| 1 | Isolation and in vivo hep-atoprotective activity of Melothria heterophylla(Lour.) Cogn.against chemically induced liver injuries in rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate hepatoprotective activity of ethanol extract of Melothria heterophyila Lour Cogn.(EEMH) against CCl4-induced hepatic damage in rats.Methods:β-sitosterol was isolated by column chromatography and characterized spectroscopically.Two different doses(200 and 400 mg/kg bw) of EEMH were administered orally in alternate days.The hepatoprotective activity was studied in liver by measuring biochemical parameters such as serum aspartate amino transferase(AST),alanine amino transferase(ALT),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),total protein and total bilirubin.Lipid peroxidation product and different antioxidant enzyme activities were assessed in liver homogenate.Results:EEMH reduced all biochemical parameters and lipid peroxidation,as well as it increased the antioxidant enzyme activities in comparison with silymarin.The protective effect of the extract on CCl4 induced damage was confirmed by histopathological examination of the liver.Conclusions:This result strongly supports the protective effect of EEMH against acute liver injury,and may be attributed to its antioxidative activity. | Arijit Mondal Tapan Kumar Maity Dilipkumar Pal Santanu Sannigrahi Jagadish Singh | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011，4，8： | 2 |

| 6 | Abundance and biomass of assorted small indigenous fish species:Observations from rural fish markets of West Bengal,India显示文摘The small indigenous fish species(SIS)are harvested as ensemble of different fish species of varying size and shape.An appraisal of the abundance and biomass of fish species constituting such ensemble was carried out with samples collected from fish markets ofWest Bengal,India.The data revealed that at least 22 different fish species were present varying in numbers and species combinations.The abundance and biomass of the individual fish species was negatively correlated,indicating numerical dominance of small sized species.Logarithmic regression showed a good fit of the relative abundance(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=55.72ln(x)e 77.27;r^(2)=0.940),while power regression was best fit for the relative biomass of individual fish(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=24.58x^(-1.54);R^(2)=0.831).In overall both species specific and individual based biomass and abundance relationships were negatively correlated.In order to ascertain the harvest and marketability of the SIS in a judicious manner,monitoring of the fish assemblages in natural habitats is recommended. | Dibyendu Saha Santanu Pal Supratim Mukherjee Gargi Nandy Anupam Chakraborty Sk Habibur Rahaman Gautam Aditya | 2018 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2018，3，3： | 0 |
| 7 | Novel wild edible mushroom Astraeus hygrometricus(Pers.)Morgan induces robust apoptosis on human acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells through a RONS-subsisted mitochondria-dependent pathway显示文摘Objective:To explore the therapeutic effects of the novel wild edible mushroom Astraeus hygrometricus(Pers.)Morgan(A.hygrometricus)on human acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells.Methods:Extensive screening of the antiproliferative and chemopreventive potential of different extracts from 5 wild mushrooms,A.hygrometricus,Phallus sp.,Lentinus sp.,Tricholoma sp.,and Serpula sp.was performed against a panel of 6 cancer cell lines and normal cells using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay.Apoptosis determination,cell cycle profiling,intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)and reactive nitrogen species(RNS),and mitochondrial membrane potential were analyzed by flow cytometry.The activity of caspases was measured colorimetrically,and the expression pattern of mitochondrial proteins was analyzed.Results:The methanol extract of A.hygrometricus and MOLT-4 cells were identified as the most potent extract exhibiting antiproliferative activity and most sensitive cell line,respectively.The mushroom extract induced robust selective apoptosis in MOLT-4 cells and arrested cell cycle progression at the G0/G1 stage.The extract disrupted the mitochondrial membrane potential and enhanced ROS production in MOLT-4 cells.The methanol extract induced apoptosis by downregulating the expression of Bcl-2,increasing the expression of Bax,and activating the caspase cascade.Conclusion:The novel wild edible mushroom is a potential repository of biomolecules for the development of antileukemic drugs. | Amrita Pal Ribhu Ray Anirban Chouni Subhadip Hajra Santanu Paul | 2024 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2024，11，1： | 0 |
