clear Foxp3+ (forkhead box P3) staining could be detected in CRC tissues and patients' blood.Interestingly,in the 33 samples (15 cases of B7-H1 high CRC tissues and 18 cases of B7H1 low CRC tissues) of freshly isolated mononuclear cells from CRC tissues,the percentages of CD4+ Foxp3+ and CD8+ Foxp3+ regulatory T cells were found remarkably higher in B7-H1 high CRC tissues than in B7-H1 low CRC tissues (P=0.0024,P=0.0182),indicating that B7-H1 expression was involved in proliferation of regulatory T cell.No significant difference was found in CRC peripheral blood (P=0.0863,P=0.0678).PD-1 is the specific ligand for B7-H1 pathway transferring inhibitory signal to T cell,which is expressed by activated T cell.Our further analysis of PD-1 expression on T cells in CRC tissues showed that conventional T cells (CD4+ Foxp3/CD8+ Foxp3),which was thought to contribute to the anti-tumor immune response,highly expressed PD-1;while regulatory T cells (CD4+ Foxp3+/CD8+ Foxp3) almost failed to express PD-1.The average percentage of PD-1 expression on regulatory T cells was significantly higher than the percentage of PD-1 on conventional T cells (CD4+ Foxp3 T cell,P<0.0001;CD8+ Foxp3 T cell,P<0.0001).The diverse expression of PD-1 might lead to different fate of T cell subsets in B7-H1 over-expression CRC tumor microenvironment.CONCLUSION:B7-H1 expression in tumor cells can in hibit the conventional T cell proliferation in tumor micro environment through the PD-1 expression on conventiona T cells. | Dong Hua Jing Sun Yong Mao Lu-Jun Chen Yu-Yu Wu Xue-Guang Zhang | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,9: | 25 |
